I decided to try Quiet Moments because I was having difficulty finding the brand recommended by my veterinarian. My elderly Dachshund was having anxiety issues, so had looked for something "non-chemical" to treat her with if at all possible. I'm cautiously pleased after using it for three weeks now. It appears to be working almost as well as the supplement I had previously been using–and it's available here in town at our (new!) Tractor Supply. Big plus–our Tractor Supply offers online purchase and curbside pickup, something that's great for elderly/disabled! First time ordering and the item came quickly which was great. Unfortunately, the box was completely busted open and the treats had fallen out into the shipping bag. The only reason why I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because it took a little longer than expected for these to kick in. My dog has terrible anxiety and when it storms, she shakes and pants heavily and just paces everywhere. I had to look for something because her behavior was becoming so bad, I couldn't control her and she's normally well behaved. I saw the reviews and ordered these. I gave her two due to her size and after about half an hour, the shaking and heavy breathing stopped. She became so calm. I should have gotten these a long time ago! My dog had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics he was on after having a few teeth pulled. The itch was driving him crazy. This is a difficult review for me. While Vetoryl helped my dog in the beginning, she developed some of the negative side effects after being on it for just over a year. She became very lethargic and began to collapse in the floor. She was extremely weak. She had lost about 13 pound in 12 months. I immediately took her to the vet. He took her off Vetoryl and put her on Prednisone which she has now been taking for about 3 months. With the Prednisone, she was Immediately more alert, was less lethargic and her strength improved. She has also began to gain some much need weight. I AM NOT saying not to give your dog Vetoryl, I'm saying to closely monitor your dog for any side effect that may develop the longer your dog is on Vetoryl. The problem with monitoring your dog is that the negative symptoms Vetoryl and the symptoms of Cushing's Disease mirror each other. Which makes it more difficult to decide if it's the Vetoryl or Cushing's Disease that is killing your dog. You have to "know your dog". Know what looks right and what does not. If you suspect your dog may be having a reaction to Vetoryl, talk to your vet immediately.TERRY

My dog has Cushing's disease and this was what the doctors recommended. I was reticent to put her on a medicine that she would have to be on the rest of her life, but it has proven that is works. She was continually gaining weight, now she is back closer to what she should weigh. It also helps with the water drinking and urinating. Apoquel has done wonders for my German Shepherd who recently developed seasonal allergies at six years old. He was scratching and biting at himself 24/7 and he caused an infection on his foot from the constant licking. He was so miserable until our vet put him on apoquel along w an antibiotic for his infection. The apoquel worked very quickly with relief felt later the same day he started. It’s pricey but so worth every penny. Vet believes he’ll need to stay on it until we see at least two morning frosts.Diane Y

I am a vet assistant, and I see all kinds of animals coming in with different skin conditions or allergies and always felt so bad for them and their owners….. then I got a dog with allergies and then I found out what it's really like…. it is devastating watching your dog itch and scratch to the point of pulling their hair out, then when the hair is gone… then there goes their skin…. they will make themselves bleed and still won't stop. I tried benadryl I tried EVERYTHING, had to even do skin antibiotics and steroid Injections and still he was itching…. so… the dr tried him on this….. now… first thing I will say is this medication isn't cheap especially for bigger dogs (if you have a 10lbs dog it's not going to be too bad) but my poor dog had to start off taking 2 16mg 2 times a day and it was roughly 300 for the first month, however from there you taper down and after a few months I got him down to half a tablet once daily…. anyway…. this medication worked like a dream for him. He hasn't had any issues for over a year now and although sometimes he scratches its more of a normal itch. This medication literally saved him and my sanity. I highly recommend trying this if your pets dr thinks it's a good fit.michelle.e

