This worked great on my dog's irritated ear. It was a weekend AND a holiday, and my poor little guy was so uncomfortable. I couldn't find an open vet anywhere and the ER was packed. After a little research, I decided on the Zymox and found it at my local Petco, which was not only open, but open all day even though it was a holiday. I was so grateful — after the initial shock of me dumping oily stuff in his ear, my dog was more comfortable within an hour and much better within 12 hours. Great product. An old doggo with a history of ear "dirt" that required weekly cleaning, applied these drops for a week and the results were impressive. Using a cotton ball to remove the residue (and icky stuff), and she clearly hears better. As others have commented, the product is oily, just don't over-do with the application, be sure to rub the ears well, and clean off the residue. Recommended.Owl at home

My poor dog has floppy ears and has been shaking his head for weeks. He seemed to have some sort of infection and i tried my best to help him to no avail. Before even getting her home I pondered the wormers at our local Petco, selected this one. On day 3 the worms came out, though her poor bloated belly was reduced after the first day. Will use this again if worming can't wait for the vet. Due to her weight we did have to weigh out the medicine (half a gram ='s 1/4 teaspoon), and you must have an accurate weight on the dog and an accurate measuring device for it to be as effective as it can be without giving too much. I went with the Safeguard brand because I've been using the livestock version for other animals with success. She ate it fine with cooked chicken/broth mixed into her kibble.Mandy R

during the late fall to the end of winter I give these to my dogs to prevent worms. Then early spring I switch over to Heartguard. You get three packs. I use two packs per dog per month. Each pack 40 pounds. Total 80 pound dog. Sprinkle in with a quarter cup of warm broth, stir well. pour over their dry food and blend in. They won't notice and eat their food. Sneaky but, it works. Saves me tons of money. I have two large dogs and Heart-guard can be very expensive every month so I subsitute during the cool to cold months. You save and your dogs stay healthy from worms. My dog had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics he was on after having a few teeth pulled. The itch was driving him crazy. This ointment seemed to take the itch away right after I put it on and he was able to relax. The only hard part was remembering to put it on every few hours. Espree makes some of the best products for my pup. The tea tree and aloe he’s my pup when she has dry skin. Especially in the colder month’s. This is a life saver for my pup. Great product, you will see a difference and it may be a little quieter with out all the Scratching!!david.s

I bout this for my dog today. Here’s a backstory of the problem. So my dog had his last bath earlier this month, he was itching and scratching and even flaking! And had a kind of fungal smell to him. I’m not sure. I examined his skin didn’t see any bumps or anything but he was CONSTANTLY scratching. So I read reviews on this product before buying Let me tell you, he hasn’t scratched once and it’s been 2 hours since his bath. Previously when we gave him a bath he scratched within 20 minutes. So this is a huuuuge improvement. I would recommend this product. Give it a try and watch them. If it doesn’t get better then def take them to the vet. Got a tip from a Petco groomer to use this product (Espree tea tree and aloe) for my wheaten terrier who has lots of allergies and itchy skin. She recommended it over oatmeal shampoos – which I thought were appropriate but apparently are drying and can contribute to the itch. She was right, this shampoo is great, doesn't make him itch, stops the itching, and helps to calm his skin when red and irritated. It isn't going to fix a bad problem since it isn't medicated, but it certainly helps with the more minor irritations. Plus, it lathers nicely and removes the greasy build-up that he gets during a flare, and it smells really fresh and rinses nicely. I also use the same brand/type in conditioner as well in the winter. I have been using this product weekly for a couple years now, very happy with this and had previously tried many other options. This is the best for our allergy-dog situation that I have found.nb123

