Nice doorbell camera with good clear hd quality picture. Easy to install with wired or wireless options. The wired option means only wired for power, the other connections are wireless. Wireless option uses an internal rechargeable battery for power. The wired option is mainly for people replacing an existing doorbell. The instructions say 16-24 VAC so you should check your existing doorbell button voltage to see if it might work. Otherwise you can use the wireless option using the built in battery. Not sure if they may mean 16-24 volts DC but the website's instructions say AC. I had an existing doorbell but it didn't work and had no voltage at the button so I just used the Wyze with the wireless configuration using it's battery and it works fine. You supposedly only have to charge it about once every six months and it's easy to remove for charging as long as you save the included torx screwdriver or have your own. I say it's easy to install but it may be harder if you have a brick house and have to install it in brick. My house is brick but was already drilled for my existing doorbell so it was still easy for me too. Nice app with many features and supports other wyze devices as well. Decent variety of chime sounds (with hopefully more coming) the chime gets fairly loud with adjustable volume. Also chimes at the doorbell and in the app. Good motion detection with adjustable range and zone. Good sound detection, I could hear insects and birds chirping through the app that I seldom hear when I'm actually outside. Affordable subscription service available but not required for basic functions. It's supposed to give you even more stuff as well as better cloud storage options. I haven't subscribed yet so I don't know exactly what you get with it but it's there if you want to try it. I like it so far, it seems pretty good and it's nice to be able to look outside in the app without having to actually go out especially at night or in bad weather. This is a decent camera and it’s better than having nothing on your door at all. I think it falls short in 3 ways: 1) The video quality isn’t great and the color is often inaccurate. Everything is shaded purple in the stills for some reason. Night time shots are okay if someone is directly in front of the camera and they are well lit. Aside from that you’re not likely to get anything usable. 2) The motion detection either works too well or not at all. When it does work, it’s often too delayed. Sometimes it will pick up garbage trucks driving by, other times someone will already be in the apartment before the camera takes a shot. People will walk by and the only shot with them in it will be their foot exiting frame at the beginning of the stitch. 3) It is wifi connected and the app is pretty good but lately the amount of time it takes for the images to load on the app makes it unusable. It can take several minutes or more for the images to load which is an eternity if you have someone waiting at your door. Other than that, you get a decent product for $25. I like the chime and the two built in ringtones are pleasant. The battery operation and 3M sticker make it really convenient to set up. I had someone attempt to break in my house and the images were awful. at first i thought it was great its easy setup so easy.. but constantly needing to sync with chime and going off line. We are happy with this item. The only thing I wished it could do is have the access to live vew video feed instead of just short picture clips. Also a 2 way speaker would be grate for this exact device for faster communication. Otherwise it works for a miner purpose. Would love to see these 2 improvements. One more thing, Activity history vew should allow full access for free. Many people like my self can't afford the upgrade purches and being able to vew more then 24 hours is a must for something like this. I thing the upgrad should only consist with being able to contact authoritie. I hope to see these improvements, would definitely buy and recommend to others.Brextin

I looked at lots of reviews for many different doorbell cameras. There are pluses and minuses for all of them. Since I've had great luck with Blink indoor cameras and their price is very affordable, I decided to give the Blink doorbell camera a try. It was very easy to install and is very intuitive to use. I'm really impressed! I had it wired in so that it would ring the existing chime in the house. You have to go into the app to make that work after the wiring is connected, so if you wire it in and it doesn't work right away, that's probably why. It has a wide field of view, so I get an alert when someone walks up to my door and also if someone turns toward my garage, which is perpendicular to my entrance. There may be cameras that are more sophisticated or with more impressive technical specifications in one aspect or another, but this camera is completely adequate for my purposes. It produces good, clear video and reliable alerts, and the price is lower than any of its competitors. I'm very happy with this purchase.NYNewfies