I had been wanting to get my dog a dna test since we got her from the shelter 4 years ago, and I finally gave in and got one, and I’m so glad I did! We knew so little about Rosey, she was just listed as a “terrier mix” at the shelter, other than that all we knew was her age. Rosey is only 35lbs full grown, but she has the head shape of a pit bull. And then she has the classic coloring of small terriers (like the rat terrier I grew up with) white, some brown on her head, and skin covered in black spots. Because she’s so small everyone thought I was crazy for thinking she had pit bull in her, and we CONSTANTLY got asked if she’s a jack russell. Well now we know, she’s American pit bull terrier, chihuahua, toy fox terrier, American staffordshire terrier, and rat terrier. Makes PERFECT sense! As I said, my dog growing up, named Lucy, was a rat terrier. When I adopted Rosey I literally told my gma, “she looks just like Lucy, but bigger and with a pit bull shaped head 😂 And it turns out, that’s exactly what she is! Another awesome thing was we found she has a sister named Delta, which is SO cool! The only thing I wish you guys had the option for, is some way for owners to contact one another. I understand people maybe not wanting their contact info, but maybe have an option where you can send a “request for contact” to an owner of your dogs relatives. If they don’t want to be contacted they wouldn’t have to accept it, then no info is ever shared. But the option would be there. I would LOVE to see if Roseys sisters owners have more info on where our two doggies came from! So that would be a super cool option. I ordered the Essential test kit for my rescue pup back in April of 2022. I had a pretty good hunch that she was predominately Labrador retriever, but with her speckled white chest, I thought maybe she’d have some German shorthaired pointer in her background somewhere. Well, call it “operator error,” but that first test kit I sent in didn’t have enough DNA material to test. I was bummed—instead of getting the results after a week or two of their testing facility receiving the box, I got the “sorry, not enough specimen to reliably test.” I thought I’d have to pay for another test kit. Nope! The email notifying me that my pup’s results weren’t able to be generated had a link which guided me in contacting customer service about a replacement kit. Customer service quoted “approximately 3 business days” for me to hear back from them—I received a response within 5 hours. On a Friday evening. In addition to the quick response, they sent a replacement kit to me almost immediately. Not bad, eh? The second kit was a success—enough material to test. As I was reviewing the results that were sent to me, my skepticism reared its head again. Her lineage had Labrador retriever (as expected), but no presence of German shorthaired pointer. Actually, no presence of any other breeds I’d anticipated. What allayed my concerns about the test reliability was the “Traits” section of her results—the test nailed her physical appearance, from her fur color and fur type, to her nose coloring, and her eye color. It even indicated that she was a low shedding dog (which is true, when the seasons aren’t changing). More importantly, the trait results showed which breeds in her lineage were attributed to the marled/spotted white on her chest! I definitely would recommend Wisdom Panel to any pet parent who’s even slightly curious about their pup’s pedigree. I received my dog DNA testing kit as a Christmas gift. After adopting Maggie a year ago, we were all very curious to see the mixture of breeds in her DNA! She is a tall (skinny stilts for legs!), lean (57.5 pounds since the day she came home!), poofy tailed, medium haired (that sheds everywhere!), white fur (with some darker accents on her ears) girl. While she has the tail, coloring, and double rear dewclaws of a Great Pyrenees, she has the face, ears, and hair of a Labrador, and she isn’t stocky or fluffy. Imagine my surprise to get the results that she is 100% Great Pyrenees??? No way, no how is my Mags not mixed with any other breeds. I wish I could attach a photo to this review, and you would say the same thing! Our vet suggested Great Pyrenees mixed with Labrador, retriever, possibly Anatolian Shepherd as a starting place. The whole reason to test her was to find out which breeds she is obviously mixed with…because she obviously IS NOT 100% Great Pyrenees as the results stated. I’ve contacted Wisdom’s customer service with pictures to get some insight, and after five days, I still haven’t received a response, which is disappointing. I feel like I didn’t learn anything that I expected to learn, and the person who gave me the gift was frustrated to spend so much money with little result. I was hoping that they would take the time to realize that the results don’t add up and offer to send me another test kit, but they have not replied to my concerns. I cannot say that I recommend Wisdom kits after my underwhelming experience.Erin C.

This Gel is NOT just for horses. I was having a terrible pain in my shoulder radiating down to my elbow in my right arm from a car accident years ago (arthritis). The gel did wonders. Although this product is labeled veterinary liniment and recommended for animals only, I have used it for years for joint and arthritis pain upon the recommendation by my Hollywood Stuntmen friends as the only thing they use. I was pleasantly surprised at the immediate relief felt so have continued to use it since for my personal use and have referred it to many friends who also have become consistent users of this gel product. I prefer the gel since it applies more easily without a mess. I must caution however not to rub your eyes after application until after you have thoroughly washed your hands (and no that is not a word of caution based on personal experience…lol). Bought this about a month ago trying to plan ahead for the cold weather and shedding. Decided to try it out when I got it even though it didn't really seem necessary. The amount of loose hair and dead, dry skin it loosened up was AMAZING! And this is on my horse who I groom everyday! My mare really loves it over her lower back and hindquarters. She happily stands there while I groom her. Added bonus was that she feels extra soft after I use it. It also works well post-ride on the sweaty spots – separates the hair out so that it can dry faster. Count me in as a huge fan! Now I want one for my dogs. 🙂Breeze

This tool works super well on my short coat pittie, 2 short hair cats and 2 medium hair cats. The dog loves it and will stand until I'm finished. The cats tolerate it, which is more than I can say for the wire brush I have used previously. My only issue is that the tool works best outdoors since it removes hair/fur, but it doesn't contain it the way a brush does.Chris K

This is part of Watson's regular epilepsy treatment regime. VetRx got it to us quickly when other providers were out of stock. It's technically a chewable, but I have to give it to Watson like other meds, wrapped in meat or cheese… He eats around it even if I put it in his kibble. 🙂MARYBETH