My dog has been having such problems with his skin, super itchy and has always been very sensitive. He licks a lot and creates hot spots etc… After he got an infection and we had to put a cone around his head this has helped sooooo much to clear up his skin condition! It makes his coat much whiter too and smells like grapefruit, not a nasty smell at all. Overall I am just happy his skin is healing and the redness is pretty much all gone. now it's just maintenance. I have a 5 year old pocket bully who has allergies and very sensitive skin. This shampoo gives her noticeable relief as soon as shes out of the bath. I use in conjunction with the spray they also make. They have helped tremendously! If you have a fur baby who suffers with eczema, hot spots, yeast or any other skin issue please give them some relief and try this shampoo. This product is exactly the same as the ingredients in Panacur. It has been around forever, and works perfectly well for the worms it is intended to treat. After getting a recommendation from the vet, we used this on our dog with very successful results. Tapeworms require a different product. Obviously, your dog should be diagnosed at your vet's office. Then you will know WHAT type of worms your dog has, and what treatment is necessary. It goes without saying that you must READ the directions as well as get instructions from your vet. I find mixing the powder with canned food or a glob of yogurt is all you need to do to get your dog to gobble it up. Your dog should also be on a heartworm preventative, and most of these products will have the added benefit of preventing several other types of parasites. Overall I highly recommend, just check with your vet that it is what your dog needs.annahudson

Purchased PetArmor first when I physically saw worms in my dogs stool. Weighted my dog and he was 27lbs so correct wight for what I got.. 2 weeks later gave him the second dose just in case. 1 week later still had worms. Then Bought this Safe Guard 4 and gave the 3 packets for body weight like directed. Week after giving him that. Still saw worms. So I took him to the vet to see if maybe it was worms that these 2 dewormers just didn’t treat for. Nope, he had tapeworm and both this one and the Safe Guard 4 supposedly treat for tapeworm. Also, before I started all of this I did treat my home and yard for fleas and our dog so he shouldn’t have kept getting tapeworm from fleas. Vet said his flea treatment was working so the dewormers from Walmart just don’t work at all. Don’t waste your money and just take your pet to the vet.Natalie

Gave this to my one year old cat and within an hour she started vomiting, she rapidly got worse and started having tremors, brought her to the vet and they said she had ingested something toxic but couldn’t see anything obvious either in vomit or blood or urine, I informed them of the wormer and all he had to say was well we used to use that but don’t anymore, 5 days later she died. I was reluctant if this product would work. I was concerned if the kitties would notice the taste or not eat all their food on the plate at one sitting. I put just a tad into some Whipped Cream (it does the trick every time!) and every cat not only ate the medication, the plate was licked dry. Have not noticed any fine pieces of "rice" so know its done its job. If you are lucky – Purchase from the best Seller on ebay "MTCMAMA1" and the product will arrive already crushed finely into foil packets and ready to put into something yummy kitty cannot afford to miss. It seems that every year my horses get just a little bit of rain rot on their back legs, tips of their ears, and sometimes right along their backs where the saddle goes. I love how it takes a few washes to rid my horses of the fungus (of course, my horses don't get a terrible case of rain rot, just minor) and then the Aloe leaves their hair coat soft and shiny! It also works great for horses that have sweet itch. Same thing goes for that – a few washes and the fungus is near gone and leaves behind a super soft and shiny coat. ***I have know a couple horses allergic to Iodine, so i definitely advise to follow the instructions on the bottle. I was on frontline for years but when I thought I saw a couple fleas on my dogs in September 2020, I decided to make a switch to Advantage II for my cats and Advantix II for my dogs— BIGGEST mistake of my life (seriously, like over any horrible exes). I have $515.97 in receipts I submitted to the company (which was as horrible as the experience, which I will get to) and spent an additional $70 in store (in which I cannot find the receipt) since September 2020 to December. I followed every tip on the website and insert and my animals were still covered. I applied perfectly. I applied initially weekly, vacuum daily, steam cleaned, wash bedding constantly, etc. I don’t even have carpet but on the stairs and have treated the stairs and couches with Predcor. I even bought those flea traps with the sticky bottoms. I am not including any of this in that total I spent– that was all on the flea medications themselves for the 6 animals. I have saved some, not all, of the vials so on 11/13 I called Elanco. They denied my request for any type of refund. They questioned my exact dosage dates and frequency more than a doctor wants to know about your menstrual cycles but I took my best guesses, for all 6 animals although I did know what schedule they were on but didn't have it in front of me. Then they said that the product was probably not working because I bathed my dogs initially at the beginning 48 hours before application?? Their website TELLS you to bathe them before application (see 2nd screenshot posted)! I stopped bathing them after the 2nd application as it wasn't working and the dogs were miserable and only tried 2 cats (and really only 1 successfully because we all know how that goes). They then told me that I didn't give the product long enough?? Their website states (see 3rd screenshot) and is the same for Advantage II "K9 Advantix® II kills fleas within 12 hours. New fleas that jump on the dog from the surroundings, such as grass, carpet and pet bedding, are killed within 2 hours with protection against further infestation for at least 4 weeks." I tried their products, $600 worth on 6 animals, as scheduled, no missed doses for 4 months. I can’t blame it on just one animal or one batch—it didn’t work on 6, or one batch! I am very upset. Not only have I wasted money on these but I have bought corresponding products, sprays for the beddings, flea traps, etc. I FINALLY called Terminex and had to spend 12 hours clearing out under my beds, closets, getting everything off my floors, moving furniture etc. (time I will never get back) and getting my children and pets out of the house and went back to the brand that works: FRONTLINE! NO MORE FLEAS– what I should have done in the first place. I am so upset not by the fact that the product didn't work but by the way the company handled it, dodging any responsibility from blaming it on the baths they recommend to the length of time I gave it when they could have just refunded me and had someone that isn't going to not only post this review every place I bought it (not just here) but every other place that allows a review to include social media.Intelhottie

