I was skeptical on this at first and was worried that my dog might pull and break the clasp, but I really wanted something that was more adjustable than a typical buckle collar can provide. Our pup is still growing and sometimes a whole hole move is too much! Turns out this is very well made. The buckle is metal and clips together and stays together very well. It's not hard to undo when you need to but it is not going to come undone accidentally. Got this for my rotti pup in the wide version and we get so many compliments on it. My last rotti used buckle down as well. The collars last about a year/year and a 1/2 and then the plastic thread peice doesn't hold well to the worn fabric (a very slow slip) but if you don't mind adjusting it it should last a long time I have never had an issue with it unclamping and the fabric slip is very minimal. Well made collar. I will continue to buy from buckledown.Mo
