Used it on my German Shepherd Dog who is going through the shedding stage now. This product not only smells great but also keeps my dog's coat soft and shiny. Originally I purchased this to help soothe my Collie Mix, Storm, skin. I found that there was an improvement in her coat though it did not completely soothe my baby's itchy back. Storm definitely does scratch one less itch after use of this product though the down side is I did notice she had just slightly more visible dandruff than normal. For those Pet parents who have fur babies with any allergies or skin conditions or should you suspect your pet to have any skin coat issues be sure to get the okay from your vet for any concerns prior. I've got a rescue toy poodle with extremely curly fur, she gets knotted/matted very easily but hates being brushed. She also has very sensitive skin and a lot of products make her itchy. This is a very good company and they have good products for humans and pets. My dog, unfortunately, happens to have very dry sensitive itchy skin. Especially during flea season. Just one flea bite and it's off to the races. She has severe "flea bites venom" allergy. So flea season I have to be hyper vigilant with everything from yard, home, pet flea and tick treatment, and grooming. I purchased this one day because I know that oatmeal is very soothing to itchy dry skin. I have used regular oatmeal as a paste and as a bath/rinse with very good results. This shampoo smells good, it was a little higher priced but I was OK as long as the results were equal to the price point. Sadly, I was not impressed. In this case it was the name brand reputation was bigger than the results. while it did clean her fur thoroughly and nicely , she was scratching a lot within the first few hours after her bath. And she was properly rinsed. I spend triple the time rinsing.  I put her back in the shower and rinsed her with the homemade oatmeal bath that I use. Regular old-school oatmeal, mixed with water, and just use it as a soak/rinse. I also put in a few drops of high-quality Teatree oil, the mother of apple cider vinegar, and a cup of chamomile tea. that's my homemade treatment for itchy sensitive skin this shampoo, for the price, did not meet my expectations. I have gotten similar if not better results from shampoos that were 1 to 5 dollars a bottle. Keep in mind this is just my opinion and my results on my dog. This is a great natural dog shampoo that i use on my dog regularly. I used to use a lot of product, like a quarter of the bottle every time I bathed my fur baby. This has been the only dog shampoo I will ever use! I have a one year old "Beagador" : Chocolate Labrador and Beagle mix dog. So needless to say he is very hyper and won't stand for taking a bath longer than a few minute's! Really loved this product and so does my pups. One weekend both my doggies got sprayed by a skunk, naturally I went for tomato juice and another mixture of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda to bath them in. It worked wonders but after that I wanted to give them a nice soothing bath so I used this. I loved the scent and how calming it was for my pups. It smoothed my pitbulls skin really good and made both my other long haired babygirl and my potty smell good and have a smooth coat. First of all, I was a bit skeptical paying the price for dog shampoo but it’s been well worth it. I’ve waited a couple months to leave this review just to see if there were any adverse side effects and am happy to say we’ve experienced none at all! My little corgi doesn’t mind it and she tends to be very opinionated on most smells. It’s lightly fragranced, lathers extremely well and a small amount goes a long way. Also, the fragrance isn’t heavily perfumed either, it smells like soap should smell ✨natural✨ You really are getting a higher quality shampoo that will last you ages. I'm not a fan of most doggie shampoos out there because they aren't always transparent about ingredients, and often there's a ton of neon colouring. This was quite a splurge for a shampoo, as my last shampoo purchase was a gallon of Buddy Wash for $60. However, it's my pup's birthday so I always get a few presents for her. My primary concern was that the fragrance would be too overpowering (dog's noses are super sensitive), but it's no more noticeable than other shampoos. I find Ouai products are very perfumey, but this is definitely not as fragranced as my human products. My goldendoodle has very high-maintenance, SUPER fine hair so I always follow up a shampoo with a bunch of conditioner. However, once this shampoo was rinsed out her hair didn't feel stripped of all moisture so I forewent the conditioner, and so far so good. I have a Golden Retriever (double coated) and wanted a shampoo that made her clean, soft, and not smell like wet dog. We've tried lots of brands but I finally pulled the trigger on this higher end brand to see if there's a difference worth the price. HUGE difference!! Her fur is insanely soft with this shampoo!! This shampoo is extremely runny – a lot comes out at once, almost like a thick water consistency. However, the smell is AMAZING, the price is unbeatable and our pups have been itching less since switching to this. We use flea tick drops so that doesn't matter to us in a shampoo. Buying another bottle because I love this one so much. For $2.97, I'm not going to complain about consistency! I believe that the Hartz brand is a very established company and has been around for years. I actually remember my father using this exact brand on my childhood dog. However, I must say that I was rather disappointed in this product. It seemed as though I would have needed to use the WHOLE bottle which I didn't. I used this product on my pig but I have used it on my dog also. I wanted to see if it would help with my pigs skin. Her skin is very dry. It worked pretty good as long as I keep using this and not any other product. I do need to add lotion to her still but her skin does not seem as dry. It worked really well on my dog. This Burt's Bees Shed Control Shampoo is a true savior for my German Shepherd. My lady sheds A LOT so it has been a constant struggle to find something that would help with it even a little bit. This product definitely helped with my dog's shedding, which was out of control prior to bathing her with burts bee's shampoo. After just the first bath using this shampoo my dog stopped shedding as bad. The type of dog I own are known to go through two shedding seasons a year where they shed their top coat so a new one can grow in. During these times the shedding is so bad that I have to vacuum no less than 3 times a day. Its uncontrollable. But the shampoo really did make a huge difference. Using it once or twice a week during that time of year is ideal to cut down on the shedding . At other times of the year, when my dog isn't shedding her top coat, using the shampoo every couple of weeks makes quite a difference as well, my clothes and couch don't get covered in dog hair any longersara.r
