Just purchased this for my 70 pound elderly dog who has difficulty getting into and out of the car. I would have loved to keep this because of how well it was made, but it just didn't fit into the door opening of our new Equinox. Unfortunately the door didn't open wide enough. Also it wasn't long enough to use in the back lift gate. It was just too steep. Would be great in a regular car, but SUV's seem to be too far off the ground.Jodi
This is a nice sturdy ramp. I believe it may work well for vans but, with both of our cars (Chevy Malibu and Nissan Altima) the ramp does not have a level place to set it on. Our Golden Retriever tried it on both cars but it was to unsteady for her. I was very happy and a little surprised at how easy it was to return the product. This was a life saver. My pug is 15 and needs help getting up and down from couch. It has 3 positions so it is not steep for an older dog to use. It is ready to use right out of the box. Looks like a nice piece of furniture. It is not to long and can be used in the smallest spaces. The carpet like material on the ramp, also has slip resistant material on it (like what is on the bottom of socks). The dogs love it and it does not bother their feet. When going down the ramp, they can go as slow as needed and not slide down. I highly recommend this product. It will not work with really high beds or trucks unless you add to it. But it is perfect for anything else including cars (if needed) It is very light and easy to move around. It is very sturdy and does not move when dogs are using it. Even my younger dog loves it and she is scared of everything. The first day we got it we used treats to get them to use it. I only took a few minutes and they loved it. We had foam stairs before this but my older dog was still having issues using it. Because of the material of the stairs, when going down, it would force her to go fast and slide. Our 4 month old puppy was approaching 50 lbs. The stairs on the back deck are very narrow-making it difficult for her to learn to learn to go down. Carrying her was unsafe especially in ice and snow. She quickly learned how to use the ramp and now uses the ramp to run up and down. The ramp was a great purchases and probably prevented an injury to us or our pup. The only word of caution is to tighten screws bolts on the underside prior to use – they were not tight and fell of when taking out of box. Otherwise the ramp is stable and stays in place. This is the perfect ramp for getting my 70lb Lab in and out of the truck. She is a little skeptical of going up it but comes down with ease. I just need to work and praise on the up step. It is light and portable and fits our needs just right. We had a plastic one for the last few years and it gave out and snapped in half. The construction of this one will for sure outlast the plastic one. The only downfall to this one is the strap closure to hold it together during transport. Our 9 year old Siberian Husky recently tore her ACL doing her "happy dance" for the neighbor lady that gives her treats. At first I picked her up and took her outside and back inside, as well as in the vehicle and out of the vehicle to her doctors appointment. She is very independent and active and not one to be confined, in fear of doing more damage than good picking her up I looked to making her a ramp to get in and out of the house. It may sound like I am on the payroll however the first site that caught my eye was Discount Ramp because of the aluminum ramp. Being aluminum it solved most of the criteria for the ramp I wanted being: 'weathering' as well as 'portable' for the vehicle and house. Since buying the ramp about 2 weeks ago we are continuing to acclimate her to use it more. She is very independent and still not real sure of it, however with the non-skid tread and training her 'its a good thing' she is coming around. I can't say that there is any dislikes of the product, it's the perfect size (8ft), light weight / portable and fits the needs for what I was looking for. I had a small sturdy table made to use this ramp along side my bed, and used velcro to secure the ramp lip to the table. So far neither of my dogs prefer using it, although both will use it when 'treat bribed'. Mainly because they're used to me picking them up. However, my aged cat loves to use it. In time and with patience all of my babies will use it. Meanwhile it's lightweight portability will make traveling with my babies for much easier. I have a senior dog that is having difficulty with stairs. I have several spots where a ramp is needed, with different rises, so I bought several ramps from several companies to see what would work best. My primary concern was length of ramp versus weight of ramp, as I have higher rises and in some spots I need to run several ramps with a landing pad in between. Discount ramps arrived the fastest. When they say lightweight, they mean it. It is not designed for anything other than a dog. It is very lightweight, which was what I was looking for because it will need to be set up and taken down repeatedly. However the design of the ramp basically has 3 aluminum rails that are the bottom edge supports and a center rail which run the length of the ramp, with a sheet of aluminum laid over the 3 rails and hinges in the center. The hinges don't relax to allow the ramp to go completely flat, so the ramp has a little bit of "spring" to it in the center. Also, because of my setup, a human has to step on the ramp in order to open and go in and out of the door. I am only 150 pounds, well under the weight capacity of the ramp, and I can walk on it without it breaking, but I can feel the sag of the sheet aluminum in between each of the rails where there is no support. It is holding with no issues, but I don't know how it will hold up over time. Also, one of the rivets in the center by the hinges popped the first time it was used, straight out of the box. One of my other dogs ran up the ramp and the "spring" in the hinge area seemed to be the cause of the rivet to pop as the dog caused the ramp to bounce slightly as it ran up the ramp. The ramp has been in use for 2 weeks now and no other issues have arisen. The other ramps I ordered from other companies have arrived and they are heavier, longer, and more durable, but are also not as easy to shift around. I have taken this ramp in the vehicle, since it is so lightweight, and it works well resting on the bumper of the SUV. Overall, it is an adequate ramp if lightweight is the primary feature you are looking for. It is the least expensive ramp I ordered, so the price is reflective of the sturdiness of the ramp.Pamela K.
