Seems like good construction. I liked the pads on top to prevent pinching, but overall, it is still the same standard harness you can get everywhere. Unfortunately, I am still on the hunt for a good harness to use for running with my dog. The harness rubbed under his armpits and rubbed them raw. The look of the harness is great however the material cannot stand up to chewing which is not covered under warranty. I bought one yesterday and this morning I left to get breakfast and when I got back 20 minutes later he had chewed through one of the straps and had taken a chuck out of the nylon canvas chest piece. Rugged ,tough , durable harness . Works like it should . It takes a little time to get a proper adjustment , unless your dog is growing it's a one time thing . We like it better than other harnesses we have . I find it laughable that people would give a poor review because their dog chewed on it . That's on the owner and their poor dog . I have a Mini Australian Shepherd puppy, and this harness is so good!! The way the leash attachment “floats” along the dorsal strap makes it work really well no matter where he is in relation to me (front/back/side), and it had really helped him learn not to pull, because unlike a collar it’s not actually unsafe for him to test his limits (so I dont have to try and keep him from doing it, just address when it happens). Purchased and selected size last year based on Kurgo size chart recommendation. Harness was way to large, at the smallest setting on our 56# Aussie. Also hooks/ slides on back of harness twist and turn, don't stay in place.. The adjustment slides don't stay in place in the front and the harness , after one pull is huge again. Quality materials but poor execution of design. Very expensive for what you get. And CS rep hanging up when I called spoke volumes. mes.Janesdog

I bought this harness because of the front clip for my dog who likes to pull. The clip on the front is very flimsy and I don’t trust it with her. This is really surprising because the rest of the harness’ hardware is HEAVY DUTY. I almost returned it but I love the heavy duty handle on it. Otherwise a very well made harness – I use it every day, just not for walks where she will pull. I went with a halti instead. I don’t know why they cheaped out on the front clip as the rest of the harness is fantastic. I will say the attachments for around the belly are a bit cumbersome to do with a large breed, long haired bouncy puppy. It’s the old fashioned belt clips and I sometimes have a hard time sliding it through with all the hair.CaucasianShepherd

I actually bought 4 of theses harnesses and really like the overall design and felt my dogs were safe in the car. However I totally hate the metal buckles as some of them do not buckle very easy. I had to file them down to make them easier to manipulate. And for someone with arthritis putting them on is a struggle, certainly not buckle and go, more like fiddle and fiddle and go. Another thing is if dog turns around everything at the top gets tangled into a big mess. They really should product test what they sell with all kinds of dogs. They are made reasonably well but skimp in the seam fabric which come apart in some areas after even hand washing which then causes fraying of edges. Three years ago I bought this harness for my dog and loved it!! Metal fasteners can't be chewed through, fit well and very durable. We have used when traveling since then. We recently got another dog, so got another one but the woven straps are so slippery that I can't keep the harness adjusted. the sliding adjusters slips on th webbing. The medium Kurgo harness fits my 23 pound dog well. The harness itself is incredibly sturdy – I was actually surprised by how “heavy” it is. The blue color is nice and the reflective material is an added bonus. The harness slips on over the dog’s head then buckles closed on each side. So far, it has been very easy and fast to put it on and take it off my dog. The leash clips are positioned in such a way (middle of back) that makes it easy to walk the dog without her choking herself (a problem we have with our old harness) from pulling. The harness is a bit stiff, however, so it’s not good for car rides where dog needs to lie down for long periods. The only concern we have is the loops to clip the leash to don’t seem as sturdy as the rest of the harness. The are a thinner aluminum that bends easily. Overall, I am impressed with this harness and recommend it.Ndanip

If you have a barrel chested dog and want to attach a leash to the front D ring (my pup is a puller, so that was the whole reason we bought this), I wouldn't recommend this harness. I have a 14 month old standard poodle (45 lbs) and we bought a medium as she fit smack dab in the middle of those measurements. Unfortunately, the harness just doesn't fit deep-chested dogs. The neck opening is weirdly large and can't be tightened very much so after adjusting the harness to fit her, the front D ring ended up right between her front legs. We couldn't attach a leash to the front ring because she would stumble over it while we walked. Seems like Kurgo could fix this pretty easily by just moving the front D ring higher to be closer to the neck opening, but unfortunately not easy to fix/solve the issue at home. We'll be donating this as it unfortunately doesn't work for us.torvinn

