We had previously bought and installed a medium sized through-wall door from Petco, and our Pugs loved it; but now we have a 4 month old Bull Mastiff puppy who is already 40lbs., and was almost struggling to get in and out of the medium sized door. The answer was simple: upgrade to a LARGE size door, and now our fuzzy kids go flying through it without even slowing down…even the Bull Mastiff. It's hilarious!! We expect her to grow to around 125Lbs. and 24" tall at the shoulders, and we aren't sure what we'll do at THAT point, but we have a year or so to think about it. 🙂 I would very highly recommend this PetSafe pet door, and Petco had the best price.Burner01

This broke two of the screws away from the plastic frame. Even though it says aluminum pet door, the only aluminum part is the white door frame. The brown frame around it is plastic as is the wall tunnel. Since we now needed to replace the flaps, it costs just as much to get a whole new one as it did to replace the flaps. Now for the new one – Had it installed for less than a month and spring loaded knob on insert panel is broken (called for free replacement under one year warranty). Door panel flap lengths are adjustable, but don't seem as thick (and durable) as old ones. If this hadn't been a replacement project of an existing one, not sure if I would have decided to install this one or look at other options.AZTom

It's ok, I needed it that exact day….if I would have waited I could have had another brand in 6 days which would have been a little more sturdy. The locking door is pretty flimsy and could be kicked in very easily. Plastic is not the way to go. I dropped the door just a little above the floor and the corner broke off the door.Caroadstar

I always had difficulty hanging pictures, etc. I feared the whole thing….drilling pilot holes, finding the studs, etc, it all made me shudder. I've lived here 3 yrs. and haven't hung one thing until I found Wall Dog. This is a God-send for ladies who aren't "handy" around the house.queenie

I am on my 3rd PetSafe door. I started with a smart door but I got tired of constantly changing batteries. I have 4 dogs. I got the double flap door. After about 1.5 years the plastic piece that holds the flaps started to break (little pieces at a time). There is no replacement part for this so I had to purchase a new door. PetSafe did give me a reduced price. Now, I have gorilla tape holding my one remaining flap on this door,since the same part is breaking once again. This part is cheaply made and I feel like you should at least offer a replacement part. Now, I'm facing buying another door…again.Crazydogmom

This is a great dog door for a medium size dog. It is a deluxe unit with dual flaps for maximum weather protection. It also has a slide-in closing door with a secure lock. It looks stylish and it fits (one of our main concerns) through the section of the house that has brick. We had a professional install the unit, unfortunately, it was a little higher on the outside than the dog would have liked (see picture above) which hindered her from going back into the door. I solved this problem by ordering something called the Ten-Eighty Mini Launch Ramp for about $30. It is designed for skate boards and bicycles but it will also work in this application. I needed a little modification to sit flush with the wall and I had it carpeted so the dog wouldn't slip in cold weather. Now the dog goes in and out of the door effortlessly. I hope that this idea helps others in consideration of this great dog door.norman3670

I love my Endura double flap door. More importantly, my dog does too. At first she was a little hesitant going in and out by herself but after I put her leash on and guided her through with pizza, she quickly realized she could shoot through both doors. My dog has the freedom of going out and coming back in whenever she wants and I don't have to worry about opening and closing the door all day and night. The Endura door is a quality product and built to last. I had it professionly installed in my wall and couldn;t be happier. Now, if I could just get my cat to follow suit, I'd be in heaven. This is by far the nicest best functioning dog door we have ever owned. We bought the meduim dog door and all three dogs love it. Our dogs range from a 6 pound Matlese to a 28 pound Frenchie and even the little 6 pounder can go through the door with ease. Our home is remolded the dog door looks like an upgrade to the house!! The dog door is quiet compared to other dog doors we have owned. Our bed room is direclty above the dog door and we NEVER hear it at night when the boys go in and out. I recently moved to Dallas and needed a dog door that I could install in my 9.5" wood framed house with 2.5" of exterior clad brick. I couldn't find any system that would work with walls this thick so I used the double Endura Flap doors and made my own aluminum box as follows: 1. I had a local sheet metal shop cut a piece of aluminum down to the width of my wall (following the PetDoors sizing directions) by the same perimeter length as the pieces provided plus a 2" overlap for the seam. 2. Since aluminum's easy to bend, I marked my fold joints and bent the aluminum over over the edge of my work bench by clamping a piece of wood on top of the joint to hold it in place while bending. Then I hammered the joints to make a smooth crease. Although they looked a little dinged on the exterior, the inside didn't read through any of the hammered marks. 3. At the 2" overlap joint, I placed a bead of caulk in the joint and used pop rivets or 1/4" sheet metal screws to hold the seam together. If you use screws, place the heads on the inside. 4. Install the box in the wall with the joint at the top and caulk the joints all the way around to create a watertight joint. In the end I created a very sturdy pass through box in the wall that was stronger than the one provided with the out of the box system.Aaron

