10X10 Dog Kennel Home Depot For Sale (2024 Update)

We bought this in March 2022 for our 50# dog. We (2 50yo women) unpacked it from the crate it shipped in & assembled it in about an hour. We assembled it using the wall of our storage bldg as one wall so the dog would have more sqft. I love that the kennel is so versatile! It is very solid & seems like it will last quite a while. The only negative thing I can say about it is after a few rains I noticed a little rust on some of the welds. I sprayed truck bed liner on all of the welds & don't anticipate that being a issue in the future. I highly recommend this kennel. Especially at the Sam's Club pricing.Jennjenn6968

The lack of specs on the product description was unfortunate. Compared to other kennels of the same cost, it’s smaller, which is also unfortunate- I compared by cost and height to hopefully get what I believed would be a 10×15 or 10×10 (again, no specs so I was going with a similar product for the same cost and hoping theyd be the same size). Based on the pictures without measurements, it LOOKED like MAYBE it was what I was looking for. Sadly, it’s smaller, but not so small that I can’t make it work. Disappointed I’m missing out on 25 square feet of room for my doggo for the price I paid.Linasaurus

Cheaper quality fencing and poles but only wanted to add on to my existing kennel. I was short approx. 5' of fencing. This isn't the first kennel I've constructed (so I know what I am doing). Some poles were bent slightly. Not happy I was shorted the fencing. I won't buy from this seller or this brand again.B

This is a really nice dog kennel at a great value. It works well with both large breed and small breed dogs. I highly recommend this kennel. My toy breed dogs enjoy the time outside and are safe from predators.Lynn

….and that is EXACTLY what I would do, if this dog EVER slept. So far, this kennel has saved 4 lives, by providing my partner and I a safe place where our new "rescue" pup can run and play off some of his excess energy, without driving us insane. Also, our little Cocker Spaniel, who is a very dignified (and sedate) 11+ years old, just wants absolutely NOTHING to do with the new pup. N-O-T-H-I-N-G!! Which means, naturally, the pup just thinks the Cocker is his personal chew toy!! So yes, the kennel is great, the materials are of good quality, it is very sturdy, and I especially love the fact that it can be moved to different areas of the yard so the grass doesn't get killed off from the pup's potty in one spot consistently. This was a great deal for the money, and yes, I plan on buying at least one more, maybe two, depending on how huge the pup grows.SophiaL

The nuts on this product are welded and the preset screws are soft and in very tight. This made it difficult to get the screws out without stripping them. I also had problems getting one of the pipes to slide into the other because there was a small piece of metal sticking down inside the pipe. I spent about an hour trying to file that down so i could finish the assembly. So what should have taken maybe two hours, turned into a four hour project. Aside from the horrors of putting the kennel together, it serves it's purpose for my 22 lb dog. I don't know how it will withstand the weather because I've only had it two weeks. It wasn't worth $157 in my opinion.Lola

This kennel is pretty flimsy and won’t hold a large dog that is determined to get out. I used my own tie wire because the ties that were included were a joke. Luckily I only need it for my rabbits and after I made my own gate latch and blocked off the space under the gate it was great for them. I definitely wouldn’t use it for a large dog but it would probably be fine for smaller ones.Customer7373728

I purchased this 10' by 10' kennel intending to use it as a catio for my 2 cats, so they can spend time in my yard so I don't have to worry about them getting out of the yard and disappearing, but I got some chickens so now it's going to serve as their winter run, the rest of the time they'll be free ranging in the yard. Th kennels came in a large crate delivered to my yard. It took me a few days to getting around to opening it. I noticed most of the thin plastic covers were missing or broken off, and a few of the screws were missing the washer. I searched for the instruction manual for the kennel but that was missing, so I had to check online for assembly instructions. After watching a video on YouTube, I assembled the kennel on my own, but couldn't figure out how to attach the gate latch. Eventually I figure it out, but can't get it to attached without it wriggling around the bar that is attached to. There no way to lock the kennel securely with the wobbly latch. A few days later I decided to attach the roof and cover, so I opened the box and found the instructions for that, which are incredibly simplistic and not as helpful as they could have been if it had included actual written instructions instead of small sketches that barely give you an idea on how the pieces connect together. The tubing for the roof need to attach to the kennel but no where does it say how or if you have to remove the plastic caps that come inserted into the top of the tubes. I'm assuming that those plastic caps must come off so that the tubing for the roof can get attached. Not many minutes into me trying to assemble the roof tubing when I realized that 2 of the 3 tubes that are go on one side and connect to the other side of the roof tubing have the screw hole drill wrong, instead of on the bottom, the hole was drilled on top, so when connected to the tubing that go on the other side, which have the hole drilled on the bottom, they can't be connected. If I connected one side of the tubing can be connected to the kennel's tubing, while the other side of the roof tubing can't because they face up. So the only way I'll be able to install the roof and cover is to buy or borrow a drill and drill new holes on the correct spot of those tubes. So until I can get a drill the kennel will remain uncovered. The issues with this kennel and roof/cover show the company has very poor quality control issues with this product. For such an expensive product I expected better quality and assembly instructions. I am not a happy customer.Soniafm1027

