This is 60" long ramp which gives it a 22 degree angle of inclination for the ramp. 18 to 22 degree is recommended for dog ramps. It also has strap to attach the end of the car. I have to use old sweats on the ramp while my dog goes up to make it less slippery. But that not big deal. Its light weight and folds which are best the features. The no-slip walkway was very good, BUT had to return because our 12 year old dog (90 lbs) was not willing to go that high; it was for the rear of 2019 subaru outback, seemed good quality. I got this ramp for my 10 year old dachshund rescue dog to use indoors on a short set of steps that lead to the outside door. (Just for steps). I am happy with the quality and there was nothing to assemble. Although the surface has a slight roughness, it is still too slippery for Lucy – she sort of slid down the last foot or so. I am going to cover it with carpeting using double sided carpet tape which i feel with solve the problem. Also because we are using the ramp indoors on steps I will need to secure the top edge to the landing. After that I think it will be quite adequate for her. She has some back issues and I do not want her straining herself up and down steps. If you used these in the living room you wouldn't need to apologize for its looks. If someone objects to how these stairs look send them packing and hug your pet. For a pet that can't jump up anymore this is a firm foam that my 20lb dog can maneuver easily to get in bed with us. Floor to couch or chair would be even easier. They don't wabble or slide, even on a wooden floor, when he launches himself from the top step. They would be a compliment to any room for a needy pet. Vacuums easily to remove even fuzzy shih tzu hair. In fact his fuzzy hair doesn't cling to this fabric compared to the other stairs we tried. Sticky roller works well too. Fabric doesn't lift away from stairs like the last set did. The fabric is very smooth which also facilitates cleaning. We aren't seeing impressions of his footprints depressing into the foam. The foam is firm enough it just bounces back. These stairs are NOT a block of styrofoam. We haven't had any stains so I can't speak for that. Wasn't as tall as I thought it would be. I also like that it folds down and has a handle. The only flaw is that there is no way to lock it into the extended position. A couple of times while positioning it, it collapsed on me. This ramp has been a huge help for my older shepherd mix to get into the cargo area of my SUV. I used to have to pick him up to put him in the car and being that I take him everywhere I go this ramp has been a blessing! I own a 2017 Nissan Murano and the extended length of this ramp (70 inches) works great. The angle is a bit steep but the traction is fantastic. My dog has no trouble with slipping at all. To get your dog used to the ramp it's suggested to first put the ramp on something low, like a curb or a stair simply to get your dog used to it. I had my Yogi using the ramp on the 1st day! I love that it's so light and compact. It hardly takes up any room so I just leave it in my car. It has a built in handle so it's easy to carry. The operation couldn't be easier. There's a button snap that keeps the ramp from sliding out. Simply unsnap the strap to fully extend the ramp. The only thing I would've liked is if the lip on the ramp was adjustable. There are two rubber pieces on the underside of the lip (shown in 2nd picture) to protect your cars bumper and to keep the ramp from sliding around. If you have a flat bumper it will make full contact. Unfortunately my Murano has a weird curved bumper so the rubber pieces don't make full contact. There's enough contact to keep the ramp from sliding so it's not a huge deal but an adjustable lip would be awesome! Other than that I love everything else about it. This ramp has some positive features. It is wide and uses carpet that keeps the dogs feet from slipping. It just does not work for our puposes. We needed it to get our dog into the back seat of the car. It was difficult tlo manage because of its weight etc. I think it is better fot a more stable location.Linda
Unfortunately, the very bottom where there's wood is slippery and also the hole for the handle is exactly where my dog tries to step. She feels uncomfortable with that first step and then later when her back paw hits that same area, so she is refusing to use the ramp. I will have to return it. But it is a nice ramp and may be perfect for other dogs and pet owners.jarens13
I agree that carpet should be going sideways instead of up and down – claws have no traction. But at least I can set my dog's front paws on it at middle setting, give a slight lift up to midway, followed by a boost and he gets himself up on the bed. Will try to take to a carpet place and see what they can put over it. Still beats chairs.BMH
