This is better than pricey vet shampoo! I say this because our 3 year old lab mix is sensitive to the season changes and with that being said he has quite a few hotspots throughout the year. We went to the vet the very first time it happened and received some allergy meds. Now they did work in the long run (we had to give them to him for about two weeks) but it didn’t necessarily help his skin—the itching, scratching, and biting. We have had Vetoquinol medicated shampoo in the past but it’s so expensive, anywhere from $25-$35 a bottle. So I did some research on medicated shampoos and came across this one. I was skeptic because it is on the cheaper end and you know how that sometimes goes haha. Needless to say I’ve never actually had a product cost less than half the price and do what a name brand does. It cleared up his skin in a few days (using it twice a week) until the spots were gone although he did get relief the very first time we bathed him in it; which is such a wonderful thing to witness when your dog is visibly struggling. Just please don’t stop making this product and carrying it Walmart!!! We depend on it!!! So sorry I don’t have before and after photos for you to see for yourself but just buy it, you will not be disappointed plus it will save you SO much money.
My dog has been having such problems with his skin, super itchy and has always been very sensitive. My dog suffers from hot spots on his feet and it makes him just miserable as one heals and another pops up in a different spot. My vet recommended I try a shampoo formulated specifically for hot spots and I found this at a major online retailer. A sixteen ounce bottle ran me about $7 as an add on item which I thought was quite economical since my dog is so small and that one bottle should last me through many, many washes. The formula uses Tea Tree Oil, Aloe Vera, Chamomile to calm dry, itchy skin and despite being a bit strong smelling during the bathing process the smell does not linger after drying. After the first bath with this I noticed a definite improvement in my dog's spots and he seemed more relaxed and less prone to lick the sore areas. After a month of weekly baths his spots were gone and they have not reappeared since. He also had a bit of a dandruff problem during the summer as he likes to sit outside and sunbathe which dries out his skin. I use this shampoo almost exclusively for our one-year-old basset hound. It lathers well and rinses easily. I always use the leave-on conditioner after a thorough towel drying, and it never leaves his fur feeling greasy or waxy. The formulas are marketed for prevention of skin issues, which is why I decided to try it. While our basset has never had any skin issues aside from occasional itchiness after bathing with other products, we would like to keep it that way. He has never seemed itchy or irritated after using these products. The scent of the conditioner is more potent than the subtle scent of the shampoo, but it's nice. This product was recommended to me by Chewy. I used it on my Cocker Spaniel to treat severe fungal infections on her skin with lots of dandruff, sores, and hotspots with extreme itching. Our German Shepherd has suffered from mold allergy since our recent move to FL. This resulted in stubborn fungal and yeast dermatitis that caused him extreme itchiness and discomfort as well as some hair loss. Ketochlor has been a key component of his specialist veterinarian-directed treatment program. With oral meds and an every 5 day bathing regimen, he has recovered and his skin and coat have returned to normal, but the vet dermatologist/allergist whom our dog sees has told us that it will be necessary to bathe with Ketochlor once a week indefinitely to prevent recurrance. The product is expensive but highly effective. It only works if the directions to leave the lather in for 20 mins are followed. We have used this wonderful product on our dog for a few months now and it does clear up his terrible skin problems. He heals up very well after a 3x a week treatment for one week then we use it the next week once and then the following week once again. After approx. 3 weeks free of problems he breaks out again. My dog suffers from hot spots on his feet and it makes him just miserable as one heals and another pops up in a different spot. My vet recommended I try a shampoo formulated specifically for hot spots and I found this at a major online retailer. A sixteen ounce bottle ran me about $7 as an add on item which I thought was quite economical since my dog is so small and that one bottle should last me through many, many washes. The formula uses Tea Tree Oil, Aloe Vera, Chamomile to calm dry, itchy skin and despite being a bit strong smelling during the bathing process the smell does not linger after drying. After the first bath with this I noticed a definite improvement in my dog's spots and he seemed more relaxed and less prone to lick the sore areas. After a month of weekly baths his spots were gone and they have not reappeared since. He also had a bit of a dandruff problem during the summer as he likes to sit outside and sunbathe which dries out his skin. Since I started using this shampoo his dandruff has disappeared completely as well! Overall, I definitely recommend this! The slight smell is definitely worth it for the results!capers01

LOVE Vet's Best Hot Spot shampoo. My dog developed seasonal allergies a few years ago and was sneezing and itching SO badly she was ripping her fur out in multiple places. She especially had bad hot spots on her front paws, where she was chewing and biting nonstop trying to ease the itchiness. There were a few times that it was so bad we ended up getting her an allergy shot from the vet, but I did not like the side effects of that shot. The Oatmeal Shampoo & Conditioner was so great! Bath time with our fur babies has never a fun time, but that wet dog smell left our whole house smelling gross afterwards. With three dogs getting baths, we had to go through so many hoops trying to rid of the smell. Nature's Miracle has really helped! There's still some wet dog smell, but it is noticeably less prominent after all three have went through their bath time. Plus, the pistachio cream smells incredible, and it left our dogs smelling fresh and their fur so soft afterwards. We had friends over that evening and when we asked, they had no idea we had given our dogs a bath earlier that day. If you're like me, I absolutely dislike the smell of wet dog and smelly dogs in general. Maybe it's because I have a sensitive nose. I give Max a bath about every two weeks. I took off one star because I'm not a huge fan of the scent–kind of smells cheap to me, but I know everyone has their own favorite scents, so I wouldn't necessarily discourage anyone from purchasing this shampoo because of that. This is a good product I've used it many years. The shipping was quick. The interior packaging encased in a plastic bag was good. The exterior packaging needs to be stronger or the box stuffed with paper or styrofoam to keep the box from being crushed. Luckily the contents were not damaged. But I do recommend this company and product.
We went the gamut of Prednisone and veterinary shampoos for allergy and yeast infection producing hot spots in my dog last year. I did some research when the hot spots started this year and saw good reviews on Mane and Tail antibacterial shampoo. It worked better than I could've hoped.