I moved houses and had a door just like this. I wanted the same type of swinging doors instead of flaps so I got the exact model that I had before. My dogs were used to it and it is a very good quality door. The first one we had was mounted on an exterior door. The new one is mounted on an exterior wall, and leads right into the dog run. Installation was not easy. According to the instructions all you need is a jigsaw and a screwdriver…HA! False! All in all it was a 10 hour project between my Engineer dad and me (Thank God I didn't attempt it by myself!) -Cosmetically 10 out 10 -Durability 10 out 10 -Ease of Use 10 out 10 -Cost 7 out 10 -Installation 4 out 10 I shopped around a long time for a quality dog door, and this was the best I could find. A month ago when I purchased my large Plexidor w/wall insert there were no reviews, so I was little leery to spend over $500 on a DOG DOOR! In the end I went with this door for security reasons. Every year my wife and I go on vacation for a week or more and we felt more secure with this door versus the plastic versions. Our old house had a plastic dog door and that was how we used to break in when locked out. It was so easy, and therefore easy for a burglar to break in, so we made the investment in this door mainly for security reasons. NOTE: Once we received our large Plexidor my 6ft 170lbs butt could crawl through it, therefore, if not locked so could anyone else. So when you leave for vacation…lock it. It secures fairly well. Installation: You will install the door side on the inside which leaves the recessed portion facing the exterior -making it really obvious that you have a dog door. My remedy is to build & place a dog house on the exterior side of the door; so no-one would ever see or know the dog door exists! It simply looks like the dog is going in & out of his dog house! Plus it could act as a "mud" room to help clean their paws before going into the house. I actually choose to install ours into the garage, especially after the first rain when I saw all of the wet paw prints all the floor from my 80lb black lab. Since this is our third purchase, we obviously love this product. It is so nice to not have to let our dogs out and in several times during the day. The more dogs you have the better. Excellent opening size for our pet who is 18 lbs. I purchased the Medium opening. Our sliding door is a custom height of 12 FT, not a normal height, so using the extension included with the patio panel still doesn’t reach the top of the sliding door, which of course is not the problem of the manufacturer of this product. We remedied the problem by using and cutting to size a disposable hard foam cooler, fitted with a foam edge window and door sealer in order to eliminate cool and hot air from coming in and out. It’s not perfect, but works for our pet and for our use.Grace

I currently own 2 doggy door slider inserts from a competitor brand. I got this PetSafe insert to replace one of my inserts that is worn out, and I am so glad I did! At first glance you can see that the PetSafe is far superior to my competitor door. Upon quick exploration, I could feel that the PetSafe door was much better quality. The PetSafe door itself is more substantial and heavy duty just off the bat. I like that spring-loaded panel at the top of the door is taller (than my competitor brand) so that it can accommodate more sizes of sliders. I have multiple different heights of sliders at my house so that gives me more options of doors for me to place the insert in. This is beneficial to me when I have a party for example because I can give my dogs indoor/outdoor access to a secluded part of my house when young children are over. The second part I really like is the extra security with the locking panel to close the doggy door. Whereas my competitor version only has a plastic lock that could easily be broken into by potential intruders, the PetSafe has a very secure metal pin lock. Third, I appreciate that this insert has a slight tint to it. My competitor version does not. When I open the doggy door in the early morning in my bedroom I "hook" my curtains around my original slider handle for my dogs to access the door and I go back to sleep. The tinting on this insert is at least some attempt to block out the daylight. Finally, I like that they include some weather striping to help combat some unwanted drafts. Although I would recommend to combo the weather stripping provided with foam weather stripping to really complete the seal. Overall, I highly recommend this PetSafe doggy door insert, their attention to detail is prevalent making their door superior to competitors.MamaBear34

I'm giving it three stars because it is working but for the price, I expected a higher-quality item. In some ways this unit is too thin for my patio door track and is floppy, and in other ways – specifically the attachment brackets and the door "latch" – it is too wide. I had to come up with another way to fix the panel in place, then insert foam tape because it kept flapping when the door was used or the wind blew too hard, and then buy separate security bars for the patio door. Not ideal. And I also plan that I will need to remove it if I leave for an extended period of time, as this thing is a serious security vulnerability in the home's perimeter now…not that most adults don't already fit through an extra large pet door opening. I wish this had a full closure panel – aluminum, hinged. Maybe I should have just made something custom since I can't cut a hole in the wall of my rental house for an electronic security dog door.Julie D

I have a huge 75lb male english bulldog, a 35lb corgi and an 18lb maltese. I was worried about the small ones getting through this with the double flaps and also it being the super large one, but so far they are better with the door than the bulldog is. This door is great. And since my corgi has the shortest legs I actually put the door a little lower than you are supposed to and it was totally fine. The only thing I don't like about this door so far is the wind does push open the flaps, but it's usually only when it is pretty bad out. And I haven't had a problem with my magnets falling back in line on the bottom of the flaps like some people posted about, so I really like this door!Natalie

