I have a Chocolate Lab that weights in at about 80 pounds. She is really hard to fit for a harness. They are always to big on the top/neck to fit her on the chest. Finally I have one that fits her in both places the she seems very comfortable in. The PetSafe 3 in 1 Harness is adjustable at both the top/neck and the chest. It has a nice padding for comfort. It gives the ability to walk her from the front or back which is great depending on how you want to walk your dog or the situation you are in. Bonus feature for the dog that loves to ride in the car, is the strap on the back that the seat belt can slide through to secure your dog in the car. I can honestly say that the front no pull option didn't stop my girl from pulling if something distracted her enough. Mine ripped in the same place others have complain about. My dog did not chew it. It was so odd as I was taking the dog to class and it just fell apart. Wasn’t even pulling on it. I have two Easy Walk harnesses that are 11 and 12 years old and still going strong. However I bought one for my new puppy and it’s much thinner and flimsy looking. I love the versatility of this harness. I am able to use this for my car rides or when going out for a walk with my dog. We always have trouble with keeping him still in the car and am afraid he will fall or get hurt when driving. I was able to put this harness and attach to my seat Belt while still giving him wiggle room. It’s great for walking out too the only thing I find uncomfortable is how the front clip is set. It’s supposed to prevent my dog from pulling and it does help with this a lot, however I find it uncomfortable to attach a leash to. Usually I am used to having the leash at the top or dog’s back. This has both so its very versatile like I said. My doggy seems to be comfortable in this harness too so the pull clip I will not use but may work great for other owners. I bought the small harness for my excitable 2 year old cockapoo. The product was very easy to put on him, and it appeared to make him feel more secure during the car journey. The only problem I have encountered is with regards to the removing of the harness over his head due to the neck size. A logistical approach is required by ensuring his ears are through before pulling the harness over his head. Otherwise, it is a good fit, and keeps him safe.Mitch
This is a really cute toy, and our 12-week-old puppy loved it! The problem is, however, that she was able to detach little hunks of the loofah material from the center of the starfish within just a few sessions. The label warns of this, so we watched and threw away the chunks . . . and ultimately the whole toy before she could swallow anything. Maybe a much younger puppy would do better? I purchased this for my sister in laws Westie. We are having to take her out in the car at the moment and wanted her to be safe and secure on the back seat.I measured the dog before purchase and although the chest area was a perfect size, her head would not go through the neck part, which is fixed. The dog was still able to look through the window when she wanted. I brought two of these a couple of months ago, one dog it works great. My other dog has managed to tie himself in knots around the seatbelt, tried with and without the extension to control his movements and he still ties himself up in knots. Worse he has managed to have the D-ring tear through a seatbelt. He has both slipped out of the harness and managed to undo the seatbelt. I actually bought 4 of theses harnesses and really like the overall design and felt my dogs were safe in the car. However I totally hate the metal buckles as some of them do not buckle very easy. I had to file them down to make them easier to manipulate. And for someone with arthritis putting them on is a struggle, certainly not buckle and go, more like fiddle and fiddle and go. Another thing is if dog turns around everything at the top gets tangled into a big mess. They really should product test what they sell with all kinds of dogs. They are made reasonably well but skimp in the seam fabric which come apart in some areas after even hand washing which then causes fraying of edges. This harness and kurgo enhanced strength harness we’re only car harnesses available in the store. I bought both. Reddy fit our 18# dog better. The kurgo fit like it would rub behind her legs. Reddy has a wider breast plate that looks like it would spread the crash force better. Reddy fit our dog better. What I didn’t like with Reddy was threading the seat belt through the loops. The seat buckle barely slides through the loops both latching in and unlatching. You do this while keeping the seatbelt from sliding tight. Luckily we have a calm patient dog. Kurgo uses a carabiner clip to hook harness and seatbelt together, quicker and easier. Understand that both harnesses confine the dog snugly against the seat. Our 18# dog could not sit up, the seat belt snugs harness close to the clip. She could move enough to change laying positions. We used this harness on a 1200 mile trip and will use for trips to vet. Threading seat belt through the Reddy tight loops makes it unlikely use for quick trips. The kurgo is easier for quick trips and rubbing won’t be an issue.Luabr
