I have had this since January of 2018, best purchase IMO, is it perfect? No, does it work really really well? Yes it does. Is it sometimes slow to lock onto your phone? Yes, easy fix as I turn the collar and receiver on prior to getting ready or when we get into the car, that way everything is good to go when its time to go. The longest it has taken to acquire and lock on to my phone had been around 5 minutes. I use this several (3-4) times and week and haven't had any issues with the collar prongs bothering my dogs neck or causing issues. IMO it is an excellent value for the cost and its peace of mind knowing I know where my dog is at all times.Alexis

So far I have not used this to train my pup. My pup is to young (only 4 months). I have down load the App to my I Phone & have set it up for use. So far everything has been straight forward & easy to set up. The website for the product contains a lot of information on how to use this product for training & for Trouble Shooting if needed. This collar has tracked my husky as she ran off leash while out on hikes. It shows on our phones where she is, when she stops running, when she barks and what path she takes. It is neat to be able to watch the paths she takes when chasing the deer in the woods. It has tracked her over half a mile away. My only comment – which has more to do with my dog than the collar – is that the shocks don’t seem to phase her. I think her fur may be too thick.Dallas

This is my 3rd Dogtra collar and the first to have issues. After a couple training sessions and first hunt of the season the collar will not turn on. I will return to Dogtra but will not have it when I leave for MI grouse hunt this week. Glad I kept old collar for a backup.LABMAN56

Our two westies have had barking issues in the past. Just the random barking when neighbours make noise, bins get collected, someone at door etc. We have tried other collars in the past and they never worked! Finally now we have a solution! These collars worked instantly. One bark and since they felt the first vibration, then haven’t had them bath since! We will leave these collars on them full time. Have had the best results with this bark collar (Dogtra YS300). I used it on myself to test and it scared me for sure! But DID NOT HURT AT ALL. I adopted a Maltese Terrier end of last year and he barked like a maniac! I cannot handle barking for no reason! Anyway, I ended up having to go up to number 4 because his barking urge was so strong. We wish we bought this sooner! Our little Kelpie girl was relentless with her barking she would bark at anything that moved. After a not so great interaction with a neighbour we were at our wits end and decided to purchase the collar. It was quite awful hearing her yelp when so first barked however after 2 weeks with the collar I don't even have it on her anymore during the day and when at home and she barely makes a peep! Product initially worked well. Combination of tone, vibration, and shock works well for training. My golden retriever responded well. Unfortunately the second time I went to charge the collar, the connection between the collar and the charger would not make contact. I chatted with cabelas and asked if they could send me a new charger dongle and they said I wanted that option I would need to work directly with Garmin. They gave me the option to return by mail, but I didn't want to be without the collar for that long. Instead I drove to the store to exchange it but they did not have the model available in the store. I returned it at the store and ordered a replacement on line. I bought this collar about a year ago, and it is still just as effective and powerful today. This has all of the capabilities I need for training and enjoying my time with my dog. With the multi-collar functionality, it’s also great for people who own multiple dogs as you would just need a new collar and program it to a different color code switch. My dog can go swimming, get dirty, muddy, get hosed off, and the collar still works like a charm. I am extremely impressed. We bought this a couple months ago! Best investment we ever made! Our dog doesn't like the neighbours dog and would bark like crazy every time he was out in the yard. put the ecollar on him and only had to use the shock button a couple times and it stopped the bad behaviour in its tracks! Love it! The only thing I noticed was the collar became unpaired from the remote after we took him to the lake to swim. We purchased this with it stating it was a new collar. The actual collar that it came on has been cut off. There is no charger with it. It does seem to work but with the collar being cut it won't fit our hounds & without a charger u cant charge it. It came in a envelope, not in a box like the new ones do.boyces08

I have German Shorthaired Pointers. I use this for hunting, camping, and horseback riding. My dogs run pretty big. I love and rely on this tracker. I only gave it 4 stars because it doesn't have the range that's advertised. 2-3 miles max, on flat terrain. When Garmin first came out with the Astro 15 years ago, I thought it was pretty expensive and hesitated to buy it. Then I lost a dog for 3 days, missing 2 days of work and hiking 20+ miles and lost 7lbs in one day. Then it didn't seem so expensive. The price hasn't gone up for the Astro after all this time. And the Alpha has been extremely reliable after 1 year of 24/7 use. (My dogs are escape artists)tina

