My avid little mouser cat caught herself a little prize just a few days before a month-prior planned trip my husband and i were unavoidably about to go to. Apparently that mouse had bitten her back in the process, right on her tender little lip cleft! Using this for hot spots on my canine, this stuff does work but it sometimes can take up to 2 8oz. Bottles to heal the area's treated. Not sure if it's the strength of medicine or just those stubborn spots. My dog had a spider bite on his neck and he kept scratching at it until it got bloody and infected and some of his hair fell off on in the same area. I purchased this product and applied it on the area that evening, and applied it again the following evening. I've tried the Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiseptic and Anti fungal Spray for Dogs and Cats on a few of our outside cats. They've been deflead but one still kept scratching and losing fur just above her tail. I'm not sure if it's an allergic reaction to the fleas or if it's the result of a thyroid problem. But we tried this spray and the itching stopped immediately. It's been almost 3 weeks and she still isn't scratching it. I also wanted to try this on some ringworm that a few of the outside cats have. I've been spraying this on for almost 3 weeks now but haven't really seen any improvement with the ringworm spots that I'm treating. Ringworm can respond slow to treatments anyway so I'm not sure if this is going to help with that or not. The spray is a pump and it has a light citrus smell, kind of like oranges. It will not harm your pet if they lick it. It didn't list a minimum age that you can use it on. It contains Chlorhexidine Gluconate, Keratin, and Aloe Vera. It's listed as an antifungal, antimicrobial, and antibacterial. To use this you just spray the area tell really wet, twice daily for a week, then once daily for another week. I read the reviews for this product but was still a bit skeptical for it to actually work. One of my cats (2 yr old orange tabby) literally scratched the size of a 50 cent bare spot (literally overnight) in center of his back below shoulder blade. By the end of the day the circle was warm red inflamed and gross. Being on a tight budget I did my research for home remedies. First I began applying a year old vet prescribed Dermalone antibiotic that was prescribed for one of my other cats for 3 days but area got worse. Then began applying Neosporin for 2 days lightly on and around scab now and ( luckily the spot was where he could not reach to lick off) and it did nothing as well. A week later purchased this product, followed the directions and a week later the area was completed healed. Scab dried and fell off and new skin looks perfect and normal. Unfortunately I dont know what this was for did not take him to a vet. Infected area did resemble pictures of ringworm online. I stopped giving apoquel to my dog, not only because of the expense (costing more than $200 a month), but also because of all the reviews I have read about the danger to a dog's immune system with prolonged use. My lab/beagle mix suffers from skin allergies, and the poor thing will scratch and chew herself until she bleeds, so I was very eager to try this product. My poor pupper got irritated paws from horrible ginko berries smashed all over the fall ground and then made them worse by licking. They were so red and I felt so bad. This product is on the shelf next to a dozen others that claim to do the same thing, but I didn't get to it until three others didn't get the job done. This showed visible improvement within a day. Bonus that he didn't lick it off – before I tried this I would combo an antimicrobial with one of those "bitter taste dogs hate" sprays, but my dog is weird and loved those things and would lick them like crazy. I've been using it since the 90's – long before Tea Tree oil was main stream in the US. It works so well and I happen to like the smell. I've actually used it on me for poison oak because that's all I had in the medicine cabinet. It is very soothing and helps dry up yucky skin – or poison oak blisters. I am glad I read the reviews on this product. They helped me to decide to give it a try. I have a dog with severe skin allergies. He is on premium dog food. He gets wiped off every time he come in from outside. I still was having problems with him biting or scratching himself raw.
