As I previously stated I bought two of these harnesses in two different sizes. A small and a medium as I was not sure which would work. The small is a great fit for my 13 lb Shih Tzu. But this is summer and she is shaved down. I am going to use the medium size for winter to go over her sweaters and coats. I just got a couple Airdale Terrier puppies that are about 4 1/2 months now. They're in training now so I wanted to find something that would be comfortable for them while learning to walk on leash. I've tried numerous harnesses and never loved any until this one. I have a miniature rat terrier who is 13.5 lbs. He tends to be too big for mediums and way too small for large sizes. Finally, this harness fits perfectly in Medium! There's even a little room to spare in case he gets larger. We wanted to take off pressure from his neck and the v neck design and light weight, soft mesh is great! It's by far the softest one I've ever felt, and I've tried every one at multiple stores. It's so comfortable that it could be left on all the time even in summer since it's so breathable. My dog lives it too! He seems to feel safe and calmer in it like a thunder shirt makes him feel. I got this in black, size medium from Amazon. She has a 12" neck and a 19" chest. This harness is adjustable around both neck and chest. My pup has a high chase drive and will sometimes pull suddenly. I like that the x-shape doesn't put as much pressure on her throat when she pulls, and the double d-rings and buckle closure feel very secure for her leash. I bought this in a medium a week ago and I've used it around 2-3 times already. I have a maltipoo and she has a tendency to pull and try to go faster/farther and it would cause her to choke in her previous harness. However, not a single time since I've started using this has she choked/gagged. The sizing is a bit off for her though, since a small is too tight but a medium is too loose (but the medium isn't loose enough for it to be unsafe/falling). This harness is true to its name and is so helpful for dogs that try pulling and end up choking. It's also super softer than her old one. I also bought a small for my yorkie and I think she loves it! Normally she hates harnesses but this one she doesn't seem to mind! I feel like it makes her more comfortable when she's walking as her previous ones weren't the most softest like this. This is my third Gooby harness. Small size worked well when she was a puppy. She outgrew the Small we got her a medium and there was a small sign of tearing on this harness when we upgraded her to large. We got her the large pink and the fabric tore in half. The black fabric on the edge was the only thing keeping it together. Our dog weighs 18lbs but she’s built like a tank. If you have a dog that pulls I wouldn’t recommend this harness. Our husky puppy is a little escape artist so having a harness that is sturdy and fitting is a must for us. We had a different harness when he was smaller but now that he’s growing (46lbs already at 5 months!) we needed something that will last and keep him safe. This harness checks all the boxes for us! I’ve used many harnesses over the years but this is by far my favorite! My last harness had Velcro straps and as time went on the Velcro began to wear out so in less than a year I couldn’t use the harness any more. So when I started looking for a replacement I specifically tried to find one that was high quality with no Velcro so it would last a long time. I spent weeks looking for the perfect harness with no luck….. Then I came across this one!!! It is absolutely perfect in every way! The chest piece of the harness is made of a high quality sturdy padded material that keeps your dog safe and comfortable at the same time. All the straps are super adjustable so it can fit your dog snugly no matter what their body shape. My dog has a small head/neck, large chest, and skinny waist. So having a very adjustable harness is essential to making sure she is safe on our walks and can’t slip out accidentally. I got her a size medium and it fits perfectly! It took me probably 20 minutes of tweaking to finally get the harness adjusted just right. But now that I have it adjusted it’s super easy to just pop on any time she need to go outside. I’ve also found that this harness fits well under a doggy sweater during cold weather since it’s not overly bulky.Anna
I got this harness for my golden retriever, who is about 80 pounds. He’s big but he’s lean, and I got an XXL for him. However, this harness DID NOT fit! An XXL didn’t fit my GOLDEN RETRIEVER, an averagely large dog. I expanded all the straps as long as they would adjust and it still was too small. I’m pretty disappointed, as there aren’t any sizes larger than this. What kind of dogs are they making this harness for if an XXL won’t fit a Goldie? The reason I gave it 1 star was because it felt well made and it looked really nice, but other than the look I wouldn’t give it any stars. The straps were rough nylon and seemed like they would chafe if worn for an extended period of time. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this product, and would suggest spending the extra money for something more comfortable for your companion.Ali K
