Pet Safe Little Dog Training Collar For Sale (2024 Update)

I purchased this product on my brother's recommendation. I have 10 dogs and 14 guineas and only one of the dogs would kill our fowl. My brother had used collars on his dogs with problem behavior and they are now great dogs. I was a little hesitant to use it because I'm not a electric stimulus collar user. It worked great. I don't have to use the stimulus button anymore, just use the tone and she knows she's too close to the guineas. It's not harsh–u determine the settings–and it's well made.guinealady

I bought this collar because we have 3 small dogs with varying issues mostly barking that one starts and it triggers the other two and drives us crazy lol. I started with one dog it took a day and maybe 4 corrections and practically instant results. Second dog had the worst issues especially maniacal barking on walks at other dogs and people. It was almost instantaneous with him and it's abit of a shock(no pun intended) how fast it worked to help. The price seemed abit much but after using it,it was money well spent to bring some much needed tranquility to our home and everyone's a lot happier. I highly recommend this productChris P

Was hesitant to get this b/c I wasn't sure it was humane. After talking to my vet, I felt comfortable making the purchase. IMMEDIATELY, my wonderful, yet poorly socialized Mini Schnauzer changed his ways. It only took a few zaps, and now he responds to tone only. I would NOT walk him b/c he would go spastic when we met other people and/or dogs — now, although he is still interested in them, I can hit the tone and he just keeps walking. Also, his barking in the backyard has improved tremendously. I send him out, and if he starts barking excessively, I hit the tone button and it stops. I now have no fear about taking him out in "public." Some worry that it makes them more aggressive, etc., but I will tell you he is still the same playful, lovable dog. It truly saved us from having animal control show up on our doorstep!! You will wince at the price, but after one day you will realize it was a bargain — best money you ever spent.Xandi

This product saved a pound pooch. We adopted a 2 year old schnoodle (schnauzer/poodle) from a shelter. He is smart, learns tricks and basic commands quickly (with treats), but he will ignore you when he doesn't feel like obeying. His biggest issue was diving out the door any time it was opened, and when he got outside, he would run off and not return until he was finished exploring (even when called). It only took a few "stimulations" to teach him to come back when called. It has also been useful in training our "cat-dog" to stay off tables. The unit has 15 intensity settings, and we normally only have to set it on 2 or 3 (when dealing with the outside run off problem, we had to turn it up to 7 one time.) Contrary to the product directions, we use the tone feature as a warning prior to "stimulation" as we also have an electronic fence for him that uses a tone to warn him to stay in the boundaries. Therefore, trying to use the tone on the training collar as positive reinforcement would have confused him. After only 2 weeks, 99% of the time, all we have to do anytime he is disobeying in anyway is give the warning tone. He has also learned not to wander too far from me when he is off the leash. He weighs 14 lbs and has a neck circumference of 10 inches. The collar fit fine after adjusting it and cutting off the excess. The receiver is also one of the smallest of all the brands/models we looked at. Our dog has also tested the waterproof feature, as he took a dive in a swamp yesterday. So far, the unit is still functioning. The unit does have to be charged daily, even with limited use.CritterLuvR2

Let me prequalify this by saying that I am a fan of PetSafe Products. The Stay and Play Wireless fence and the Large Dog Citronella Anti-Bark Collars have worked flawlessly for my medium size indoor/outdoor pup. I also have a 1.5 year old Yorkie, and the PetSafe Elite Little Dog Spray Bark Control has design and operational flaws that I can't overlook: 1. The unit's sensor is not a typical rear sensor, and it doesn't pick-up normal barking unless it is high intensity (this is WHEN it works). 2. The unit does not last for the full amount of sprays. 3. The unit has to be at a high level of tightness to the point of almost choking the dog to remain in place in order to be correctly positioned to both pick-up the barking and deliver the spray. 4. The unit does not have an ON/OFF switch other than turning the battery, and then you have to manipulate even that when wanting to reset the bark counter. The bark counter should be reset in the electronics when the battery is removed if that's the case and reflect this in the refill directions for the spray. At the end of the day, I have use spray collars for my outdoor dog at my home for years, so I am familiar with the quirks. I have remained faithful to PetSafe, and they never let me down. The Elite Little Dog Spray collar is not up to their usually high standards. I have bought one, exchanged one, and bought another to give this product a fair chance, and I am heading to Petco this morning to return the last one as a disappointed customer. I have moved to an apartment from a home in the process of building a new house, so it is imperative that I be able to reinforce that excess barking is not acceptable. I suppose it will have to be with another product.PharmDrew