I had the Astro 220 and traded up to the Alpha 100. Purchase 2 T5 for field trials and 5 TT15. It is great to know where your dogs are running at all times. Training pups has gotten so much easier. You know if they slip away from the pack or are having trouble finding their way back in. I highly recommend the Alpha and Outdoor Dog Supply. issue/review: Product arrived packaged well, but it is defective. Only one of the remote outdoor sensors works; One will "see" ir and trigger the alarm. The other will not as can be show by the feed-back red LED and main alarm "sounding off". The main alarm unit does trigger on it's own, but is not reliable. Some times it senses other times you can walk right up to it and it will not trigger unless right in front of the sensing area at a distance of 1-2 feet and remain there for about 40secs or more. That is you can walk up a path toward the trigger area. It might not sense you until you are 2 feet away. Other times it will sense a human at 15 feet. IR sensor (the one that works): it does the job just fine for the one that is working. I have not tested if works from outside, because I want the main unit fixed first. The IR did have a line of sight range of about 20 feet to trigger the main unit. It works for my application. I do not know the transmission range nor if it will transmit through brick walls. Nor do I know the battery life of the IR remotes. I would like to see a solar or AC adaptor for them. Even as an option. Then I would not have to worry about them being off. You will not know if they are not working unless you trigger the IR and look at the feed-back LED. Main unit function Remote works fine. Sound of dog barking is good enough for my use. I just want it to alarm me someone is at my front door or location being watched. The battery only mode (power outage) does not work. Unit only works with AC adaptor. Tried using all new batteries and testing all batteries to verify they are 100% full. That is a show stopper for me.seacowboy

We call him Rusty. It works pretty good. Initially there were a lot of false barks, but after turning the sensitivity down to about 50%, false alarms are much lower. Still every now and then he will bark some when nothing is there. But it's not too bad. When someone is really there, he works perfect. The dog bark sounds realistic and ferocious. The closer you get, the bark response. We only have him activated when we are away. When we are hear, my 12 gauge shotgun is the deterrent.jereece

I wondered if I would really like the barking dog alarm when I ordered it… and am happy to say I like it very much! The neighbors on either side of me have been burglarized but we never have, probably due to my German Shepherd, Hellmutt. He is very protective of us and our property. When one of the neighbor's burglar was caught on camera, you could actually hear Hellmutt barking in the background. We do like to travel, however, and Hellmutt is boarded during these periods. Thus the barking dog alarm order… The bark sounds just like his! Obviously, it isn't exactly as though he is at the door, but very much sounds like he is in the house. The main alarm senses people coming up to the front door… and we also purchased two motion detectors that program to the alarm. You can put these wherever you think someone might try to enter, for example, the garage door, gate, bedroom, etc. They also work very well, igniting the barking when they sense motion. We don't know for certain if they have discouraged burglars, but we do know that such people will move on to easier "pickings" if they think a dog is home. It should be noted that I use my whistle most in a city setting but the idea behind the purchase was to add a little insurance when we travel with our dog to suburban and rural areas or if they are out of the house with a dog walker. -I have my whistle set to pull location data every six minutes during walks. However, when he is on a walk and I open the app to see where he is, the only information shown is the first point that the device recognized he was outside the designated “safe zone” which could have been 40+ minutes ago. When I hit the “update location” button to manually push the data it takes several minutes to update. I know that the data is pulling every six minutes because once my dog is back from his walk and within the safe zone I can see their exact route. This information should be easily visible when opening the app. -The device reminds you constantly to sync the app with bluetooth so that it can better track you and know who is with the dog. The issue is that it only recognizes and pairs with Bluetooth 45% of the time while outside (yes, I did the math). -After daylight saving time goes into effect it temporarily erases data from the day from 11-1159pm. You literally can’t access data for the day between those hours. -They have all these badges you can earn and I’ve had a perfect month but never got the badge for a perfect month, same with double their goal, etc. -It send my dogs "weekly wellness update" email in the middle of the week which is just strange since the week ends on Sunday in the app. -The device has simply recognized an hour walk as “low activity” and awarded no minutes to activity goal. -If you ever reach out for support, customer service will start on your request by randomly guessing what your problem is and then you will be transferred to a different person until you are forced to give up. They have also told me several time that the device doesn’t work well in “high rises” despite the fact that I don’t live in one. -Safe Places only work well if you have WiFi and they will always tell you the radius is too small when setting a new place (even with larger homes). The whistle will also just randomly “teleport” your dog to those locations even if they’re 20+ miles away which throws the map all out of whack. -I have hit “update location” which can take up to 5 minutes and drained 4% of the device battery to show me that my dog was in the middle of a safe place but still never recognized the safe zone. -Notifications are spotty. Sometimes it will take 10 minutes to tell me my dog has left the safe place, other times it won’t tell me at all. -My device broke quite badly and wouldn’t clip on to the attachment any longer, luckily customer service was nice enough to agree to send me a replacement device, attachment and a charger. When the package arrived a week later there was just the device and nothing else and I had to go back and forth to get the attachment. I always said that I only need the tracker to “work once” in case my dog ever gets out of my sight but this company has consistently eroded my trust in the product to the point that I am going through to the end of my subscription then getting another product.Zach G.

