My dog is a white chihuhua/terrier mix. He loves the sun. He can spend the entire day laying on the sun. He has one eye patch (brown fur around the eye) and one eye is white. The white eye gets sun burned. It gets really red, my doggie paws at it, and within a day he has an infection. Antibiotics ointment helps, but then he goes on the sun again and it starts all over. I have been taking little friends (dogs) out for hikes and climbs for years without glasses or goggles, expecting them to do without when I wore protective eye wear. This year I wanted to tackle Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, and Glacier Peak with the dog as a companion. Initially he hated the goggles and tried to shake them off (successfully off the eyes, but they rotate around the neck). Finally, after working my way up the ladder of dog dental chews I got to Greeneis and have not gone back since. They have been using Greenies now for close to two years (Dogs are now 3 and 4). Sure, they still have dog breath but it's not foul like it was with those other dental chews. I also notice very minimal plaque on their teeth, which I keep tabs on regularly. What sealed the deal was when I took them to the vet for a check up the first year they had been getting their Greenies and the vet remarked how excellent their teeth looked. I told her I seldom brushed their teeth anymore but gave them a Greenie each morning, which she nodded in approval. The cons? It's expensive compared to other dental chews, but I can't put a price on my dogs. These are the only ones that seemed to work that they like. I've also noticed some supply issues lately where it can be a pain to find them in the regular size. But most importantly, my dogs love their Greenies. Every morning after their go outside they know it's Greenie time. They walk over to the pantry and keep their eyes focused on it. Both my pointer pups like the dog treats. I don't give them the treats every day but instead about every three or four days. There is already a difference in the amount of plaque on their teeth. I bought a small pair for my shipoo for when he sticks his head out of the car window when we paddleboard. I honestly think they are precious and he doesn't seem to mind wearing them. They stay on him through all of our activities and we get constant compliments. The only issue we run into is trying to keep his hair (which is long unruly) from getting stuck between the goggle part and his eyes. So I bought this today , mostly out of because my nerves are gone from a dog I have that barks at EVERYTHING. I have other dogs and if they even move to change their laying position or I get up to go into other room, she barks non stop. I have a dog who had a very bad and dangerous habit of chasing cars. I tried everything to fix this including: high frequency sounds, treats and positive reinforcement, training, vibrations, physically restraining and even an e collar. Nothing worked, at least not consistently. I bought a can of this and my dog has stopped chasing cars after the FIRST spray!
