I just received my cat carrier today. It is sturdy and well-equipped. It has the regular carrying handles and it also has a large shoulder strap with ample cushioning on it. It opens from the top or there is a flap on the front of the carrier if you prefer to put the cat/dog in that way. Our cat has only been in a cat carrier one time and there was a lot of "fighting" just to get her into it. I suppose this one would be no easier to load a cat/dog. The carrier is black with mesh sides and front and there is a short leash attached to the inside, if needed. I wish it was a nicer color though. Our cat is also black, so it will be harder for us to see her once we put her inside. The carrier looks and feels very strong and durable though. I have two dogs a 6 year old 50 lb medium dog and a new 6 month old 15 lb small puppy. This could technically fit both of them (not at the same time). The medium dog could Get in and be some what comfortable for a short period of time. The small puppy Would have a ton of room. This was super easy to put together and would be just as simple To take apart and travel with if needed. We got a smaller bed in there now but getting a bigger one to add soon. We use this everyday in our Living room for when our puppy (who is very timid) gets Scared or if someone is coming over we can have her go in there. The kennel is a solid plastic with a handle. It’s capable of handling the size and weight of a small dog, cat or other animal. In my case, it was perfect for transporting two adult guinea pigs. You can put a rubber backed bath rug inside, cut down, to keep the pet from skidding around. It’s important that it be rubber backed so the pad doesn’t slide. The handle can be used to put the seatbelt through. The kennel is easy enough to assemble with screws and plastic nuts. You can keep the top off to use it as a bed, or the door off. Both are a good idea if you want to get your pet used to it on their own terms. The lid can also be used for a cat to hide under. If you do use this for housebreaking, the top not coming off easily is going to be a headache for nasty messes. I’m used to the flip locks that other carriers have for stationary use. I in no way feel this is a flimsy or poorly made kennel. I just don’t feel it’s as good as it can be. There are pieces of raised plastic where I expected it to have: a seatbelt holder, storage for poop bags and a compartment with a double dish that attaches to the inside of the cage door. When my dog was a 8 week old puppy I had this in x-small for him. He out grew that and this one seems to be perfect for him. We just used it to take a road trip to New England and New Brunswick Canada. My 14 lb dog fit if he was laying down, but it was super tight. I think an xl would be perfect for him. Super fun that the side windows can be rolled up or down. Bought this carrier before adopting our 6mo kitten. It came with a soft insert, but we added an extra fleece blanket given to us from the shelter for added comfort. I love this bag. It’s very sturdy and convenient, perfect size and doesn’t collapse on the bottom or top when using. My puppy also loves it already! This is a very nice soft sided carrier. The size is more than adequate for my almost 8 pound cat. The base is very sturdy and well constructed. The handles are firmly attached and the snap closure is well made. The mesh top is also very nicely fashioned. My cat is not very cooperative when being placed in a carrier, so putting an extra blanket at the base is something I do in this bag. There is a nice leash strap included within the bag which would allow for keeping the pet within, when attached to their collar. I like the neutral fabric color and the overall design of this bag. This is a very practical choice for a smaller sized pet cat or dog. This bag could be used with travel or just transportation to another home or pet vet visit.michigangirl
This is a nice and sturdy pet carrier. It has a soft padded bottom that can be removed, if you choose not to use it. I could not tell if it was washable or not, but it does not seem to be. It has a zippered opening across the top, which is convenient and the top is also made with a vented material so the pet gets some air. It really could use more venred areas to help keep your pet cooler in the summer months. There is a nice sized opening for your pets head to be able to be outside and has a latch to put on your pets collar or harness. It is long enough that it can be left on, if your pet lays down with it’s head toward the opening. It also has two pockets on one side to put things in. I bought this last fall to travel to Europe and Central America with my cat. When I received it, the new plastic or synthetic fabric smell was too much for me and definitely too much for my cat. I called the manufacturer and they told me to spray it with air freshener. I did and left it sitting open for a few weeks. Once I used it, the smell went away. At one point my cat did pee in it. I hand washed it, but couldn't get the urine smell out. Once I put it in the washer it came out smelling clean. I do love the bag, but if you're getting one, get it ahead of time. There is plenty of space for a cat to move and turn around. It's a great shape that fits under the seat. Perfect for any travel. The only down side is that it's heavy. The top section plastic feels a bit flimsy, but the bottom portion seems to easily hold the weight of 15 pounds. It is roomy for a small dog and provides a safe space and easy transport. The top looks like it has compartments which would be nice to store paperwork and a leash, but these do not open. I believe this is a missed opportunity to add a convenient and needed feature. Ordered this about 3 weeks ago and we love it! It does take some patience, practice and lots of treats. I just received the booster seat and wow has that really changed the game! We were definitely already making progress but we used the booster for the first time today and has really sealed the deal. Before our 18lb. Boston would constantly try to stand in it. There was no flat bottom, just the canvas so it didn’t really feel secure. This booster gives a nice solid base for her to sit on. It felt more comfortable for me too. We use our K9 Sport Sack with Koda, our 14 week old, 10kg Lab puppy, so she can enjoy some of our hill walks as a family while she's little enough to carry, without a worry on the effect on her young joints. I find it easy to put Koda into the Sport Sack, though we both need to kneel initially. No problem to put this precious cargo on and off my shoulders but I think most people will find a 2 – person team works best.
