This is an excellent product with the best ingredients to heal (not just treat) intestinal lining problems. My girl has a bad case of IBS and was constantly crying and in horrible pain even after I put her on an organic home made diet. I bought the power version and for 3 weeks I mixed it in with her wet food as directed and did NOT do anything. Her 24×7 pain was excruciating for her and for me so I did not give up. After doing a lot of research, I realized that similar 'human' products for the same problems suppose to be given 30 minutes before meals. My Bichon has inflammatory bowel disease which has caused loose stools sometimes with blood. I tried changing her food, but she still had bouts of it. Slippery elm helps heal the gut lining from gluten. Gluten is in wheat/barley/rye..oats/corn/rice. Rice is low in gluten. Wild rice has no gluten…is a grass. Gluten/Xanthan gum/carrageenan can hurt the gut lining so less nutrients absorb. The dog got all three in a canned food which greatly hurt him and he was eating grass. The product works great, however read this carefully to determine the quantity to order, the website is misleading. The manufacturer sells the product in 1 gram (small dog), 2 gram (medium dog), and 4 gram (large dog) sizes. Each package contains 3 packets to be given over 3 days. In order to get the correct amount for your dog's weight, you may need to order more than one package. According to the manufacturers instructions, you need to administer one gram of product (daily) for every ten pounds of animal weight. So, up to: 10 lbs = 1 gram; 20 lbs = 2 grams; 30 lbs = 3 grams; 40 lbs = 4 grams; 50 lbs = 5 grams; 60 lbs = 6 grams, etc. So, if your dog weighs 11 to 20 lbs, you need to order a 2 gram (medium dog) size and give him 1 packet per day for 3 days. But if your dog weighs 21-30 lbs, you need to order a 1 gram (small dog) AND a 2 gram (medium dog) package, and give your dog a packet from each size for 3 days. The product is a powder; many dogs will not eat it on dry food, so if you usually feed your dog dry food, mix it in with some wet dogfood and most dogs will chow it down. A puppy was pretty much dropped in my lap several days ago, her belly was SO bloated as she hadn't had any vet care prior. Before even getting her home I pondered the wormers at our local Petco, selected this one. On day 3 the worms came out, though her poor bloated belly was reduced after the first day. Will use this again if worming can't wait for the vet. Due to her weight we did have to weigh out the medicine (half a gram ='s 1/4 teaspoon), and you must have an accurate weight on the dog and an accurate measuring device for it to be as effective as it can be without giving too much. When i lost my beloved Tig, i then adopted 3 boy cats. For 3 weeks it was absolutely nuts in my house, and i felt i was babysitting the litter boxes because all 3 boys had the runs. She's a beautiful, petite little 2 year old that is so incredibly loving. We bonded right away. But the chronic diarrhea was really hard to put up with. She would have trouble making it to the littter box in time and track it all over the house, etc. Her stool consistency was pure liquid, and I know she wasn't happy either. My cat Zeppole has had issues pooping since I got him. I have been putting little pumpkin and Miralax in his food and no more dry food for him. I was excited to try this Loose Stool Remedy Gel 15 Firm Fast for the dog when he has some issues but I didn’t feel like it was his favorite thing. Here’s what I liked and disliked. Stool Fix is an excellent product! However, we recently welcomed our second Maine Coon into her new home and I was using Stool Fix ever so lightly mixing it into her dry food. I am pleased with Naturvet Digestive Enzymes, and, more importantly, so is our Maltese! She has a sensitive digestive system, and these chews have done wonders to stabilize it. I also heartily recommend following the advice not to leave them accessible. We mix water with our Maltese' prescription food and dump it into her slow-food bowl (she is an EAGER eater). My puppy had an ongoing problem with soft stools. I was getting up 2-3 times per night to let her out, as well as cleaning up several messy accidents throughout the daytime. Losing food after eating and an insulin injection causes a major dip in glucose levels and intervention by us to avoid sugar crash. After multiple trips to the Vet with tests results providing us with nothing, we decided to do it ourselves. We are 2 weeks in to Gut Guard. He gets it with each of his meals of shredded chicken, broccoli and rice. We are doing amazingly well! My 2 year adopted Pit Bull has had bowels issues since I got her at age 10 months. The vet tested her for parasites and every thing that could cause diarrhea. After 3-4 rounds of antibiotics and each time they were less effective my vet tested my little Daisy for Addison’s disease. I was recommended Purina Pro Plan FortiFlora by my vet and have had great results. Since then I grab it at Petsmart when needed. My pitbull has a very sensitive stomach and often has issues. Since using FortiFlora, most of his issues have been resolved. He loves the flavor. I believe it's beef and it's so easy to give it to him. You just sprinkle the packet on his food once a day and that's all. I've tried treat probiotics in the past and he wasn't a fan of the taste of them. Also I had to make sure he chewed them completely for them to work. The powder just makes it so much easier. It is pricey but well worth it. I honestly would pay any amount of money to make sure my animals are healthy. I highly recommend this product.jessica.j

First an introduction to Barnie the bichon… He’s 13 years young with one, heart failure and osteoarthritis. As you can imagine, this makes him not the most active pup in the park as he gets tired pretty quickly even though he loves his walks. Bert is old and has a few gas issues. Well a lot of gas issues really and sharing a room with him is sometimes not so much fun. The Purina Pro Plan Forti Flora sachets have made a huge difference to his gut issues and his enjoyment of eating. There is now much less tummy grumbling and much less gas. The sachets are so easy to mix with his normal wet food and Bert enjoys eating it. He seems to have got his appetite back since adding the sachets to his food, and is enjoying the taste, and I also think the good smell is helping too. I have been giving it once a week. I would like to see some more instructions in the pack but other than that we are very happy. While we are still in the early stages of using the product for our 6 week old puppy (now 9 weeks old), it all seems to be going well.
