Small Corn Dog Fryer For Sale (2024 Update)

The deep fryer is great for preparing small amounts when cooking for two. I recently had to have mine replaced under warranty and it was handled very well. The function of the appliance is great. However, I do have an issue with the odor from the appliance itself that was not there with the previous one. Not sure if this will wear off with use or not but it seems to flavor the food as well. I'm going to try a new oil and see if that changes anything.Brea

Nicest little deep fryer for two. My son and I like to fry homemade chicken nuggets and this is the geatest. Using homemade breading or flour you just have to make sure you let them dry first so they don't stick. Used it last night and is very easy to clean. . Has a filter that can be washed after so many uses and has a small spout on the corner to empty the oil. I have an oil contaner to store the oil in the refrigerator for next use and it screens the oil. Very easy to clean out on the inside with two cups of water and some soap. You don't stick it in water. Has lights to let you know when it is done also. All in the directions. Glad I bought it!WeebsMom

Love, love, love! We already had a fry daddy when we purchased this fryer. But with the exception of just a few things that we need a bigger volume for, this fryer gets way more use in our kitchen. It makes amazing French fries, fries everything I have put in it to perfection. The basket holds approximately one medium serving of fries, so I wind up doing batches for our family. It takes a little bit longer than the fry daddy, but it’s so worth it. I have fried everything from fries and tots, to fish and shrimp, to chicken wings and stuffed rellenos. All super good! Totally impressed. Very easy to use and clean. Keep in mind it says "mini" but it makes 1/2 corndogs. I use 1 box of Jiffy Cornbread Mix (58 cents a box at Walmart) and it easily makes 12 "1/2" corndogs. I also use a better quality of hot dog (Nathans or Hebrew National). I never buy gimmick-type appliances – but I was craving corndogs and this one was a hit! For sticks, I just used the skewers they sell at the dollar store. If you have a big family, I would probably purchase two of these. Gonna try it with sticks of Velveeta too!Debbie

This is my first time I got a deep fryer. Prior to this I have been using a wok to deep fry food, and more recently an air fryer. While deep frying in wok definitely needs more oil than air frying, it used to serve my needs well. This deep fryer is well made, and includes all the instructions to use it for first timers like me. It is not very complicated to use it, but every bit of instruction helps especially when using a new gadget. I washed the washable parts and wiped the others and was ready to launch it in 15-20 mins. My experience frying some potato cakes was very similar to how I used to fry them in a wok before. This one looked more formal and more professional though. The results were similar to my previous method. The reasons for giving 2 stars less are: 1) It uses a lot more oil than what I used with a wok. And it's not because this is wider. It's just that a lot of oil goes below and around the element coil which heats the oil. So you end up needing lot more oil to cover the coils and then more on top. The stuff you want to fry is cooking in the "more on top" portion of the oil. 2) The basket for deep frying gets food stuck to it. While that happens when deep frying, because the basket is like a mesh, it is extremely difficult to scrape or scratch the stuck food out of it while frying. While the fryer is robust and works as designed, because of the 2 above issues, it's not something that I would use regularly. It might be more appropriate for commercial uses.Gaurav

