My goodness this bed is great for bigger dogs! Fabric is tear resistant. We have three large dogs one of which is a pit bull. They do not chew up beds but all three like to dig into a comfortable spot. This bed was perfect for their digging efforts. As far as the inside it’s a softer fluff material. What do you expect for this price? Again it HUGE! We and our furry friends are pleased with this purchase! I wish I could get this bed in a smaller version as well!!!EsFamilyVA

We love the bed and have to replace the cover. Originally bought the bed with the brown cover about a year ago. Replaced with the grey cover and love it. The cover itself though seems to already become worn and IMO won't last too long. Probably will not order another replacement.Phillip B.

This is, I think our third or fourth time purchasing these beds for our dogs. In the past, over time the covers get worn. We purchase these because the covers can be removed and washed. What we have found is that after so many washes, the material begins to thin. Well, these were just recently purchased, and I haven't even had to wash them yet, and the material is ripping.Sharon H.

I have 4 large cots for my two 70pound and 100pound dogs. 1 is inside, 2 are outside, and the fourth was in their pool to lay in the water. I have had to recently replace the 2 from outside. They sit under the porch but are still exposed to the weather conditions. I have had these cots for almost four years! I these beds a lot. The problem I have found is the logo patch. This is just an item to make destructive dogs go after the bed. I was smart this time and pulled it off before my dog saw it. She has left the bed alone much more. I still have issues with her trying to get the pull loops on underside to attach cover to Velcro. Not sure how that would be changed.Shannon

We live in New Mexico at just over 5000 feet elevation. Sun and UV are extra brutal in the summer, the air is very dry, and we get freezing and a little below freezing as well as light snow in the winter. Our Cot sits out year around in our enclosed outdoor dog area. Our dog has dog door access to that area and lounges and naps on the cot almost daily — even in winter. It gets lots of use in a harsh climate. I just ordered a replacement cover because the material tore/shredded along the seam after two years. The price is more than OK for two years of good use and especially appreciate the ability to order the cover only — the cot frame will last forever. This a replacement, the 2nd one the zipper failed again. My 1.5 year old likes to carry the bed around and scratch to get comfortable. This is 2xs now the zipper has failed. I won't be buying again.Tina M.

This cover goes right over the old bed and I can also stuff it with my older clothes instead of tossing them out. My dog took to it immediately and it looks so much nicer than the flimsy beds available in stores.Anonymous

Great concept, difficult execution if you want anything beyond a small bed. I purchased the huge, not taking into consideration the amount of "stuff" it would take to fill it. I was able to fill it after parting with things I wasn't originally intending too. The bed is just not comfortable, however. I can't imagine unless you have all plush clothes and pillows to fill it with that it would ever be truly comfortable. The dogs haven't slept on it in a week. I think the waterproof liner is also hot and noisy which deters them. Again, I love the concept, but it just was not a good purchase for my little dog family.Brett W

Adorable dog bed cover! Seems durable and high-quality. It does seem to be a somewhat unusual size so it's a little big for the standard dog bed I already owned. But that's an easier fix with some stuffing. The panama pattern with the monstera leaves is really cute and looks more chic than many patterned dog beds I've seen!Savannah B

My reviews are mixed. This is a HORRIBLE design. It comes unassembled and you have to assemble. Which means you need to push in the arms of the couch inside the case. Horrible design because the zipper doesn't wrap around the sides which means you are trying to push the stuffing into an impossible space. I am sweating and it's taken me 30 minutes and I still can't stuff the stuffing in. It's a two person job. It's like trying to restring the string in your pull spring hoodie that fell out after you washed it. Do you know what that's like? Trying to push the string into a hoodie? If they had only made the zipper wrap more around the sides it would improve the design and take away frustrationTyson and Shema

After purchasing and returning several greatly inferior brands, I finally broke down and purchased my second of these. Pricy, but they last a lifetime. (My original is at least 10 years old, has been washed countless times, and is still great!) These are the only thick and comfortable dog beds I have ever found. My two English Springer Spaniels sleep comfortably together in a size large. You need some minimal strength and agility to assemble them, but it's not as difficult as some reviewers have suggested. If you're elderly or disabled, just get some assistance. The dogs love their couch / bed better than MY couch and bed – which was exactly my goal!Ronnnnr

The assembly of this dog couch is way too difficult. It is almost impossible to get the bolsters in their "channels", and then to get the main mattress inserted is also a challenge. I'm on the floor for 45 minutes wrestling with this thing, and exhausted when I'm done. I dread every time it needs to be washed. I did just see some replies from LL Bean that suggests turning the cover inside out to insert the bolsters. I'm waiting now for the thing to dry, having just washed it. I'll try the inside-out suggestion, but it will still be difficult to get the main mattress back in. Given that there are so many other reviews of this product that comment on the difficult assembly, has LL Bean looked into re-designing this product? To make it easier to get the bolster pads and main mattress in and out of the cover, perhaps a more complete zipper opening would help? Other than that, the materials have held up decently and the therapeutic foam is only now starting to break down after five or six years. Our dog does seem to like laying on it.Steve B

