I am finding Bravecto to be 100% effective at killing ticks before they suck blood, even before they attach. I know it's working because I'm brushing dead (flat) ticks out of my dogs' fur. When I used Frontline and Advantix I was constantly picking engorged ticks from my dogs. Maybe the ticks would have died EVENTUALLY, but they were having quite a ride in the meantime, and dogs were getting itchy, unpleasant wounds. They downside of Bravecto: Theoretically, if your dog has a bad reaction to it, you can't wash it off, like you could with the topical formulas. I have 3 dogs and none of them had any reaction at all, so I haven't faced that problem. We live in an area with lots of ticks and a very high incidence of Lyme disease, so I am willing to take the risk. So far so good!doghairstew

For some reason God had a great sense of humor and blessed me with not 1, but 3 whole dogs who have severe flea allergies/dermatitis. This means if just one flea lands on them they will chew their fur off down to the skin due to their severe allergies and irritation (I learned this the hard way after a skin graft was needed as a pup for one of my dogs). This product is a GOD SEND. A LIFE SAVER. I was doing the Seresto collars before but they stopped working and my vet recommend this instead and though it is pricey ($50 per dog for a 3 month treatment) I sometimes wait for chewy to have their big sale and stock up on it (I pay about half price when it does go on sale). You do need a vet prescription for this flea treatment, but let me tell you it is worth all the trouble you have to go through to get it lol. I have two dogs with two very different personalities. One that will eat anything he can get his mouth on and the other that is super stubborn. I have two dogs with two very different personalities. One that will eat anything he can get his mouth on and the other that is super stubborn. I always enjoyed pill flea control because my dogs are so adorable you just want to pet them all the time, and the drops just get all over your hands if you do. My vet recommended this brand after I told him how much my stubborn dog disliked his previous pill. He said dogs tend to like this taste better in comparison and even if he didn't it wasn't something I have to do every month. He was right! DO NOT BUY!! Bravecto has been known to kill animals and leave them with life threatening health issues! I gave my own dog Bravecto and within days he started having seizures (5 in one day to be exact, 3 at home and 2 at the vet). What was a once healthy 4 year old plott hound/lab mix will now have seizures for the rest of his life and require serious medical assistance thanks to Bravecto. Please, if you love your pets, don’t buy this product. There are much safer alternatives for flea/tick prevention that will not kill or seriously harm your pet. I am not someone who takes my dogs health lightly. I try to use natural products as much as possible. We had a tick outbreak and everything I tried did not work. I bought these drops for all the dogs. Put it on. Took about 3 days to completely soak into the coat but ticks have been unable to attach which is great. Over the last few days there have been less and less. These drops along with Diatomaceous Earth spread around the corners of the house and all the beds is doing the trick. Now the reason I said it won't work for me, is because I have 21 babies so instead of buying 1 bottle a month I would be buying 3 1/2 bottles. First, let me state that I was unsure of this product before it arrived, not only because of the amazing price but because I've tried many different flea pills, chews and the liquid forms and none of them seemed to help at all. I have three large dogs and bought a bottle of 30 chews, geared towards smaller to medium size dogs, for around $29 and some change. Normally even after a bath, once my Dogs go outside, fleas are going to jump all over them. We've treated our yard but not only are there many strays in the area, not all of our neighbors treat their dogs or yards. I have given them each 1 chew daily since I got the first bottle, almost on the second bottle now and not one flea has been found alive on them! While she was in the water I picked quite a few off of her by hand. Two or three times a week, I get her down and pick them off. Do not give to small dogs especially non spayed females In 2020 gave our 2 small dogs flea away within a month the smallest dog developed swelling and lumps in her mamory gland which quickly developed into cancerous tumor she died within 2mos. I have an approximately 12 pound maltipoo. He is very active and likes to roll outside. We had always used Soresto flea collars (approx. $50 for 6 months) and had bought 2 in a row that stopped working after about a week. I decided to try this collar for a lesser value and am SO pleased with the results!! Within minutes of putting it on my Bailey, 7 or 8 fleas rose to the surface of his fur like they were trying to escape (haha) and I have not seen any since then. It has been a while now and I still haven’t seen any. It says water resistant but I decided not to test it so I took it off for a bath and it was easy to take off and put back on. I will definitely be buying more of these in the future for all of my pets!sara615

I purchased one of these for each of my dogs. After about a month with the collars on, my dogs were covered with ticks. I pulled 23 ticks off of them. They weren't just small ticks, but ones that had been on for many days. I returned them and purchased flea and tick meds.lkp100

The Zodiac Flea & Tick Collar is the perfect all-purpose collar for my working “horse dog”. Since he patrols our farm and lives with the horses 24/7, we don’t leave a regular collar on him – too dangerous should it hang up on a fence, and too expensive if we use the quick-release type bra cause of the frequent need to replace it. The Zodiac collar is a great solution – he generally manages to keep it on until replacement time, and should he snag it, it slips off easily.