The Blink Video Doorbell is a very nice device with easy installation and setup, and great integration with the Amazon Alexa ecosystem. In the box are the doorbell/camera assembly, mounting plate, two Energizer Lithium AAA batteries, and hardware, including mounting screws and anchors, wire nuts, and spare screws for the wiring connection. I am really impressed with the inclusion of the Energizer Lithium batteries. They're very good batteries that should last for a long time. Setup is as simple as downloading the Blink Home Monitor App (Apple App Store, Google Play Store, & Amazon Appstore), setting up an account, and following the in app instructions. Blink does require both email and phone number verification, but the verification codes come quickly and these layers add more security to your account. To mount the doorbell, turn off the power to your doorbell transformer, then use the enclosed template to pre-drill the two screw holes, attach the wires to the baseplate, screw the baseplate to the wall, and snap the doorbell onto the baseplate. Turn the power back on. That's it. Super easy! Alexa integration is accomplished by enabling the Blink Smarthome skill in the Alexa App on your smartphone, and linking your Blink and Amazon accounts. I once purchased an excellent video doorbell but the first issue I had was that the only angle I could install it was not ideal. That was because of where the wiring was located and the stone frame, which makes it very difficult to rewire anything. But I didn’t have that problem with the Blink Video Doorbell as it allowed me to skip the wires and install exactly where I needed it. Whenever possible, wiring is preferable because you don’t have to worry about batteries running out. Blin gives you that flexibility. It was so easy to install, and you can have it up and running in minutes after you download the app and follow the instructions. Because you’re not forced to subscribe for their service and you can save the videos locally, this makes the Blink doorbell even more enticing. Just be aware that you need the Sync Module 2 for that but I couldn’t find much that I didn’t like. Video quality is 1080p, which is excellent for a doorbell. The two-way audio works well and so far, it has not disconnected or produced subpar images even under low light conditions, which are much better than I expected for a product that is not considered high end. A lot of modern features such as zone or masking are available, and they work well. The only missing feature here is facial recognition. I personally like that feature but many people don’t. So, you may see that as either negative or positive. For this review, I consider it negative. Doorbell camera has great sound and video. I love that I can monitor who is at my front door, and when my packages are left at the front door. I feel much safer knowing I have eyes out my door. We have used ring doorbells for YEARS and after receiving this I was sceptical about installing it and how difficult it was going to be BUT after jumping in and seeing how super easy installation was I am sooo happy I did. I did it all by myself and the app was super easy to navigate, similar to the ring so if your familiar with it then your halfway there already. The sensitivity is adjustable and it's very responsive! I like having some added protection to my home with being able to see who is at my front door. Installing the video bell was a bit painful, mostly due to the wiring on my new house, but we finally got it setup and installed, we used the mechanical chime as well which was a breeze. Installing the app and adding the device was very simple. The features I really love are the night vision, everything so clear and two way audio to talk to the person at the door. Other features include the live video, video recording and even ability to take a photo. The motion detection is a great feature but it is very sensitive, a bee flies by and it goes off. I also wish it came with a better angled wall mount, positioning this is not as good as I would of liked it to be. You also have cloud storage and this is weatherproof. I’ve had one previous experience with a video doorbell, and this experience was and continues to be, much better. I especially like the fact that there is a choice on whether it be wired to an existing doorbell system, or wire-free. My previous video doorbell was wired, and this set up was easier, as I chose the wireless route. You download the Blink Monitor App, follow the quick and easy step-by-step instructions both within the app and on the box, and away you go. In no time at all I was testing out the various features and video setup. You also have a choice to link the doorbell to your Amazon account/Alexa; while I do have an Amazon account, I chose not to link it and everything still works as needed. (You do have to create a Blink account within its app.) Everything can be controlled via the app, to customize notifications and alerts. You can see who’s at the door instantly, and choose to be notified when the doorbell is pressed, when motion is detected, if the temperature of the camera is out of range, and also choose to be alerted if the doorbell has low battery, if the camera is offline, and if the whole system is offline. There is two-way audio so you can communicate with whomever is at the door, and the sound is clear. The HD video is also crisp and clear. My husband and I have the app set up on both of our iPhones, and we set up an older iPhone in our kitchen to be used purely as a monitor for the system as well. You can also set up an Amazon Echo Show to be a monitor, too. There is also an option to subscribe to a Cloud service that will store your pics/video for a certain period of time, depending on how much you’re willing to spend per month. Or, as I chose, you can use local storage on a USB drive via the Sync Module, which has a USB-A port. I really like this option—and being given the choice—of whether to utilize a subscription service, or simply to supply my own storage. The Blink Video Doorbell and Sync Module are pretty slick. Mounting hardware is included in the box. If you live in an apartment like me and don’t want to put holes in walls or door frames, no mounting tape is included. I picked up some