Very disappointed with Petco for not standing behind their product for more than 30 days. I purchased on Jan 18th and it broke March 7th. I took it into the store and was rudely told I would have to call customer service where I was offered only a partial refund. Due to their “strict policy” they wouldn’t even replace the product. It was buckled on my dog when the clasp just broke off while still clipped in the other side. This harness has been such a life saver; I wish it was available when our pup first came home! After moving out of the city, we’ve had to drive longer distances than we used to, in addition to our regular vet visits and trips to see family. Just some of the reasons we now use this harness exclusively: -Because of the method in which the harness is secured to the seatbelt, it keeps Sammie from jumping up to the front of the car while moving and prevents him from twisting himself around if he gets anxious. -The 4 points of adjustment allow us to get the perfect fit and takes away any worry that he will wiggle out and get hurt. -The ability to clip his leash on and use as a walking harness make trips in and out of the vet and stores quick since we don’t t have to constantly take it off and put it back on him. -Probably the most important, Sammie tolerates having it on really well. This really become an issue if we need to hop out of the car on a busy road, we need to make a stop for a potty break, or if I’m getting him in and out myself in the dark/late at night. I abdolutely feel in love with this harness (by far the easiest to get onto my puppy). I love is so much that I jought 6 of them in the past 4 months. Why did I need to buy so many one may ask…becauae that is how many the puppy chewed through in that period of time. I ended up switching brands after the 6th one. The look of the harness is great however the material cannot stand up to chewing which is not covered under warranty. I bought one yesterday and this morning I left to get breakfast and when I got back 20 minutes later he had chewed through one of the straps and had taken a chuck out of the nylon canvas chest piece. Rugged ,tough , durable harness . Works like it should . It takes a little time to get a proper adjustment , unless your dog is growing it's a one time thing . As I previously stated I bought two of these harnesses in two different sizes. A small and a medium as I was not sure which would work. The small is a great fit for my 13 lb Shih Tzu. But this is summer and she is shaved down. I am going to use the medium size for winter to go over her sweaters and coats. She is also is not shaved down for colder weather so I tend to buy larger sizes for the colder seasons. Besides the price was great.Marlene D

This is a good product. It is a really long harness so it bunches up in the middle when my dogs sit and when we are walking sometimes. The quality of the material is good and I do not feel like they are going to pull out of the harness. I do have an issue with the sizing chart. I got a large because that is what I normally have to get for my labs and then after the order looked at the chart. It showed that I should have gotten an XL at least. I picked this harness because it looked comfortable and tough, both highly important things when it comes to gear my dog wears. My dog is a husky/border collie mix and walking him with only a collar is unpleasant for both him and me. With this harness I have much better control with him, and he seems happy to wear it. What a fantastic harness! My 90 pound dood is a consummate outdoorspoodle and now he can pack his own water, snacks, and frisbee thanks to the bungee cord feature. The harness is wonderfully customizable. I have a Huge, deep chested giant pal who is wearing the 2-3X size. The straps are incredibly adjustable at the shoulder, neck, and across the girth to fit a wide variety of pup shapes. The material is extremely durable, seems to resist staining (I give it a quick rinse when my mudpuppy has really had fun), and most important, the harness is lightly padded for comfort. My pal literally jumps for joy when he sees it because he knows he's off on an adventure. I also love the bright yellow which pops at night when we are out exploring. The bungee cording is threaded though material that feels like the hook side of velcro. I plan to purchase the Backcountry X Petco Go Bag so we can carry even more fun along on our adventures. If you are like me – your pooch is your kid. You'd do anything to keep her safe. In parts of Europe – it is ILLEGAL to drive with a pet without a seat belt and I think that the USA should have the same laws. Did you know in an accident – that a dog cannot only die (and do) but they can kill the driver or a passenger when it is not wearing a seat belt? It looks like a great dog halter. This is the third halter I ve gotten for my cairn terrier mix. This one looks like he might not be able to escape. Unfortunately, it is way too small for my dog. There is only one size smaller, and I expect it is too big, also. The receipt was illegible, and I have no idea how to send the halter back. I plan to donate it to the animal shelter. I am still looking for a halter he won t escape from.
Wrong size. Trying to exchange it. The sizes are not correct. They fit large.
The harness isn't working for me but I can't send it back. My dog is a male and the back strap rides directly over his, uh, spout. He soaked it pretty good the first time out so we have to keep it. But he didn't like it either – it is pretty heavy and made him overheat. Might work for winter but I have to figure out how to modify the back strap so he can pee free.

I purchased the x-tra-large harness. It was very loose on my dog even though he has the right dimensions for that size. After spending an inordinate amount of time adjusting the straps we had a good fit. However, he very quickly, by wiggling around a bit, loosened the straps back up. Harness came quick and was easy to adjust. I would highly recommend it. Only 4 stars because of a couple minor issues. The first is when at its smallest adjustments, the extra strap hangs loose. Not a big deal but with my puppy, she can then grab it to chew on. The other thing is, the two rings to attach a leash to are too far apart.