This Elite Gourmet 1.6 quart stainless steel deep fryer is the perfect size for one or two people and is easy to use. It comes with an instruction manual and some assembly is required but everything is simple to understand and takes very little time to have this deep fryer ready to use. There is a red power indicator light, temperature control knob, green ready indicator light, one wire basket with a convenient hook to easily drain excess oil from your fried foods. I like how simple it is to clean this deep fryer and it has a removable oil tank to make changing the oil simple and easy. There is a minimum and maximum oil level line on the inside of the oil tank so you know what the oil level should be. It has a carbon filter located in the lid and you just remove the filter cover to change them. There is even a food frying guide in the instruction manual so you know what temperature and time to cook different fried foods. This is very handy for inexperienced cooks so they have a guide to look at also there are deep fryer recipes that you can make. This is a very well made deep fryer and works like it should. Works great for frying Corn Dogs! Use it all the time. Clean up is difficult but with the right grease removal, it is all worth it. Product does come with the 2 standard six position clip assembly, but it does not have the little bee hive looking handles on them. I love the small size of this Fry Daddy. It is just right for frying small batches of anything: french fries, shrimp, hush puppies, chicken tenders, fried okra…you name it and I will fry it in this great kitchen appliance. I like that you can store the used grease in it to reuse for another frying session. They are very easy to clean and hold a steady frying temperature. Of course, they hold very hot grease so it is important to not overload it because it does boil up when you first add the food to be fried. This is the perfect size for 1 or 2 people. My mother has always wanted one so she's getting this for Christmas!LynnB

It's just the right size for a one person household. Using just 4 cups of oil, it makes economic sense to simply dump the dirty and smelly used oil and replace it with fresh. You will know when it's time. It runs hotter than the 375F advertised. After 10 minutes preheat the oil temp was well above the 400F limit on my thermometer, which I have verified to be accurate. Now I wish I had bought the model with heat controls. While no recipe book is included, I quickly found a ton of info on the internet by searching Google and YouTube for "deep fryer recipes". I tossed the included plastic ladle, which I don't want to dip into oil that hot, and use a steel ladle I had saved from a FryDaddy I had many years ago. Overall, having a lot of fun with it, and the breaded shrimp is to die for.Donald

What an amazing little deep fryer for the price. Very simple to use as there is no on off or temperature setting. Simply plug it in to power it up, unplug it to shut it down. This is the perfect size for our theater room. On game days chicken nuggets, mini corn dogs, taquitos, cheese curds, tater tots, chicken legs, etc. The key to successful results with this is to not overload it and do items in smaller batches. Having said that a batch of six chicken nuggets or 10 tater tot's is just right. This tends to run on the warmer side of deep fryer temperatures so I personally use canola oil because of the higher smoke point. When properly done deep-fried food is not greasy. I would buy this unit again in a heartbeat.RoadGnome

You expect your appliances to last a few years. In this case barely 18 months after the purchase the only thing that works on this is the light. The oil will not reach temp at all. Fries now come out tasting oil soaked and soggy instead of nice an crispy brown. Unless you can afford to buy new appliances every few months this is a bad buy. one of the best fryers we have owned. we got home and the fryer was waiting at our door. couldn't wait to crank it up and fry something. it cooked perfectly, did five different foods, all perfect at exact finish time. homemade french fries to absolute perfection. as for some of it's short comings in other reviews. no its not cold to the touch. but you have oil at 375f inside the fryer. the idea is not to be cold as ice cream, the idea is to be safe to the touch and it definitely is that. one thing that could be made a little better is the lid hinge, so it doesn't come off and a smoother operation of the slide down handle on the basket. otherwise its about as good as you are going to get for under a hundred dollars. could it be built better? yes, absolutely. however, it's not a five hundred dollar fryer. in conclusion, if you like to make homemade fries and great breaded mushrooms, at home. you want something safe, clean, no grease mess or sticky feeling after frying. something that holds temperature, cooks perfectly and again is much safer than an open fryer. the cool daddy is wonderful. you definitely get your monies worth.gary

I like this fryer for several reasons. The temperature control, the indicator light, the fact that i can raise and lower the basket without having to open the lid, that it has a filter to filter out fumes…that said, there are a few improvements i’d make. First, I’d make the view window larger. It’s pretey small. Second, the basket has several places on it that are extremely difficult to clean even with a small wire brush. Third, the lid has a metal plate that you have to unscrew to clean the underside of it. You can see how nasty it gets when you remove the filter but you can’t get to it without inscrewing it from the cover. That needs to be simplified. And lastly, is in the very name itself. This is not cool to the touch. The plastic heats up quite a lot. But it is super reliable as ot gets used just about every day.Faith

