With the cold weather and the need to run the heater, my dog's skin was very dry and itchy. I could tell she was miserable and knew I had to head to petco. I bought the Well & Good Oatmeal Medicated Dog Shampoo and that did the trick. I followed up with the Well & Good Oatmeal Medicated Dog Conditioner. After the first bath, her scratching decreased by 85%. A week later, I washed and conditioned her again and her scratching decreased 100%. Her coat was clean and shiney. This shampoo is horrible and a waste of my money. My dogs are 12 and 13 and I have used a lot of different shampoos over the years. This is by far the worst. I used it for the first time yesterday so I don’t know how soothing it will be for their skin, but it doesn’t matter because I won’t be buying it again. This cost too much money not to work as directed. The directions literally tell you to work up a rich lather. Is that a joke? You’ll waste it all of you think you are getting any type of lather. This soaps up just slightly and that’s after using more than you should have to. No matter how it works on their skin, I will not be buying a shampoo that requires me to use so much of it, which in turn makes me purchase more of it. Perhaps that’s what they want but not me. my dog (kelpie) shed so much especially for his breed, I use this and it is finally under control. you'll see reviews that complain about suds and lathering but they are not necessary for shampoos, even ask your hair salon, they are only there to create foam and give you the illusion or peace of mind that it's doing its job. This shampoo does the job, cleanses and controls shedding by adding essential vitamins and mineral to the coat. I also use the furminator undercoat rake once he is dry and together I love them!bbjw

This was a great shampoo for my chihuahua. She has a skin condition and is constantly itching herself. I feel that it’s very gentle and doesn’t cause any buildup or irritation. This is a very good company and they have good products for humans and pets. My dog, unfortunately, happens to have very dry sensitive itchy skin. Especially during flea season. Just one flea bite and it's off to the races. She has severe "flea bites venom" allergy. So flea season I have to be hyper vigilant with everything from yard, home, pet flea and tick treatment, and grooming. I purchased this one day because I know that oatmeal is very soothing to itchy dry skin. I have used regular oatmeal as a paste and as a bath/rinse with very good results. This shampoo smells good, it was a little higher priced but I was OK as long as the results were equal to the price point. Sadly, I was not impressed. In this case it was the name brand reputation was bigger than the results. while it did clean her fur thoroughly and nicely , she was scratching a lot within the first few hours after her bath. And she was properly rinsed. I spend triple the time rinsing.  I put her back in the shower and rinsed her with the homemade oatmeal bath that I use. Regular old-school oatmeal, mixed with water, and just use it as a soak/rinse. I also put in a few drops of high-quality Teatree oil, the mother of apple cider vinegar, and a cup of chamomile tea. that's my homemade treatment for itchy sensitive skin this shampoo, for the price, did not meet my expectations. I have gotten similar if not better results from shampoos that were 1 to 5 dollars a bottle. Keep in mind this is just my opinion and my results on my dog. If you are using it for a regular shampoo and not expecting treatment for itchy red skin, I believe you will be satisfied. fran.c
This is a great natural dog shampoo that i use on my dog regularly. I used to use a lot of product, like a quarter of the bottle every time I bathed my fur baby. I was told from my groomers to create a foam with some water and soap in a bottle and it makes the product lather better and uses so much less! My fur baby suffers from itchy skin and this shampoo seems to temporarily relieve that! I enjoy using this on my dog! This shampoo did not disappoint and I am happy with the results Im getting. I also like that Burt Bees doesn't have toxic chemicals in they're products which is what lead me to this purchase. I can often find it at Marshalls for a good price. One of my dogs sometimes gets itchy skin, no other issues with her skin she just gets itchy. I figured it would be nice if I could find a shampoo to help her out. This one does the trick. She seems much more comfortable after her baths and I love how clean it gets all my dogs. Its very easy to lather up and it rinses clean. The smell is great if youre into fruity…if you dont like fruity itd be best to skip this one. I think this would be a great shampoo for any coat type…I use it on a rat terrier, a mini poodle, and a Great Pyrenees.L.
