Have had pain, aches and muscle inflammation for years particularly on my left knee, ankle and foot; to make matters worse about a year ago the Dr. diagnosed me with an osteoarthritic knee; before that time and since have used many products and devices (non-prescription) seeking to alleviate pain and inflammation. That is until about mid- August 2014 when I was introduced to Absorbine Liniment Veterinary Gel while visiting a cousin in Puerto Rico, of course I doubted its effectiveness. Using a cotton ball to remove the residue (and icky stuff), and she clearly hears better. Thanks to all the reviews I thought I’d give this a go. My dog Einstein had another vascular tumor removed (2nd time, same place) on his inner front left upper leg. The Vet has to leave it open w/no sutures since he had to remove much more around the margins & go deeper so hopefully it won’t come back again so it had to heal as a huge open wound. Google brought me to the natural dog company because my dogs paws were the stuff off nightmares. Paw pads that look like hair which I learned was hyperkeratosis. Supposedly there is no cure for this. But I thought at the very least this would give him some relief as he must have been in some pain. Well he looks so much better already. The paws got soft enough that I was able to "trim" the filaments off sightly. Yes it was as gross as it sounds lol. He is not fully cured yet but his paws are so much closer to normal already. I thought this was way too good to be true. My dog- Victoria, a catahoula- has severe allergies and has to be on a special diet, take medications, etc. even then, she has still had really bad allergies and chews her paws and legs. While she absolutely hates this stuff- I don’t know if it is the smell (it smells good, though), but on day 2 I saw a significant change in the redness and itchiness. I was such a huge skeptic because I’ve tried everything and I wasn’t expecting this to work and it has honestly been the only think that is not a medication that has helped. I run and walk my border collie 7-9 miles everyday and his paws were always rough so I decided to try this…within 1 week his cracks were almost all gone and his pads were really bad…deep skin cuts are almost fully gone!!! i don't know what's so special about this stick of snout soother, but IT IS AMAZING! i didn't take a picture of my dog's before nose, but it was nasty – crusty, brown, flakey. This product has been the only product that has helped my dog. The redness on his underbelly has got a lot lighter and he doesnt scratch as much as he did. My 1 year old Basset Hound has had a problem with yeast since he was 9 weeks old. The first outbreak he was on antibiotics for 2 months. The second outbreak the vet prescribed 2 months of antibiotics and a maintenance dose of 3/week which we were told he may have to stay on for the rest of life. I ordered this and was sent a different product with a different label from the one shown. As it turns out the ingredient ichthammol 20% reads the chemical name – (which I didn't know) Ammonium bituminosulfonate 20% And the label has Amber Petrolatum and Anhydrous Lanolin. I wish they would show the Ingredients LABEL for viewing BEFORE ordering. The main reason for the 2 stars is that it has NO SMELL. It has been my experience that all Ichthammol 20% drawing salve that I have ever used (I am over half a century old) has a strong odor. So I have no idea what this is in comparison nor why it doesn't have the smell. So I am returning it mainly because it doesn't smell and I have no knowledge of amber petrolatum or hydrous lanolin. Love this stuff! It is black and looks weird but works amazingly. It reduces inflammation. Keeps flies away. Is an antiseptic, and kept our goat from pulling out her stitches out! Slippery elm helps heal the gut lining from gluten. Gluten is in wheat/barley/rye..oats/corn/rice. Rice is low in gluten. Wild rice has no gluten…is a grass. Gluten/Xanthan gum/carrageenan can hurt the gut lining so less nutrients absorb. The dog got all three in a canned food which greatly hurt him and he was eating grass. I received the chews and immediately gave my puppy 2 of them. She really liked them, she itches. most of the time. But the vet says she needs some type of injection to stop it completely. I don't like to give my puppy any shots but her yearly Injection for rabies. After a week of giving her 2 chews per day as per the instructions I've noticed a big reduction in the amount of her itching. She likes to eat them so apparently they must taste pretty good.