double-sided tape on the cheap and it has worked great thus far. Once mounted, the camera can be connected to existing doorbell wiring and make your home chime go off, or it can be connected wirelessly to your home WiFi network. It runs off of two AA batteries that can allegedly last up to two years. I honestly doubt this. Once paired in the Blink App, you will receive a push notification when the doorbell is pressed. The camera will also take a video of who is/ was at your door. Two way audio is available in the app if you need to speak to the person at your door. You can set the camera to detect motion and record video clips between 5 and 30 seconds in length. This is a great feature for when you aren’t home. Video quality is honestly pretty good. I can make out faces and audio clearly. Keep in mind what I said previously though. I live in an apartment. This means the camera is in an environment with consistent lighting/ no wind conditions. I’ve seen other reviews mention that the camera struggles with direct sunlight, so be cautious in that regard. Positioning may be important. A couple other things I would like to note about the camera. Getting the back cover on is a bit of a challenge. You have to push very hard and slip it over a single clip at the bottom. This does make it very secure once it’s on, but be patient with it. Maybe look up a video if you’re struggling. I also wasn’t able to find much information on what weather conditions this thing can withstand. Obviously doorbells go on the exterior of homes, but does that automatically mean it’s water resistant or waterproof? There is a silicone seal on the back cover so I’m going to assume it’s at least water resistant. I also haven’t been able to find much info on ideal operating temperature. I live in the Midwest and am a little concerned about the freezing months. Not an issue now, but could be once I am actually living in a house. TBD. Amazon’s Blink products have made home security products accessible. Hardware is reasonably priced and quality is good overall. The Blink App is free to download and a monthly fee is not required to see a live view of your cameras. However, if you’d like recordings saved to the cloud, you can purchase a storage plan. Check Amazon for what plans are available and pricing. Keep in mind you will need an Amazon account for these subscription services. The Sync Module can communicate with your cameras and has a USB-A port which allows for local storage of recordings. I don’t believe a subscription is required to store videos locally. The app itself is easy to navigate and allows you to check in on your cameras from anywhere in the world, so long as you have an internet connection. Other Amazon products with screens (i.e. Echo Show) can be used to display live feeds. Portal devices that are connected to your Amazon account are also compatible. When I'm reading a review, I don't like to read a bunch of hot air. Let's get right down to business. The good: – CHEAP peace of mind. I can't believe how affordable this kind of tech is getting. – Easy to connect to your wifi and set up. – If you have a total tech membership, they will install it for free. – Looks pretty sleek for something very affordable. – Compact size makes it barely noticeable in a lot of instances. I had it installed and when I arrived back home and saw it for the first time I had a hard time even noticing it at night. This could be a positive or negative depending on how you look at it. For example, many people WANT people to know they're being watched to deter them… if that's your priority, this would be a negative. If you want something discrete and not gaudy, this is a very good choice. The bad: – Video quality is really, really bad unless the subject is VERY close. However, at this price level, one would probably expect this. – A lot of false positives(roughly 7-10 per day), BUT, I have not done any additional tinkering as far as the zones and sensitivity go as of yet. So take this with a grain of salt. For what it's worth, I live on a street that doesn't get a lot of traffic, so 7-10 is probably literally everything that passes. We love our Blink Video Doorbell with Sync Module 2! It has amazing picture and I'm really digging how we're able to chit chat with anyone who approaches our door from anywhere… that's right, since the notification comes on my phone I can answer my door from anywhere! Now that is cool. You can hook it up with wire or go like we did and opt for wireless. The module allows for more and you can hear the doorbell anywhere in the home since you can be some distance from it and also have up to 2 years of battery life. That's just a couple features but there's more. It has 1080p HD day and infrared night video and 2- way audio, works with Alexa so you can access live view, receive motion alerts, two-way talk and you can arm and disarm your doorbell and much more! I really like this doorbell! Pros: 1) It’s pretty easy to setup (see cons). 2) I like that you have have to have a subscription. You can just plug a USB into the sync box. 3) It’s motion censored. Although, sometimes it’s comes up as the person is walking away. 4) The night view on the camera is actually pretty good too. 5) I like the notifications on my phone. 6) I like that it does sync with my Amazon account, so I can add the subscription if I ever want too. Cons: 1) I made the mistake of reading through the installation directions before my dad was setting it up. The directions disappear after you click through them. I looked all over the app and even googled a little and couldn’t find the directions again. 