i have used mendota leashes in shelters for a few years now. I decided to buy a clip leash for my dog and the leather piece near the clip did not seem to be sewn down like it used to be. I got the slip leash in Jelly roll in the 3/4 size for my Boston. We got this leash because we live in an apartment and we thought this would be a great and easy way to take her out to go potty without having to put on her collar each time and get her ready. We bought an original pattern leash for our Husky in 2011. Well I didn't think too much, back then it seem like too much money for a leash, but the pet store associate sold us on the warranty. I use to use a harness until I learned, by being pulled so hard my shoulder ached, that it was akin to hooking up some sled dogs for an Iditarod. I bought this to walk my twin 25lb doggies. I think we should have ordered the small to med size for them. The hooks on these are very heavy and I think too much weight for my 25lb. doggies. I'm sure they would be fine for big doggies. The leash is too long. I looped it thru so that it would be 1/2 as long and my doggies would be closer.
