I just received the Pawbee dog doorbell and the first thing I noticed is that the packaging does not match what I see pictured online (no box – just the doorbells in plastic). No big deal but seems odd. Mine did not come with the training booklet but the instructions are simple enough. I do think this product is a good solution but of course it has it's pros and cons: Pros: inexpensive comes with 2 – 1 for inside and 1 for outside will probably do the trick for most trainable dogs simple to use Cons: anyone opening the door will make a loud noise at all times unless you remove probably not extremely long lasting – but maybe not necessary if you have cats – will be a cat toy for sure! if you have kids – will be a toy for them height not adjustable I can't say the cons outweigh the pros except that this is a temporary situation. All the cons may be worth it once your dog gets trained. I would give this inexpensive solution a try.1100

This was purchased as there was some person who thought it a good idea to kick my door in very hard whenever they felt like it. (A very unpleasant tik tock craze I understand). I am reasonably tech savvy, so set this up. It was put in situ with all the settings correctly saved. My unit only records anyone if they ring the door bell, which of course has limited use if you are trying to detect someone up to no good. It does not detect any motion around or approaching my door. I have checked all the settings that would enable this function but it still doesn't work. It informs me of a motion outside my door, but it's just a car which is quite a long way off but not someone standing waving their arms about on my doorstep. I will call Ring customer services, but my initial impression of this is that it is a very expensive mistake. If Ring customer services get this sorted I will review this review more favourably but if not I will be back to John Lewis as I have read countless other reviews saying it only starts to record motion when the person is leaving or not at all.Disappointed.
Don’t buy Ring Doorbell. This product has known flaws by the company, and they refuse to do anything to fix the product. Do not buy Ring Doorbell if you live in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Parts of New York, Iowa, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho, Alaska, All Canada, Upper Illinois, Ohio, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and anywhere else in the world where the temperature gets cold. 10 Degree or colder and Ring Doorbell will not work. I called Ring Doorbell and they said their batteries do not work in the cold and they refuse to do anything to address the problem. They tell you your just out of luck wait until the temperature warms up and the Ring Doorbell should work again. Also, the battery should charge when wired to your old doorbell, but it doesn’t. Ring doorbell says you must bring the battery inside and charge the battery because it won’t charge if hard wired to your existing doorbell. What a poorly designed product. Ring Doorbell should be held accountable for selling a known defective and poor product that they know will not work if it gets cold. They should not be allowed to sell the product in any of the states listed above since they know the product will not work when it gets cold. Ring Doorbell are criminals and need to be held accountable for selling products that they know will not work.hills58