My boyfriend has the Nylon Reflective Journey Air Dog harness (M), which looks like this harness mixed with the Tru-fit harness kind of. I have this Journey Air Dog harness (M) for my GSD/husky mix. We have a couple of issues with this specific model of the Journey harness. She has an athletic build with a pretty deep chest that is also narrow as heck, and due to the longer padding on the top of the chest piece, I'm unable to adjust it enough so that it fits her well. It renders the front D-ring useless, as the harness will pull to the side of her body loosely. Unfortunately, sizing down would mean that it would not be able to fit around the deepest part of her ribcage. The other issue I have with this harness is that I'm nervous it chaffs the back of her armpit area. It's pretty snug up against the backs of her legs–maybe even too snug. I would size up, but then that would exacerbate the issue with the front. I'm almost certain it's an unpleasant experience for her as she runs away when I so much as pick up the harness. I brought up the fact that my boyfriend has this type of harness (but a different/earlier model) because I am able to adjust that one well to my dog. None of the issues present in my harness are present in the other one, likely because of the smaller chest padding. I would go to the Tru-Fit harness for my pup, but we go hiking a bunch, and the handle on the back is a must-have. What is probably the most upsetting is that I cannot find this other model of harness in stock and in the size we need anywhere as of today. I brought two of these a couple of months ago, one dog it works great. My other dog has managed to tie himself in knots around the seatbelt, tried with and without the extension to control his movements and he still ties himself up in knots. Worse he has managed to have the D-ring tear through a seatbelt. He has both slipped out of the harness and managed to undo the seatbelt. Ever since my first Kurgo booster seat, I’ve been a huge fan. These harnesses are no exception, and are the perfect companion for the booster seat lineup. I’ve had to “brake check” one of my dogs to keep him from trying to get out of his seat with the little leverage he has in his seat. I have a Chocolate Lab that weights in at about 80 pounds. She is really hard to fit for a harness. They are always to big on the top/neck to fit her on the chest. Finally I have one that fits her in both places the she seems very comfortable in. The PetSafe 3 in 1 Harness is adjustable at both the top/neck and the chest. It has a nice padding for comfort. It gives the ability to walk her from the front or back which is great depending on how you want to walk your dog or the situation you are in. Bonus feature for the dog that loves to ride in the car, is the strap on the back that the seat belt can slide through to secure your dog in the car. I can honestly say that the front no pull option didn't stop my girl from pulling if something distracted her enough. Mine ripped in the same place others have complain about. My dog did not chew it. It was so odd as I was taking the dog to class and it just fell apart. Wasn’t even pulling on it. I have two Easy Walk harnesses that are 11 and 12 years old and still going strong. However I bought one for my new puppy and it’s much thinner and flimsy looking. But it didn’t break she just outgrew it. Even though the Petsafe broke it was prettier so I was ready to try one again until I read the reviews and saw others breaking in the same place.MJCB

I love the versatility of this harness. I am able to use this for my car rides or when going out for a walk with my dog. We always have trouble with keeping him still in the car and am afraid he will fall or get hurt when driving. I was able to put this harness and attach to my seat Belt while still giving him wiggle room. It’s great for walking out too the only thing I find uncomfortable is how the front clip is set. It’s supposed to prevent my dog from pulling and it does help with this a lot, however I find it uncomfortable to attach a leash to. Usually I am used to having the leash at the top or dog’s back. This has both so its very versatile like I said. My doggy seems to be comfortable in this harness too so the pull clip I will not use but may work great for other owners. Bought this harness when I (and family) adopted our new retriever mix and were required to get a martingale harness as part of the adoption agreement. We've had him for just over two weeks now and I’m disappointed to discover that the straps of the harness we bought then have frayed dramatically at several points in such a short time; including one point at which a key strap is holding on by just a few threads! It seemed to fit relatively well during the time we have been using it. I’ve seen discussion that this kind of thing starts with a nick in the side of the strap, that must somehow have been caused by the dog chewing and/or scratching. As part of our work to train our dog, we’ve been very aware of his overall behavior, especially when going for walks. He’s not a puppy and never actively scratched or bit at the harness to our knowledge but, of course, it’s not impossible that this might have happened once or twice. I do question, however, the value of a dog harness that is unable to stand up to that kind of treatment.RalphtheDog

