I have a 150 lb older Rottweiler who has sensitive skin and gets a lot of hot spots. He also starts to smell bad after a couple of days after giving a bath. Piggy is mostly white with very pink skin. His pads of his feet are pink they are turning a little darker as he gets older . He has one eye smaller than the other and has no pupil response in either eye but can see shadows i think from one eye. I was suspecting he was a double Merle . Iâd love to send a pic so you could see. His traits that you have said he has appearance wise was not accurate. He does have a touch of Merle coloring on his lower hip and leg. But heâs mostly white and very pink around the eyes and pads of feet even pink nose with a touch of black . I would have never guessed he was related to most of these other breeds. He does however have a look of a American Staffordshire terroir a little. His mom Looked like a Australian Shepherd or boarder collie we think. He was a stray we found when he was only 4lbs and had to be fed with a syringe then bottle. Can a dog mixed with so many other breeds be a double Merle ?Kelly D.
We adopted our family dog from a shelter on Christmas Eve a few years ago. Ever since she was a puppy, she had always displayed peculiar traits that didn't seem to align with the traits of the breeds the shelter had guessed for her. I have serious concerns that the sample for my dog was mixed up with another's. The report stated that my dog is 50% golden retriever (meaning one of his parents was 100% golden) and 13% chow, with the remainder being other breeds. I would expect that if my dog was truly 50% golden retriever, he should look something like a golden retriever. Sam does not. He LOOKS like he should be some variation of a Doberman and Shepherd. He has the coloring of both of those dogs (mostly black with tan/brown accents) has VERY short hair, lanky legs, and a long straight tail. I sent a follow-up email to Wisdom Panel when I first read the results and got no response. I should think that since this is partly scientific research, Wisdom Panel would want feedback when data does not result as expected. I have an extensive collection of books on dog behavior and this is by far, one of the best I have ever read. It's the type of book you will refer to over and over. I found it very fascinating. I work in dog rescue and when trying to rehabilitate a dog to be adoptable, I want to be able to understand how he experiences the world. The author talks about dogs from a behavioral point of view, including the effect of environment and genetics on their behavior. She gives examples of her own pet's behavior, which gives the book a personal feeling. She also gives fairly technical information about the dog's anatomy and how it effects their world. This was quite interesting and gives a lot of insight to your pet's behavior. This book compares well with another of my favorite books on dog behavior, "How to Speak Dog–Mastering the Art of Dog-Human Communication" by Stanley Coren. Coren's book is not as technical and deals more with dog behavior and not as much with anatomy. I would highly recomend either of these books to anyone interested in seeing the world from their dog's point of view.dzbfree

I love this all in one shampoo & conditioner for our girl. We have a 7 year old husky and this works great for her. It lathered up really nicely and I felt like I could really work it into her fur. I got this because I was in a pinch. My Springerdoodle couldnât get into the groomers rescheduled a number of times from both ends and she smelled BAD. Her thick kinky hair holds in dirt and the smell. Bathing her ourselves she doesnât dry fast enough and ends up getting the wet dog smell. So I tired this and itâs AMAZING! I will be using this in between groomer sessions forever on now and maybe try it with our German Shepherd. Itâs be a little over 24hrs and she still smells great. Also, i feel like this isnât just for smell. This also cleans the hair and got dirt out of her hair. I had to use probably more than recommended but it got her clean. For $6 I would have used the whole bottle each time but thatâs not needed. I get about 4 cleanings out of a bottle.AZW
We love this waterless shampoo for a refresher in between baths or after a dusty day of daycare playing. We previously used the Chi refresher spray, but it seemed more like a perfume than a âsoapâ.