We purchased the ramp for a large, tri-pawed dog who is sometimes afraid to go down a set of steps outdoors, and who has recently hurt his remaining back leg. We have tried to get him accustomed to the feel of it by laying it on the floor indoors in front of his food dish. We've had mixed success and recently, after a few weeks, we removed it. I recently purchased a DoggoRamp bed ramp and a couch ramp. As a dachshund owner, I have ramps all over my house. I've purchased ramps from various vendors and have never been fully impressed with my prior purchases. They've all done the job, but they haven't really been pretty or particularly well made. When I received the DoggoRamps I was very impressed. They are well-made and feel very solid. My favorite feature is the small step at the top of the ramp. I had been looking and researching for something for my two dogs that are 11 years in age and having trouble getting on and off our bed. I knew stairs wasn't an option so I got one of these wood bedside ramps and I absolutely love it. I like the ribbed carpet that covers it and that makes my dogs feel more secure when using it. I like how it is angled to run the length of my bed and having a tall bed isn't an issue since it has a height of 25 inches. It was very easy to assemble only took me a few minutes and all hardware for assembly was included. It is very easy to keep clean and I can easily move it into our living room during the day so my dogs can have access to the couch if needed. The weight limit is 120 lbs so I dont worry about it tipping over when my dogs are running up and down. The only thing is on wood floors, it will slide as in our living room, but we use a blanket underneath it and this sovled the problem. As long as it helps my dogs and gives them the ability to continue living a easy life, it is well worth it. I could not be any happier to have this sofa Ramp. I have 3 little dogs. 1 is a 13 year old Toy Chihuahua and the 2 others are Shi-Chi's one which was diagnosed earlier this year with intravertable disk disease. My jeep is 22" high and i got this ramp for my 100lb rottweiler who has both his knees operated. This ramp is perfect. My dog goes in and out of my car with no issues. This is 60" long ramp which gives it a 22 degree angle of inclination for the ramp. 18 to 22 degree is recommended for dog ramps. It also has strap to attach the end of the car. I have to use old sweats on the ramp while my dog goes up to make it less slippery. But that not big deal. Its light weight and folds which are best the features. With two large dogs who are aging, jumping into my vehicle is not always easy for them and also dangerous if they fall, so this alleviates their need to jump and lets them enter carefully. It does require training, just like with horses getting into a trailer, but once they get it, they love it!

We were excited to receive this ramp because we have a corgi and try to prevent her from jumping on and off furniture as much as possible. Unfortunately, the box arrived damaged, and the ramp’s legs are wooden, so there is a 12+ inch crack down one of the sides. It’s also awkwardly long for our bedroom and living room, so would recommend measuring your space when deciding between a ramp or stairs. On the plus side, it has a nice non-slip carpet over the surface, and the bottom of the ramp has 2 non-slip grips. This was a very disappointing purchase. As soon as it arrived on my front stoop I could tell that this unit had already been purchased, poorly repackaged, and resold without anyone ever bothering to fix the poor repackaging. Initially upon unboxing the item everything looked ok. Upon further review I found a huge crack in one main sidewall of the ramp at what would be the top of the ramp if it were in a raised position. It was then that I noticed that the ramp was made of plastic. Maybe I should have seen that in the specifications before buying. My guess is that a human genius walked on the ramp and broke it. The no-slip walkway was very good, BUT had to return because our 12 year old dog (90 lbs) was not willing to go that high; it was for the rear of 2019 subaru outback, seemed good quality. I got this ramp for my 10 year old dachshund rescue dog to use indoors on a short set of steps that lead to the outside door. (Just for steps). I am happy with the quality and there was nothing to assemble. Although the surface has a slight roughness, it is still too slippery for Lucy – she sort of slid down the last foot or so. I am going to cover it with carpeting using double sided carpet tape which i feel with solve the problem. Also because we are using the ramp indoors on steps I will need to secure the top edge to the landing. After that I think it will be quite adequate for her. She has some back issues and I do not want her straining herself up and down steps. I would expect this ramp to be good for medium to small dogs, it seems a bit too flexible for a dog over 40 lbs.Andrea

The only criticism is it would be better if two felt rectangles could be attached to each end of the ramp, (one for the top and one for the bottom) so it is not so slippy for him when he is climbing up it. I was able to find some felt squares that I attached in intervals going up the ramp, but a larger rectangle for each end would be much better.Elizabeth