I bought two of these and neither of them worked. The first one worked for about a week of occasional use. Then it started leaking a steady, tiny hiss of spray from the intake hole. Months later, on a road trip w/now 2 small dogs I picked up 2 of the older, silver models that use the 6 volt batteries. They still work great (2 years later, intermittent use for overnights away from home or having exciting visitors that the dogs celebrate vocally, Enthusiastically, unceasingly. Also for occasional backyard relaxing if the neighbor kids get the dogs too excited.) I shared one with my sister for her dog on a hotel overnight and it was a revelation to her. I tried to buy her one but can only find the new “elites” with that proprietary battery so I caved, hoping the leaky one I had was a fluke. I got a few inconsistent sprays out of it, many barks without spray, then it just quit completely. I tried a new battery, refilled the spray and The lights did their thing correctly when I followed the steps to turn it on. Then I tested it by loudly barking right up against The back of it, tapping the back of it, holding it against my own throat and trying different tones of loud singing and yelling… nothing. I’ve wasted too much $ on the bad new design ones that don’t work. I really wish I could get another old silver model one to give my 4 legged niece. Obviously the requirement of a $15 proprietary battery makes this PetSafe’s preferred model to make, regardless of it’s consistent failure to function. Disappointing.JenMN

I one hundred percent recommend this product. I have used E collars in the past but my dogs respond so much better and I get positive reinforcement with ultrasonic tone. It's not painful to my dogs but gets immediate response on recall or stopping negative behavior and it has a reward tone for doing good. Great product. I bought this product for my ten month old Labradoodle. It's worked a treat for discouraging bad behaviour, but also rewards good behaviour. It stopped my dog barking within days. I'm also using it to help with training.Kathleen

First the website should indicate a 9V battery is required to operate the remote. Nor does it indicate it on the packaging. Fortunately I had on on hand after it was apparent one was needed. Second: The sound is wonderful for her ears and not mine. She perks up each time she hears the noise. I reward her with a small treat. It wasn't until we went for our walk the next day that I was able to try out the "N" part of the remote. I use it together with the words (not new to her) "leave it." It appears to work just find when on a busy road and we are on a sidewalk. However, we live in a condominium atmosphere and golf carts, Fed Ex and UPS trucks are about and close to a walker where there are no sidewalks. For the record, she is a Dingo, rescued street dog for 2 1/2 years from Puerto Rico. I am her very first owner. She has come along way however when her mind is set on the nasty golf cart, etc. the remote will not work. Period. She tunes it out and is completely focused on the "nasty." Overall I would recommend the remote. Its effectiveness will depend on the mindset of the dog to begin with and of course utmost patience with the owner/handler with teaching.Duchess

Is this item a replacement for the RFA-577 model? The button on the training collar wore out and will not turn on the module anymore. I have gotten a solid two years out of the collar and I am very pleased with the results of responsible training for my dog. *Dominoe is a very well behaved dog and I am constantly getting compliments on his behavior. The remote is still in great shape so I'm in search of just the collar module. Thanks for any help and insight. Did not work at all for my 90lb lab. The vibration is sooo mild, even on the highest level that it had no effect at all, beeping either, and it doesn't take much at all to scare my dog. Big let down.mruede

