I would not choose another brand or style by the same manufacturer because it performs just as I need. My only suggestions are that the crate has a 4 door option and that the tray can be optionally removed from the side. My only complaint is that the instructions to set up the crate were not clear. We bought a larger crate 6 months ago that housed 3 small dogs and 2 cats for 3 days while we drove across country. The medium size I got was a lot bigger than I thought which is a wonderful surprise. I’ve split it into 2 and the double doors make it possible. I am currently training my little pup to use the other side as a bathroom as he weathers his first Chicago winter. Love it! And the great thing is the large window on the side is able to be tucked in the top to keep one side always open. The other smaller door doesn’t tuck on the top but that doesn’t bother me because that door is against the wall and not an issue at all. Quality seems great. Have had it for a few weeks and I love it. And so does my lil 10lb pup in his medium crate (but it’s large for him!). I love Petco. So sorry I can’t give this kennel a 5 star rating. Love the style. Purchased “large” size for 40 pound female lab/hound mix, 17 months young; fit perfectly (even 75 pound male “cousin” slept curled up a couple of times, for novelty). She’s not perfectly kennel/crate trained. Visiting our daughter & didn’t want dog to run around unsupervised. 1st time used kennel successfully for a few hours. 2nd time unfortunately used a lot longer. She was observed on camera chewing/pulling on rear end and pushing way out of bottom (latched) small front door. She got minor abrasions on cheek and paw; was a TIGHT SQUEEZE out. MOST UNFORTUNATE! Ughhhh; other purchasers had reported wire weaknesses, but I truly wanted to believe that my dog wouldn’t be strong enough. I will talk to customer service now. We have a growing 7 month-old newfypoo so needed to upgrade our crate to a larger size. I chose this crate for 2 specific reasons: #1, the height and #2, the top-folding door on the side of the crate. My newfypoo needed the additional height so he isn't hunched over if he's sitting up. The height on this size has given him an inch or two of extra clearance and should still work when he's done growing. For the 2nd point, I LOVE the top-folding side door. Because of where we keep the crate, we only use the side door and it has been awesome not having to walk around a door that opens to the side and is in the way of the main flow of traffic. Even though the crate is noticeably bigger than our old one, it feels like it takes up the same amount of space because of that door. I can't speak highly enough of it. For more practical items, the crate is very sturdy and well made. There were no problems with shipping and other than needing a little muscle, the crate went together very easily. My newfypoo isn't one that will try to escape from a crate, so I can't speak to that, but I have been very impressed with the quality of this crate and how easy it was to get my big-little puppy used to it. The crate had obviously been used and returned. The metal was rusted in places and the plastic bottom tray was dirty. When I decided to return it, It was a challenge to get it back in the box. When I took it back to the store, I asked about a discount and received 15% off (the tax). I had previously bought one that was marked down by 50% because the box was damaged. I was quite disappointed in the whole experience. Apparently the merchandise was supposed to be checked if the box was damaged and that wasn’t done in this case.Janice
I've owned dogs for the last 40 years. I've used MidWest wire crates for my last 4 dogs. This iCrate didn't disappoint. It's sturdy and and easy to put up and take down. I use them when I travel with my dogs too. My dogs only use their crates for sleeping in at night or napping in during the day. During the day, their crate doors are left open. I close the dogs in at night. I don't have an issue with my dogs trying to escape from their crates, so I can't speak to whether or not this would be sturdy enough for a dog that's determined to get out of their crate. These crates are more than sturdy enough for my miniature Schnauzer, Havanese, and Wirehaired Pointing Griffon. All three of my dogs love their MidWest iCrates, as did my previous dog! They go in them voluntarily and when told to "crate up". My only concern with the current crate I ordered is that that one of the latches isn't lined up quite right so it's a bit tight when closing the crate door. I bent it slightly and it works much better. I haven't had that issue with any of the previous MidWest crates I've used. I'm a MidWest crate fan.Eddie09
We bought this in April 2022 for our Rhodesian Ridgeback mix puppy. He was weeks old when we rescued him. He was a Parvo pup and barely survived, so rest and his own quiet space was highly recommended for recovery. We first used the divider which was great. However, as he grew, so did his strength. It definitely is not strong enough for large dogs. Even for short amounts of time. At the moment he is 6 months and 60 pounds. Thankfully he did not get out nor hurt himself! It does promote licking because that’s how your dog can reach his snack and it does calm them and it’s great that it goes in the crate but eventually when the spread or popsicle or whatever it is getting low a dog will chew because dogs are chewers. It’s not really that big of a deal you just have to supervise your pup and remove it. The really big issue with it is cleaning. I literally have to run boiling hot water over it and use a teeny little wire brush to get all the food off and then I run it through the dishwasher. That’s why it gets four stars.Angela K.

