Let me prequalify this by saying that I am a fan of PetSafe Products. The Stay and Play Wireless fence and the Large Dog Citronella Anti-Bark Collars have worked flawlessly for my medium size indoor/outdoor pup. I also have a 1.5 year old Yorkie, and the PetSafe Elite Little Dog Spray Bark Control has design and operational flaws that I can't overlook: 1. The unit's sensor is not a typical rear sensor, and it doesn't pick-up normal barking unless it is high intensity (this is WHEN it works). 2. The unit does not last for the full amount of sprays. 3. The unit has to be at a high level of tightness to the point of almost choking the dog to remain in place in order to be correctly positioned to both pick-up the barking and deliver the spray. 4. The unit does not have an ON/OFF switch other than turning the battery, and then you have to manipulate even that when wanting to reset the bark counter. The bark counter should be reset in the electronics when the battery is removed if that's the case and reflect this in the refill directions for the spray. At the end of the day, I have use spray collars for my outdoor dog at my home for years, so I am familiar with the quirks. I have remained faithful to PetSafe, and they never let me down. The Elite Little Dog Spray collar is not up to their usually high standards. I have bought one, exchanged one, and bought another to give this product a fair chance, and I am heading to Petco this morning to return the last one as a disappointed customer. I bought two of these and neither of them worked. The first one worked for about a week of occasional use. Then it started leaking a steady, tiny hiss of spray from the intake hole. Months later, on a road trip w/now 2 small dogs I picked up 2 of the older, silver models that use the 6 volt batteries. They still work great (2 years later, intermittent use for overnights away from home or having exciting visitors that the dogs celebrate vocally, Enthusiastically, unceasingly. I must admit, I was skeptical of these kinds of products, but because my 12-year-old Shih Tzu has been exhibiting a lot of separation anxiety for the past few years–resulting in lots of barking and a neighbor complaining — I decided to give it a try. I got this bark collar for my two dogs and it worked wonderfully for a few months. They completely stopped barking! But then, the battery wouldn't stay charged. I was told that I might be doing something wrong that ruined the battery. Customer Service was uber helpful (5 stars for them!) and they sent me a new collar for free. I ended up going through five collars in just a few months with the same problem each time. The rechargeable battery is the only problem with this product, but it is a huge problem. When I finally asked Customer Service if they had any spray collars with a different type of battery, they directed me to the Elite Spray Bark Collar. When I got the collar they only had the one for little dogs, but it still works amazingly for my big dogs! It does all the same things as the rechargeable one except that it uses non-rechargeable batteries. These batteries last way longer than the rechargeable one though so it's a win-win! Supposed to have 35-45 sprays but it sure didnât. We put the collar on him and angled the camera so we could watch him and try to train him to stop. He barked and it sprayed. He continued to bark. It continued to spray. It shut off like itâs supposed to. We went in and the whole place smelled like citronella. We walked back out after trying to calm him. He barked and it sprayed. He kept barking and then it stopped spraying and started flashing that it was out. The. Citronella cartridge only had maybe 5-8 sprays. We had to leave for a few hours that afternoon and we put the unscented cartridge in. After being gone for only an hour or two it was empty as well. We watched video of him and he continued to bark through the sprays. It had no effect. However, it also only had maybe 10ish sprays in it total. The cartridges arenât worth the money as they donât have what they are supposed to have in them. The collar was not worth the money as the spray didnât even phase our dog. For starters I am not a person who usually leaves reviews but this product deserves it! I bought two of these collars for my two of my noisier dogs. I have tried everything to control their barking – trying to distract them with treats, spraying them with water to correct the behaviour, using high frequency clicker and using a training collar that I would beep if they barked as a warning and then it would vibrate if they barked again. None of these worked so I gave up for a bit, until I saw this collar come up as I was researching new collars to try – I decided to give it a shot since it was different than the methods I have previously tried. My god, it is incredible! I put the collar on my noisiest dog, a terrier, (his barking is out of control) and he barked once and it sprayed him and he has not barked since – I went from having him bark at every little sound he heard outdoors to peace and quiet. The collar has some pretty big (1") sensor probes that look not so comfortable on the neck, probably necessary for the deterrent. The on/off is pretty sensitive to get it on, you need a dime or something to turn on/off which is