I had bought this a week ago in store. I'm so happy with the progress my dog has already made using this. He used to bolt out the gate but now hes always right by my side, checking in on me and making sure I'm keeping up with him. I've finally been able to loose leash walk him without having to worry about him running off. This has help so much in such a short time! I knew about this product for several weeks, but I delayed in getting it. I thought I'd give the puppy a chance with regular training methods (treats, praise, verbal corrections) before I started futzing with a special collar and have to buy it in two sizes. That was really stupid. I wish I would have bought it sooner and spent the money on the two sizes. I got this one in a size Medium and it fits perfectly with just an easy adjustment of the buckle. Our little man is a Labradoodle, now at about 32 lbs and expected to reach a 60-ish weight probably. He is VERY high energy, very strong and very smart, but our little darling is no longer little and I have been finding myself struggling with his 32 lb self pulling on the walks. I cannot imagine when he is full grown, so I decided finally to nip this in the bud and I ordered the gentle leader. It arrived today and I was amazed at how he has NO power to pull AT ALL. I even noticed that in many situations like when he would normally lunge at something, he didn't, maybe that is just from the novelty and will eventually wear off, but for today, it was as if he had a total attitude adjustment. It was like magic. He is none too pleased about the new situation, for sure, but I am pleased as punch. Will take a few days of working with him to get used to it so he stops trying to pull it down with his paws, but even when he was trying he couldn't get it off successfully unless I let off on the tension to the leash altogether which I was able to correct for easily enough. I have an 18 month old standard poodle. I’ve had her since 9 weeks old. She’s full of energy and gets super excited. I’ve trained her well on a typical lead but I was having issues controlling her when she would get excited by people and animals. I have arthritis in my hands and wrists, I have shoulder problems as well. Every time I walked her I’d be in so much pain trying to pull her back. A service dog trainer suggested the gentle leader to me and it’s totally changed I no longer have the shoulder and back pain from pulling her back. She’s really a perfect angel now with her I bought four of them in different colors because they are so amazing. Please get one for your dog even if you don’t think you need it. I'll first start by saying I never do reviews. However I was at my wits end with our nine month old chiweenie. I thought my husband was going to kill me and the dog…and I was praying my neighbors did not have guns because this little 8 pound cutie barked like a 100 lb squealing pig at anything and everything! Previous to this device I tried the citronella collar and the ultrasonic remote. Neither phased her. I will say on day one I thought this thing was a piece of junk. I called pet safe and learned that the collar needs to be tightly fitted on the dogs neck or it will not work. After adjusting the collar and I was still on the phone with the representative my Daisy girl went outside and I witnessed it working immediately. We still have some light barking which I imagine occurs before the strengthened static but it is completely manageable. I will say after reading the reviews we have lucked out with the battery… It has been in use with an aggressive Barker for a month and still has not needed to be replaced. Our only downside is that the collar is bulky… I take it off when she comes inside. If I do forget to put it on when she goes outside she will bark up a storm again! I bought two Basic Static Bark collars to help alleviate my puggle's and beagle's separation anxiety barking when we are not at home. The collars are fitted properly and in accordance with instructions and the batteries are working, yet BOTH dogs continue to bark. The biggest problem is that both collars tend to move to one side of the dogs' necks, so the dogs are probably not receiving the static correction. The directions state to "REPOSITION THE COLLAR ON THE PET'S NECK EVERY 1 TO 2 HOURS.." Obviously, if we are not home, this is impossible to do. I wasted almost $100 on collars that do not work on either dog. Petsafe customer service recommended that I should purchase the more expensive Deluxe Petsafe Collar. No thanks. I bought this about a week ago after I received a complaint from a neighbor and was given a warning from our HOA for disturbance. We had just moved in about a month ago and didnt want to make enemies. My dog barks at everything. From shadows, birds to airplanes. I decided to give this a try. I was skeptical and thought for sure this wouldn't work. I put it on my dog and let him loose in the backyard. Sure enough he barked once and to my surprise, stopped! I noticed there were people walking their dogs (we lived right next to the dog trail) and sure enough my dog darts out to the back yard and again barked once, then stopped. I was shocked! I wanted to see if it was really working so I took it off and my dog ran out there and started his annoying bark. I called him in and out the collar back on and again ran out but this time he did not bark. I must have done this about 3-4 times and the results were the same. Here we are 1 week from the day I bought it and my dog's behavior has completely changed. Everytime I let him out to potty, I'll put his collar on and no unnecessary barking from him. I got this bark collar for my two dogs and it worked wonderfully for a few months. They completely stopped barking! But then, the battery wouldn't stay charged. I was told that I might be doing something wrong that ruined the battery. Customer Service was uber helpful (5 stars for them!) and they sent me a new collar for free. I ended up going through five collars in just a few months with the same problem each time. The rechargeable battery is the only problem with this product, but it is a huge problem. When I finally asked Customer Service if they had any spray collars with a different type of battery, they directed me to the Elite Spray Bark Collar. When I got the collar they only had the one for little dogs, but it still works amazingly for my big dogs! It does all the same things as the rechargeable one except that it uses non-rechargeable batteries. These batteries last way longer than the rechargeable one though so it's a win-win! I highly suggest looking at the Elite Spray Bark Collars!!!NIKKI 😉

