Very solid and sturdy doghouse for a large German Shepherd. She loves it! I did need someone else to help hold the pieces while I slid things into the proper channels, but it was very easy to put together. Just pay attention to where the floor screws onto the house. Bought this for our 7 month old Pyrador puppy, who has already outgrown one house. It was easy to put together, and the sturdist dog house we've ever seen. Plus being insulated is perfect for a cold Indiana winter. She's huge and still growing and loves it. The first night she slept in front of it despite dog treats inside. We got this house for a new Boxador puppy so that it can spend most of its time outside. We found it to be a good product. It was easy to put together and does stay much warmer than the outside air. In rainy weather, it stays dry. It is a very large house which would work for a lab or other large dog. No problems with the dog using the door. Only suggestion: add nuts and bolts for the 6 screws. It is sturdy enough for our uses, which included putting a smaller insulated cat container in one side of the house and food/water dishes near the entrance. These are nice dog houses. They are light weight & don't look like they are very warm, but they actually do a good job, my border collies like these a lot. I bought my first about 20 years ago, then shortly after bought another. My dogs passed, so I gave them to a neighbor, which still has them in use. I recently got a medium breed puppy, so I went and got another since I had such good service out of the first two. I would highly recommend to anyone with a pet outside. We get some snow where I live and my dogs always stayed warm and dry.
I mistakenly bought the Large doghouse for dogs up to 90 lbs. But my 5 month old coonhound was too large for it. I returned it and ordered the X-large doghouse and it is the right size. Unfortunately, the doghouse was broken in two places, probably due to the way you ship. These doghouses are delivered without any protection and will crack or break when sliding into anything. I will have to repair it to hold it together since I don't trust you are able to send another one without the same issues.Daniel

Use it for my medium sized beagel. Only had for about a week but I was impressed with the easy of installation. Took me alone about 40 minutes to set up. Gave extra screw for misplace or damaged ones. I appreciate the porch so I can put his food and water there without getting all wet. I like the half-roof lift as well for easy clean out. So far it has handled a good down poor without any water leaks. It has real roof sealed roof shingles. It also sits about 1-1.5 inches off the ground… don't worry to much about bugs. The dimensions in the inside is a bit smaller than I anticipated, but my dog like small dens. Don't know how it will hold up for months/years to come, but Im initially impressed.Andre
I purchased the medium size house for my feral cats outside to provide shelter from the elements. I received the house in a few days but had to wait for the weather here to cooperate so it could be put together. It assembled quite quickly. The instructions were pretty straight forward & used the picture as a guide. All pieces were intact and all screws and bolts were included. My one issue is the packaging. This manufacturer needs to use a thicker Styrofoam to not only protect the product from damage, but so that when the consumer takes the product out of the box, Styrofoam doesn't fly all over. What a mess! That being said, I plan on getting another one. As soon as it was all set up, the cats immediately inspected it and made themselves at home😊 I didn't give it 5 stars because the packaging needs to be addressed, but the product is one that I would recommend.Catatude
I actually purchased this house for a feral cat that I look after. I added insulation, a heater, and some straw and he's very comfortable and content. I also added a camera, to see what goes on in there, but that's solely for my entertainment. The house is well made and sturdy and looks great on my deck. I'm so happy with it I've ordered another for another cat. And, at around $100, the price is excellent. I'm giving it only 4 stars simply because it needed to be insulated, it just isn't warm enough without it.. With insulation it's a 5 star house, and insulating it was cheap and very easy to do. So even though I had the dimensions it was still WAY smaller than I thought it would be. I'm not sure what I expected. The actual dog house is a very good size for my 14 (a little overweight) Dachshund. It was hard for him to get up the stairs, I don't know if that's his weird body, short legs and long torso or it's just oddly small. I also changed the stairs from the direction its in to the a straight direction off the top. there was no way he was getting down the way they have it set up, makes no sense! it is beautifully made and I think It's a great house. This was super easy to put together and follow the directions; although I am a very handy person. I love it, it looks great on my patio for my little puppy and gives him a nice spot to rest and hide out in the shade. Side note: as far as the other reviews about the stairs being flimsy… I disagree. As long as you screw in all three screws for the stairs and don't attempt to drag this across and yard or surface, the stairs are very sturdy. I have a 16 year old cat that decided to live outside on our patio earlier this year. I have no idea why. She refuses to come in and when I force her to come in she poops on my shoes (ugh). I live in Southern California so it's not real cold but nights in orange county can get pretty chilly. I have bought her 3 little houses/beds and she refuses to go inside them. This was my last attempt/purchase. It was easy to put together by myself. I did not assemble the "upper deck portion or stairs". I did not screw in the roof either, this works perfectly for me. I can lift the roof off & on for easy access. It's quite snug and fitted when in place but easily lifts off. She's too old to use the stairs and would never use the deck portion. I have it on my patio in a corner under the overhang. She LOVES it!! I put her blanket inside with her pet heating pad (Amazon 19.99) under her blanket and she is in heaven. I lift off the roof every couple days to shake out her blanket and check her heating pad and she's always curled up napping. I am thrilled and now sleep knowing she's warm, comfortable and dry. This igloo dog house is absolutely the best thing on the market. Heavy, durable and withstands high winds, rain, and hail. I haven't been able to test in cold temperatures yet as I just received this recently. However, I have no doubts it will definitely hold up. I waited to give a review because I wanted to test out the weather conditions to truly give my 100% honest opinion. Does not come assembled but it's an easy process. The large is quite large. My dog is 60lbs and has plenty of room left in it to move adound. Provides a great shelter. It is constructed very well. You will definitely not be disappointed with this product! Those who have dogs that live outside this would be perfect for. Very well insulated and lining with straw in the winter will make it that much more insulated. We live in Pennsylvania so our winters can be brutal with sometimes 3 seasons in 1 day. I got this igloo-shaped dog house for our Shih Tzu which is 20 lbs. I got this to keep her cool in the warm months when we sit on our patio. It came in two separate pieces in a large box. The top part of the dog house has 4 brackets which easily snaps to the bottom half for quick assembly. I assembled it in our home and needed to carry it out onto our patio through the front of the house since it was too wide to fit through our sliding door. It is surprisingly lightweight for its dimensions, so it is easy to carry to different locations. The top of the house has a round vent with a paw print which can be turned to open or close it as needed for ventilation. Because of its design, there’s room for movement. The smaller opening in the front protects it from the elements such as wind and sun; although rain did get in through that front opening and not the vent. It disassembles quickly for cleaning or even to transport away from home! Although it is a large house, I feel that it is suitable for a medium size dog so that it can have enough room to move comfortably. Once assembled, my dog was confused and leery, which is to be expected since it’s something new! I gently introduced her to the inside and she was able to move around comfortable until she nested on her bedding. I highly recommend this house for any small to med sized pet to be used in the summer to keep them cool and winter to keep them warmer. Yet because it lacks insulation. I would not recommend it for permanent outside shelter in the winter. Additionally, I did notice that it got hot on the patio and thus I had to move it to a shady area to avoid overheating my dog. Lastly, please leave a water bowl near this house in whatever weather!Madz64
This is one of the best dog houses I have ever had. I love that its light weight but very sturdy dog house. I have never seen a vent on a dog house, but I have to say that is a genius idea for all dogs. My dogs like that it's roomy and keeps them warm on the cooler and hot days. I like that. The dog house is stylish and easy to move around. During storms, it keeps my dogs safe and dry, which I love.