We purchased this to replace smaller older crates for our Bernese Mountain Dog. Having two doors is a definate plus for crates this size. The doors are unique in that they have a duel latching system. The doors are lifted before opening and the slide latch provides extra security. It is sturdy, easily assembled. While the one that shipped arrived damaged a trip to the local store provided a replacement and with minor inconvenience our pup's new home was setup and ready in very short order. Our retriever puppy inherited our previous dog’s crate but quickly outgrew it. After shopping around and reading dozens of reviews we decided to go to Petco and take a look at this 43” crate. We purchased it on the spot. It assembled in just a few seconds and it feels strong and secure. We like the multiple “catches” that secure the doors, as our older crate did not have that feature. Sturdy and I like the double locking system. The doors have to be lifted to set in place for the bolt to slide into place. We paid special attention to the bolt shape when shopping for a crate since GSDs are extremely intelligent. The bolt is L shaped instead of a straight bar, making it more difficult for our pup to open the door when locked. The divider is very handy and works well even though wire doesn’t line up exactly due to the side door. The lip at the bottom of the crate is a bit taller than other crates and my puppy tripped over it sometimes when she was under 3 months old, clumsy and overly excited running into her crate. Now that she is more coordinated she no longer trips over the lip. We purchased the XXL 49” crate for our GSD pup with the divider so she’ll have plenty of room when she’s full grown. Overall great crate but could’ve been perfect with a few minor adjustments.Elle223

I would like to think this item is working well, but it's hard to tell to be honest. I have placed this item under a crate pad in our crate to keep it smelling more fresh. When the top crate pad needs a wash, I throw this in with it and clean both. It comes out the wash looking just like new.

It is made better than the original crate pan, however, getting the proper width was a problem. I set the pan inside the old pan or else there would be too much of a gap that my dog could get hurt. I actually bought these as litter-catching trays to go under the cat boxes. I have an old cat who sometimes misses and even when he doesn't, he has a habit of tracking litter everywhere. I've been looking for a large, flat shallow tray to go under the box and these are perfect. I bought the medium-sized tray. I was expecting cheap-ish plastic but these are more rubberized and much better quality than I expected. Very happy with them. I'm sure they'd work great in crates as well.Elissa
I bought this as a replacement due to my original one cracking. It seems to be holding up really well. The only downside to this product is the fact that I bought the wrong size. First a foremost, I was really upset that I had to shell out over a hundred bucks for a dog cage. But since we have a brute escape artist that kept destroying her old kennel and hurting herself during the process. With this kennel, it has stopped all escapes, no signs of giving or stress. She's made it her home even when she doesn't need to be there.it comes with removable caster wheels for easy relocation, or take them off and leave it stationary while cutting a few inches off the overall height,The door is easily removable and attaches back on in a matter of a few seconds. We were worried about the meshed ground and her getting her toes caught in it, but I comes with a removable tray that's meant for the bottom, but we placed it over and that's her floor. The tree is just a tad under 5 foot. Not a problem for our little living room. The LED lights can be very bright–but you can unplug the LED lights! It still has 8 different light mod's even with the LED's unpluged. The longer branches on the bottom will not hold heavy ornaments. Light weight ornaments and garland is fine. It really is pretty even with out ornaments. The fiber optics make it a very colorful tree, even in the day time. The LED's are to brite for our liking. Not a problem for us we just unpluged them! Hey it's a 60 dollar tree. We are happy with it. You will have to fold down all of the branches they are not hinged like some of the higher dollar trees. It filled out nice! I would recommend it. It is a nice piece of furniture and can blend into your home. The latch works very nicely. Haven't tried it as a gate yet. It