Supposed to have 35-45 sprays but it sure didn’t. We put the collar on him and angled the camera so we could watch him and try to train him to stop. He barked and it sprayed. He continued to bark. It continued to spray. It shut off like it’s supposed to. We went in and the whole place smelled like citronella. We walked back out after trying to calm him. He barked and it sprayed. He kept barking and then it stopped spraying and started flashing that it was out. The. Citronella cartridge only had maybe 5-8 sprays. We had to leave for a few hours that afternoon and we put the unscented cartridge in. After being gone for only an hour or two it was empty as well. We watched video of him and he continued to bark through the sprays. It had no effect. However, it also only had maybe 10ish sprays in it total. The cartridges aren’t worth the money as they don’t have what they are supposed to have in them. The collar was not worth the money as the spray didn’t even phase our dog. Maybe it works for others but it didn’t do anything for us apart from leave a citronella smell in the air for a few minutes.MarkD504

For starters I am not a person who usually leaves reviews but this product deserves it! I bought two of these collars for my two of my noisier dogs. I have tried everything to control their barking – trying to distract them with treats, spraying them with water to correct the behaviour, using high frequency clicker and using a training collar that I would beep if they barked as a warning and then it would vibrate if they barked again. None of these worked so I gave up for a bit, until I saw this collar come up as I was researching new collars to try – I decided to give it a shot since it was different than the methods I have previously tried. My god, it is incredible! I put the collar on my noisiest dog, a terrier, (his barking is out of control) and he barked once and it sprayed him and he has not barked since – I went from having him bark at every little sound he heard outdoors to peace and quiet. I love this product and I highly recommend it! P.S. It also works for my other dog, my terrier just gets her hyped up with his barking but now they are my quiet little hellhounds 🙂lbll12

Purchased this collar from Chow Down pet supplies. It had absolutely zero effect on my dog. He completely ignored whatever sound was coming from the device. I threw this away and got a much pricier static correction collar that has customizable settings. No comparison, much more effective… don't waste your money on cheap pet safe products.D Cooper

When I first got my puppy at 6 months old he would constantly bark. I was told at the store this is not a very good bark training collar, but if I wanted something inexpensive to try it and if it didn’t work I could return it. I was then hesitate that it didn’t work, but still tried it and loved it! Every time he barked you could see the light flash on it. 1 downfall is the collar can be easily rotated around the neck no matter how tight you have it if the scratches at it. It needs to be kept in the front of the dogs neck, and as high up the neck as possible. So you have to keep adjusting it, but I also found it shocks them if they are doing something they aren’t supposed to, and when you yell loudly at them it shocks them as well. So it serves a multipurpose of bark control, and obedience. I only had to use it on my dog for less than a week, and he stopped the constant barking, chewing, and was 100% more obedient! I’d recommend it to anyone who doesn’t want to spend a crazy amount of money on training collars, or bark collars! Worked great!Lauj

my dog can’t even shake his head without getting a correction. Almost any sound cause him to get a correction so it is scary and confusing for him. It would be nice if there was a sensitivy adjustment but the collar as designed is not helpful. The average bark of a dog compared to the sounds that are setting this off are not the same and all will cause the dog anxiety due to the false stimulations.Heather52

Loved this remote control trainer! We have been using an older model and this one feels so high tech!! My favorite thing about it is the option to have 2 dogs on the same controller! My second favorite thing is that it is rechargeable! No more dead collars, remotes or wasting $$ on batteries! Dogs were very responsive to it-one just needs to hear the sound, while the other gets a little more distracted and needs something more! 3 different settings give a nice variety to choose from! An extra “feature” that I wouldn’t have thought of is the shape/size of the controller-it was really designed with the user in mind! It is a little high tech at first, but very easy to learn!Susie

I got this product to replace an older model that I have had for years for a yellow lab. He is generally well behaved, it is just times he gets a little too excited and forgets to listen. First off the fact that this has static and vibration built into one is awesome. I feel much better using the vibration only and my dog responds well to it. I like know the static feature is there for more of a back up. The unit was very easy to set up and understand. The daily use is very simple, although I would like the buttons to be more pronounced, as I usually have the controller in my pocket. Range has not be an issue at all, although I am generally close by so I can’t see that ever being an issues. The only “cons” I have found so far are the strap for the collar seems a little flimsy and the “lanyard” for the controller could be longer. Over all, I would absolutely recommend this product. As I said, I am using it for a yellow lab (he is 83 lbs.) and have zero issues!Sprout004