2) It’s not for someone who isn’t tech savvy. I was looking specifically for an all- or mostly- white video bell, but I’m also thrifty, so I wanted local the storage option. Blink was on super Black Friday sale, so gave it a try. Immediately I had some mixed feelings: 1) solid build and feel, nice looks. 2) works with existing mechanical chime (1950s) and I could even manipulate length of the chiming. 3) App was intuitive. 4) mounting unnecessarily finicky; sliced my knuckle open trying to force the device down into the track, when it refused and gave out. 5) because couldn’t get to “click” (many many tries), not completely weatherproof and easy for a burglar to pop off if they so wanted. 6) Module requirement inconvenient, but whatever. After living with it for 4 weeks, experiencing many issues (below), having it and module replaced for free, then still experiencing all the same issues, and finally comparing directly to a competitor, I conclude the Blink doorbell is simply not ready for prime time: 7) Video resolution subpar and audio is absolutely terrible. Intermittent high pitched warbling/interference, like a freight train riding its brakes, pervaded every video. Audio would cut out altogether for seconds at a time. 8) Live video feed took 10 or more seconds to pull up, even if I were at home on the same network. Made it impossible to catch anyone for two-way talk. 9) clips very rarely recorded for the time I had set. Set to 20, 25, 30- didn’t matter; only recorded people (important) for a few seconds but would give me a car going by plus 28 seconds of nothing. This was easily its most damning failure. 10) No previewing in notifications list like with my other camera (much older tech from Costco). 11) any doorbell press interrupted recording so would not get a full video. 12) awful “Continue?” Prompt in live feed which didnt respond if phone was landscape 13) significant halo effect blurred the night vision 14) zones did not work. Had street blocked out, but still recorded cars anyway if sensitivity was anything above a 5 (out of 9). 15) low battery alert after only 3.5 weeks. Mind you, this was all on the trial premium subscription, and the same results observed on two brand new sets of the doorbell+module. Theoretically the “performance” would get even worse once off the trial and shifted to local (but outdated) USB-A. As for Blink support: the team once effectively handled my call, a few times made me wait 15 or so minutes only for me to hear “all agents busy, please try again later, goodbye! *CLICK*,” and once an agent answered but then hung up on me before I finished my first sentence. Mixed but mostly frustrating bag there. I then bought a Nest Doorbell (battery) to make sure I wasn’t shortchanging the Blink. In a direct comparison—same location, network (and 2.4 band), direct wiring, etc etc—no issues AT ALL with the Nest. Feed comes up right away, videos clearer, and clips actually record for more than a few seconds, and capture the entire even from walk-up to walk-away… you know, like they’re supposed to. It is a real shame this product didn’t deliver basic functionality enough to be worth even the Black Friday price that I paid.Ehhh

The unit seems well made, The snack holder well and does a good job attracting their attention to the bell during training. The unit's sound volume is adjustable. The only thing I can find to say negative is both units need "line-of-sight" with each other to keep the wireless signal with each other. Overall we like the design and function.dewman40

Bought today, it’s been online solid for 7hrs now, less than a 20min install with no special tools. I have other merkury brand devices already installed and love them all. Literally popped old doorbell switch off, cut wires, everything you need is in box minus a flat head and Phillips screw driver and maybe some strippers or a knife if you cut wires like I did. installed the flat base plate only (also comes with an angled adapter) inserted a memory card, connected wires, launched app, selected cam, showed doorbell the generated QR code on phone, chimed and accepted settings and came online instantly. Set some basic sensitivity settings and done. The product includes everything in the box except basic hand tools, seamlessly integrates with my app. You do need to ensure you have a 2.4ghz wifi and not a 5ghz only, manual states 18-24vac doorbell system, mine is running about 11.2vac and works fine. Packaging is beautiful for less than $50us, instruction manual is clear and precise, great product, just like the quality I expected from the expierence with their other devices. The only tiny little glitch I had was getting the security screw in due to the brick on front door being so close to doorbell, other than that, piece of cake install. I gave $49 and change at local Wally World for it, all functions of a RING for less than 1/2 the cost. Currently I run 10 merkury bulbs and 6 outlets, 4 inside, 2 outside, out of all these devices only 1 inside outlet has ever given me issues but a simple reset fixed it. You get what you pay for. It's not stellar, but it does the job. Installation was a little difficult, since they include a connector kit that didn't fit behind our existing doorbell configuration. I had to drill some holes in the wall to make things fit. So if you're existing doorbell mounts flush to the wall (like ours did), expect some drilling. If you're trying to attach it to a brick wall, you might be out of luck. The HD video lags really bad. They should probably just turn this off. It's the default setting, and simply doesn't work. Switched to SD video, and it works ok. Delay is enough that it's hard to have a conversation through the doorbell, but I mostly just wanted the video feed to watch for porch pirates, so good enough.David

