This was a life saver. My pug is 15 and needs help getting up and down from couch. It has 3 positions so it is not steep for an older dog to use. It is ready to use right out of the box. Looks like a nice piece of furniture. It is not to long and can be used in the smallest spaces. The carpet like material on the ramp, also has slip resistant material on it (like what is on the bottom of socks). The dogs love it and it does not bother their feet. When going down the ramp, they can go as slow as needed and not slide down. I highly recommend this product. It will not work with really high beds or trucks unless you add to it. But it is perfect for anything else including cars (if needed) It is very light and easy to move around. It is very sturdy and does not move when dogs are using it. Even my younger dog loves it and she is scared of everything. The first day we got it we used treats to get them to use it. I only took a few minutes and they loved it. We had foam stairs before this but my older dog was still having issues using it. Because of the material of the stairs, when going down, it would force her to go fast and slide. This does not do that and allows them to go as slow as possible (I know I repeated this but it truly makes a difference for an older or injured dog/cat.)Nic

Sturdy and easy to put together. My puppies loved chewing the bottom step. They did a lot of damage so if you have chewers you will want to add a step protector or do something proactive. I also used my rechargeable Dyson to vacuum, don’t. The material is not designed for strong suction. It will stay looking great if you use a hand broom to sweep. I just purchased two more, we have four little dogs. It is very bad for small dogs to jump off furniture. I really like it for my little girl, a 5 1/2 lb YorkiePoo. She can zip up to the bed in a flash, that is great for this older mom to not have to get out of bed to lift her up when she simply must get up! She often remembers she left a chew bone on the floor in the living room and she really, really needs to go back to get it for bed! My only complaint is the degree of slant is much too short for her to go back down. She cannot get her feet to the next step going down before she is tumbling down head first, because the next steps are steep with a narrow portion of the next step down not giving enough room for the back of her body to get on. I hope I am making sense, she is afraid after several tumbles all the way down. It is worrisome because to get down, she has to make a big leap off the bed. I was looking for some simple 3 or 4 step stairs for my 5 pound toy poodle mix and these are exactly what I wanted. It was super easy to set it up, they’re not too heavy, and my dog consistently uses it now. At first he was super hesitant and curious as to what it was. Keeping my little hyperactive boy from jumping has been a challenge so I am hoping he will use these stairs rather than jump off the sofa. He already went up the stairs once with a treat. I think these steps are easier on his joints than jumping off the sofa which has proved impossible to stop. This is 60" long ramp which gives it a 22 degree angle of inclination for the ramp. 18 to 22 degree is recommended for dog ramps. It also has strap to attach the end of the car. If you used these in the living room you wouldn't need to apologize for its looks. If someone objects to how these stairs look send them packing and hug your pet. For a pet that can't jump up anymore this is a firm foam that my 20lb dog can maneuver easily to get in bed with us. Floor to couch or chair would be even easier. They don't wabble or slide, even on a wooden floor, when he launches himself from the top step. They would be a compliment to any room for a needy pet. Vacuums easily to remove even fuzzy shih tzu hair. In fact his fuzzy hair doesn't cling to this fabric compared to the other stairs we tried. Sticky roller works well too. Fabric doesn't lift away from stairs like the last set did. The fabric is very smooth which also facilitates cleaning. We aren't seeing impressions of his footprints depressing into the foam. The foam is firm enough it just bounces back. These stairs are NOT a block of styrofoam. We haven't had any stains so I can't speak for that. Wasn't as tall as I thought it would be. These are good sturdy steps for smallish dogs. The foam is dense. Also these are tall enough to reach the top of a mattress which is hard to find. The problem is with the delicate fabric on the treads and the underside that meets the zipper. Both fray too easily. Because if this, removing the cover for cleaning destroys it too quickly and then the zippers fail. A better quality fabric would make these steps ideal.Rhonda

This step is a little steep like some other reviewers said. The fit of the foam is a little tight for the top part which deforms the top step a bit, so it is not a flat surface like shown in the picture. My little 4 lb yorkie does use it, but not all the time. He still likes to jump, but I do praise him when I see him using it.Danielle