I've been loving getting to know and use this training collar. I have a one year old Golden Retriever who listens fairly well but occasionally loses focus and tends to bolt (to birds, squirrels, great smells, etc.) and I needed something to snap his attention back to me. This collar so far has been excellent for that. I LOVE how many settings it has. So far, I've been lucky enough to only have to use the tone – it's just enough to snap him out of his focus (or lack there of 😉 ) and listen to me. I enjoy that it allows for vibration before static as well. The collar itself is very adjustable. I love that it's waterproof. 600 yards is great too, we have several acres and it gives me peace of mind that even if my boy makes it further than usual, I can still reach him. My only personal downside is the remote buttons. They're fairly hard to press with my arthritic hands. I understand they shouldn't be too easy so as to not accidentally be depressed when not meaning to. Not a deal breaker at all – again, just my own downside. I really like that I can charge the remote and collar at the same time with the charger. So far the charge has lasted longer than expected too. All in all, a great tool for your training toolbox!seajay

The collar has some pretty big (1") sensor probes that look not so comfortable on the neck, probably necessary for the deterrent. The on/off is pretty sensitive to get it on, you need a dime or something to turn on/off which is good so when the dog wears it the normal movements won't accidentally turn it off. That being said, it is necessary to move it around to the exact position and confirm green light that it is on. You can't just turn it to the word ON, it may need to be ever so slightly adjusted a fraction one way or the other to make sure it is on. Our particular experience seemed to work well on our dog, it only took a couple of times of it vibrating to startle our dog and get her to realize that it was because she barked. It didn't seem to vibrate on growling only barking and we had it pretty tight and her hair is short. It would not be something you would want to leave on your dog forever because I am sure the probes in the neck are not so comfortable for the dog. Overall my dog has reduced her barking about 90% even without the collar on. If she has a particular barking episode on our lanai we put the collar back on for a while and she figures it out. She does seem pretty sad with it on but she is learning quickly and hopefully it won't be for long. The vibration doesn't seem to hurt her, just startle her and that does the job. I think the results could really vary from dog to dog and maybe the breed tendencies play into it. For the investment and result WE got it was well worth it to have less barking here in Hawaii and that peace for us and our neighbors.SDaymon

I tried the bird house bark control device with disastrous results (see my review). I needed something, because my outside, extremely nervous, submissive dog barks incessantly. A harsh word, and she reacts as if she's been struck, which she never is. She flinched with sudden moves. This led me to be extremely cautious when seeking a bark control collar. I discussed it with my vet, and we decided that due to her personality, a vibration collar would probably be the best choice. It has been fantastic! She instantly associated the vibration with her bark. She hardly ever barks now, even when her brother does. The best part? No bad side effects! She's not even scared of the collar! I remove it at night when I lock them in their air conditioned garage, and in the morning when I put it on she reacts as if I'm putting on any old collar. I couldn't be happier, and I'm sure my neighbors couldn't be either (even though, bless their polite hearts, they've never complained)!Laine H

Bought one for a rescued bully that had severe old barking due to living on a 3 foot chain…he used to bark nonstop because thats all he knew.. this taught him to calm down in just a couple weeks. He never barked nonstop again. It did scare him the first couple time though. It was a lifesaver for all of us. He was so much more calm. I have an adopted fur-baby that had a lot of control and behavior issues. Training, the usual way was just not working. I tried this and, within one day, the disruptive behavior (running and tearing up things in the house, jumping from one piece of furniture to another, non-stop barking) all stopped. He began with sitting, immediately after only two "vibrations" of the collar. By the end of the week, all I had to do was take out the remote control, say the words of sit, stay, no and wait, and he did so. Now, I don't have to use the remote at all but just say the words. I will tell you that, under no circumstances would I recommend the "shock" feature. Because it is easily changed on this model, by accident, I found out, the hard way just how much it hurts the animal. If you click MODE, by accident, from it being on vibrate, it switches over to Shock. BE VERY CAREFUL when you are about to use the Y button, for sound or vibration as, if it's on shock–and this was the very low setting–the dog whelps loudly and jumps, shakes, etc. I would not recommend it for any animal lover as, I don't even want to know what it feels like. Because the vibration is strong, even on low settings, and the other setting of "beep" is a high frequency sound, I found them the most effective. Thebeep sound is for Guiness (my new family member) to come–I use the vibration for correction, when needed. Guiness was the most difficult dog that I have worked with and I have behavioral training for dogs, which I have used for all of my pets. If this worked on him, it will work on most dogs that have behavioral issues. I would recommend it for the vibration and sound settings–and hope to get one that doesn't have the shock setting as, I feel that is just inhumane to use on a dog (my opinion after seeing how he reacted, on just a low setting). PLEASE USE CAREFULLY until you are used to the remote. That is my only advice when purchasing this for training.kelly4jesus