If you've ever tried to brush your dog's teeth you know how much of a challenge it can be, but my two pups like the taste of this so much that I can put some on one of their chew toys and they brush their own teeth. About 6 months ago, my cat, who has feline leukemia, stopped eating, was constantly vomiting, sleeping, and cringed whenever I touched her. She would still come in and sleep on me, but had no energy and whimpered a lot. When I found out that she had leukemia, the vet led me to believe I could make her as comfortable as best I could, or look into euthanizing her. I spent hours searching online for possible medicines that I could give her, even considering some pretty ridiculous and potentially stupid cure options. I found this and used it in conjunction with a Pedialyte and baby food mixture fed to her with syringe. Within 2 weeks, she was eating dry food again, running around with the other cats, and even more energetic than she'd been in the months leading up to this crisis. I turned to this product for my cat after everything else failed. She has a chronic sinus infection that did not respond to multiple rounds of two different antibiotics. She stopped eating and was losing weight. I put drops of this on her food twice a day and she seems to tolerate it. I cannot dose her directly into her mouth, being a cat once was enough and she wriggles free when I try to dose her. She is not cured but is much better and her quality of life is much improved. Piggy is mostly white with very pink skin. His pads of his feet are pink they are turning a little darker as he gets older . He has one eye smaller than the other and has no pupil response in either eye but can see shadows i think from one eye. I was suspecting he was a double Merle . I’d love to send a pic so you could see. His traits that you have said he has appearance wise was not accurate. He does have a touch of Merle coloring on his lower hip and leg. But he’s mostly white and very pink around the eyes and pads of feet even pink nose with a touch of black . I would have never guessed he was related to most of these other breeds. He does however have a look of a American Staffordshire terroir a little. His mom Looked like a Australian Shepherd or boarder collie we think. He was a stray we found when he was only 4lbs and had to be fed with a syringe then bottle. Can a dog mixed with so many other breeds be a double Merle ?Kelly D.

We adopted our family dog from a shelter on Christmas Eve a few years ago. Ever since she was a puppy, she had always displayed peculiar traits that didn't seem to align with the traits of the breeds the shelter had guessed for her. We were very excited to receive our WisdomPanel (which was super easy to use) and even more excited to review the results (which came quicker than expected). The results definitely surprised us. I immediately thought it must have been a mistake, until I looked up pictures of the breed my dog was identified as — it was like looking at pictures of my own dog! I have serious concerns that the sample for my dog was mixed up with another's. The report stated that my dog is 50% golden retriever (meaning one of his parents was 100% golden) and 13% chow, with the remainder being other breeds. I would expect that if my dog was truly 50% golden retriever, he should look something like a golden retriever. Sam does not. He LOOKS like he should be some variation of a Doberman and Shepherd. He has the coloring of both of those dogs (mostly black with tan/brown accents) has VERY short hair, lanky legs, and a long straight tail. I sent a follow-up email to Wisdom Panel when I first read the results and got no response. I should think that since this is partly scientific research, Wisdom Panel would want feedback when data does not result as expected. I am very upset that I spent my money on this, especially with the lack of customer service when I reported my concerns.Stephanie G.

The Adaptil helps with my dogs separation anxiety some, he has an extreme case of it. So anything that will help is worth trying. I believe in less extreme cases it would work even better, that is only my own option. My gelding had rubbed patches on his face bare with his fly mask. Within a week of starting to use this cream, I saw really great hair growth and before I knew it, you couldn't see the bare patches! The coat itself is ok. My problem is with Walmart in the fact that the coat I got was a bit misrepresented in the size information. We bought a small upon the information offered in ad, the small was too large. We paid about $14 for the small and in order to an extra small we would have had to pay about $25. This unacceptable. I appreciate this treat maker because it helps create "cute", but more importantly healthy, treats for my dog given I can control what products he's being served. He has an allergy to honey and molasses and it's amazing how many dog treats contain those two products! I will say, we've only used this treat maker twice and it is a little tough to get used to… mainly because I am afraid of burning myself. The treats I've made so far are pretty sticky and are hard to get off the spoon and spread around properly into the bone shapes. Trying to fully closes the lid so that it snaps closed and then open it has been a bit of a challenge too. Regardless, he has had no problem gobbling them up. Here are my steps to making the perfect bones without burning yourself. Step1. Do not heat or grease the baking unit. Step2. Make the dough Step3. Press the dough into the bone shaped molds in the cold baking unit Step4. Pop out the bone shaped dough from the unit. (I use toothpicks) Step5. Repeat to pre-form the rest of the dough Step6. Heat and lightly grease the unit Step7. Pop the pre-formed dough back into the fully heated unit and bake.Donna C.

If you want to pump out treats like a pro, you should get this. However there is one caveat. You have to tweak their recipe a bit. I did the pumpkin carrot and spinach treats. I added about a half a cup of chicken broth, and about a teaspoon of baking powder. I got it to more of a pancake batter consistency. Then I cooked them for 10 minutes, with out turning. With this recipe, you don't need to turn them, and 10 minutes makes them less chewy. You're welcome!Clint