I purchased this video doorbell because I have previous experience with the Merkury wifi outlet plugs and the Geeni App. I didn't want to put another app on my phone to control another device. The installation went ok. I have a manual doorbell and I checked the voltage. The app worked well with the video doorbell. What I really like is you can set the area to view to send an alarm. You can also schedule the alarm. I set the video area to view my truck parked out front. I set the alarm for late night, early morning so if someone goes near my truck it will activate and send an alert. It will also record about a minute prior to the event so you can see what happened that led up to the alarm. The only problem I had was installing the Chime Adaptor. The instructions are basic and I installed it correctly. The thing was I didnt know what the Chime Adaptor was. I thought it was to activate the manual doorbell. After much frustration I finally figured out that the Chime Adaptor is a resistor. The video doorbell needs a closed circuit to operate. If the circuit is constantly closed at full voltage the manual chime doorbell will activate constantly and let off a buzzing sound. Once the Chime Adaptor/resistor is installed it will reduce the voltage to the manual chime. I have also discovered that once the resistor is installed and the video doorbell button is pushed the manual door chime not be as powerful because probably the amount of voltage reaching the chime is reduced. I think this is why other reviewers report their chime does not ring as loud as it did without the video doorbell. Overall, I am very pleased with this video doorbell.Brian

I like the doorbell in most respects but network connection is problematic. My AD410 device is powered by an appropriate doorbell transformer and is just 12 ft from an unobstructed access point with a "good" signal (per the Smart Home software). The network connection drops multiple times per hour for (usually) brief periods. While "disconnected" the device does not respond to a ping and has no open ports. Initial iOS set up of the doorbell was also a problem. I was able to connect to the device hot spot and enter my network information but the transition to my network failed repeatedly. I was eventually able to complete the setup by using the Dahua DSS software to complete the network connection part of the setup. (I found this solution online from others having the same problem with setup.)Kirk

My challenges with the doorbell stems more-so from the app than the doorbell itself. I'll speak more about this later. The doorbell itself is great. The features it has is very useful. The 2K resolution along with night vision provides great quality video footage with the ability to see people clearly. The HDR capability is a great addition as well. Not to mention the ability to have multiple (up to 3) zones for motion and human detection. The ability to detect humans only is a great feature which limits the amount of notifications and recording to be done. Considering this feature is built into the device and can still be used "offline" is a huge plus when comparing to other doorbells. The ability to use all these features, store recordings locally and stream RTSP with no limit or subscription requirement is why I bought the doorbell in the first place. As for the app. The app is easy to navigate and use with quick access to necessary settings or toggles. But the user experience still requires some improvement. For example, when the doorbell is rung, there is a significant enough delay for the feed to start showing live. The delay is enough to render the feature useless because by the time the feed has loaded, the person has walked away. The whole purpose of a smart doorbell is to be able to communicate with visitors, and without the ability to do so, it makes it difficult to recommend for people looking for this important feature. On that note, if the doorbell ring notification could trigger as a pop-up, call or a live-view notification with the ability to answer from the notification to initiate the "call", that would improve the experience as well. (Essentially, the same experience and speed that Nest provides) Same issue for when the human/motion detection is triggered. When clicking on the notification, it tries to pull the recording (which is still recording so it won't play for up to another 30 seconds). So now I have to click "Show Live View" which takes an additional click and loading time. So once again, by the time it loads, whatever was detected is now gone and I now must wait for the actual recording. Rather, if it automatically showed the live view (if the "event" is still occurring), it would save time and be more convenient. Additionally, for notifications, although the ability is there to attach an image to the notification, its barely viewable and hard to see. If this could also be provided with the option to be a "pop-up" notification, that would be nice and useful. So hardware wise, the doorbell is great. It comes packed with many features and holds the ability to be a great doorbell. But software wise, the user experience needs improvement. If the listed issues above could be resolved, I'd be very happy with the product. As of now, with these features lacking, I'm providing the product with 3 stars. I bought this food 2 weeks ago because my dog has been picky about her food for months now. I have tried Hills Science, Purina Pro, Blue Buffalo – all puppy dry food. I think she really doesn’t like the chicken taste so I thought I’d try something different. From the start