I am, so far, very happy with the design of the collar and remote handset. I especially like that you can do either vibrate OR static corrections with this set, AND can adjust the level of stimulation, immediately, for each. My only complaint is that the slide on clip is NOT useful. It does not grab either a collar, belt, or pocket, to any real degree. It slips off easily and drops to the ground, to be either lost or damaged. It would be better to design a stronger spring clip or clamp that is stronger. Because it continues to fall from where it is clipped, I am forced to hold it in my hand continually. Giving the dog a visual cue that I have control handy. It is more useful for the dog no not be able to connect such an association. Putting it in my pocket results in a possible inadvertent correction to the dog unnecessarily. Although I like many aspects of this product, and being a professional dog trainer, it would be nice to be able to recommend an affordable, good quality product. My dog used to jump on anyone that came over and she was hard headed about listening. Been using for about a month now and have only shocked her once (on level 2) and now she listen with or with out wearing collar. We still put it on her every day and especially if company is coming over, but she knows when she hears the beep she's gone to far in pushing her luck. Most of time beep gets back in line and if not vibrate does. Can't beleave we waited so long to get one. Now friends and family can come over again and we don't worry about her jumping up on our guest particularly little kids. We put it on her in the morning and take it off before bed time and turn collar off at night and battery will last almost 2 weeks on collar before charging (wonted to see how long battery would last between charges) , Generally now we charge it once a week over night and haven't had it die yet while she's been wearing it. Can't say how water proof it is at this point haven't allowed her in the water with it yet. Only complaint is as others have stated it's easy to change channels on transmitter if your not paying attention. But have gotten used to looking at transmitter before pushing button. Besides If your going from Beep to vibrate your gonna wanna see what you have it set to before you use transmitter again, so I don't find it that big of a deal.jnmpatterson4

Worked great kept my chihuahua in the yard after only a few days of training. the sad part is we had him finally trained to stay in the yard wo a lead and a neighbors pit (one of 4) dug under their fence and attacked him & me. Although he survived The initial attack (and the shock collar survived as well as it was bitten off & scratched but still works) my dog died a week later from complications before surgery. Now i wish Id let him run out of the yard, hed obviously have been safer. Still a great item worked great and it wasnt the collars fault. Id recommend this item to someone even w an older dog. This works great on my Pomeranian. I needed something to keep him from running into the road, onto the school bus with my kids, or into the neighbors yards. I don't even have to use the shock setting, the vibrate setting on 80-100 works wonders. He now comes when I call him without me having to use it. The only negative thing about this collar is that you have to pair it every time you recharge it, and one time I forgot. Definitely worth the money.Winter

This is an effective tool to train your dog with options to not have to shock the dog unnecessarily. The collar has a good range as my dog has come running back from 4 houses down on the first day when we used it the first time. It has a beep warning that has been very effective in the training process. As soon as my dog hears that beep it stops and sits. It also has a vibration that I use instead of the shock that is very effective. It has an intensity level that can be set. My dog is small and this product has changed his future as I know he would have eventually gotten hit by a car because he could get through small spaces in the gate.chris-dgfi3nhbs