My Luna is a 2yr old black lab-pitbull mix. She's husky, friendly, and a puller when she's on a lead. Having a harness that helps with the pulling is a blessing. She loves going on walks but will drag you down the sidewalk. Since using the easy walk harness regularly, she has much better behaved. The easy walk harness goes around her chest and back and has a leash attachment on the front. This no pull harness is great for any dog that you have pulling problems with. It allows you to walk your dog without worrying about pulling on a collar or harness with a top buckle. The harness is very easy to adjust and put on your dog. It has two snap buckles for easy release. The leash attachment is on the chest area where you walk your dog from. I purchased this for my 6 month old, 26lb rescue pup a few weeks ago to replace a different brand she outgrew. She loved her new harness and I admit that it appeared to be very comfortable. However, she pulled while we were walking yesterday and the straps snapped. She ran into the street, but thankfully no vehicles were nearby. The straps are flimsy and will not stand up to a quick pull. My pup is very petite, and I still can't believe how easily the straps ripped. I can't recommend this at all. We originally had a size small when Missie was heavier. Now that she’s a proper weight we needed the XS because she could slip out of the small. We wanted to stay with this one and couldn’t find anything we liked better, we didn’t want any straps rubbing on her skin. The XS is perfect! I've had this harness for maybe 4 months now and at first I loved it, besides the plastic loops…they make me nervous that they're going to snap because my dog is a puller. On our normal walks this harness has been fine because my dog does pull so she is almost always in front of me. Today we went to the park and she wrapped the leash around a pole and was able to very easily pull her way out of it. Thankfully there were no other dogs around and I was able to catch her within a few minutes but my dog is dog reactive so this would have been an absolute disaster if there were other dogs around. These harnesses worked in a pinch for us. We took our dogs camping with us and we wanted to make sure to keep them safe. Pros: It is easy to put the harnesses on and take them off. They are a light weight material which allows for fast drying and minimal weight on the dog. They utlilize the the over the shoulder Y design style which is the least likely to impede a dog's range of motion in the front legs. The color was listed as salmon red but is more of a burnt orange which is actually good because of how close it is to safety hunter orange. Cons: This harness utilizes plastic buckles that are light weight and don't hold up to rigorous use. We don't utilize the leash clip on the rear portion of the harnesses because it is not sturdy if the dog pulls and this harness is not designed to handle load bearing forces. The only measurement used for sizing is measuring around the dog's mid-section or "girth" (not a good representation of many dogs). The harness does not come down the back far enough. Overall: The only reason we bothered getting these is because the other ones we ordered we placed on back order from a company that does custom dog gear and we wanted to keep our dogs safe from hunters or other people. As a professional dog training and care company we would prefer to go with other options because we have a high standard for our personal dogs. If you are on a budget or need something quick to satisfy a safety risk by all means get these or something similar, we certainly did. No one piece of equipment is the best, they all have their pros and cons and each buyer has factors that influence their buying choices. I prefer these over other harnesses due to the free moving open shoulder design. Love how lightweight but sturdy they are. Would like to see a small handle added. There is some shifting while walking due to leash angle and the fact that in many small dogs, the neck straps just don't seem to fit perfectly. If it's Tight enough for their neck. you can't slip the harness over the dogs head and loose enough to do so is too loose on their neck and allows more shifting. My dogs aren't heavy pullers so these issues dont detract too much from the value of having a very lightweight but strong harness that is easy on and off.Cynthia R.

My 68 lb. golden/standard poodle mix Gibson and I are longtime Ruffwear fans and have had several of their products over the years. He measures 32" around the widest part of his chest, so he's right on the cusp of the M or L sizing. He has always been a Large in Ruffwear harnesses (the Front Range specifically), but I had to return the Large Hi & Light for a Medium as the straps around the neck were way too big, even tightened all the way! The Large harness gaped at the neck. I was super bummed! Thankfully Ruffwear returns are super quick and easy, so I received the Medium replacement quickly, and it fits well, although maybe a little short on his torso. It seems fine, and he seems comfortable, so I don't think it's a problem, but my mom said it looks silly on him (rude!), which made me question whether that's how it's supposed to fit. It does seem to fit a little shorter on his torso than the Front Range, which, again, he wears a size larger. I did also want to mention the larger sizing because the sizing tool states to take the larger size if between sizes, which Gibson is, and I found that due to the length of the neck straps, we actually needed to size down! Hope that's helpful. Gibson is kind of deep-chested and leggy but generally seems pretty well-proportioned. He's built more like a poodle than a golden, for reference. Overall, though, I adore the color, and I absolutely love how lightweight the material is! Gibson gets hot easily and living in the South, I want to keep him as comfortable as possible, so this is an excellent summer alternative to the Front Range. I love the option to clip the leash to the front of the harness, although I do wish the front clip wasn't made of fabric (metal would feel more secure). The only problem I have is that the harness twists on him when he pulls even the slightest bit, and I find myself adjusting it on him frequently. First, the best parts: This harness works great! Rufus (catahoula leopard hound/mix) does not pull AT ALL anymore and he seemed to "get the idea" all on his own with little to know training . . . it is almost as if being led from the front j ust instantly changed his mentality. I have always been able to walk Rosie (American foxhound) like a puppy on a string and sometimes almost had to pull her (laziest foxhound anywhere) so it is also nice with her to not be pulling her by the neck . . . she plods happily along. It's easy to adjust, easy to put on, easy to take off, looks very nice, holds up well, does not chafe. Here is where there is room for improvement: as noted in some other reviews, the sizing is off, but what I noticed is a bit different . . . both dogs measure very close to the middle for the size I ordered (medium) but all of the straps had to be adjusted to the tightest it would go in order to fit and it still seems a bit loose around the FRONT. I tried turning it upside down as noted by the company in response to some of the reviews, but it seemed to fit almost the same. So you may want to order a size smaller or call the company before ordering to be sure that it is going to fit. The other thing I am not fond of is that the buckles seem to be right at the armpits and that bothers me probably more than it bothers the dogs. However, here is another upside! When my (adult) son accidentally put the harness on the dog incorrectly, we found that it can also be used with the D-ring on the back instead of the front (at least on these breeds) and it works beautifully, so if you want the leash to attach to the dog's back rather than to the front, it's sort of a "bonus" use of the harness. Rosie (the easy walker) seems to prefer this Other than the sizing issue (which is probably also the issue with where the buckle falls), I LOVE this harness and it has truly "turned my dog around . . . The chest adjustment is at its loosest, but the chest/belly straps are almost maxed out on tightness, so I couldn't size up to make it better fit my 50lb lab/chow mix. The chest strap also slips down with extreme pulling, which fortunately for my pup isn't super frequent, but it has tripped him once. I think the instructions say that the chest straps should be tightened if this happens, but they also say that the harness should be a T shape, and if I tighten the chest strap, it definitely pulls behind his front legs. I think this is a decent harness, it's just not great for broader chested pups.kelmel