when I was phasing out the old food with the new she was way more interested in eating. She also stopped biting her arms which I thought was due to a seasonal allergy but now think it was actually a food allergy. I’m really satisfied with the food! We’ve been feeding Taste of the Wild Appalachian for small dogs for about a year now after switching to about 10 different brands. He loves it. The kibble is small, and the food is palatable and healthy. I wish the small kibble was available in fish and sweet potato too, but this has some fish in it. It’s a great choice in food for a very picky little dog. Now if he would only stop chewing his feet. This is new and been going on for about a year or so. Installation of the Wyze Doorbell Cam is extremely simple. I was surprised how small the package was which includes the doorbell itself, mounting hardware, angled mounting plate and chime. However, the unit being so compact there is NO space behind the unit. Most of the doorbells I have ever taken apart have NO space in the wall to push the wires back into. So the wiring that most video doorbells provide you with have no where to be tucked into unless you use a spacer or in this case the angled spacer. Though I did not plan to use the spacer it ended up working in favor of where it was being placed. There is a white pillar which would cause a considerable amount of IR splashback under night vision if the camera was installed straight forward. With the angled spacer it moves the pillar out of frame and it provides enough space to tuck the excess wires away. It is unfortunate that the Wyze system does not allow for the existing door chime to be utilized in conjunction with the included electronic chime NOR can you pair additional chimes for other floors in the home. The argument can be made that if the phone is on you then you would be notified, but if you use Do Not Disturb mode or regularly leave the phone on Silent, then you don't get the notifications. The chime was placed centrally in the home, but can barely be heard in the basement. There is a decent selection of chimes/tones available, but it is electronic, seems like being able to use custom chimes should be a given. But then again, I have not seen any smart doorbell that allows this. Hardware installation took no more than 20 mins. Software setup was even quicker. I was up and running in under 30mins. Though I have now installed more than 5 various models of video doorbells and they keep getting easier. I have noticed that there is a delay between a visitor actually ringing the bell and connecting to the camera which is a little disappointing. And conversing with someone at the door takes time due to this delay. However, I wanted the video doorbell to be able to monitor what was happening at my front door through the day and keep an eye on my packages or any wouldbe porch pirates trying to pillage my goodies. Clarity in both day and night have been what I have come to expect from Wyze. In that regard it works for me. Although I would have liked to see the ability to use a MicroSD card like the other Wyze Cams to review footage without cloud. Considering price, ease of installation and use I'd say this product is a great basic video doorbell and have already recommended to several neighbors who want something simple without having to subscribe to yet another service.WSohn

In my particular case I’m using the wired Wyze Video Doorbell as part of a security system on a secondary residence that could be vacant for an extended period of time, so a replaceable battery might fail unexpectedly. Of course, there are other features to also consider when selecting a video doorbell system. To get good results the phone should show a Wi-Fi signal (NOT Cell signal) of at least 3 bars. I could not get my Wyze outside button unit to hold the signal reliably, until I moved my cell provider’s modem in the house closer to the front door. This may not be possible for some homes, so I recommend you test your front door’s Wi-Fi signal strength before purchasing this otherwise great system. CONCLUSION: A good choice for homes with a relatively strong Wi-Fi signal at the outside door area.Daddio

So after a warehouse mix-up, I finally received my WYZE Video Doorbell. I have always admired the WYZE home camera products and was anxiously awaiting it to arrive. Upon unboxing the package, you'll find inside: * Wyze Video Doorbell * Chime Box * Horizontal Wedge * Mounting Screws & Instructions To begin, you must first figure out which line your doorbell runs off of at your breaker box. Nine times out 10, it's probably not labeled on the breaker box, however, it's very important that you find the correct line to ensure you don't electrocute or at the very least shock yourself. After trial and error (and running back and forth downstairs to my garage/basement), I found the correct line my doorbell was connected too. Once I figured that out, I was able to remove the cover to the indoor chime box of original doorbell and disconnected the wires to bypass the chime box inside. After completing that step, I begin disconnecting my old doorbell outside my front door (which honestly needed to be changed due to the sun dry-rotting it out). Next, I began installing the horizontal wedge in place of the old doorbell and connecting the wires to the back of the video doorbell. However, I hit a snag and had to unscrew and move the wedge to the left about a half inch due to installing it too closely to my door frame. After getting it installed, simply plug the chime into a outlet inside your house and connect the Wyze Video Doorbell to your Wyze account if you already have one. If not, just