I was hesitant to try these for my dog Coco but she suffered from itchy skin and intermittent rashes due to seasonal changes. We normally have to do cytopoint injections at the vet but decided to give these a try. In short, they work great! You just need to be patient and give them the appropriate amount per day. It took a month to notice a difference in Cocos skin. It is possible that it won’t work for every dog but i would advise trying it a month or even two before passing judgement. The only thing is my dog does not “enjoy” eating them. I am not sure if there is a way to make them smell and taste better (I assume they don’t taste good because Coco will not eat one unless I appease her with a tasty treat afterward). So the “treat factor” should be improved if that’s a possibility. I did not remove a star for this because it’s quite possible that it’s necessary and difficult to flavor something with a medical benefit.jonathan.w

Apoquel has done wonders for my German Shepherd who recently developed seasonal allergies at six years old. I am a vet assistant, and I see all kinds of animals coming in with different skin conditions or allergies and always felt so bad for them and their owners….. then I got a dog with allergies and then I found out what it's really like…. it is devastating watching your dog itch and scratch to the point of pulling their hair out, then when the hair is gone… then there goes their skin…. they will make themselves bleed and still won't stop. I tried benadryl I tried EVERYTHING, had to even do skin antibiotics and steroid Injections and still he was itching…. so… the dr tried him on this….. now… first thing I will say is this medication isn't cheap especially for bigger dogs (if you have a 10lbs dog it's not going to be too bad) but my poor dog had to start off taking 2 16mg 2 times a day and it was roughly 300 for the first month, however from there you taper down and after a few months I got him down to half a tablet once daily…. anyway…. this medication worked like a dream for him. He hasn't had any issues for over a year now and although sometimes he scratches its more of a normal itch. This medication literally saved him and my sanity. I really wanted to like this stuff but unfortunately my dog had other ideas. The one and only time he actually ate it is when the cats threatened to consume his food. All other times he immediately turned his nose up at it and refused to even try. He is pretty picky, though, and likely was turned off by the smell (somewhat overpowering smoked smell). If you have a dog that is allowed any opinion on what they eat, take a pass on this stuff. If you have a dog, though, that eats anything that slows down long enough then I think it is worth a try. About 6 months ago, my cat, who has feline leukemia, stopped eating, was constantly vomiting, sleeping, and cringed whenever I touched her. She would still come in and sleep on me, but had no energy and whimpered a lot. I have a 12-year-old mixed breed dog named Lucy. Lucy suffers from pretty intense allergies. Her number one culprit is grain. When she consumes grain, she gets very itchy ears. They often have to be treated with an anti-yeast drop. She has caused herself to have burst blood vessels in her ear that needed to be drained at the veterinarian. We tried. The Aller immune chew for her for the past three weeks and we noticed that she is not shaking or scratching nearly as much as she typically does since starting these Chews. She has outdoor allergens as well that she will bite at her paws and she has stopped that pretty much altogether since starting these chews. All of her wounds & hotspots have healed & cleared up however, it's difficult to say if it's due to the end of mosquito season being near or a combination of these supplements along with her others. I'm just glad she's no longer uncomfortable, scratching & chewing herself raw. I don't think it was a coincidence that her symptoms finally started to subside when we added these Vet Strength Aller-Immune Bites & so we will be continuing to give her these daily along with her other supplements. She's between 45-50lbs & we split up her dose: 1 chew in the morning & 1 in the evening since it was one of the reccomendations as well as started her on only 1 a day as suggested to not shock her system. My dog ate this willingly only twice. I've even dipped it meat juice & he will not eat it. If I crush it in his food he rejects the whole bowl. He is not picky at all. so these must taste pretty bad. They are very dry. no idea if they work or not, can't see results if he won't eat them. I can assume the ingredients are medicinal. My standard poodle suffers from outdoor allergies. After battling them all summer the vet just said to double up on benadryl. I felt like I was drugging my dog. I saw an ad for these chews and thought it would be a better option to at least give it a try. My boy wasn't sure about the taste the first day and I had to wrap it in cheese. The second day, and every day since, he's gobbled it right down just like a treat! To test the results I totally stopped the benadryl and only gave him these chews. He only showed minor symptoms a couple of different occassions in which I went ahead and gave him a single dose of bendryl as needed. But the majority of days were symptom free (his biggest symptom is chewing his paws) and no benadryl needed. What's even better? Wow is right, because I am floored at how well this works! I have 2 pups with horrible allergies – one that nothing else works for. I've tried all different meds, including shots, and she still suffered horribly during allergy