I had this instant Vortex mini air fryer for a while and I love it. I love the convenience and it takes up little counter space this has 4 -1 are fries, baked, roast, and reheat. I love that it has a durable handle. it's very fast cooking extremely easy cleaning and the food tastes a lot more healthier coming out of it. I bought my aqua Vortex mini from Walmart. I decided it was best to get a $50 2 quart air fryer to try before investing in a big one with bells and whistles. I liked the ease of use on the vortex mini, which is like the regular vortex. The digital buttons allow you to choose the cooking mode and use the dial to easily adjust time and temp. Make sure to follow instructions in the manual and BEFORE FIRST USE, clean the cooking chamber + tray and then do a test run like the manual says. I think that’s why I didn’t have the plastic smell after the test run. I am on weight watchers so my recipes are lighter. Still, I found ample recipes online. I also easily found conversion charts for temp and cooking time so that I can cook my older recipes using air fry. I have found my mini vortex has inspired me to cook more and cook new recipes. Today, I made WW friendly mozzarella sticks in 7 minutes. Zucchini tots are my favorite. For one person, they mini is all you need. If you want to make bigger portions or larger dishes with baking molds or pans, get the 4, 6, or 10 quart vortex. If I decide I need a bigger vortex, I’ll upgrade. Word of caution: Make sure to never place food in that’s high enough to potentially contact the heating coil. The one mistake I made was putting French rolls in my mini to crisp up. The roll must have shifted as I inserted the tray and contacted the heating coil because less than a minute later, black smoke started to billow out. Turned off machine immediately and let it cool off. Tried the baking soda and water paste method instant pot customer service recommended to get the blackened, burned bread off the coil but didn’t work so I had to return it and will buy a new vortex. Lesson learned! I really loved my mini vortex and am not hesitating to buy a replacement.MaggieSD

My family and I really enjoyed our other air fryer as it was so easy and convenient for us! The minute they saw this, we haven't stopped trying new things to eat!! The control panel is very easy to read and use and the enclosed information guide will help you through it. I love cooking two different things at the same time and it's all healthy! I love my outdoor deep fryer. The only thing I wish I had is temperature control, so I can set the temperature instead of trying to control it through the propane tank. It's a large capacity, I cook wings, fries, turkey and anything else that can be deep fried. Great fryer! Cooked on it at a friends house and knew I had to have one. So much easier than traditional way of cooking with simple pot and burner. Ease to keep oil in fryer and cover up with elements outside. If you enjoy cooking and have cookouts, parties this is the way to go. Would like to see Bayou Classic make a cover that incorporates the whole fryer and not just the top. I did purchase the cart for ease of moving around my patio. Purchased this as a replacement for my older fryer that was bigger with a basket. I had fry baby/daddy many years ago and liked them. So when replacing my old fryer I chose the pappy. Smaller than my older one which I like. Doesnt take up as much room but still does what I need. Like the lid and the scooping tools (wish they were still metal tho).Dino62

Great little fryer. I researched several and kept coming back to this one. It's easy to use and maintain! I have fried chicken, tater tots, and fish in it and it works great. Keep a good cooking thermometer handy and just monitor the fry temperature and you'll be all set. It has only one setting (all on) but you always want to make sure the grease is hot enough to fry (at least 350). I also recommend that if you cook chicken in it, make sure it's at room temperature and it helps to cut it into smaller strips or pieces.guitarman427

I highly recommend this deep fryer. It requires way less oil than the other deep fryers. I love the fact that there' s no basket. There's only one temperature setting, and no controls. As soon as you plug it in, it's turned on. The key is to not overload it. The food will cook very fast if you leave enough room. The handle could get hot. I recommend buying a scoop colander.Jessica

