An old doggo with a history of ear "dirt" that required weekly cleaning, applied these drops for a week and the results were impressive. Using a cotton ball to remove the residue (and icky stuff), and she clearly hears better. My Dog has Chronic Kidney disease, which causes anemia. This was the only product I was able find for pets that I felt was appropriate. It did help my dog for a time, I am very grateful! It didn't seem to cause him additional stomach or intestinal upset (which is great for an iron supplement:)). I am only giving 3 stars because for my dog's needs, it simply did not give him enough iron and it does not contain vitamin C (helps the body absorb the iron), and he seemed to have some reactions sometimes. So, I had to find a different source. For a healthy dog, too much iron can be lethal so this is possibly still a great product for healthy dogs (check with your vet :)). My dogs won't eat any meds. With this dewormer, I had to cut it up into 4 pieces and stir it into some canned food. Since they eat dry food 29 days of the month, the canned food is a treat. This product is exactly the same as the ingredients in Panacur. It has been around forever, and works perfectly well for the worms it is intended to treat. After getting a recommendation from the vet, we used this on our dog with very successful results. Tapeworms require a different product. Obviously, your dog should be diagnosed at your vet's office. Then you will know WHAT type of worms your dog has, and what treatment is necessary. It goes without saying that you must READ the directions as well as get instructions from your vet. I find mixing the powder with canned food or a glob of yogurt is all you need to do to get your dog to gobble it up. Your dog should also be on a heartworm preventative, and most of these products will have the added benefit of preventing several other types of parasites. Purchased PetArmor first when I physically saw worms in my dogs stool. Weighted my dog and he was 27lbs so correct wight for what I got.. 2 weeks later gave him the second dose just in case. 1 week later still had worms. Then Bought this Safe Guard 4 and gave the 3 packets for body weight like directed. Week after giving him that. Still saw worms. I started using this product afte my 7 year old dog was diagnosed with a Thyroid issue. Two of my dogs tested severely hypothyroid. The first was only 2.5 years old, a neutered male deaf boxer. This was found after numerous issues that almost became fatal when he experienced anaphylactic shock last Dec. I finally found a holistic/traditional vet to figure out the root issue for him. I would have never guessed he was hypothyroid!?! He was friendly, hyper, full coat, great weight, you name it. Ultimately though he got way softer fur and decreased or eliminated allergy symptoms (paw licking, scratching, puking, etc.) after starting this supplement. My 12 year old spayed female plott hound was recently diagnosed hypothyroid as well. She had more classic thyroid symptoms (weight gain, less energy, etc.) but still had a soft full coat of fur. As an added bonus of these and other natural food and supplement changes, she is less aggressive and less reactive than she has ever been before! She used to bark at her butt daily likely due to incontinence urine burn, and that stopped too (the barking and the leaking)! She also quit her daily head shaking (likely ear allergies). I have been waiting for several months to write a review on this supplement to make sure that the results I was seeing were not just a coincidence. My 4 year old wheaten terrier was showing some signs of a thyroid condition (sensitivity to sounds, bouts of being scared/depressed, lethargy, random signs of aggressive behavior with guests, stiff/sore back legs, bit of weight gain) & we had him tested (complete thyroid panel). My Lurcher Heidi had to have a mammary tumour removed. She was terrified wearing an Elizabethan collar. So I got her a Buster collar but being long nosed Sighthound and with a flexable neck she could reach her stitches. The "Suitical" vest I got her from D forDog was absoulutley amazing. I have 3 large dogs ranging in age from 1 to 10 years. The oldest one has some allery issues with itchy skin, and the youngest has digestive issues. Since gut health and immunity is important, and can decline with age, I think a prebiotic/probiotic supplement for dogs is a good idea. I like that it has a prebiotic and probiotic. This type of supplement is important for fighting inflammation and allergies, which is why I take one myself. I have been giving the Zesty Paws Aller-Immune Mini Bites to my 3-year old Boston Terrier. She historically has had some kind of skin allergies bothering her for her whole life.