This pet door is sturdy and durable. The template didn't line up, so we installed the door without it. I have a very large dog that plows through it at top speed and it has held up to his abuse. I have a tripod dog and she is able to use it without any problems. We did have to remove one of the flaps to get the dogs used to it with treats. It gave us a sense of comfort knowing the dogs could go in and out of the house while we were out of town and couldn't take them with us. I also have a large dog who is terrified of thunderstorms and I hated leaving her when I knew our normal weather patterns would include late afternoon storms. This door was much easier to install than my previous door. Just as advertised it prevents the wind from blowing the flaps open and letting the A/C escape. It has a weather seal already and does not need caulking. I highly recommend this product even if you don’t live in a windy area. Best design ever.evelyn

Good quality for an excellent price. This is very well constructed and is surprisingly easily handled by one person. The entire pen is secured with two included hooks and then can be configured to any shape necessary. This size should provide adequate space for small dogs to enjoy for quite play. The height of this particular size may be overkill for small dogs unless they are agile jumpers. I ordered this for my greyhound for leisurely sunning without needing a leash. The height is adequate but the interior space is just enough for her outdoor bed and her body. I will order another two to provide more area for investigating the outdoors next spring.Sharon

I use these pens for my angora rabbits. They are a larger breed and some of them will jump over the other pens with little effort. I really like the door and the child proof hook. It's tall and sturdy and has enough stakes for every section. I bought it when the price came down and loved it so much that I bought two more! With each gate having a door, it'll be easy to use these a run outside of their shed. I would recommend and buy again.Yvonne B.

I like Midwest products as the metal seems to be stronger and last longer than other brands. I have the original ex-pen I bought around 1995 – it's survived 50+ large dogs. I prefer them to crates as the dogs have more room to move around, yet they are easily configured to a smaller shape when potty training. They easier to clean than crates. They fold flat and I can store them next to a fridge or behind a furnace. They work indoors/out and are great mobile containment. For dogs living in fenceless areas (condos) ex-pens can be linked using carabiners/bolt snaps (i.e., dog leash clips) for fencing moveable for mowing/snow removal. They are great for patio surrounds. You can buy metal tops for if a dog needs more containment, but most won't if using a tall enough ex-pen. I've also bought just the metal or plastic crate pans to put under the ex-pen if needed. To keep the ex-pen from falling or being moved if I have a rambunctious pup I bungee the corners to furniture or door knobs.HannahB

Great heavy duty Gate!! Seamless , just pull out of box and set up to the shape you need. Definitely not for any dog bigger than a yorkie or chihuahua , but could be used for puppies. I am using it for my yorkie which had 5 puppies.Jules

I was excited to receive this product for my new puppy , its pretty tall and a good diameter. I recently added a little screened in outdoor room for my cats and dogs to use for a little outdoor time. This pet door works perfectly. The dogs and the cats have no problems using it. It’s big enough for the dogs and easy enough for the cats to use too. I especially like the added inner flap that helps keep the hot outdoor air out. The slide in insert is great too because I like to close it at night to keep anything from possibly getting in the house. This is not the first time I’ve used a Petsafe door and it won’t be the last. We got this to install at my grandma’s house. She uses a walker and often has trouble getting up as frequently and quickly as the dog needs to go outside. this is perfect because it alleviates the problem for both of them. This is not a job for one person to install – assistance may be needed to line it up and some kind of sealant might be needed if the cut isn’t perfect. But overall, I recommend! Also, I sized up to large because I couldn’t picture the opening size being enough with the medium, but probably could have gone with a smaller size since the dog has more than enough room.BRMomma

