Make sure you reseal after opening or if you are concerned about drying out keep in airtight container or bag. Gromit loves them so much that we tell him if doesn't ear his dog food , he will not get his brushing chews. Wish Milk Bone could make a Healthy Dog Food that tastes like Gromit's Mini Brushing Chew. My huskies favorite dental chew! She’ll do any trick for me to give her one of these. The price is the best at Target, you get plenty in a pack and they’re VOHC certified which is fantastic! These treats are great for my dog's teeth nothing has helped her horrible breath for more than 10 minutes yet but still, 9.5 times out of 10 she takes these treats and starts chewing immediately which means they are not her favorite but she still super approves! 😊 Never thought you'd catch me using a milk bone product but here I am. I am aware that titanium dioxide is in it but I did my research on the ingredients. and both dogs and humans have this color additive in their food but it is always limited to 1 percent intake which the government approved websites deem safe for consumption. I do wish they'd get rid of it though because any damage to DNA is not good. However you can't complain since this treat has limited to only one controversial ingredient like Titanium Dioxide. It has no other concerning ones for me, that may cause cancer or damage a dog. It's very hard to find treats without color additives like Red 40 and so on, that can potentially build up cancer cells over time. Milk Bone has done well with making some treats that don't have the cheapest chemicals in them, for this brand of their treats. Although Milk Bone co., I do have to say that it has not yet been passed as a law that Titanium Dioxide be removed from pet foods. I give Oravet chew to my Westie as a treat for taking her medication at night. That way I am killing three birds with one stone ( for want of a better saying). 1. When I came back, Jesse had his hair all matted from the sticky mess and Bella was collapsed on the floor. Her jaws were glued together by the sticky chew and it was blocking her airway. I would have given them 5 stars but since they underwent structural changes within the co, now my dog won’t eat their bones. Zbones were his absolute favorite! When my dog ate it, people were always asking who’s eating chicken soup. The bone smelled SO amazingly good of chicken soup. Then out of nowhere I went to pick up his bones they were different. The dogs love them and as one of them suffers from intestinal lymphangiectasia and can't eat anything derived from chicken or beef, they have been a real godsend. But we're very disappointed with the new design. The bones are now much softer and thinner. The dogs get through them much faster, and I now have doubts about how useful they really are for cleaning their teeth. While it helps with bad breath issues, you're better off just having your dogs teeth cleaned by the vet & doing maintenance. It took my poor dog 3 times before she got this out of her system. It was visible in her stool as long white stringy pieces. Took her to the vet & was cautioned to never give these again. Tossed the bag of which only 2 we're given. We have a 70 lb golden who hates getting her teeth brushed. I mean…she is so sweet and loving, but it just pushes her buttons if you mess with her mouth and you are likely to get nipped at. So I looked at the ingredients in these and gave it a try. She can be a food snob so I wasn't sure if she'd like them (seriously, she thinks bananas are the devil). She LOVES them….better than any other treats. She looks forward to them. We give her one in the morning and one before bed. She is 5 years old and started to have some bad tartar and black near her gumlines and it is going away now. I can't say for certain her breath is better but I think it may be. For the last several months I have been looking for an alternative to Nurto’s dental stick since the company has decided to discontinue that product. We and our two dogs have been fans of Zukes Z-bones for a long time. The dogs love them and as one of them suffers from intestinal lymphangiectasia and can't eat anything derived from chicken or beef, they have been a real godsend. But we're very disappointed with the new design. The bones are now much softer and thinner. The dogs get through them much faster, and I now have doubts about how useful they really are for cleaning their teeth. Suffice it to say that I used to have to saw through them to break them for the smaller dog, but can now just bend them until they snap. What possessed the manufacturers to do this? Before I even opened the package, Cooper was licking his lips for these breath bites. Once I got the package open, he immediately started going through his trick routine with the hope of getting a treat. He scarfed the treat down and came back looking for more. Since then, I've used these to reward him and to help freshen his breath. Cooper's got some stinky breath and I think these do a nice job of helping keep that away. I was giving him 2-3 at a time, not sure if I would have noticed a change with just 1 treat. I do think these could be more effective as a bigger treat because I'm pretty sure he chewed twice and then swallowed and I expect that the longer the treat is in his mouth, the more good it will do. I've been giving my 1 year old mini aussie shepherd these snack for a few days and he loves it. The packaging is nice and comes with a re-sealable top. The treats are about an inch long and bite sized. It has a very strong scent which the dog is