We have an 85lb pittie that has an insatiable appetite for fetch, but isn't super great at the release part. We saw these used by a trainer we follow on social media & they are exactly what we needed! We ordered the 1st pair in Feb 2020 & they work precisely as advertised – the teeth "dent" the rings but don't puncture it. We just ordered a 2nd pair because our pup did end up chewing through one – but that was our fault. As advertised, these are NOT a chew toy and they are fairly easily destroyed if you allow them to be used as such. But somehow, they are still durable enough for a game of tug! Our pup is now OBSESSED with his rings! The pair is perfect as he brings one back & immediately drops it when he sees the 2nd one in your hand. Perfect toy for fetch, jumping & tug!Wanda

Best toy for agility and speed! Great if you want your dog to loose some weight or release some energy quickly. I have bought so many toys…and I have to say that the simplicity of this toy is what makes it great. This is my dog's favorite toy and I love it too! If your dog is very smart more likely these rings are perfect for you. Great for bonding and for learning new tricks like jump! Leave it, bring it, drop it, tag, go get it Like the packing says keep the game short so they keep wantig more! My dog loves it because I make it all about speed. For example, she need to bring one ring to me and as soon as she brings it she has to go catch to other! I use excitment and a fast tone on my voice. Once she brings it back I have another ready so she needs to jump and get it. In another interval she needs to tag and leave it and then catch the other in my other hand. You can make this rings as fun as you want! I only have 2 but I think 3 will be better for more game options. I am thinking to buy another one soon. The teeth marks do stay on the rings but it is not a big deal. Sometimes it seems it gets stuck a little in my dogs teeth but it is for a milisecond! And it doesn't seem to bother her really. I actually think that if the rings would be of a harder material most likely dogs wouldn't like them, but maybe they could improve this a little. I have wash them and they have lasted for a long time. Yes there are marks, but it doesn't take away the purpose of the rings! Hope this review helps you!Jim

great dog toy, checks all the boxes: durable, ring allows for long rolls for dog to chase/ grab while still moving (giving him that paw-eye coordination as opposed to picking up a ball that has stopped moving), easy to use/ throw and it FLOATS!!! we often find ourselves at the beach and it always shocks me at how many dog toys do not float (I understand not everyone lives by a body of water, but its just one of those things that all dogs will end up in, so a toy that doesn't float just isn't thinking ahead). my dog is really good at catching Frisbee's but someone once told me that dogs can hurt their legs by landing weird after jumping for a thrown Frisbee, this puller toy is the perfect substitute, you can throw it so it rolls along the ground and the dog can chase it, giving him the same tracking action as a Frisbee, but without him leaving the ground. the toy is also very durable, my dog destroys everything and this is one of the few toys that he really loves that can actually last a while (he loves this thing so much he would chase it into a burning building), it is so durable that we can play tug with it as well, his favorite game to play (tho I try not to too much, even tho he loves to play tug more then anything, the toy will eventually brake and trying to re-teach a dog to drop something after he's come to expect a game of tug to get it from him can be very difficult). Can't recommend this toy enough, get this and get out there and have some fun with you best pal.Beth

Absolutely terrible tug, cheaply made. My dog has seriously injured himself when playing with this. Elastic is weak and snapped and hit my dogs eye, he is now seriously injured and may potentially lose his vision in one eye. Dangerous and weak example of a flirt pole.arjo6335

I love this product and am very pleased with my purchase. Being telescopic, it's easy to carry around. Seems to be strong and hard-wearing (my GSD and BC are using it regularly and with great gusto) I am also using it with some of my private dog training clients and recommending it to them. It also comes with a spare tuggy end piece but if used correctly i don't think i'll need it for a while but nice to have the spare. Great product, thank you.brunomnop

This is (was) our second monkey ropetugz. Our puppy LOVED this toy, in fact loved it to its final demise. We were convinced it was a great toy so I ordered a replacement. He whimpered with delight when he was given his new friend, long lost. Number 2 however wasn't as sturdy and the rope has started to unravel. I am still trying to work out if I can repair it and he is missing his monkey friend greatly.Denise