season. I reluctantly decided to try this, but we were in the middle of allergy season, and watching her suffer is just too much. Fast forward to July 2019, and my order came in the mail. I gave two of the chewables to my pup the next morning, not expecting much, but just hoping that there would at least be a little relief. Much to my surprise, she didn't scratch AT ALL that day!! I've tried the Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiseptic and Anti fungal Spray for Dogs and Cats on a few of our outside cats. They've been deflead but one still kept scratching and losing fur just above her tail. I'm not sure if it's an allergic reaction to the fleas or if it's the result of a thyroid problem. But we tried this spray and the itching stopped immediately. It's been almost 3 weeks and she still isn't scratching it. I also wanted to try this on some ringworm that a few of the outside cats have. I've been spraying this on for almost 3 weeks now but haven't really seen any improvement with the ringworm spots that I'm treating. Ringworm can respond slow to treatments anyway so I'm not sure if this is going to help with that or not. The spray is a pump and it has a light citrus smell, kind of like oranges. It will not harm your pet if they lick it. It didn't list a minimum age that you can use it on. It contains Chlorhexidine Gluconate, Keratin, and Aloe Vera. It's listed as an antifungal, antimicrobial, and antibacterial. To use this you just spray the area tell really wet, twice daily for a week, then once daily for another week. I read the reviews for this product but was still a bit skeptical for it to actually work. One of my cats (2 yr old orange tabby) literally scratched the size of a 50 cent bare spot (literally overnight) in center of his back below shoulder blade. By the end of the day the circle was warm red inflamed and gross. Being on a tight budget I did my research for home remedies. First I began applying a year old vet prescribed Dermalone antibiotic that was prescribed for one of my other cats for 3 days but area got worse. Then began applying Neosporin for 2 days lightly on and around scab now and ( luckily the spot was where he could not reach to lick off) and it did nothing as well. A week later purchased this product, followed the directions and a week later the area was completed healed. Scab dried and fell off and new skin looks perfect and normal. Unfortunately I dont know what this was for did not take him to a vet. Infected area did resemble pictures of ringworm online. I have 3 large dogs ranging in age from 1 to 10 years. The oldest one has some allery issues with itchy skin, and the youngest has digestive issues. Since gut health and immunity is important, and can decline with age, I think a prebiotic/probiotic supplement for dogs is a good idea. I like that it has a prebiotic and probiotic. This type of supplement is important for fighting inflammation and allergies, which is why I take one myself. Zesty Paws Advanced Allergy Immune Supplement seems like a good bet and I was pleased that all three dogs enjoyed eating it as if it were a treat. I have been giving the Zesty Paws Aller-Immune Mini Bites to my 3-year old Boston Terrier. She historically has had some kind of skin allergies bothering her for her whole life. Various trips to professionals and special diets occurred previously. I was excited by the appeal of the Aller-Immune bites. These bite-sized "treats" boast Immune support and Seasonal allergy improvement. It hasn't helped my dog in this way, in fact she has been scratching more and more. It's tough to say if it's the result of this product or if the weather and flora outside is changing. We have a rescue greyhound that is getting older. She retired from racing due to a broken leg, so we knew that we needed to start her on glucosamine soon. I was hesitant to try any because she is so picky with her food or treats, and it is extremely hard to get her to swallow a pill. I have never written a review for anything ever online. I decided to write this because I couldn't believe how great this stuff works. I have a yellow lab that for his whole life always itched and scratched underneath his belly and on his chest, he pretty much was hairless underneath. Nothing I tried helped him so I just thought he had bad allergies or bad skin and there was nothing I could do about it. I ended up getting this missing link product because of the reviews, even though I was skeptical at first. Low and behold, within a week he stopped scratching himself and his hair started to grow back. I really couldn't believe it. Now he never scratches and he looks great. This was prescribed by my vet and after a month and a half, so far so good. I have a 13yr old Aussie female and other than feeling a little pookie on the medication days, she is bouncy as ever. She was diagnosed with a malignant melanoma in the throat and the cancer was making its way down her throat. Palladia has stalled the growth as far as we can tell. X-rays next month with be more telling. Read the book 'HEAL' by Arlene Weintraub, to learn about the drug and its path from canine cancer treatment to use in humans. Great writing!Kathleen R
This is a great product. My dog had been diagnosed with a cancerous mass on her right leg, it got so bad to the point that she couldn't walk. After a month of using this product, the mass disappeared completely. ** Although this is a great product, it is very strong on the pet's stomach. Please be sure to talk to your vet so you can get digestive support for your pet, otherwise, Palladia can give your pet strong diarrhea and/or vomiting.