I bought this 2 weeks ago. My standard poodle puppy (8 months old) would jerk so hard on his leash when he saw another dog on our walks that I would practically get pulled off my feet. With ice on the sidewalks, I was afraid to take him for a walk. I went to Petco to buy a prong collar out of desperation. An employee who helps with their dog training described how this harness would be a better solution. This harness has worked like a miracle! My dog walks calmly by my side. If he starts to pull, the leash puts a bit of pressure on his chest, instead on my arm. It also turns him towards me slightly instead, and I redirect him with the “heel” command.” I wish I had known about this collar sooner. If you have a strong dog who pulls on the leash, try this. I have a pit/lab mix, and he hasn't been on many walks, even though he needs to to cut down a few extra lbs. I looked at the sizing chart, and he was right in between the 2 sizes, so I went with the bigger one because I wanted him to be comfortable. I dont know if size had anything to do with it, but I couldn't get it to lay flat on him. It comes with several adjustment spots, so I can make sure it fits him good. He seems to really like it, as compared to other harnesses we have used with him. The material is nice and padded, it seemed very comfortable for my dog. The leash attachment is also in a really good place to pull at his chest and not his neck. In the time using this, I have not noticed any issues with the zipper or with the quality. When we rescued our Westie/poodle mix, he had never walked on a leash and fought us to the point that we had to carry him a few blocks and then try to leash walk. This Stash and Dash harness is great. It is so easy to take off and on that Remy doesn't seem to notice. When I use the hook at the bottom of the harness he stops pulling and tugging. This is a great harness because it is breathable and doesn't make my dog too hot. It also packs up into a small package that can be attached to a bag by the included caliber clip. You can also pack snacks and a little food in the pouch while your pup is wearing it. It also has nice metal clips at the chest and the rear of the front of the harness under the pouch. I was searching a ton of sites looking for an Orange Hunting Harness, not realizing that Canada Pooch had the harness in the Mesh Series! It is perfect for my 11 month Boston Terrier Mix. I had been looking for a soft harness for our adopted senior English Cocker Spaniel, something that would give her totally freedom in her shoulders and not mat her lovely fur. Favorite things its super soft, flexible, washable, fits comfortably, stylish, does not mat her fur, not a step in harness, and allows her totally room to zoom with her shoulders. Cons it runs a tad bit small my lass is on the more petite side of English Cocker spaniels, at about 27 pounds I got her a medium and when adjusted it fits her quiet comfortably but if you Cocker was any larger say 30-35 lbs I would definitely get a large harness. I love the back leash clip haven't used the front clip as she is a lady on walks. That being said this is not super heavy duty so if you have a really strong puller I don't know if would hold up for a long time but my lass is gentle so I expect it to hold up very well. Also bonus its a nice car harness. Super happy with it and would buy another when we adopt a friend for Isabelle.Caroline