After a year of use, with supervision, I can now take my dogs (Basenji & G.Shep) outside on our 3 acres without the collars because they have now learned the boundaries. My favorite feature of these collars is the nightlight and the beep function. The nightlight is perfect for going out at night and keeping my eyes on where each dog is located. The beep function is fantastic, my dogs have learned the beep means to turn around and come back. During training I used the shock function (level 8 & I did test the level of intensity on my own leg) only a handful of times when absolutely necessary and it's never used now. Both dogs now respond to the beep and if they're chasing a deer they'll stop to the vibrate function. The two CONS I have with these collars are the rubber covers for the progs come off so easily when the dogs are wrestling and get lost constantly. The other con is that I've had the collars close to a year now and the rechargeable batteries within the device are dying. The collars are on charge constantly now so that they are charged up for when they are needed. The collar dies within about 8 hours before it needs a charge even if it's turned off. Whereas when I first got them the charge lasted about a week. This is after treating them correctly, turning off when not in use and only charging when needed.Elizabeth R.

When my dogs are out of the yard, I just hit the sound button and they know they have went to far and to get back. They come usually immediately. My least favorite part is the product does not seem to last very long.. in the two to three years I’ve used this, I have had to get a few replaced and all with different problems. I recently bought a brand new set of two, and I am very happy. I just have a problem with one of them flashing the green light constantly while the device is on and the battery life on that specific collar does not last. Overall still my favorite collar, although I haven‘t used anything else!Sarah

I have been using these collars for a few weeks now on my 75 lbs pitbull and my 20 lb chihuahua/sheltie mix and they have been awesome. I have only used the beep and vibration and have made a world of difference in my house. my pitbull would jump and paw at us for attention which was hurting us due to his size. the beep stops the behaviors immediately and rarely have had to vibrate him. my pit also was being extremely possesive of food and starting fights at meal times. the beep makes him.stop instantly and he sits down. my chihuahua mix has a problem with getting on the table and stealing food and also barking non stop. he isnt as affected by the beep as my pitbull so I tend to have to use vibrate more often with him but he is slowly getting on the table less and less. I dont know why I waited so long to try these but I guess it's because I was one of those people who said they would never use a shock collar. I'm so glad I tried these collars before making any drastic decisions due to behavioral issues. the only downside/complaint I have is the charger comes with 2 ports so you can only charge one collar and the remote at the same time. if they are being sold in a 2 pack there should be suffice chargers to charge all 3 at the same time which is why I only gave 4 stars. the collars also tend to need to be resynced but it's an easy process to do.overall I'm very happy with the collarMandy

This collar works great! We have a 135 pound Saint Bernard that likes to run into our pasture with the cows. It definitely has enough kick to get her attention and the collar has plenty of room. Love the beep and vibrate mode (all we use now) and the range is great. Even with her longer hair, it still works effectively.Jason

All of the advertised capabilities work well , the directions for set up and use are easy to follow ,the collar comes with a testing block which nice , (I dont the shock function) the reason I rated it four 1/2 stars is the actual collar piece is made of plastic . ( it does the job) , I purchased a thin leather collar and it works great. Other than that the device is well worth the price.john

We've been using this bark collar on our German Shepherd and it's working! He barks at everyone out the front window or while on car rides and his bark is very loud. I've tried other collars in the past that give off a beeping noise and can be controlled by a remote control, but that beeping sound scares my mini poodle too much so we had to stop using it. I was excited to try this collar knowing it releases a different type of sound. So far it distracts the GSD and works to deter him from barking. Used this item with two dogs, both strays. One vets says was probably born in wild. Both been with us about 2 years now but both run free whenever they can. Used collars without the probes fitted. worked one morning with them, Tone not bad but vibrant works a treat. Now tone works well. Both dogs now stay within bounds. When my back is turned they get way but I can now get them back with tone only. Had it now just short of a week. Should have got it years ago.HappyTony

This collar is a game changer when it comes to training your dog! We have a lab that loves to chew on everything and dig in the yard. After a few days with this collar, we can definitely see the difference. The collar comes with great instructions and is very easy to use. I love that it is rechargeable and uses easy to replace cartridges for the spray. Its also effective when she wanders into the neighbor's yard. Purchased this after we could not get our dog from barking at our next door neighbor. Its been about a week and the barking has stopped. I tried the tone and vibration at first and neither had any effect on him. Next i tried the unscented spray. Weve only had to use it a few times and the barking has stopped. I charged the collar and remote when I first got it and havent needed to charge it since. My only complaint is that i wish the buttons on the handheld remote were raised more or that they were colored.wenmar717