We have purchased the Premium Fleece Dog Bed for many of our dogs and they are always enjoyed by our dogs. They seem to find them comfortable to snuggle into the fleece and the soft, cushy filling. They are easy to clean with the quick zip-off cover. They fit nicely in spaces in any room. Our dog also has the LLBean couch bed and has really liked that too. I cover the couch bed with an LLBean dog blanket that I can wash quickly because it is not as easy to remove/replace the couch bed cover for washing as how easily the Premium Fleece Dog Bed cover can be washed. I purchased the Premium Fleece Dog Bed Set, Medium, Rectangular as well as the Replacement Cover in Denim. I have a 12 lb. Chihuahua/Fox Terrier that is about the size of an average Jack Russell or Beagle and she loves, loves, loves her bed. The padding is well made and has a little bit of a groove all around with a little bit of a bump in the center. So it is not completely flat, which I have learned from observing our furry pet that it serves a purpose. She likes to rest within the groove for security. On other days she likes to rest her head and chest on the bump in the center which elevates her a little bit. Our dog used have a cheap bed that became too soft and did not hold up well once it got old. Especially when she laid against the side walls. It had a tendency to flatten out. Plus, it had a plush-life fabric that was too warm in the summertime, and she would hang partially off the bed onto the hardwood floor which is cooler. So, comfort, temperature, structure, and durability were factors taken into consideration in searching for a new bed. I had read reviews about the padding falling apart in the washer or tearing from digging. I have not had to wash the pad because I have covered the bed and denim cover with a crib-size bed pad and a fitted bedsheet for added protection; and because our pooch has always enjoyed the feel and texture of a bedsheet. She just got used to looking for cooling spots on her beds after we tried keeping her cool on other retailer beds that had either foam or cheap fill which caused her become too warm. But she does love her Sherpa adult throw. Not familiar with L.L. Bean pet products, I decided to purchase the bed set that came with the fleece cover and also ordered the replacement cover in denim which is a soft denim. It is not stiff or rough as in jean denim. I was concerned the fleece cover might be too warm, and I wanted to have the option to change from a warmer cover to a cooler one being that it was summertime when my order arrived, so that was the reason in my purchasing the denim replacement cover as well. When my order arrived, I placed the denim cover on the pad and it has held up really well. It doesn't show dirt and our pooch likes it. I was afraid it would rip when she sniffed the bed and began digging but that has not been the case. So it has stood pretty well to that. I have not replaced the denim cover with the fleece cover yet, but weather is starting to change and getting cooler. I will probably change from the denim liner to the Sherpa liner soon. I also want to add that I ordered a medium size bed which is a little bigger than what is recommended for a dog her weight/size because she likes to spread out. That was also one reason why I chose a bed that is not enclosed or has side walls. If it's any help to anyone reading this review, the medium bed is about four inches short the length of a baby crib mattress. It's the best bed I have bought. I haven't seen anything else at other stores that meet the same quality of L.L. Bean products, and I highly recommend this bed.Mimi

We use these in our hotel for our guests that bring their dogs and, oh boy, do we get a LOT of guests with adorable dogs of all ages and sizes. These beds are holding up amazingly well through multiple washings. I'm actually here on the LL Bean website to order more because we have had so many dogs staying with us, we have had nights where we did not have enough dog beds to accommodate all of our four-legged guests. I highly recommend these beds. We have the Platinum color and they look very classy and are still so durable and stain-resistant. Tried this Lands End canvas bed after many years with the LL Bean beds for our Lab Retriever. Unfortunately after only 9 months of normal use (our Lab is 11 years old and very gentle) and delicate washing the cover material did not hold up and now has holes. Although Lands End pricing is better, LL Bean will outlast 5-10x as long.Kwseaside

This purchase is our fifth LandsEnd dog bed for our household (and, yes, all of the others are still in happy use), so we obviously love the quality beds. This one will be used primarily on our screened porch, and the gray color perfectly matches our pillows, chair and bed swing cushions. When I was unpackaging the bed upon arrival, our dog was curious and when we put it together (the insert arrived earlier, as the outer part was on a long-backorder), our dog sniffed it and once assembled QUICKLY instantly got comfortable on it. All of our others were the rectangle style, and this was our first round one. He loves both. The advantage of the round one is that it is easier for us to walk around in tighter locations. I hope LandsEnd will continue to offer this dog bed for many years to come.mags

I don't know how many of these beds I have tossed once the cover wore out. Finally, someone got it right and sells a replacement cover. The metal frame lasts forever, so it's crazy to have to buy an entire new bed when the cover gets worn. Shipping was fast (my dog was skunked, and rubbed it on the bed), since it is so hot, we needed a new cover asap…thanks for getting it here so quick, he is back to being cool once again.Donna

I bought it for a future replacement but it is made of good and lasting material. So far I like the original bed cover which is made with the same material. I assume this replacement will be as good as the first one. I would recommend it.Patricia