I've had this tracker for about 11 months. The clip design needs to be redone to be something stronger. The clip is plastic with four prongs. Recently one of the prongs broke off while my dog was wearing the tracker and it fell off (she must have ran into something while playing) but I didn't realize right away that the tracker was no longer on her. If she had gotten loose and a similar thing had happened it would have been impossible to find her. I can still reattach the tracker to the collar, but with only three prongs holding it I don't trust it. The "1 year warranty" says it only covers technical issues and not physical damage to the tracker or losing the tracker. So, I'm looking for new solutions. To Whistle: Even if hit is a rare occurrence, please redesign that attachment out of a strong material, it can't cost that much more but would really ensure that the tracker does not come detached from the collar.Greg

I love my Whistle devices. I bought my first one after finding my labrador who liked to escape and got lost for 32 days. She was lost in a suburban area and wouldn't go up to strangers and survived by herself in a greenbelt area only a few miles from my home. After I found her I immediately bought the original Whistle and it worked great. She had a lot of separation anxiety after that and would jump the fence if she got scared while I was at work but the Whistle let me know immediately and I was able to drive right to her. The peace of mind to be able to find your lost dog instantly is worth every penny, especially if you have ever driven around desperately trying to find them and worrying about them. She passed away this year at 15 years of age and we recently got a new puppy. I immediately got a Whistle Go for her and it is fantastic. The light function is very smart in case she gets lost at night and the tracking and battery life are even better than the original. The health (scratching, etc) monitoring is neat but my main interest is GPS tracking. It does not give false alerts and the setup of "safe zones" is easy and accurate. I recommend the whistle to all my friends. The new puppy is a mix and looks like she will be about 30 pounds max and the Whistle Go looks a bit large for her size so I contacted Whistle to see if I could return it and get a Whistle Switch and they were easy to work with. I am looking forward to receiving my Whistle Switch and trying it out on her. Based on my experience with the company, I have no doubt it will work great and I will be just as happy with it.Mark E.

I bought this food 2 weeks ago because my dog has been picky about her food for months now. I have tried Hills Science, Purina Pro, Blue Buffalo – all puppy dry food. I think she really doesn’t like the chicken taste so I thought I’d try something different. From the start when I was phasing out the old food with the new she was way more interested in eating. She also stopped biting her arms which I thought was due to a seasonal allergy but now think it was actually a food allergy. I’m really satisfied with the food! I wish someone would make small sample bags of pet food to allow owners of pets to know if their pet will like it or not before wasting money purchasing several different kinds trying to please fussy pants pets! Or maybe have a tasting station with small bowls of pet food set up for the pet to try in the store! We’ve been feeding Taste of the Wild Appalachian for small dogs for about a year now after switching to about 10 different brands. He loves it. The kibble is small, and the food is palatable and healthy. I wish the small kibble was available in fish and sweet potato too, but this has some fish in it. It’s a great choice in food for a very picky little dog. Now if he would only stop chewing his feet. This is new and been going on for about a year or so. Purchased for my bull arab (50kg) who goes barking mad on the way to the beach in the tray of the ute. It's only excitement but upsets all other dogs around. I only put it on 3-4 and he barked once, then was quiet for the rest of the ride. Haven't tried in in water (especially salty water as the last collar perished because of this) but it's easy to put on and remove so not a hassle when we get there. Also very sturdy.Ingrid B.

Exactly what i was after Only ever have had to use it on level 2 and it has shocked my dog maybe twice and she doesn’t really bark much at all anymore. I only have to put it on every now and again if she gets barky again but it’s made an amazing difference in our home. Our dogs were barking all day everyday and we live on a corner block so whenever anyone walked past they would bark their heads off and wake the baby. Now they walk to the fence and sniff. We have a very very stubborn German Shepherd male who barks through all of the cheaper collars we have bought him. I swear he barks at the wind or an ant crawling past the gate it was unbearable and many many sleepless nights. We bought the Dogtra YS600 and had to buy longer prongs as his hair is SO thick. Setting 1 and 2 did not do anything so we turned it up to level 3 and he barked and let out a big Yelp! And was quiet straight away. This was a game changer for our dog. Several very bad behaviors/habits were corrected within a week of getting this collar. Obviously your results will depend on your dog and how you use this, but this was an invaluable tool for training our dog. Some details: 1) We find that the charge lasts a couple of days (we take it off and turn it off at night when the dog is sleeping). 2) Range is at least a few hundred yards. Never have tested out to the advertised 400 yd range. 3) The vibrate feature is very helpful (and pretty much the only thing we have had to use since the initial training). 4) The "Nick" shock feature is a great attention getter for the dog. 5) The range of shock levels provides everything from you can hardly notice it to pretty intense.In PDX

I purchased this and trained my dog Neko with it with a professional trainer a few months ago. This device was a lifesaver. Neko is a Shiba inu and they are extremely high energy, love to run and are very intelligent and curious. Neko escaped my fenced yard 4 times by digging, and I have heard that some Shibas can jump and scale fences up to 8ft. So I defitly needed something. I’ve tested this on myself and the “shock” is not so bad if you stay below 20 it just allows the dog to “hear” you in stressful or loud/distracting situations, and it lets them connect the command with the action without you chasing them or forcing them into it. I associate the commands sit, stay, Come, place, free, off and heel with the unit and now she is such an amazing dog, and I don’t have to worry!!eri.v
