When my girl gets a new stuffed toy, it’s ripped to shreds within the next two weeks. My boyfriend and I have been on the hunt for a toy that would last longer than a day with his 35lb mini aussie. It was a hopeful beginning, the toy lasted over 24hrs with no rips! But within 8hrs of the second day the tail ripped and was inevitably torn off. We took out the squeaker in hopes to get a bit more use out of it but he began ripping off the blue horns and eating them so we end up calling it before the dinosaur had a worse ending. When I first opened up the Schleich Volcano Expedition Base Camp, my mouth dropped a bit as an adult, so I knew my three kids were going to love it right away. I have to admit I didn't realize it was going to be so big and realistic looking. I could tell right away that it was durable and made of high quality materials with all the care to details. The volcano has amazing light/sounds affects and even makes steam! The product did not take long to put fully together and just needed 3 AAA batteries to start the fun. This toy is approximately 9x4x8 inches and is a plush volcano with 2 soft, squeaky dino toys inside. The descriptions says that it helps satisfy dogs' instincts to hunt so I got this toy in anticipation of getting my new Yorkie puppy. When it arrived, I was dog sitting my sisters 2 Yorkies so I figured that I would let them try it out. They were not impressed and just sniffed at it a little. My only complaint is that it only comes with one bath bomb and then you can purchase a re-fill of 6 for a little over $30 so each bath bomb is slightly more than $5 a piece. This toy didn't even last 10 minutes before it was ripped open and began to be unstuffed. My dog pulled out the squeaker and bit that apart. The material the toy is made of was chewed apart, and pieces bitten off. I found that "Chew Guard" is NOT a super tough component. Very displeased.Unhappy321

Based on personal experience, I got a level 9 Tuffy for my Mini Aussie. He tends to destroy toys pretty quickly – anything soft with cushion he goes after. Within 2 minutes and I am being generous here not over exaggerating, the entire toy was destroyed with all it's stuffing ripped out. (THAT THING HAS A LOT OF STUFFING). I don't know if we just got a poorly made one or what, but it did not last even an evening.samantha.g
This review is for the Tuffy shark, but I couldn’t find the appropriate tag for it. This is a good brand that definitely has tough, durable toys. For dogs that need more than a simple plush, these are a great choice. The shark is so cute, has interesting points to grab onto, and has a squeaker. The only disappointment I had is that when I ordered it online, it was labeled extra large. It seemed a lot bigger in the images. I thought I’d be getting something bigger. Besides that, it’s a new favorite around hereamber.g

These Tuffy toys are a life saver for parents of super chewers! Both of my pups are incredibly ruff on toys, but they LOVE stuffed animals. The toys are very hard to destroy, but soft enough to snuggle with. We have bought a bunch of the animals from the collection, currently we have a rabbit that has been well loved but is still in amazing condition! We love this dog toy!!! Our 7 month old Vizsla has been playing with the toy for the past 3 months. Thus far, we would have to consider this the most durable dog toy, ever! He tosses it up into the air, tears around the house with it, and chews on it. His Pterodactyl has taken a beating and still has no evidence of holes or open seams. Wow is all we can say. After reading all the great reviews for this toy, I believed it would be worth every bit. This "tough" toy didn't even make it past 10 min of durability. My dog found a weak spot almost immediately and the destruction began. Did the destruction last a bit longer than the normal 12 hours? Yes, but was it worth the cost? No. I do not recommend this toy as a tough durable toy.Kujobub

This review is for the Pterodactyl AND the Triceratops. Neither is indestructible. Our rotties (95 lb. 4 y/o female and 120 lb. 2 y/o male) can chew threw anything. I love that these are larger toys for larger dogs which means it will last just a little bit longer. Within a few days they ripped the stitches out and got to the stuffing but we just pull the stuffing out and they continue to play with it. They love playing tug of war and our male likes to thrash it side-to-side which can be dangerous if you have breakable items. Especially when he grabs the Triceratops by the tail. That toy is HUGE! Our dogs love these toys and although eventually the stuffing has to be all pulled out they still play with them and last longer than other toys we have used.Momdec23

Paisley can't get enough of these so I bought a 2nd dinosaur and added the elephant. I go the dinosaur for her littermate/sister (and cousin now, ha) for their birthday and the elephant for Paisley. Once again the dinosaur wasn't stuffed with anything but the elephant was (just like the giraffe was). For some reason I think the dinosaur just isn't meant to be stuffed (unless it was an entire product line snafu). It doesn't bother Paisley, though, or her sister and as I said before – if she's happy, I'm happy so it's a non issue and just didn't want anyone else purchasing to be disappointed in that possibility happening. And I can't say enough how CUTE these are, plus super soft latex that's durable and the squeaker is well built in and doesn't come out from her playing normally with it. They're also the PERFECT size for a small dog (she's a Chihuahua) to really get a good grip on. On the dinosaur and elephant, she LOVES grabbing the neck or trunk and shakes it. On my first review (below – for the dino toy), it definitely wasn't stuffed which, as mentioned, was a bit disappointing (to me, not to Paisley). I wanted to update after ordering/receiving the giraffe, however, that one IS slightly stuffed! Perhaps the dino was just a fluke? Either way – BOTH stuffed/unstuffed/whatever … these are Paisley's new favorites. Very soft yet durable latex and just the right size for her (and any tiny to small dog) to get her jaw around to actually squeak it without any problem at all. Until these two she only had one latex that worked (which is the standard, overly popular pacifier type) so I'm VERY pleased she has two new and super cute ones to have fun with!Ronda J

I have 5 dogs. 4 are considered large. This lasted about…20 minutes in my house. They really enjoyed it but it just didn't make it very long. They are really focused, heavy chewers. I've tried so many things from Nylabone and while they enjoy them all, within a half hour it goes from a chew toy to something they're ingesting and I have to toss it. My small rat terrier, who ALSO loves to chew however loved it and IF he could have had it to himself it would have lasted much longer. Definitely recommend for smaller dogs.jessica.p
Absolutely loved this product. My dog has plaque buildup on his back teeth, and I didn’t want to spend hundred dollars getting him a teeth cleaning, bought this he chewed on for a few days and all of the plaque was completely gone, and his teeth were good as new. Great, great product for teething, biting, chewing puppies!! We just got a new puppy and shew is she a biter!! But I know she’s just teething and needs a place to soothe her gums. I rescued this pit bull puppy who never had toys before and everything else I got her was destroyed within the first day. This lamb has become her favorite and I can hardly get it away from her to clean it. Believe it or not, it's still in one piece! It's incredibly sturdy; no holes, no limbs missing, all it's 'fur' still attached. She runs around the yard shaking it and tossing it in the air, and she LOVES the squeaker. I'll sling it by one of the legs and she runs as fast as she can to grab it, then plays keep away when I try to get it back from her. I'm thinking of getting her the whole collection.JenniferW