I was so excited to receive the harness – it seemed like a huge upgrade from the old one I bought from Tractor Supply that my dog was using. Well. It took twice as long as expected to arrive which is ridiculous when I paid for shipping. The shipping fees were refunded, but I had purchased the item with the intent to use it by a specific date which didn’t happen since it didn’t arrive until MUCH later. When it finally did show up the package was ripped almost completely open and the packaging of the product was all messed up which is also ridiculous. Alright it’s here, looks like **** but it’s here. It’s a much brighter blue than I expected which I like. It took a little while to figure out how to adjust as the ends were so firmly tucked into the harness I thought I was going to break it. Finally got it on and adjusted and “Meh”. It’s not deep enough (front to back) in my opinion, and my dog is not an odd or unusual shape. I do like that it covers less surface area, she appears to stay cooler (but a double coated black dog in the humid Midwest is always hot). It does sag when wet (which is almost always as she swims regularly) BUT it dries and goes back to the original fit which is a pro I guess. I say I guess because I didn’t expect a harness I paid over $80 to sag at all when wet but ‍♀ It doesn’t show any wear yet which it shouldn’t for only having it 2 weeks. It does shift like crazy. Not as bad as the cheap tractor supply one, but again I expected ZERO shifting from the $80+ harness. Honestly I probably won’t buy again. I was super excited to find a harness with everything I wanted: reflectors (which the ones on this harness ****, seriously for $80 y’all couldn’t put reflective piping on all edges?!), a handle on the back, bright blue, goes over the head/ NOT a step through and had a back leash clip. But honestly I’m pretty disappointed. There is a lot of room for improvement in what I consider an expensive harness (more reflective piping, padding under the middle set of buckles, better fit, better choice of shipping carriers). I’m not going to get rid of it and it does fit better than the Tractor Supply but I don’t absolutely love it like I hoped.Seva P.

My girl discovered early on that she can back out of her harness in a heartbeat. She can't back out of the Flagline harness (yay!) and – more importantly – if needed, I can pull on the leash / harness without fear of hurting her. (There have been a couple times when we've encountered dogs who are too friendly — having the Flagline harness on my girl made it much easier to pull her back to a safe distance without fear of hurting her or having the harness pop off at a bad time.) The harness is easy to put on / take off. It's strong. The reflective trim helps make her more visible. The adjustable straps make it easy to size up during the winter time when she's got winter coat(s) to accommodate. Having clips for closure is so much nicer than harnesses with velcro closures. (Velcro closure doesn't last long – and trying to wash anything with velcro – oy veh!) The price was a little more than I thought I'd spend for a harness – but having a harness I can trust and that will last is worth every penny. 100% recommend!Karen G.

The harness is super adjustable and fits my pups barrel chest so well! We wanted the waist clip as the single rib clip always slipped off or got loose and it wasn’t enough security for us. We also really love the handles! The front loop works super well to mitigate some pulling (pups only 8 months old) and my favorite feature is the inner material that rests on his body, it’s not mesh or fabric that his short coat sticks into so his hair isn’t being rubbed off or sticking in the harness getting stuck in cracks and making it itchy or difficult to clean. This harness is also super easy to wash and I really love the hardy materials on this harness. Wish it came in orange but the grey works just as well on our pup! This harness just fits Róka so well and I’m so pleased with it!!!! It fits and contours to his whole body and moves with him when he’s moving around! Measured my dogs chest and ordered exact size. Way too small and it’s not at all adjustable. If it did fit seems like it probably would be comfortableKim

I purchased this for my daughters new dog. It is a great item, well made and looks the part…..however…… Please note this particular harness does come up smaller than expected. I ordered Medium, they sent Small! Having seen the size of the Small I decided to order Large. This fitted perfectly with room for adjusting as he is still growing. I purchased a full matching set of Barbour products for my pooch. They are attractive, hard wearing and easy to use. I think they are excellent value for money when compared to other brands that I have purchased in the past. I wish I had found Barbour pet products before.Alison T.

Bought this for an English Springer, after a few days tartan material started coming away from braiding round sides. Would not recommend as the tartan material is very poor quality and stitching is nit secure.Tazibugs

This is a great harness. My younger chihuahua, Ruby, has always been extremely difficult to get a harness for. She weighs about 6.5 pounds and is an escape artist. This harness fit her snugly, but not too tight and kept her from escaping.Scarlett

I have a shih tzu with a rather large neck and have tried several harnesses and couldn't find one that would not choke her. This harness is made from breathable mesh, is adjustable, has a reflective ribbon for nighttime use, and extra stitching for added security. I paired it with the Youly bohemian leash and not only is it super cute but very well made and comfortable for my pup.S Patin