A great tug of war toy but also for any dog that likes to chew throughl. My only caveat is that the loops (while good for holding during play), represent a bit of a hazard–especially if your dog is a chewer. I have a 1y/o 70lb Golden Retriever and while he doesn't sit and chew to destroy, he is a puppy and chewing is a part of playing. Having said that, the monkey stayed together but the rope was short lived. As soon as your dog gets a tear or fray in the rope, they learn they can pull it apart. My dog did not eat it, as he just disentangled it, but for others, this could potentially cause a stomach ache or blockage if eaten.kaitlyn.c

I definitely would recommend a much longer ground stack. I purchased the medium size pole. Although the pole certainly is strong enough, the ground stake wasnt long enough to keep it in the ground. I purchased the medium for my Boston terrier. First time playing with, he pulled the stake out of the ground.gswts-36

My dog really enjoyed this toy. She was able to flip over in about 20 minutes of playing with it so she chewed it on the flat side so it doesn't slide as well but she's still playing with it.JMG701

We got this toy for our dog yesterday. Within 20 minutes the base had become unglued from the top, and the squeaker failed. Our dog loved it until it broke.Thewarring

Does not work well for larger dogs. Tore one of the legs off the first few hours she played with the toy. Not sure if the packaging stated dog size requirements.Dusty

My Carmine loves his Bumi. This makes number two for him. He had a horseshoe which was his favorite thing and these Bumi are a great replacement. We loves to bring it to me for a fling across the yard or a good game of tug tug. Some times he just wobbles it around by the center point like he’s really doing something. Well made. The opportunity presented itself for me to try out the Bumi dog toy, produced by West Paw. This particular toy is one of West Paw's newest dog toys. Bumi, makes an exceptional toy for tug of war. It is made of Zogoflex. Zogoflex is a strong, malleable material that is suppose to withstand unfavorable conditions. Those conditions being my dog's sharp teeth, his powerful grip, and his action in thrashing it all over the yard as he is playing. Well, I went outside and introduced him to the Bumi. He wasn't excited like I thought he would be. At first, that was disappointing. He would not play tug of war with me. Instead, he liked running and fetching the Bumi back to me. The Bumi is a light weight, "S" shaped, bouncy toy that is easy to throw for fetching. It also travels a bit further than most toys due to these traits. It is non-toxic, BPA and Phthalates free ( Phthalates is a chemical used to soften PVC plastics). These substances can cause damage to the kidneys, liver, lungs, and testes according to animal research. Not all dog toys are safe and I do not want to risk my dog's health for anything. The Bumi is made to be long lasting and safe for dogs to chew on. I like that he will fetch the toy because it requires him to get up and move. Exercise will be good for him and he is learning a few commands. I gave him a reward and that really motivated him to continue fetching. It looks like my dog will enjoy chewing on this toy for the most part. So far, it has held up well.When he puts his mouth on it, he grips it in the middle section, where it has a ball like shape. I suppose it's because this is the first time he has had a toy like this. Usually, he retrieves balls and other round toys so this toy is fun and easier for him to grip. This toy is made in the USA and it was made to last a long time. The chewing action is good for his gums and teeth. The Bumi floats in water and can be easily washed or placed in the dishwasher. Lastly, I was impressed with the fact that if the Bumi comes apart it can be returned to West Paw company for a new one. The West Paw Company made this toy so it can be recycled if returned. It's a great toy for my dog and with it being recyclable, it is good for us and our environment. I don't think a dog owner could go wrong in purchasing this new innovative toy by West Paw.DD

Over the past 17 years, we've had 3 dogs and have bought hundreds of toys over those years. None of our dogs were very rough with their toys, so we've had 3 baskets full of gently used dog toys. All 3 dogs have since passed away, the last one in June of 2020. So, in September of 2020 we got a mini Goldendoodle puppy. Since we still had the 3 baskets full of toys that were in good condition from our other dogs, our new puppy, "Bowie" has had tons of toys to play with. The big difference is that Bowie is NOT gentle with his toys!! He is a power chewer who not only tears toys apart, he will actually consume the stuffing!! I've had to take every toy away from him after a day or two due to his weird appetite! I NEVER leave him alone with a toy. But there is one toy from that bunch that he absolutely loves and is still in excellent condition. So, thankfully, I was able to find the name of the company stamped into this toy, and I immediately searched the internet for the company West Paw (praying that it was still around). I was ecstatic to find their website, and there I saw his beloved toy – the "Bumi"!!! I was also surprised to see it listed as a toy for gentle chewers! I saw that almost all the reviewers mentioned that their dogs were more like Bowie – power chewers. The other thing about the Bumi is that it makes Bowie do the Zoomies all around the house whenever he plays with it. It makes him crazy! So, the added benefit is the exercise he gets when he plays with it, and there is still not a single bite mark on it! I wanted to really love this toy. It's actually the second time I bought it…but only out of desperation because it lasted longer than all the other toys my dog has destroyed. I don't have a big dog but he's a determined chewer and can destroy ANYTHING but a Kong. He's a 1 yr old lab/maybe husky/maybe retriever/viszla mix (we think). He LOVED LOVED LOVED this toy but chewed the rope off straight out of the gate. He used that weakness to find a spot to tear in the fabric and reveal the rubber and it was over from there. To be fair if you're using this the right way (for fetch instead of it ending up as a chew toy) it will likely last much, much longer. It's nice and light and throws well and was well-liked by my pup.G.i.t.P.