went together very easily. I really wanted a size small, but settled for a medium because we were desperate and our dog likes to see everything, so the openness of it works out well for her. I was disappointed that it came with two small scratches on the wood. The small plastic tabs that cover the screws on the inside of the cage fall off. This item was delivered as promised. It was packed to protect the cherry finish, however, the were finish imperfections most likely due to poor handling of the product. When putting this item together (an easy process) we discovered that the wrong hardware had been installed at the bottom of one of the sides and the door opening. No excuse for this error and that's why the 1 star rating. We are returning this item which means we have to disassemble the item and box it to ship back to the supplier for a refund. Since this is a pain in the (you know where) the 1 star also reflects this process. One other item was sending pictures to the manufacturer to show the problem with the wrong hardware having been installed. They were very nice and helpful….but it took time to make the calls, send a picture…send emails and so on. In other words, another pain in the( you know where). We very much liked the looks of this item and the finish goes with our furnishings well. But……this is a classic example of ……" not doing it right the first time"…….therefore, I recommend the several companies we dealt with go to Quality Management School……James

Wondering if we were sold a used unit. Missing 3 of the 4 rubber feet the one was already attached. Video shows they shoukd be in a bag and how to install. All 4 corner top supports were there 2 were in plastic bag that was ripped open previously and other 2 were in bottom of crate. Looks like part of the paint was worn off on the corners were the supports go. One of the sliding doors squeals as you slide it closed. Couldn't return it as we sold our previous crate already. The packaging of this item was very good. There is a plastic tray in the bottom of the cage, but it is well protected in the box. I took out the crate and it was all one piece, except for the divider. I laid it on the floor and unlatched the obvious clips that were holding the crate in a flat position. There are instructions that come with this crate, but it was so easy to figure out how to fasten the sides, I did not need them. I did review the instructions after and they are very easy to follow and understand. The crate wiring is very sturdy. I have a 45 lb Springer Spaniel and he has no chance of bending the wiring. The latches will not shake open. They fold over and my dog would have to be a magician to open them. There are two entry points. On large area on the lengthy side. And a slider set of doors on the wide side. Both sides have the same type of latches. The tray is very sturdy plastic and can be cleaned very easily. The crate comes with a divider. It is made of the same wiring material. Very sturdy. I only have one dog, so I won't be using it. But it is easy to install. The weight of the crate is not too bad. It comes with a handle on top, but the width of the crate is a bit large to be carrying around far. It is mainly used for repositioning. You won't pick up the crate with your pet inside. But it makes it easy for lifting into my van without my dog inside. I cannot think of any really bad things about this crate. It is a very quality item. Very easy to use. Very easy to fold and stow away when not in use. All in one piece. To get my dog used to using it, I put some treats in the crate. He went right in and was checking it out. Springers love to be in a cave, so I put a blanket over the top and he enjoys his privacy 🙂Charlie
I really like my Lucky Dog Sliding Door Dog Crate. I am disabled so I thought I would have to have someone help me assemble it. But the hardest thing about putting it together was getting it out of the box. Once it was out, it literally took me less than a minute and that was without instructions. It was so easy to see what needed to be done: lift one wall, lift the ceiling and the other wall falls into place. One end has a door with three lift and slide type handles. You can use one, two, or all three. And the front has the sliding door which is nice for a larger animal or for putting the bed in, etc. There is a heavy duty plastic bottom so you don’t have to worry about puppy accidents. There are also plastic sleeves to go on four corners on the bottom to keep it from being fully in contact with the floor, so there’s