good so when the dog wears it the normal movements won't accidentally turn it off. That being said, it is necessary to move it around to the exact position and confirm green light that it is on. You can't just turn it to the word ON, it may need to be ever so slightly adjusted a fraction one way or the other to make sure it is on. Our particular experience seemed to work well on our dog, it only took a couple of times of it vibrating to startle our dog and get her to realize that it was because she barked. It didn't seem to vibrate on growling only barking and we had it pretty tight and her hair is short. It would not be something you would want to leave on your dog forever because I am sure the probes in the neck are not so comfortable for the dog. Overall my dog has reduced her barking about 90% even without the collar on. If she has a particular barking episode on our lanai we put the collar back on for a while and she figures it out. She does seem pretty sad with it on but she is learning quickly and hopefully it won't be for long. The vibration doesn't seem to hurt her, just startle her and that does the job. I think the results could really vary from dog to dog and maybe the breed tendencies play into it. For the investment and result WE got it was well worth it to have less barking here in Hawaii and that peace for us and our neighbors.SDaymon

I'll first start by saying I never do reviews. However I was at my wits end with our nine month old chiweenie. I thought my husband was going to kill me and the dog…and I was praying my neighbors did not have guns because this little 8 pound cutie barked like a 100 lb squealing pig at anything and everything! Previous to this device I tried the citronella collar and the ultrasonic remote. Neither phased her. I will say on day one I thought this thing was a piece of junk. I called pet safe and learned that the collar needs to be tightly fitted on the dogs neck or it will not work. After adjusting the collar and I was still on the phone with the representative my Daisy girl went outside and I witnessed it working immediately. We still have some light barking which I imagine occurs before the strengthened static but it is completely manageable. I will say after reading the reviews we have lucked out with the battery⊠It has been in use with an aggressive Barker for a month and still has not needed to be replaced. Our only downside is that the collar is bulky⊠I take it off when she comes inside. If I do forget to put it on when she goes outside she will bark up a storm again! I bought two Basic Static Bark collars to help alleviate my puggle's and beagle's separation anxiety barking when we are not at home. The collars are fitted properly and in accordance with instructions and the batteries are working, yet BOTH dogs continue to bark. The biggest problem is that both collars tend to move to one side of the dogs' necks, so the dogs are probably not receiving the static correction. The directions state to "REPOSITION THE COLLAR ON THE PET'S NECK EVERY 1 TO 2 HOURS.." Obviously, if we are not home, this is impossible to do. I'll first start by saying I never do reviews. However I was at my wits end with our nine month old chiweenie. I thought my husband was going to kill me and the dog…and I was praying my neighbors did not have guns because this little 8 pound cutie barked like a 100 lb squealing pig at anything and everything! Previous to this device I tried the citronella collar and the ultrasonic remote. Neither phased her. I will say on day one I thought this thing was a piece of junk. I called pet safe and learned that the collar needs to be tightly fitted on the dogs neck or it will not work. After adjusting the collar and I was still on the phone with the representative my Daisy girl went outside and I witnessed it working immediately. We still have some light barking which I imagine occurs before the strengthened static but it is completely manageable. I will say after reading the reviews we have lucked out with the battery⊠It has been in use with an aggressive Barker for a month and still has not needed to be replaced. Our only downside is that the collar is bulky⊠I take it off when she comes inside. If I do forget to put it on when she goes outside she will bark up a storm again! I bought two Basic Static Bark collars to help alleviate my puggle's and beagle's separation anxiety barking when we are not at home. The collars are fitted properly and in accordance with instructions and the batteries are working, yet BOTH dogs continue to bark. The biggest problem is that both collars tend to move to one side of the dogs' necks, so the dogs are probably not receiving the static correction. The directions state to "REPOSITION THE COLLAR ON THE PET'S NECK EVERY 1 TO 2 HOURS.." Obviously, if we are not home, this is impossible to do. I only put it on 3-4 and he barked once, then was quiet for the rest of the ride. Exactly what i was after Only ever have had to use it on level 2 and it has shocked my dog maybe twice and she doesnât really bark much at all anymore. I only have to put it on every now and again if she gets barky again but itâs made an amazing difference in our home. Researching and ordering the collar from the Bark Control website was seamless. The bark collar