My Lurcher Heidi had to have a mammary tumour removed. She was terrified wearing an Elizabethan collar. So I got her a Buster collar but being long nosed Sighthound and with a flexable neck she could reach her stitches. The "Suitical" vest I got her from D forDog was absoulutley amazing. For toileting I just un-did the press studs and took her back legs out of the garment and rolled the Suitical back to her shoulders. I seem to have more skin allergic reactions since I contracted Burning Mouth Syndrome. The bottom of my legs will burn and itch and this topical Benadryl cream helps. I have to use a Benadryl mixture to swish and spit in my mouth so I thought topical would work on the legs. Oral Medicine said that with the cancer patients (which I didn't have cancer) Burning Mouth usually lasts for about 5 /- years, so she is expecting it will last that long with me. He only showed minor symptoms a couple of different occassions in which I went ahead and gave him a single dose of bendryl as needed. But the majority of days were symptom free (his biggest symptom is chewing his paws) and no benadryl needed. What's even better? Wow is right, because I am floored at how well this works! I have 2 pups with horrible allergies – one that nothing else works for. I've tried all different meds, including shots, and she still suffered horribly during allergy season. I reluctantly decided to try this, but we were in the middle of allergy season, and watching her suffer is just too much. Fast forward to July 2019, and my order came in the mail. I turned to this product for my cat after everything else failed. She has a chronic sinus infection that did not respond to multiple rounds of two different antibiotics. My dog suffers from hot spots on his feet and it makes him just miserable as one heals and another pops up in a different spot. My vet recommended I try a shampoo formulated specifically for hot spots and I found this at a major online retailer. A sixteen ounce bottle ran me about $7 as an add on item which I thought was quite economical since my dog is so small and that one bottle should last me through many, many washes. The formula uses Tea Tree Oil, Aloe Vera, Chamomile to calm dry, itchy skin and despite being a bit strong smelling during the bathing process the smell does not linger after drying. After the first bath with this I noticed a definite improvement in my dog's spots and he seemed more relaxed and less prone to lick the sore areas. After a month of weekly baths his spots were gone and they have not reappeared since. He also had a bit of a dandruff problem during the summer as he likes to sit outside and sunbathe which dries out his skin. We took a trip from California to Virginia on a Wednesday. On Sunday my 3 year old son was having chills. By Monday morning he was having a fever. My husband ran to Target to get OTC meds. I asked him to get some alcohol but instead he grabbed this bottle not realizing that it wasn’t alcohol. Having all of these OTC meds to reduce my son’s fever. I applied and rubbed this antiseptic to his knees and behind his knees. Applied cortizone to his buttocks area due to the hotness he was feeling. I have a 2 yr. old Maltese dog. This product is helpful, but you need to let it stay on for a few minutes before you rinse it off, and I don't have the patients. I have a 4-Years old purebred Keeshond (Precious Assal). Unfortunately Assal has seasonal allergy. I use to give him Cetirizine HCL 10 mg per his vet recommendation. My Labrador had stitches in her front leg right on the ankle joint so it was at high risk of infection as very close to the bone. I was hoping this would negate the need for the huge buster collar however, she would still lick at it through the sleeve and make it wet therefore increasing the risk of infection to the wound. She therefore still had to wear the buster collar as well as the sleeve to stop her licking it. Within a couple of days, there was a hole in the material of the sleeve and since then, a further tear has developed, so the quality of the material is not that good. She has also worked out how to get her leg out of it so all in all, it hasn’t been that great! That said, I would still recommend using one as it was better than not having the wound covered at all but for me, it didn’t negate the need for a buster collar unfortunately.Julieann
1 Very happy owner and one calm snoring Dog. He`s been at the top of his leg the last few days and licked it raw . No socks long enough and a long sleeved T shirt was not a success . Ordered this sleeve out of desperation . Money well spent ….. came in a flash and as soon as I put it on he seemed really excited and happy, running round barking the way he does before we go a walk. I am a vet assistant, and I see all kinds of animals coming in with different skin conditions or allergies and always felt so bad for them and their owners….. then I got a dog with allergies and then I found out what it's really like…. it is devastating watching your dog itch and scratch to the point of pulling their hair out, then when the hair is gone… then there goes their skin…. they will make themselves bleed and still won't stop. I tried benadryl I tried EVERYTHING, had to even do skin antibiotics and steroid Injections and still he was itching…. so… the dr tried him on this….. now… first thing I will say is this medication isn't cheap especially for bigger dogs (if you have a 10lbs dog it's not going to be too bad) but my poor dog had to start off taking 2 16mg 2 times a day and it was roughly 300 for the first month, however from there you taper down and after a few months I got him down to half a tablet once daily…. anyway…. this medication worked like a dream for him. He hasn't had any issues for over a year now and although sometimes he scratches its more of a normal itch. This medication literally saved him and my sanity. Our sheltie started developing these patches of dry skin around her hind quarters and underside. The vet wrote us a an RX for it. It worked well for her then we ran out after moving away. My dog has had an itchy face for so so long. We tried so many products and brought her to the vet and nothing really seemed to help her. The vet said she didn’t have allergies so we were at a loss. We have recently experienced a flea issue due to feral cats in the backyard and one of our dogs has a flea allergy. Everytime he gets bit he gets a reaction causing these little bumps on his body. I’ve been looking for a product that actually works since we’ve tried many that provided little to no relief. This product works AMAZING! Both my dogs have allergies and scratch to their skin is raw. I feel helpless in giving them relief. I have tried prescription meds, salves, new shampoos, wipes, sprays and oatmeal packs. Some would minimize but never alleviate the itching and the redness on their skin. This did the trick. Great surgical suit. Good quality material and workmanship plus it looks fabulous! If your dog needs to wear something to stop them interfering with incisions post surgery then this suit works a treat and is much kinder to them than the dreaded cone. Very glad I purchased this. Just a shame the post strike delayed it arriving, but it was still very much required.Michael P.