I laughed at the video showing an older women putting up this kennel. It will take two people with two ladders to attach the roof frame. Another not is to the manufacturer. Directions state not to overtighten the screws. Tell your assemblers not to do this at the factory. Some screws were torqued so tight that I stripped the screw head trying to loosen it to get the parts together. Specifically the "C" parts. Some tubes have started to rust already. The fencing is a disaster. Was tangled together and took 2 hours to get it relatively normal and functional. Will never purchase from this company again.Randy

Great heavy duty Gate!! Seamless , just pull out of box and set up to the shape you need. Definitely not for any dog bigger than a yorkie or chihuahua , but could be used for puppies. I am using it for my yorkie which had 5 puppies.Jules

I was excited to receive this product for my new puppy , its pretty tall and a good diameter. However the Gate latches were too hard to open and close. other reviewers also mentioned this fault.Since the gate is what we would use to let puppy in and out and that itself is faulty i'm giving it 3 starsStlmom

I love this. It was so easy to assemble and works great as a temporary chicken coop also. I am currently using it to introduce new chickens to the flock. I most definitely will buy a few more to use after my baby ducks hatch and for my puppies while they are outside.Fluffy Butt Mommy

I love Hayneedle, but the company that made this fence should have sent instructions; and the gate should have been assembled instead of coming in different strands of wire. We never did get it together, the wires were different sizes and bent. We finally made our on wire to put on the gate. Hayneedle was very understanding about the way we received this product.Ruby

Overall good product that meets the needs of our pup. It is helpful to have more then two people to apply the chain link to the frame. Also the wire pieces provided to secure the chainlink to the frame are a heavy gauge wire, very hard to bend. We used heavy zip ties , made the job much easier /faster.SRS7503

The picture is very false. Expected it to be in panels to put together. EZ it says EZ it's not. Came in pieces including having to put frame together then wrap chain link around like putting a fence up. So it is not EZ when there is one person and a 10x 10×5 comes in a 5 by 15×12 inch box. Very, very disappointed. To return I would have to pay for $50-$100 shipping. Had to paid someone to put together. Very deceiving. Would never recommend.Linda

This kennel is a must have especially if you have an energetic puppy like I do. We use it when she gets overstimulated from playing. It’s a nice safe retreat for her. We have a powerfully built 40 pound mutt who can muscle her way out of her old crate by popping the single latched door open. We had to add an extra clip to the door to keep her in the crate, which is a pain getting the clip on and off to let her in and out. She can’t gorse the door on this crate open due to the double latches AND the extra “hook” on the tip that holds the latches in place. My little bulldozer can’t open this crate by force and go counter surfing, much to her dismay.TKettle

Got this for a large dog to recover from surgery. Not as strong as a large welded wire portable kennel. It does allow more room to stretch out than the large portable kennel. If your animal needs room to move around, this may be a good kennel. Not super sturdy. Walls will moved out since they are connected with brackets (two each panel). May not be escape proof. No attached floor. Fitted tarp cover is nice. There are no cheap kennels out there. This one was priced okay and shipped free to my door. It was packaged well.CheapTX Guy

This is an extremely sturdy kennel and of high quality. Very easy to assemble. I assembled it myself and completely finished it took me about an hour and a half. The only downside is this kennel doesn't come with anchors that go in the ground to give it that extra firm support, however it doesn't appear to need it, as the kennel is extremely sturdy without them. First a foremost, I was really upset that I had to shell out over a hundred bucks for a dog cage. But since we have a brute escape artist that kept destroying her old kennel and hurting herself during the process. With this kennel, it has stopped all escapes, no signs of giving or stress. She's made it her home even when she doesn't need to be there.it comes with removable caster wheels for easy relocation, or take them off and leave it stationary while cutting a few inches off the overall height,The door is easily removable and attaches back on in a matter of a few seconds. We were worried about the meshed ground and her getting her toes caught in it, but I comes with a removable tray that's meant for the bottom, but we placed it over and that's her floor. The tree is just a tad under 5 foot. Not a problem for our little living room. The LED lights can be very bright–but you can unplug the LED lights! It still has 8 different light mod's even with the LED's unpluged. The longer branches on the bottom will not hold heavy ornaments. Light weight ornaments and garland is fine. It really is pretty even with out ornaments. The fiber optics make it a very colorful tree, even in the day time. The LED's are to brite for our liking. Not a problem for us we just unpluged them! Hey it's a 60 dollar tree. We are happy with it. You will have to fold down all of the branches they are not hinged like some of the higher dollar trees. It filled out nice! Poor Quality, for the price of this crate I expected it to be easily put together. I had to drill new holes because they didn’t line up. The latches interfered with the closing of the door. The door was not centered correctly and required lifting to shut properly. Arrived bend.Avgjoe

