I am very, very happy with the Gamma2 Vittles Vault Outback 25 dog food container. The container is very sturdy – made of high impact plastic. I have used different plastic containers which later failed – break or easily spill or easily broken into by my furbabies. I have 3 dogs – 2 medium sized and 1 extra large 145 lbs Saint Bernard – the latter can break into almost anything – even learned how to open our doors. The Vittles Vault is airtight – make the dog food last longer. I like the 25lb size – I fill 2-25lb size containers to better cycle the dog food – not mixing and leaving older dog food in the bottom when I have a new bag of food. The 25lb size is also big enough to have at least a week of food for my furbabies, and small enough to fit in the under the counter cabinets.PilyaM

I have a stackable from another company that I bought many years ago. I bought Gamma2 Vittle thinking I could stack mine on top. No! Gamma2 holds 40 lbs of black oil sunflower seed; mine holds 15 lbs of no-mess bird seed. When stacking mine on top of the Gamma2, Gamma2's top collapsed, and I couldn't get the lid open!! I can't say enough good things about these Gamma vaults! I have 3 of them… so far. Intend to get a couple more. Two of them are used to hold the chicken feed and one I'm using in my prepper pantry to hold things like flour, rice, pasta, etc. which have all been vacuum sealed into smaller packages. The containers are made of thick, durable plastic and have a gasket on the lid that seals the container. None of my containers are exposed to the weather, so I can't vouch for them being water tight, but they are supposed to be. My guess is that they most likely are and I wouldn't hesitate to try one outside if there was a need for it. All of that being said, these stackable containers are a great addition to the prepper pantry, so don't just stop at using them for pet foods!ravensbeak
I have 2 GSD pups and a 12 yr old GSD/Lab mix. I bought 2 of these b/c they eat different foods and I could stack them. They do no lock together so the top one can slide off. Another problem is that the bottom gets squeezed when the top is full and the lid won't screw closed easily. I thought there was a problem with the bottom one but once I realized what the problem was, I moved them to a shelf, side by side and the lids work much better now but still a bit deformed so the one that was on the bottom isn't as smooth as the one that was on the top. The other issue is that this will not hold 40lbs of dog food. I buy 40lb bags for the GSD pups and it won't fit. I buy 35lb bags for my senior dog and that barely fits in these containers.BC5299

We buy 40-50 lb. bags of dog food and bird seed. We could always smell the dog food on the porch where we stored the bags, so we knew the food was not staying its freshest. I cannot recommend this product. The plastic is so thin, that when I added my wood pellets (only 40 lbs out the container's listed capacity of 60), it deformed so much that the lid won't even close properly. If the lid doesn't close properly, then you lose the "seal" and any/all weather resistance.
Working out better than anticipated as I thought it would have been too heavy to move to clean floor without castors. Sturdy tote, reasonably priced, that stores 45 pound bag of dog food easily, (maybe even 50 lbs), utilizing 2 sealing lids that makes contents easily accessible even if you store items on top of lid. Advertised as "stackable" but have yet to test that claim. I do plan on making additional purchases to organize our pantry, (food grade plastic), and hobby rooms.

Has a very large sticker on the front of the bin that won't come off no matter what I do. Makes the brand new container unsightly!! I bought this container to keep my cat’s food fresh indoors. Over Christmas weekend, I went out of town and came back to discover raccoon(s) had ransacked my kitchen. They also tried to get into the cat food and drug this container all thru the house. However, the lock was so secure the raccoon(s) was not able to get in and all the food inside was safe from their grubby little hands. Please be aware that many of the other comments stating that the lid doesn't click shut likely aren't closing it properly. I thought it didn't at first, but you need to push on the tab after closing it to make it secure. The container's latching mechanism was unfortunately broken when I received it in the mail. Fortunately I was able to order a replacement I'm still waiting to receive. Overall the quality of the container is very nice. Even with a broken mechanism the lid will stay secure when closed properly. Aside from the broken latch, the holder for the measuring cup/scoop isn't useful or necessary. Dog food keeps going up in price so I found it cheaper to buy big bags of dog food. Occasionally, we do have issues with sugar ants so I needed a large ant proof container and this is it! Be mindful that it does have a pretty strong rubber seal so be prepared to use a bit of strength to it opening it. But for the most part it’s very cute and festive .
