I took my aging terrier off prescription bladder control and switched to this product a little over a week ago. I did not do this gradually. So far, so good. My dog has not had any accidents in the house and seems to have as strong a bladder as with the prescription med. Label said good quality and taste they might be but to tell the truth, I will probably never know cause my dogs spit them out. I've tried to sneak pills in hot dogs, works sometimes most times if they find them dogs turn their noses up and walk away. No its like everything else I have tried does not work I can't even get my cats to get it down. My 20 y.o. senior cat has had upper respiratory issues since he was 1 year old, but had gotten so chronic and so bad that he has literally had a stuffy nose and sneezing for an entire year straight. Dog – 50 pound female GSP with spay incontinence since 6 yrs old (now 10). This product does help reduce incontinence. However, depending on the severity of the incontinence, it may not clear up the problem completely. When incontinence first started, there was leakage several times a day (mostly during rest). After 2 months of use (2 pills/day), this product reached its full effect and leakage reduced in frequency and severity (a few times a week in smaller amounts). She will still leak if she drinks a fair amount of water. My dog generally eats a fresh food based diet. She gets quite a bit of hydration from her food and doesn't drink as much from the water bowl. When her diet becomes more kibble based, she's thirstier and drinks from the water bowl. When she's drinking water, it's a large amount over a short time. Shortly after drinking is when she tends to leak. Dog has been on synthetic hormone DES before which works great (maintenance dose of 1 mg pill/week). There's controversy over DES and it's not for every dog. Bladder Strength along with frequent potty breaks (after she drinks) keeps the problem in check enough to not require her DES prescription to be renewed. My dog has been having accidents at home for too long. We chalked it up to separation anxiety. I know they say dogs don't have the mental capacity to be spiteful. My 12 year old Yorkie suddenly starting losing the contents of her bladder during the night. The vet suggested checking for a UTI. I did some research and found that not only would that be expensive and require a course of antibiotics, many people found that the dog's UTI would come right back after they were done. My cat has very long hair and hair balls often. She actually goes through 2 periods a year where she has them almost everyday. She refuses all other hair ball medicine. I had never had a cat the refused that gel in a tube but she does and she has refused every way I have tried to give her this or other types too. If your cat hates pills or is picky, this is what you need. It may look like just a bottle of giant pills but they break easy and my cat loves them. We took our cat to the vet after he woke me up in the early morning howling in pain trying to urinate in the litter box. We discovered he had a UTI and his bladder was very inflamed and full of struvite stones. After a round of antibiotics and other meds to relax his urethra and dissolve the stones, along with new prescription diet food, I started researching other ongoing preventative maintenance options. I ran across Tinkle Tonic in an online forum and was shocked at all of the glowing reviews of how it had been a miracle worker for their pet's issues. So far Tinkle Tonic has been working very well. An overnight stay at the vet and a midnight run to the emergency vet for fear of stones or crystals for our cat who was diagnosed with FLUTD since he was a kitten, and being told each visit that it was just chronic inflammation (a frustrating but common side effect of FLUTD) and there wasnt much the vets could do other than pain meds and anti inflammatories. Needless to say we were ready to try some additional preventative care and heard good things about this product. Its been 2 months now of adding the tonic to our cat's prescription wet food and so far so good. He doesn't notice or seem to mind the taste, no adverse effects of adding the recommended dose to his diet and best of all hes been happy and healthy. Seems to really help. It doesn't take much, either. I only give my cats 3 drops per day, and that seems to be enough to keep things flowing the way they should. One of my males had a problem when I introduced a new cat into the household, he wasn't stopped up, but did start holding it in and that caused inflammation. After a vet visit and meds from the vet to help him through the initial problems, this has helped keep him from holding it in again. It won't work miracles, if a cat, especially a boy, doesn't urinate for a period of 24 – 48 hours, take him in to the vet to make sure there's no blockage since that can very quickly become life-threatening, but this is good for maintaining things in working order.ageek33k

I adopted a dog 2 years ago and she is great. We started using this for our Golden due to her health issues. While she was taking Caranidin she did not have any bladder issues for infection. She became very ill with a heart issue and trying to keep the cost down we tried something different. That was a HUGE mistake! She started having urinary infections. In my specific case, this product did not work as expected, recurring E coli UTI is again here. However, due to some clinical reports and recommendations, cranberry extract may prevent UTI caused by UPEC (Uropathogen E coli). And Crananidin is among very few products available that has standardized amount of proanthocyanidin, an active substance which might prevent E coli to attach on bladder wall. For this reason, I would recommend to try it, but do not expect miracles; it may work, but it may also not work. I ordered a product for over $200. When received, the product did not work for me – so I immediately contacted Essential Pet Products. I received notification to use Return Authorization using the authorization numbers, including a copy of the invoice. I took the package to the UPS store, they checked to make sure I had all the paperwork correct & off it went.