attracted to. It freshens his breath and it's a huge plus because he loves to give kisses. My dog loves the flavor of these treats. The texture when she chews them seems to be different than other treats she's had. It appears as though she continues to chew/lick for several seconds after the treat is fully gone, which she's never done with either crunchy or soft/chewy treats from any brands we've tried in the past. As far as the breath improvement, I honestly didn't notice any difference for my pup. She's never had really bad breath, just the typical dog breath until she started developing tartar buildup when she turned 5 years old. That's when her breath changed. I have two golden retrievers and I definitely was not thrilled with these. They tried these twice. My one dog chewed them as intended, but coughed a lot while doing so both times. My other dog chewed it in pieces way too fast easily for this type of chew the second time and also coughed quite a bit after doing so. This dog broke it in half easily the second time, but then got it lodged in his mouth between his teeth from side to side. We had to pry it out so he didn't get hurt. I have 2 chihuahuas who promptly took their bones to their respective corners and while one chewed diligently for a half hour, the other guarded hers for a half hour, solely for the purpose of eating hers in front of the other after she had finished. I give Oravet chew to my Westie as a treat for taking her medication at night. That way I am killing three birds with one stone ( for want of a better saying). 1. Most importantly she is getting her medication. 2. She looks forward to a delicious treat Oravet. 3. Good Dental Hygiene. I can see that Oravets really make a difference as her teeth a beautiful.
These things damn near killed my dog. My 15-pound Cavalier had oral surgery 3 weeks earlier, and the vet sold me these chews. I gave her and her 25-pound brother each their first one, and I watched them for a bit because I wasn’t sure what to expect. Things seemed okay so I stepped to the fridge to get a soda. When I came back, Jesse had his hair all matted from the sticky mess and Bella was collapsed on the floor. Her jaws were glued together by the sticky chew and it was blocking her airway. It was a struggle getting it out, and fortunately she started breathing again.
These chews work great! Not only that, but my dogs love them. Although it’ll never be as good as just brushing their teeth, it is a whole lot easier and it’s better than doing nothing! I have bought this product online for years thru Petco for my furbaby and now this month before my next recurring shipment I see the cost had doubled, like WOW… WHY? For the last several months I have been looking for an alternative to Nurto’s dental stick since the company has decided to discontinue that product. After several attempts with other dental sticks my picky dog turned her nose up to them. To be honest I had given up finding an alternative. I was in Petco recently looking for a totally unrelated item and I stumbled upon these new sticks. The package said “Filet mignon flavored”. Since my dog Happy loves meat I decided to try it. As soon as I opened the package I had high hopes. The sticks smelled good enough I wanted to try them! The smell reminded me of walking in moms house and smelling pot roast cooking on a winter day. The best part is they don’t cause issues with her sensitive stomach! Now everyday I give her her new dental stick she runs and eats it right away. I don’t find them laying all right very the floor in our living room like the competitors sticks. If you got a picky dog who loves the taste of meat give these a try. I have two dogs, one is one and a half years old and weighs about 42 pounds and the other one is six months old and weighs 42 pounds. Both of my dogs can chew through a bone pretty quickly. When I first showed them the street they were super interested and licking their lips, they couldn’t wait to have it! They both really enjoyed the flavor and it lasted longer than their normal treats. The older dog took about a minute to eat it and the younger dog took about two minutes. Which usually they gulp down their treats within seconds. Next time I would probably buy the large dog size but I am definitely overall happy with the product. bought this for my 18 lb dog. he loves the taste of it and doesn't have any digestion issues. however, i don't think it actually follows through on the scrubbing action claim. my dog finishes this in under a minute, he bites off chunks so easily, and just eats it as a regular treat. the texture and consistency of the chews isn't hard enough for my dog to have to chew on it. would recommend as a treat instead of a chewkelly
I received a free sample of Milk-Bone® Brushing Chews® from SheSpeaks, and the following are my own opinions. I was thrilled to receive THESE brushing chews! I’ve used Greenies for my 8 and 10 year old dogs and they really like them! They are quite pricey. Then I found Minties at Walmart and my boys liked those as well. Then I had the opportunity to try these dental treats and my pups and I think they’re GREAT! Not only do they clean my dogs teeth and freshen their breath, they are reasonably priced and made in America! I think they do such a great job cleaning their teeth because they don’t seem to break apart in the manner the other two dental chews I mentioned. My dogs have to work at these chews and the way it breaks apart is almost like a floss for their teeth. Just try one bag, I PROMISE, they will be worth it!!TexasTea