download the app from the App Store for iOS or Google Play Store for Android. Getting the camera to sync was kinda a pain though not a deal breaker because once you get it setup partially in the app, you're given and QR Code that you then have to use the camera to scan the QR Code before you can move on the the next step. I wish there was a better way to sync them up because this took me about 10 minutes or so. I started to get a little frustrated but I kept at it. Finally after getting it synced up, I was able to finish setting it up through the app and checked from firmware updates. Overall it took me a little longer installing the Video Doorbell but part of that was because I've never attempted anything like this before, so I took my time, and also trying to figure out what line it was connected to at the breaker box, and lastly trying to get it synced up. After getting everything squared away, I was thoroughly impressed with the ease of the app in setting the camera to your liking as well as the included chimes that you can setup on the camera. Features that I love is the 2-way audio, night vision, the overall picture quality, the continuous live streaming, and the detection zone. A fantastic battery powered camera with clear images and great night vision. Ring sets the standard for consumer video surveillance and is a leader in providing a platform for a community awareness. While video does not stop the bad things from happening but, it can deter crimes of opportunity and lets you know what happened on a bad day. I like everything hardwired and was skeptical about using a battery powered unit. I was wrong, the battery life is insane. After a week of use I was still at 93% charge. The peephole camera was easy to install. Not only can you view the images on your mobile device, you have a physical peephole that works regardless of power and wifi. The software is user friendly, feature packed and you can set it up on multiple devices. Phone notifications seamlessly connect you to the device with audio and video. All the bases are covered, it can detect motion, understand knocking and has a doorbell button. You can turn on and off detections and set zones that meet your needs. There are so many great things that I’ll just say believe the hype. I am going to focus on an issue that I didn’t think about when getting the device. I have a screen door with a glass insert that obscures the cameras view if it gets foggy from the cold weather outside or droplets of water on it when it rains. If you are getting it to protect your deliveries, maybe consider the external mounted doorbell version. This one is great for people that like to use peepholes and want to monitor people entering and exiting. When motion is detected, it will record inside the house as the door is opened. I absolutely love this ring doorbell. It has saved me some time going back-and-forth to the front door. You can talk to people through The app when someone rings the doorbell. It is very customizable to your needs. You can connect it to Alexa. My favorite thing is there’s no drilling necessary because he just remove the peephole and replace it with the doorbell. Installation for me was less than five minutes.  and I purchase an extra battery through Amazon so it’s always charged. When I was looking for a doorbell camera I had a few specific qualities that I was looking for. I already have a swann security camera so that was one of the brands that I was looking at. After trial and error the Swann video doorbell was my favorite for a variety of reasons. This system comes with a chime unit speaker with six different melodies to notify you in house if someone is there. It is either wire free or wired depending on your situation and you can use your existing doorbell wiring to power it. It also has two way talk so you can talk with somebody at the front door or warn any intruder. It comes with a 32 GB SD card which saves clips for you locally or on the cloud. True detect works good in sensing a persons heat & motion and I haven’t had any false flags yet. The video quality is crystal clear as it displays 1080P resolution. It’s got a 180° viewing angle and a 1:1 aspect ratio to allow you to see better. It works with Google or Alexa hands-free so that you can control it and speak to it a little easier. You do get some for deterrent stickers which is sometimes half the battle of scaring intruders away. The unit recharges quickly and stays active for a long period of time. It’s very attractive and looks good on the front of your home with a sleek black color and high tech look. Very easy to setup. Instructions are easy to follow. Although it says to charge the device but it seemed fully charged when we got it, but I charged it overnight just in case. Installing the app was easy. Also, setup to wifi was easy. To install, I ended up using the sticky tape to hang the fixture because I didn't want to drill holes, it is so far staying on well. The ringer needs 2 AA which comes included. Sometimes it can be a little delayed with the motion detector and ringer to my phone. But every time it detects motion it will record for like 10 seconds on the app so you can look back on it. The app is very easy to use, it even has an alarm on it that you can do from your phone…I guess to scare people away. The quality of video is pretty good and it defaults to low quality. That is what I have been using and that looks good enough for me. It goes from night vision to day depending on the quality of light. Although, I tried all qualities of video and it doesn't seem to change. Actually, some of the settings don't seem to work. Overall this is a pretty cool system. We never had a ring or anything before. A couple months ago we had a dingdong ditcher at 1am in the morning so it is nice to have video now of our porch and door.Carinac

