This review is written 6 months after purchase. It’s very stable and holding up like a charm. I’ve stood on the stairs and main part; it held my weight (130 lbs) and wasn’t wobbly. It was extremely easy to put together. Plan on an hour give or take. Personally I didn’t like the stair pads that were included. They’re scratchy and slide a little bit on the stairs. Instead I bought two bath mats with rubber backs. One for the stairs and one for the main sleeping part. This keeps it secure when she runs up and down. If you’re worried about your dog being scared of it, don’t be. Mine hated it at first and all it took was a week or so of yummy treats to encourage her. Now she sleeps up there all day while I wfh. I recommend this product, but with the bath mat modification for safety.Lucy

It's a beautiful bed and seems to be quite sturdy. My grandson loves climbing the stairs up to his bed. He has lots of room for all his plushies. The rails on his level are high which I love. I dont want to have to worry about him rolling off. The only issue we had is that it's not an easy task putting it together. The directions are quite difficult to follow, and one of the boards had holes that didnt match where they were supposed to and additional holes had to be cut in order to fit. I don't think you can ever put them back in their boxes and return. They are super heavy. I think they are heavier than 283 lbs as stated. The parts were labeled wrong. All 6 holes on the flat piece in the back of the staircase were drilled in wrong places. My husband had to drill new holes to make it worked. There were 2 dings on the wood. The 2 drawers had rollers but no rail to guide them and there was 2 inches gap between them so every time you pull them out and push them back, they move and do not stay put. I emailed the seller wanting to return the drawers but no responses after 1 week. It was $40 cheaper compare to other website but you need to prepare yourself that you will have no support form customer service if something wrong with the products.Noname

At first I was so excited to set up these bunk beds for our twin girls, then I started to realize there weren’t just 1 Or 2 flaws but 4 and 2 being more than just a scrape or nic in the wood. It’s not until my husband was putting it together and noticed what looked to be wet chipping paint on the top of the ladder to get to the top bunk, I came to check it out and touched it and it got my fingers completely white and covered, I have pictures as well of each issue, and it has such a strong smell that I don’t even want my girls near it until we figure out what it is and why this happened, it seems to strange to me that this would even be an issue we would have to deal with, along with a huge piece of wood under the top bunk so whoever would be on the bottom bunk could easily get a nice injury to their hand or arm depending if they go anywhere near it, which is very easy to locate and see clear as day, it is completely warped wood. The other 2 issues were With chipping paint and dents to areas which unfortunately are not hidden. This was a horrible experience. Pieces fell apart as soon as they came out the box. Pieces weren't labeled properly or at all in some cases. Holes weren't lined up properly so we had to drill them ourselves. We put the entire bed together before we found out the side rail and ladder were missing. Called Bed Bath & Beyond they filed a claim for us and told me it would take 7 days to get. It ended up taking 2 weeks but that was attributed to the weather so I can't fault anyone on that. Finally got the missing pieces and the side rails went up without much of a problem aside from having to drill a hole. The final piece was the ladder and that was a real piece of work. You only have 2 inches of space to work with since the slats are in and if you have big hands like I do then clear your schedule cuz you're gonna be there a while. Horrible experience but once it's done it looks great and my girls are happy even tho I still want my money back.Dad

My husband put the bunk beds & trundle together himself, he needed my help in moving the bed and stairs, as it is very sturdy and in his words, it's built like a tank…. and heavy as one too. All of the parts are well labeled which makes assembly much easier. . . The only thing that would have finished it off completely are some white caps or buttons to place into the holes of the sunk-in screws. I may not notice them as much after the mattresses are on and the beds are made. I'm sure that's something I can find at a hardware store. . . I'm looking forward to our grandchildren using the bunk beds for years to come.reneinga
This product is 99% solid wood components with a really nice paint finish on it. Almost a lacquer it seems. Even the surfaces not immediately visible like the insides of drawers, etc have a thin but uniform coat on them which is a nice touch. Although there's a lot of components the instructions are easy to follow and within a few hours everything comes together. . . A note about my experience. In error I was shipped an incorrect box which included items for a whole other bunk rather than box 2 of 2 for the stair kit. While it was disrupting a gentleman named Gabe at Bedz King quickly shipped me the correct box and a return label for the incorrect one. The customer service was excellent. . . This bed is perfect for my two daughters. The bed arrived in two large boxes. Based off complaints that I read on other reviews I was concerned that there would be scratches and broken pieces when I unboxed the bed. That wasn’t the case at all. There were no scratches on any of the pieces and there were no broken pieces. The bed took a little under two hours to assemble. The pictures on the website accurately reflect how it looks once it is setup. I would recommend buying this bunk bed and would buy it again.Roy
One drawer support bar fell apart in two months and we quickly fixed it, now less than 6 months into the purchase the front plate on the same drawer completely ripped off. This drawer is not full of heavy gym equipment, just baby clothes. Now it is an ugly, rickety, bed with with a unusable drawer. The manufacture will not cover it and neither will walmart. So, I you get what you pay for with this one. Only positive would be that it looks nice minus the giant gold warning hazard sticker they put right on the from that you can't peel off.JG

First of all, Hayneedle has been great. With that said, I would NEVER purchase this bed or anything from this company again. To begin, we were missing hardware from 3 separate components, including all of the hardware for the steps/bookcase. After waiting an additional week for hardware, we started putting the steps together, only to find that on the second step the holes were predrilled 2 1/2" too long, and would not match up. The solution? Either disassemble the entire bed and return or take a discount & deal with the messed up step! Extremely frustrating! Hayneedle customer service was great, however I would not recommend anything from atlantic furniture.Angela