I absolutely loved this pet gate. It looked like a nice piece of furniture instead of a cheap baby gate! You know those pink or blue ones they use to sell back in the day that kept falling down. This is the only style of pet gate we purchase. We have gone through about three of them (due to moving or our human clumsiness knocking it down). It’s tall enough to keep our cat out of the rooms we don’t want him to be in. And it’s easy to install. We purchased this superyard to use in the house, outback and on the go. We bought it because the description makes it sound like it’s simple to fold / unfold to take with you or store. It’s definitely not easy and takes quite a bit of time. This would be fine if you want to keep it up all the time / not take it up and down, but that wasn’t our plan. We wanted to utilize this as a safe place when we’re cooking, etc. and set it aside folded when not in use. We want our baby to be able to explore / crawl where ever and learn “no” when it comes to things / areas off limits and simply don’t have a large space to keep this up ALL the time. This superyard is also very hard to open / close. The grandmas, babysitters and myself can’t open / close it; my husband is the only one who seems to get it. This is an ideal item, especially if you have a pet that you don't want to tear up the house. My mother has an older version that has a door. I wish this one had a door, but once you get the hang of opening it, you can do it easily. Honestly, you usually don't use the door and simply lean over to pick up your dog. While mine is a tiny puppy, I have taken two of the 6 panels out in order to make a smaller square. As the dog gets bigger, I will add the 2 panels for a larger space. Good value for the money. The delivery was prompt. I tried to buy this cheaper on E-bay and both the sellers were taken down and my money refunded. It took a while. Stick with a reputable seller. Same as the pet play yard this company also offers at other retailers which is often priced higher. I have a Cairn puppy who I needed to wrangle in various areas both inside abs out. This works great and is very portable. A little clunky to open and get the right shape but much easier to use that other similar metal options that rust and have sharp ends. I like it so much I am considering buying another for more options, but it’s a great size for what I need as it comes. It’s also keeping my cat from bringing in any new “friends” aka – birds, mice, or chipmunks when the patio door is open.Lisa

This works very well. So decided to copy it and made a few with scrap wood and 3/4 inch dowel stock to fit the dog holes in my bench. My bench has 2 regular face vises that can be moved from the side to either end. With a pair of these made out of wood and one mounted in the dog holes of the vise and another in the table, I have a great work holder for hand planing.Srikanth

Got this for a large dog to recover from surgery. Not as strong as a large welded wire portable kennel. It does allow more room to stretch out than the large portable kennel. If your animal needs room to move around, this may be a good kennel. Not super sturdy. Walls will moved out since they are connected with brackets (two each panel). May not be escape proof. No attached floor. Fitted tarp cover is nice. There are no cheap kennels out there. This one was priced okay and shipped free to my door. It was packaged well.CheapTX Guy

This is an extremely sturdy kennel and of high quality. Very easy to assemble. I assembled it myself and completely finished it took me about an hour and a half. The only downside is this kennel doesn't come with anchors that go in the ground to give it that extra firm support, however it doesn't appear to need it, as the kennel is extremely sturdy without them. Easy installation. Interior portion, aluminum frame, is well made. The outer mount potion is plastic and pretty thin at that, no support ribs or reinforcement around the mount holes; drove a screw right through the first one. Make the plastic thicker, with reinforcement ribs or just make the whole thing out of aluminum. I can foresee replacing in a few years.jadeel

Being a senior widow im on my own. I installed this myself in a wood door. I thought whats the worst that could happen..buy a new door. Got er in just fine actually was easynancy

We have not installed it in the door yet…but just looking at it, it looks sturdy and indestructible, which is good, because my dog literally eats and tears the doors with the flexible plastic. I have 7 dogs of varying sizes who use this door constantly. The only fault I find is that the rubber gaskets between the slats in the door wear out . Everything else lasts a very long time. I tweaked it by putting piano hinges between the slats and that has extended its use a lot. If I could buy just that part the door would last practically forever! The crate had obviously been used and returned. The metal was rusted in places and the plastic bottom tray was dirty. When I decided to return it, It was a challenge to get it back in the box. When I took it back to the store, I asked about a discount and received 15% off (the tax). I had previously bought one that was marked down by 50% because the box was damaged. I was quite disappointed in the whole experience. Apparently the merchandise was supposed to be checked if the box was damaged and that wasn’t done in this case.Janice

I've owned dogs for the last 40 years. I've used MidWest wire crates for my last 4 dogs. This iCrate didn't disappoint. It's sturdy and and easy to put up and take down. I use them when I travel with my dogs too. My dogs only use their crates for sleeping in at night or napping in during the day. During the day, their crate doors are left open. I close the dogs in at night. I don't have an issue with my dogs trying to escape from their crates, so I can't speak to whether or not this would be sturdy enough for a dog that's determined to get out of their crate. These crates are more than sturdy enough for my miniature Schnauzer, Havanese, and Wirehaired Pointing Griffon. All three of my dogs love their MidWest iCrates, as did my previous dog! They go in them voluntarily and when told to "crate up". My only concern with the current crate I ordered is that that one of the latches isn't lined up quite right so it's a bit tight when closing the crate door. I bent it slightly and it works much better. I haven't had that issue with any of the previous MidWest crates I've used. I'm a MidWest crate fan.Eddie09

We bought this in April 2022 for our Rhodesian Ridgeback mix puppy. He was weeks old when we rescued him. He was a Parvo pup and barely survived, so rest and his own quiet space was highly recommended for recovery. We first used the divider which was great. However, as he grew, so did his strength. It definitely is not strong enough for large dogs. Even for short amounts of time. At the moment he is 6 months and 60 pounds. Thankfully he did not get out nor hurt himself! I wish I could share photos of how bent up this crate is and the cracked floor liner. IWifeMomLove