When I was updating the doorbell, more than 70 alerts appeared on my phone one after the other. >> About Doorbell: Battery drains fast, invalid/unnecessary motion alerts. When you get an alert on your phone that someone has rung the doorbell, the app takes a while to open. The Doorbell shouldn't be called WIFI, it should be called "next to the router", the signal will only be 100% if you are the device is glued to the router, a few meters away (in a free area) you will only have 50% of signal. The first email I sent informing that the VNR was missing the 1TB Storage, they did not respond until today, but on the website, they removed the information that the NVR has 1TB storage. Installation was easy as my doorbell transformer was within specs. Initial setup takes a little time as the unit will start to download updates once initially powered on. As per Ring support give it an hour or two to be fully functional. The picture and video quality is perfect and is true 1080p. The sound quality is not as good as there seems to be some feedback noise. There is some latency when motion video is recorded and takes a minute or two to view those videos on the ring server. App notifications work fine almost all the time but push notifications on my phone seem intermittent at times. Overall, I am very happy with the performance and extra piece of mind with the Ring Doorbell Pro. I am on the ring monthly plan to maximize all features of this doorbell and ring security system.Richard

Don’t buy Ring Doorbell. This product has known flaws by the company, and they refuse to do anything to fix the product. Do not buy Ring Doorbell if you live in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Parts of New York, Iowa, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho, Alaska, All Canada, Upper Illinois, Ohio, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and anywhere else in the world where the temperature gets cold. 10 Degree or colder and Ring Doorbell will not work. I called Ring Doorbell and they said their batteries do not work in the cold and they refuse to do anything to address the problem. They tell you your just out of luck wait until the temperature warms up and the Ring Doorbell should work again. Also, the battery should charge when wired to your old doorbell, but it doesn’t. Ring doorbell says you must bring the battery inside and charge the battery because it won’t charge if hard wired to your existing doorbell. What a poorly designed product. Ring Doorbell should be held accountable for selling a known defective and poor product that they know will not work if it gets cold. They should not be allowed to sell the product in any of the states listed above since they know the product will not work when it gets cold. Ring partially works It missed people walking across my lawn. There is a delay in notification. Worse is their communication with others. You are supposed to be able to contribute to the community by notifying neighbors around you of criminal acts. I have posted no trespassing signs and no soliciting signs on my door. I had people pass these signs and criminally trespass. They had no car on the street or other vehicle to denote that they had legitimate business at my property. I’ve caught them walking from house to house past the no trespassing signs in both directions and knocking on the door with a no soliciting sign. I reported the event and ring customer support stated that it violated their guidelines and would refuse to post. I asked them to review the following below document page for section 5. They still refused to post the document. The persons passing through my property are guilty of criminal trespassing which is a misdemeanor and carries a $50-$500 fine. What is the use of a security cam video if you cannot share this with others. It is useful for speaking to people that you would like to communicate with; however, as for security you never get adequate view of the persons face and if they are stealing off your porch or breaking and entering someone can easily destroy the cam and you will lose all footage. I would recommend for security purposes putting up continual monitoring cameras and not purchasing ring. I purchased two ring doorbells, two indoor cameras and two spotlight cameras. I have had nothing but issues with the spotlight camera. It started with a notification that the battery door was open. After several conversations with ring support and them trying to tell me that it’s ok the camera is working just fine. I told them it obviously isn’t ok because I’m still getting a notification the battery door is open. So they sent me a replacement spotlight camera, however it was refurbished and the battery door was falling off. So again with Ring support. I told them I didn’t want a refurbished camera because I didn’t purchase a refurbished camera. So they again sent a replacement new camera and again with the battery door open notification. So back again with support and they sent me another replacement and again it’s refurbished! I am ready to take everything ring off of my house and send it all back! This is not what I expected from Ring! Very disappointed and I wouldn’t recommend the ring product to anyone. Let’s see if they can actually get it together and send me a new spotlight camera that works!Darren LeCorchick

Great device works as expected no monthly fees stores video clips on onboard sd card. Remote viewing is easy through app and also through Smart PSS on laptop.Walter
