Great collar! Size guide was perfect. The medium fits my slender build doberman well. Leather is soft and stitching is holding up after a couple of weeks so I am happy! The colors are a nice touch (I got the blue) and make a lovely contrast on her feminine black neck. I would definitely buy it again and may buy a spare!Crystal

I had purchased a halo collar before and was so impressed with the quality that I knew I needed to go with this company again. Also my dog really shouldn't be wearing snowflakes all year. This collar was exactly as described, it is very high quality for the price and wears well. I am a member of Staffordshire Search and Rescue team, and will shortly be training to qualify as a party leader. I purchased two of these lights to become part of my personal kit – a red one to replace the rechargeable red light I have worn on the back of my rucksack during night searches, and a green one as I’ve quickly realised I can colour-code the navigator in a party I’m leading. The Nav normally is a bit of a way ahead of the rest of the party and this light makes it incredibly easy to see where they are. Both lamps are bright, with a very pleasing flash rate, and the ability to flip the battery to gain a solid light is a mark of genius, Whoever designed these should be very proud! Simple to operate, easy to deploy and very lightweight – with what appears to be very long battery life to boot. I love them, and will be buying a couple more in the near future.James G

Nice little lights, I attach the carabiner version to the deck lines at each end of my sea kayak. I obviously can't turn them on myself whilst paddling but my buddy can easily do so. I was a little worried they might not be bright enough but buddies say they are very visible at distance. Great for increasing my visibility if we lose light whilst on the water. This is a wonderful product for your dog. I have a dog who is 16 and can't leave her out without seeing where she is. Thanks for a great product. Bought them for my doctor's dogs and he loves them for ice skating as they can see where there dogs are.bakonur

Won't turn on, or, if it allows itself to be turned on, it turns itself off after a few minutes. Charging makes no difference. I'm so disappointed.Cindy Craig

I love this collar and company! The collar itself is very durable and handles lots of play from my 70lb pit mix (she wears a Large but I adjust it down so it fits more snug). The different light modes are really nice, and we use it every day (especially handy in the winter when both morning and evening walks are in the dark!). Super easy to turn on & off, and to charge with the USB cord. It is NOT waterproof, but will tolerate rain and other water as long as it isn't submerged. When mine had an issue, I emailed the company and they sent a replacement within a week, free of charge. I can't recommend this collar enough!!Jessie Marie

The Halo definitely gives my dog more freedom when walking as far as not hurting himself when he bumps into things. My only complaint would be that the wire is rather easy to bend out of placement when he bumps into something hard, or even gets it stuck/caught on something. Overall, I’m definitely glad we purchased it.Kristin

My dog is a Cav King Charles Spaniel. I ended up getting a large collar which was way too big. I ended up giving it to my sister and it looks great on her dog and she loves it. I can't afford to get another so didn't have one for my dog. I can't believe I ordered that size but I don't have my original order form. It is a nice looking collar and is made well.Deborah

This is the past week with my Halo 2 collars- My dogs got 47 corrections in 17 minutes (July 2, 8:20 – 8:37pm) while inside the fence, in my truck with beacon 1, set to ignore fences. I had to take the collars off but they kept buzzing and beeping and whistling and freaked Buster out so bad he jumped out the window of the truck! Penny was crying by the time I got her collar off and doesn’t want to wear her collar after that. She looks like she’s being punished when it’s put on her now. We had 5 whole days without a malfunction before that night. Woohoo.
We have problems with the map showing one of the collar icons being down the road 1/4 mile from home and it stays stuck there for days. Obviously the collar is useless then because it wont stop giving corrections. Other times the collar icon gets stuck inside the fence, but still gives corrections. Sometimes the locations are just not accurate but not stuck, and gives corrections. Odin’s collar pauses corrections for a day or 2 at a time because of ‘poor gps signal’ according to the app. Sometimes the app doesn’t work right, like when my map was completely blacked out, or when I couldn’t see the collar icons or my tickets. The collars don’t always pick up the beacons either, or it takes a long time. I can’t just put the dogs in the car with my beacon and drive away. I have to take the collars off until I know if they are working right.
I can’t trust these collars to function correctly, because they don’t. You cant train a dog that constantly gets corrected for no reason!
And how could I possibly track my dogs if they ran away after dark, since the batteries would be dead already? The charge doesn’t even last all day-10 hours max. I didn’t even get the extra 2 free months of gold plan I was promised for all our troubles either.
I ordered my 3 collars April 10 and had to wait a couple weeks to get them all. Halo 2+ was released May 13, a few weeks later. I spent $2200 for these collars, and I’m not sure if the lemon law applies here, but for all these problems, I think I should be able to exchange these 3 collars for Halo 2+ collars. Maybe they work better. Maybe I wouldn’t feel as though my money was completely wasted on false claims.
This week’s events-
Sat night Penny got shocked coming inside for no reason. She is pretty much afraid to go anywhere ever since last week.
Thurs afternoon Buster and Odin followed me thru the fence to the mailbox. Odin was even on the road and neither got so much as a warning.
Today, Friday, I was supposed to have a one-on-one with support at 8:30am to look into some of these problems. Well, here I am on my day off work, waiting. Never got the email invitation, nothing in my tickets, just left sitting here like an idiot as usual wondering what to do next.
My dogs are very confused, as am I. They don’t trust their collars any more than I do. I’m turning off the vibrate and static feedback until these things act right, and hopefully the dogs behave if/until that happens. If I dont do this, they will never get back to where they were. I’m so frustrated. I am not a tech-tard, in fact I’m pretty good with electronic devices, so it’s not me, and it’s not my dogs. This has been a constant barrage of problems ever since we got these oversized pieces of junk 2+ months ago. And now that I’ve been messing around trying to get help, it’s too late to return them. Oh and they only post positive reviews on the website, I know because I have written and sent 2 now and neither is posted. Buyer beware.cycledeliclyndee

Everything about buying this product seemed more like a scam than a reputable company. They make it very easy to purchase but forget to mention until after purchase that shipping is 3-4 weeks. Only communication from the company was how to spend more money. After receiving the collar the setup was overly complex. First day using the collar it completely failed within the first couple hours, stating no satellite service. The collar failed to meet the basic functions a $40 shock collar could do. If you are a person hoping to buy this collar in hopes to give your dog more freedom with out direct supervision this is not going to work for you. have now had 2 generations of halo collars. The newest generation really fulfills the promise of having a collar that can be used at home or remote.
My collar now tracks accurately and feeds back quickly. really appreciate the fact that they are able to automatically update the collar "over air" to improve and add to the features of the collar while it charges.
i dont use the beacons much, never trained my dog with them because her original training was on the original collar but have tried them out and they seem to work as advertised.
Battery life is much better and will go the whole day, and the software updates seem to have improved efficiency. Hope the next gen is sleeker and gives us the opportunity to record our voice to use as feedback. Thanks Halo!.Daniel Silvershein