I bought the medium sized kennel for my Shih Tzu. The size is perfect with plenty of room for him to play. The kennel is sturdy with an easy to operate door. The total time to assemble this kennel was about (1) hour (my husband put it together by himself). You will need something to cut the excess wire (the screws on the door need to be cut back before you can cap them off and the wires that connect the fence to the structure need to be twisted and trimmed to avoid injury). The sunshade DOES NOT cover the entire kennel. which I knew about from other reviews. I left the 2 inch gap near the door so I can stick my arm into the kennel and pet my dog while I walk by. Overall this is a great product! I highly recommend it!22Mommie22

This was simple to assemble, and sturdy. The only issues were small: two spots in the chain link fence, the wires didn't weave correctly so there were holes; and the locking mechanism on the gate is very cheap. I don't think I will use the gate mechanism because my dog could easily push it up and open the gate. All things considered, I recommend this kennel to someone who wants decent quality, and wants to save some money.Austin

I purchased the 4X6X4 Chain Link Kennel for my Flat Coated Retriever. I received it on the day it was supposed to arrive. It was packaged well. All the pieces parts were there and it is a very easy to assemble product. Myself and a friend actually had it assembled in 1/2 hour with the exception of the ties to secure the fencing. When I took it back to the store, I asked about a discount and received 15% off (the tax). I had previously bought one that was marked down by 50% because the box was damaged. I was quite disappointed in the whole experience. Apparently the merchandise was supposed to be checked if the box was damaged and that wasn’t done in this case.Janice

I've owned dogs for the last 40 years. I've used MidWest wire crates for my last 4 dogs. This iCrate didn't disappoint. It's sturdy and and easy to put up and take down. I use them when I travel with my dogs too. My dogs only use their crates for sleeping in at night or napping in during the day. During the day, their crate doors are left open. I close the dogs in at night. I don't have an issue with my dogs trying to escape from their crates, so I can't speak to whether or not this would be sturdy enough for a dog that's determined to get out of their crate. These crates are more than sturdy enough for my miniature Schnauzer, Havanese, and Wirehaired Pointing Griffon. All three of my dogs love their MidWest iCrates, as did my previous dog! They go in them voluntarily and when told to "crate up". My only concern with the current crate I ordered is that that one of the latches isn't lined up quite right so it's a bit tight when closing the crate door. I bent it slightly and it works much better. I haven't had that issue with any of the previous MidWest crates I've used. I'm a MidWest crate fan.Eddie09

He was a Parvo pup and barely survived, so rest and his own quiet space was highly recommended for recovery. We first used the divider which was great. However, as he grew, so did his strength. It definitely is not strong enough for large dogs. Even for short amounts of time. At the moment he is 6 months and 60 pounds. Thankfully he did not get out nor hurt himself! I wish I could share photos of how bent up this crate is and the cracked floor liner. IWifeMomLove

IT ONLY WORKS WITH CERTAIN 10 BY 10 BY 6 FEET DOG KENNEL MAINLY LUCKY DOG BRAND. I SHOULD SEND IT BACK. I CALLED THE THE SELLER BUT DID NOT GET A RETURN CALL. I purchased this product and the Aleko 10'x10' frame to compare and the Alexo was far superior in quality. The tubing in the Lucky Dog kit is not as thick and attaches to one another with small screws on a short male-female joint which can allow flexing in high winds if not additionally supported. The Alexo tubing was thicker metal in diameter and attached with a long male-female joint for each junction. I was also disappointed that the default description used for this product on this site (and many others I checked) doesn't discuss how the roof attaches to the kennel. All it indicates is that it is only compatible with the Lucky Dog kennel. No photos of the frame are provided, only photos of it covered by the tarp. My kennel is a standard chain link kennel with rounded corners on each panel, and the attachments truly are not compatible. The Aleko kit came with standard chain link fence clamps making it much more universal. It's on me for not just believing that it was 'only compatible with Lucky Dog brand', but it would have been nice for the photos and/or description to show/describe the frame better. Extremely hard to put together. No support. Frame would collapse every time we moved it. Holes didn't line up for the screws so we had to drill new ones. The frame just rests up on top of the kennel. No secure way of attaching it. My husband attached poles (which we had) to each corner for support. Something for the frame poles to slide into. What should've taken us a 1/2 hour to install, took us almost 2 hours! But to be fair, we installed the frame just in time before inclement weather hit our area. Damaging tornado-like winds, rain and hail sent us fleeing to the basement. Afterwards, we went outside to check for damage. Low and behold the frame was still standing! That was only because my husband took extra precautions. If not, it would have been a mangled mess.Debra

screw off with your one hour and 2 people. had I know how bad it was to do this we would have ordered from somewhere else with it fully assembled. its in pieces and takes HOURS and many people to put together. we are on hour 4 hours and its still not done.Stacey

Extremely disappointed. Did not come with the parts package. Nobody will answer the phone or call back for Walmart or me to have the parts package sent to me. Now I have to send back the parts I did get and I will not get my refund until they receive the parts back. Save yourself the headache and order from somewhere else.kayla

Great product; sturdy and value-priced. Assembly manual is minimal; may be confusing to some. Packaging is minimal; no cushioning materials inside cardboard box resulted in some bent panels during shipment, but I was able to straighten them out. However, I and my puppy are pleased with the purchase.Henry
