It's a good size, but the instruction that came with it wasn't helpful at all. I ended using zip ties to secure the fence section alongside the door latch. The rubber rolls that came with it were quite useless. My pup could easily get them off. I recommend you purchase the life touch one instead.K

I love everything about this dog pen, except that one of the panels was missing the upper hinge. I did not want the hassle and wastefulness of returning the entire large and heavy item. I tried to see if I could just get a single replacement panel, but I don't know how to do that. I guess I will just keep it and only use 7 of the panels *Sigh* (If anyone can get a single panel replacement – please let me know!) The raised gate is perfect for not rubbing on the floor and scratching it up. the panels are not too heavy I could construct the pen easily. I love that there are different shapes that you can make with the panels, depending on your space available. If I could give zero stars I would. It has rusted so badly HUGE FLAKES fall off of it. Not only is it now unattractive I worry about the health of my dog. I have used this to host puppy playdates over 2 years. Cannot be happier with purchase. My front yard is not completely fenced; There was a need to fence off, but not permanently as we use front yard for other purposes. Fences are flexible, can be set up in any figures as needed. Once I figure out where to put fences, it takes 10 mins to set up, 10 mins to take down. I initially bought 2 sets, and neighbors and friends praised, and we had so many puppy visitors. That led me to buy 1 more set so the playpen could be bigger. Despite I have 3x sets, once taken down, they store nicely in small tight space on the side of house. Each set comes with 1 panel with a door. Since I have 3x sets, I have 3x panels with door. I set up door fences on three sides of yard for convenience. Summer days, we had playpen every evening. Throughout year, we hosted playpen for every possible occasions; puppy birthday, anniversary, holidays, new puppy debut… We initially worried that some dogs might jump out and run away, but that never happened. Dogs are capable, but wanted to stay inside for fun. We actually had dogs jump in. If you need to just hold puppies around 1 – 3 months, you could buy 1 set. But, if you are planning any meaningful puppy playdate, you will need minimum 2 sets, most likely 3or 4. I like Midwest products as the metal seems to be stronger and last longer than other brands. I have the original ex-pen I bought around 1995 – it's survived 50+ large dogs. I prefer them to crates as the dogs have more room to move around, yet they are easily configured to a smaller shape when potty training. They easier to clean than crates. They fold flat and I can store them next to a fridge or behind a furnace. They work indoors/out and are great mobile containment. For dogs living in fenceless areas (condos) ex-pens can be linked using carabiners/bolt snaps (i.e., dog leash clips) for fencing moveable for mowing/snow removal. They are great for patio surrounds. You can buy metal tops for if a dog needs more containment, but most won't if using a tall enough ex-pen. I've also bought just the metal or plastic crate pans to put under the ex-pen if needed. To keep the ex-pen from falling or being moved if I have a rambunctious pup I bungee the corners to furniture or door knobs.HannahB

My dogs are pretty respectful of fences, so I didn't need anything heavy duty. It isn't clear from the picture nor the description, but there is a door. I have it upside down on purpose so that I can walk through instead of crawl through the opening. My wife and I purchased this affordable product as a way to curtail a new litter of kittens before they became active and began exploring their new world. The package arrived quickly and essentially there was no assembly required. The only minor modification we had to undertake was adding a six inch piece of cardboard to the bottom by using tie-wraps to prevent the small kittens from sticking their heads through the 4” gaps of the fencing. I've been trying to find something for my indoor rabbits instead of several cages so they have more room to run and play when there not out of there cage for free time and I've absolutely found the perfect cage! My rabbits are so much happier since I received this o had to do a little bit of adjusting due to the play pen being a little flimsy meaning easy to tip over but all I did was insert a few screws into the bottom screwing it to my floor and BOOM perfect! It's completely stable now and it gives my indoor rabbits so much room to run when there caged now I only use my cages when one has a litter or needs sperated from the others I recently had to add an old crib bumper pad to the bottom because I added the new litters of baby bunnies inside the play pen and found out they fit through the little squares lol once there a little bigger I can remove that even! I've seen alot of people are using these for large dogs and getting upset because they can climb out well of course they can I definitely don't recommend this for large dogs or small dogs because of the design they can crawl right up the lines in the play pen and escape but for me this is perfect for all of my rabbits and plenty room for how quickly they multiply which I wasn't aware of lol but surely am now!Dmosser172