A friend of ours got out dog just the bumper part of this combo and it has been huge it. It received serious work every day at the beach, and as you can see from my photos even had some group play with several other big dogs. Seemed reasonably durable. It was the favored water toy this trip and we will be getting another if and when this on expires.TN Doodle Dad

I have a German shepherd who loves the pool. We live in a desert, so it's a great way to keep him active in the summer. Previously, I would use the orange Chuckit! balls for pool play because they are very durable and they're his absolute favorite, but he would have to bob a lot to grasp them which left him snorting up a lot of chlorine water. I found this product and felt it would be much easier for him to snag from the water. After two hours of play it held up pretty well. But I am worried it won't last long. He loved it, and had a blast fetching it over and over but he clamps down pretty hard when grabbing it. With his large teeth and strong bite, it made a lot of popping sounds as he would swim it back to the steps and readjust his hold on it. He punctured it quite a bit, but it hasn't fallen apart yet. Some of the stitching is coming undone on the blue ends and they are very weak. It may last longer if you can sew. When he gets it out of the water he does squeeze it as if trying to squeak it, but he's good at stopping when I tell him to. It probably wouldn't last an hour if I let him chew it and he's not even one to destroy toys. There's only been a few toys that have broken from him playing and it's almost always because his teeth puncture it and the stuffing starts falling out. Once this happens our golden retriever will take it and rip it to pieces. This one he is not allowed to have without supervision and only in the pool because it definitely won't last. Our golden actually hates the water, so we don't have to worry about her tearing it up. If you have a dog with a strong bite, or one that loves to chew, I'm not confident this will hold up very well. But I still really like it and it makes a great water toy. It's bright, and floats well. It was easy for my shepherd to grab onto without losing it. He loved it and wasn't very happy I took it from him when we headed back inside. If this one falls apart too soon, I may have to find a more durable pool toy. My camera was dead, but I managed to get some pictures from my phone. I included some photos after coming back inside showing the punctures and the broken stitching on one end after 2 hours of play and limited chewing. The damage was mostly from him just grabbing it from the water as I did not let him chew it outside the water for very long. Update 5/22 – added some photos after about 6 more hours of use. It fell apart around the tag and the inside ended up slipping right out. My shepherd ended up still fetching just the inside. I'm sad that it fell apart so quickly and will have to find something that won't unravel with such a short time of play.F.N.

My labernese loves this toy but plucked the ball apart in a few minutes and is working on dismantling the chain part. It's pricey to just be destroyed by a power chewer.Angela B.

Our Husky is a major fan of toys. Unfortunately, she's drawn to squeaker toys but destroys them almost immediately. I've been very impressed with this Hartz Squekerz, as it's been 5 days since we received it, and it has 3 of the 4 squeakers still intact – a record for our Husky!! She enjoys retreiving it from the toybox when I clean up the floor – of course, a game for her. When this toy arrived my littlest dog stole it. We have 2 dogs and watching one for my daughter and all grab it now. Anything with a squeaker is usually Peanuts {ShihTzu} but this toy has 4 squeakers. Usually my dogs will Remove the Squeakers real fast but this toy still survives.. I will be buying another of these as soon as I get to a store carrying them. I highly Recommend this toyfairbanks

I have a medium sized dog that can destroy a stuffie as well as any big time chewer! This toy lasted longer than most. She went for the squeakers first and was able to remove them one at a time, which was expected. But after the squeakers were gone, the toy and its stuffing lasted quite some time.missa4845