air flow underneath. This would also protect the floor in the case of the crate moving during use. They also included four corner protectors so that you don’t bang into a sharp edge and injure yourself or damage something. Good thinking. And a really nice feature is the wire wall that locks into place if desired, making the crate a haven for 2 animals or a smaller space for a smaller dog- for instance a puppy that would be overwhelmed by such a large crate now but would need every inch of it later. No need to buy 2 crates- just insert the divider wall now and remove it when the dog has grown enough to use the space. And if I don’t need to use the crate or I need to store it, it folds flat just as it came. Brilliant! I’m sold on this crate! Only downfall is my dog is exposed to whatever is going on around him so I would have preferred to have had this to begin with. I bought this item knowing that it was not going to be as sturdy as some of the other options. The price reflects the quality of the material and that must be considered for the review. I do not have an issue with my dog chewing on the crate, trying to escape, or anything of that manner, so to spend double this price for a higher quality one couldn't be justified in my mind. I simply needed a larger crate for him to sleep in at night so he doesn't jump on me while I am in bed. I bought this knowing that it would only be used for 7-8 months (while I am pregnant) and that it would be rarely used after that time frame. The order came in a reason time frame. It was simple to put together. I do suggest using a blanket or something on the bottom to avoid excess noise due to claws. It serves it's purpose and was easy on my wallet. It does have a divider for multiple dogs, but we do not need that. Both doors (front and side) work correctly. I would suggest this to anyone looking for a standard, budget friendly cage. We bought the 36 inch long one and it works well for our black lab. He has enough room to stand up, walk in a circle to re-position himself, and can stretch his legs out while laying sideways.JackieR
The metal is well constructed and the two doors are really convenient. The plastic carrying handle is frail and I don't think would last long under a heavy load. The plastic tray seems a little too thin but adequate. Supplied are rubber feet in the form of rubber tubing cut to about 1.5 inches long and split lenghtwise and are simply placed at the corners over the wire on the bottom of the cage. As I was assembling them on my carpet, they kept sliding off so they would not stay long under real conditions. I simply wrapped them in electrical tape and they now stay on.Mike
I received the kennel and took it out to place it in my car. Much to my dismay after going through all that trouble, I noticed this had to have been a return which was not inspected. The bottom front, outer leg had ben bent significantly with a pliers or such, you could see the teeth marks and the vinyl coating was off. Needless to say, the other side was pulled out of alignment and the floor tray was broken. Not a happy camper! Returned it to Walmart and to my dismay once again, they did not carry this particular cage in the store!! The ones they carried in store were twice the price!! I had to reorder and now am awaiting to see what the next one will present.Unhappy

I just received this cage and the pan is broken, the bottom of the cage is bent. Wrote to the company as i want to return it and not sure i want a replacement ,it is really poorly made. Wish i could return it to Walmart ( my mistake i shouldve read more carefully )Now it looks like i'll have to pay to return. Would never buy from them again. I have bought several crates, several different brands. I prefer the single latch, this crate is very well made. However the I crate is heavier. I have french bulldogs and like both brands. The tray is very good quality and the door opening is a little undersized but not bad. Overall I would buy this crate again. It is lighter weight and very portable. Happy with this crate.573ranch
I returned this because I didn't realize it had a metal tray and I thought it would rust and be chilly for a puppy we have coming. (It's winter time as I write this review.) Also I didn't find the handle that's mentioned. I would say the quality is medium by today's standards which let's face it are crappy. The gauge on this would be fine for a smaller dogs like Westies, Mini Schnauzers, Mini Poodles. The door hooks have a curve at the end which would make them secure.