Purchased this unit last week and couldn't wait to try it out. Didn't have a problem with the cord, I know you can't have any kind of pull…it is a magnetic connection for safety reasons. What I have a complaint about is the temperature of the oil. I used 2 separate thermometers and a digital, max temp on the oil is only 325 degrees with the control knob set at the highest of 375 degrees. This is allowing foods to soak up oil. So I am dissatisfied with this item, was looking forward to using this as it was the perfect size fryer for me.Katz

Great things come in all sorts of packages. This thing sure does help with quick side portions whenever I have company over, but a small downside that everyone should focus on is the amount of stuff you can put inside this fryer. I'm still going giving it the 5 stars that it deserves, only because I got it for free (using my best buy points that I've accumulated) but it is a small "con" that shouldn't be even considered in that context because you should have thought about the serving portions before you thought about picking this item up. IT is a good LITTLE frier. Great for the occasional frier, but this is not a workhorse by any means. It is good to fry small chicken breasts (2) and a large order of fries, but this lil baby will not be able to handle a family of four unless you keep the other items warmed. I do wish that the oil container was removable for easy cleanup–but it is not-so when you wash it, you have to be super carefule not to get the switch wet. I use the basket for fries and no basket for fish or chicken. best part is i got this on a slick deal so it was worth the money.loop6719

Bought the 5.8 quart Copper finished model (no longer sold) a couple of years ago. Absolutely no issues, other than for some reason the little plastic piece that hides the button on the basket seems to break with regularity. Not unusable, (and not enough, for me, to lower the 5-star rating), just one of the little tabs that hold it in place. We have always used the parchment liners (200 on Amazon for around $10), machine still functions flawlessly. As an added note in regards to Pam sprays, also, NEVER use them on your nonstick cookware for the same reason! However, if you need to use a spray, I recommend Baker's Joy. It doesn't have the same chemical makeup as the Pam's, etc, and will not harm the nonstick. We have been using it for years, pans still look and work as good as when brand new.Gordon

A friend gave us this item as a gift. Excited to give it a go. Did frozen beer batterd cod. Then frozen breaded onion rings. Followed immediately by frozen egg rolls and frozen tempura battered shrimp. WOW!!! Previously cooked those items in the microwave, oven or grill. NO COMPARISON! This air fryer produced the crispiest product and was far more easy to use AND cleanup than the other appliances. We highly recommend if you enjoy eating breaded frozen products!!! I have nothing but good to say about my fryer. I purchased it 4 years ago for my business and today it still frys as if I just took it out of the box. No complaints at all, and now that I am expanding I plan to purchase two of the double well fryers. Wish I could find them in gaschicken buck

I was super disappointed when I opened the box. All the metal is paper thin, the turkey holder was bent before I even touched it. The propane hose attachment requires a tap/ die to get it connected, the threads were practically nonexistent. I used it once and the 30qt pot is warped, everything almost feels like one time use quality. If I had seen in person first I never would have purchased. Spend your money on something with better quality, this thing is junk.Dutchman22

Love it. Many great features. Built in temp gauge, great basket design that works. I believe the heating system is better than traditional. I didn't have to adjust the gas as much as I would using the heat from bottom system. Easy to clean. Definitely a 5-star product.anonymous

We've had this small deep fryer for a few months and it has performed very well. It's just big enough for a single serving. It's also small enough, thanks to the folding handle that makes it nicely compact, to store unobtrusively on our counter. The ability to use it with the lid closed helps to cut down on the odor of the grease. We are very happy with this purchase.TMC123

It is cheaply made! The handle is hard to raise for the basket. Only reason I'm keeping it is: I don't cook much anymore. It will work long enough for me, maybe. I will not recommend this product to anyone. Sorry!Ginny

This was exactly the size I was looking for and by a great brand. However, it’s extremely flimsy. The handle on the basket is designed in such a way that the basket flops. Even the metal seems extremely light and not to Cuisinart standards. I haven’t tried it yet so I can’t speak to performance but it’s definitely not what I expected.Kimquilts2