I have a Husky in the sunshine state which may or may not make the shedding a little worse considering they shed that winter coat during the summer…it’s hot here most of the time so I feel like the consistency of her shedding is on point! lol I’ve used a few products that I like and I noticed that using this product instead of seeing chunks of hair fall off periodically I was actually more successful at getting her under coat after using this shampoo and letting her dry. This was a great shampoo for my chihuahua. She has a skin condition and is constantly itching herself. I feel that it’s very gentle and doesn’t cause any buildup or irritation. I’ve been using this product for 5 months now and probably won’t switch up shampoos for her. The smell is so nice! It doesn’t have a strong odor and her reaction to it is pleasant. I purchased this one day because I know that oatmeal is very soothing to itchy dry skin. I have used regular oatmeal as a paste and as a bath/rinse with very good results. This shampoo smells good, it was a little higher priced but I was OK as long as the results were equal to the price point. Sadly, I was not impressed. In this case it was the name brand reputation was bigger than the results. while it did clean her fur thoroughly and nicely , she was scratching a lot within the first few hours after her bath. And she was properly rinsed. I spend triple the time rinsing.  I put her back in the shower and rinsed her with the homemade oatmeal bath that I use. Regular old-school oatmeal, mixed with water, and just use it as a soak/rinse. I also put in a few drops of high-quality Teatree oil, the mother of apple cider vinegar, and a cup of chamomile tea. that's my homemade treatment for itchy sensitive skin this shampoo, for the price, did not meet my expectations. I have gotten similar if not better results from shampoos that were 1 to 5 dollars a bottle. Keep in mind this is just my opinion and my results on my dog. This is a great natural dog shampoo that i use on my dog regularly. I used to use a lot of product, like a quarter of the bottle every time I bathed my fur baby. I was told from my groomers to create a foam with some water and soap in a bottle and it makes the product lather better and uses so much less! My fur baby suffers from itchy skin and this shampoo seems to temporarily relieve that! I enjoy using this on my dog! This shampoo did not disappoint and I am happy with the results Im getting. I also like that Burt Bees doesn't have toxic chemicals in they're products which is what lead me to this purchase. I can often find it at Marshalls for a good price. I bought this about a month ago and finally used it on my dogs today. It was nice consistency, I used it at its full potency, however next time I will dilute it a little to make the bottle last even longer. The instructions say you can dilute 1 part conditioner to 10 parts water. My frenchie has sensitive skin and this product worked great on him, no issues. I don\'t like scented products. Not sure why a dog needs to smell pretty and have to smell it on themselves with those sensitive noses. This shampoo is used daily on my Yorkie\'s paws and her hair by her tail (long and silky). It removed the dirt and grit well and rinses easily. NO chemicals at all. She doesn\'t gnaw at her paws so I know it isn\'t irritating her like other shampoos. It is tearless which is a relief since washing her head is not her favourite thing-I end up soaked sometimes. I am always afraid of damaging her eyes and while this of course needs to be rinsed if it gets in her eyes, I know that the sulfates that can cause cataracts are not in this shampoo.Svelte
I recently adopted a cat from the shelter. As I was having a bath one night, I discovered she loves water! (It was fairly obvious after she jumped into the tub with me and didn't want to leave). I began bathing her with some awful-smelling grocery store products which shall remained unnamed. Having read good reviews here and elsewhere, I was looking forward to using this on my dog, who has a sensitive skin type. I used it 2 days ago, and since then, he's been itching more than normal. It built up to such a point last night that he could not sleep poor little guy was constantly scratching and moving around the house to get away from the aggravating itch. So, at 5.30 am this morning I bathed him in the last of his old shampoo, that I still luckily had to hand, and he's finally peaceful and getting some sleep after a very fretful night. I have no idea why he should have such a reaction to this product, which, after all, is supposed to be suitable for sensitive skins. I have read that Teatree oil can be dangerous to dogs and cats, and it might just have enough in it to affect some animals. Please be aware.Annjeo
I live near Philadelphia and sadly, its a 3.3hr drive each way to my nearest rural king. On a 15hr road trip to Ohio to buy a Siberian husky puppy, the locals at my hotel recommended Rural King. I wish there was a location within an hour drive of me but shipping will have to make due. I bought this product on sale in store ĺ$5.99!) And used it 2x in a week on the husky. I did use the oatmeal and coconut brand. She smells good. Spread it out on the dog then rub in. It is harder if u put handful of soap on the puppy then try to spread it. She is still thin haired and the shampoo was thick. I seen this at a chain pet store for $12.99. Definitely recommend and hope to buy again!