was received in short time via Australia Post Express. It appears to be well made and fairly robust. Operation of and fitting the collar is easy, directions are included and are simple to follow. Hi It is rare that I take the time to comment, positively or negatively on any product but felt I had to in this case. Some background, we had 4 dogs and live in a basic suburban housing area with most homes being on 1/3-1/2 acre lots. In February we rescued a 1 year old great pyrenes. We are her 5th home. If you know anything about this breed you know they barkâŠA LOT!!!! I try to be a good neighbor and when Maya starts to bark I would try to get her to come in. This was not always the easiest thing to do and required chasing here. There were many times when she was in the house she would just start barking and continue to do so for over an hour. We would put her in the back room and turn on Cartoon Network for her and eventually she would bark herself to sleep. About 2 weeks ago I got a call from one of my neighbors. Our yards meet corner to corner. He told me that he recently retired and likes to relax by his pool but with the dog barking he is having a hard time relaxing. He was planning to contact the city to see what his rights were. Maya is a sweet girl and didnât want to be forced to giving her up so I did some research on line. Thatâs when I came across the barkwise complete. I didnât want a shock collar as I feel that is torture so this fit the bill and I ordered one. The collar arrived on a Friday and I charged it overnight. I put it on Maya Saturday morning. When I put her out (with the other âkidsâ) she ran to the fence and barked once, stopped in her tacks and doubled back towards our pool. She has been using the collar now for just over a week and the change in her is nothing short of amazing! Once in a while when outside she might give one or two barks but that is it. I spoke with my neighbor and told him what I did and he was impressed as well. I was super hesitant to order these collars for my two dogs. I thought, if these work so great why have I never heard of them? But I just moved from a country setting into town and my dogs have been barking their heads off at all the stimuli and I donât want to make enemies of my new neighbors and I have a 5 month old they keep waking up. So in a moment of frustration I ordered them and crossed my fingers. I put the collars on the dogs last night and for my smart dog it only took one bark to stop barking and my dumb dog it took maybe 5 barks. Now they have stopped barking at: people knocking on the door, people passing by, cats and squirrels in the yard and they have even stopped barking to be let in. My mind is blown. Iâm so happy I didnât have to get shock collars to stop them barking. I do want to say that it does drain them a bit to wear them so I think itâs humane to try to limit the amount of time they wear them. So Iâm only putting them on when I need to. I just feel bad for dogs if they have to wear them all the time. Iâll always have the dogs wear them when we have company coming over because they used to bark at people when they came in and Iâll make sure they are wearing them in the yard and when my son is napping. Both of my dogs are around 30 lbs and the collar fits them on the tightest setting. Collar works well. You need to pair it with reinforcement training. Has really helped our dogs who became extra sensitive to people coming to the house during the pandemic. NOTE: the collar has a major flaw which is that the rubber piece to keep water off the controls is not properly toleranced/designed. This is a huge risk as it comes loose often and the sensitivity goes really high causing false alarms and mental damage to dogs. To solve this, I taped it shut with electrical tape and cut a hole for the charger. Unfortunately this hurts water resistance. This seal needs to be redesigned. Iâll be livid if my collars die due to water intrusion but thatâs a better risk than traumatizing my dogs. If they fix this issue, Iâd easily give the product 5 stars. This collar really does work. Ive had a problem with my French Bulldog continuously barking when he is in the garden, he would bark at anything that flew over, birds, butterflies and even aeroplanes. He would bark if he heard another dog or if my snobby neighbours sat in their garden talking or eating and talking to their dog but completely ignoring mine, all of my other neighbours love him to bits and talk to him over the fence. I purchased two of these as have two noisy schnauzers. One of the dogs is nervous so reacted quickly to the beeps and vibration as disliked it. The other just barks at everyone! So on wearing the collars, the nervous yappy one … would make little noise but not dare bark. disappointed. Its a poor design. The rounded part (NOT the part against the dogs neck) is what really vibrates. My dog (35lb spaniel) doesn't seem to feel it! Also "high" vs "low" setting – Low is slow, High is faster, but still not vibrating MORE! I intend to try to put it on some other way adn trying more, but so far totally useless. This is the second collar I've tried . The first one lasted 2 days and worked great , then it wouldn't hold a charge ! So they sent me a knew one ,I plugged it in and followed the directions .