Got it when it was 20 bucks cheaper. But it came early and was easy to set up. Reason for purchase is becuase I will be out of state for the summer and the person whom will be babysitting doesnt want her on the sofa and using the bathroom on the floor. So I needed a easy to access playpen so they can change pad and give food. I so happen to come across this one. Was supper easy to assemble. It bigget than I expected. Lilly went in as soon as I placed her stuff in there. Playpen is bery sturdy as well. Lilly was jumping and bumping into the gate and it didnt move. Would recommend.Domonique
I have two mischievous dogs who love to get in to trouble while I’m at work. So much so that I decided to get them this play pen. I have to say I love love love this doggy pen. My lil Roxyroo had puppies. Since my dog is only 9lbs, this was the perfect size for her and the puppies. Strong construction, easy to put together. The door works well when Roxy wanted out of the pen, without having to lift her out. The puppies were able to roll around, without getting out. This 4 panel pet playpen is wonderful. I love everything about this dog pen, except that one of the panels was missing the upper hinge. I did not want the hassle and wastefulness of returning the entire large and heavy item. I tried to see if I could just get a single replacement panel, but I don't know how to do that. I guess I will just keep it and only use 7 of the panels *Sigh* (If anyone can get a single panel replacement – please let me know!) The raised gate is perfect for not rubbing on the floor and scratching it up. the panels are not too heavy I could construct the pen easily. I love that there are different shapes that you can make with the panels, depending on your space available. The height and sturdiness of the panels is just right for a medium to medium large dog.Barbara
If I could give zero stars I would. It has rusted so badly HUGE FLAKES fall off of it. Not only is it now unattractive I worry about the health of my dog. The rust is merely from getting wet from his water bowl and a squirt bottle. I’ve had this LESS by THAN 90 days and they are telling me they will not do anything about it because it’s past the 90 day return window! IT IS NOT. I have used this to host puppy playdates over 2 years. Cannot be happier with purchase. My front yard is not completely fenced; There was a need to fence off, but not permanently as we use front yard for other purposes. Fences are flexible, can be set up in any figures as needed. Once I figure out where to put fences, it takes 10 mins to set up, 10 mins to take down. I initially bought 2 sets, and neighbors and friends praised, and we had so many puppy visitors. That led me to buy 1 more set so the playpen could be bigger. Despite I have 3x sets, once taken down, they store nicely in small tight space on the side of house. Each set comes with 1 panel with a door. Since I have 3x sets, I have 3x panels with door. I set up door fences on three sides of yard for convenience. Summer days, we had playpen every evening. Throughout year, we hosted playpen for every possible occasions; puppy birthday, anniversary, holidays, new puppy debut… We initially worried that some dogs might jump out and run away, but that never happened. Dogs are capable, but wanted to stay inside for fun. We actually had dogs jump in. If you need to just hold puppies around 1 – 3 months, you could buy 1 set. But, if you are planning any meaningful puppy playdate, you will need minimum 2 sets, most likely 3or 4. Wish it came in a larger diameter, but I think the 38 will work for now. The puppy will only be about 4 pounds when I get her but will grow to be 8-10 pounds, so the pen should give her enough room to play until she is trained. I also like that it has a zippered top that can be taken off while inside or zipped on if outside because she is small enough to become prey to hawk, owls, or coyotes. Also like the pockets, the tote bag, and the fact that it is so light weight.
I purchased the play pen for my 10 week old chihuahua. I am pleased that it gives him plenty of space for a bed, a potty pad, a wooden table for food and water, and still plenty of space for him to play with toys. I am using the play pen when I need to be gone for any amount of time. I also purchased a crate at our local store for him to use at night. He seems to like being in the play pen. I know my cat appreciates having the house to herself when he is in it. The two are still working on sharing a home and myself. They are doing well considering it has only been 10 days. I feel that any breed that is bigger then a toy/miniature would be better in a bigger,sturdier enclosure. I think that this would also work for cats/kittens while house training. I am looking forward to fall and being able to move it back and forth from inside and outside. It will provide a safe place so he is able to enjoy spending time outdoors and getting fresh air. I bought the pink one for my 3 month old American cocker spaniel and it was definitely not a good choice. It's cute and the color is nice but it's too easy for the sides to cave in and if your dog or cat is super crazy, they can actually move this around the floor like a hamster ball. This is probably fine for small, inactive puppies, dogs, kittens or cats. It's spacious enough for a sedentary furry friend. My hyperactive little terror sunk her teeth into the mesh sides and started pulling it apart. She also figured out how to unzip it. I would not recommend it.kejean12

do NOT use for kittens. i brought one for my kitten and he's now known as the escaping. he climbed and jumped over the gate. when i fixed that, he twisted his head and got through one of the holes. i fixed that as well and he's still somehow getting out. if you are wondering how i "fixed" that, i used mesh wiring. this product probably works great with dogs, but cats are a different story.uzziah

This is a perfect size to put your small dog or puppy for exercise and poop runs. I have a mini pug puppy and needed a safe place to put her so she can run around and learn to poop for now on the pads. She's too small for outside. I love it. You can also use it to block off areas once they get bigger. I think this would work for up to 30 lb puppy or small dog. Very sturdy.AngelaPriddy
Light weight but sturdy. Nice door that latches securely. Great to temporarily confine our two small dogs while RV'ing. Note the 4 panels will not collapse onto each other without removing the corner pegs but it WILL fold to "two panels" in length. Will likely purchase two extra panels. This replaced a metal pen that was too heavy and we are pleased. Dogs don't stay in here for long though as it's lightweight and may move easily.LulasMom