We bought Advantix liquid application anti-flea and tick treatment because it is effective, was less expensive and did not require a prescription. We had easily and successfully used liquid Advantix for years with our Plott hound mix. We now have a beagle. Beagle hair is different; it's thick, coarse, oily, kind of water proof and difficult to part in order to properly apply the liquid to the skin. Advantix is a very good product, but pet owners may want to assess their pet's coat to determine how the liquid application could be applied.Gary

My dog was getting ticks so I purchased this. I have used it in the past with great success when it had the Bayer logo on it . The one I received has the Elanco brand logo on it. I used 1 bottle and It was like I used nothing at all. Mind you I walk my dog and when he comes in the house I would find 2 or 3 live ticks walking on him. So I figured ok maybe it didnt work or I didnt wait long enough. After about 10 days of this I applied another bottle and again nothing. He still kept coming in the house with ticks every time. So I'm not sure exactly what's going on but the package I received appeared to be authentic. All serial numbers matched and packages were sealed well. We used this product on our grand dog. He was a scaly, crusty mess and had lost most of his hair. We took him to the vet and put him a regimen of medicated shampoo, oral antibiotics and an immunomodulator. We used the Skin Soother immediately after his daily bath. We also have him the salmon treats daily. I believe this product helped him regain his health. His color came back and all the scales and itching were gone. So I bought another. Even though the regimen is over, we are still bathing him regularly and applying the Skin Soother. That was over a month ago and he continues to look better than ever! My pug had a dark bald spot on his neck from scratching and I was looking for something that would hopefully heal the area and let his hair grow back. I discovered the skin soother and decided to give it a try and this worked like magic! I ordered the 2 oz stick version and loved it. The application was great. It was very easy and clean to apply overall. I applied it to the area twice a day for two weeks before I was able to start seeing results. The hair started growing back and the dark skin was lightening up and becoming less dry and flaky. At the same time, my dog was scratching at it less so that was a plus. Only thing is this stick was practically gone by my second week. It would not have come close to lasting the month. That being said, I had to order another to see continued results but I ordered the larger tin instead. My only issue with this product is the tin is a lot harder to apply. The texture itself is not as soft and smooth as the stick. I also had to use my own hands to spread it on which I did not like at all. It also gets messy in the tin as my pug sheds so there is now hair stuck in the product. My recommendation to the company would be to have the stick in a larger option and I would gladly purchase that. However, currently I greatly regret purchasing two of the tins instead of the smaller sticks. All in all, this product works and I would buy it again! My 22 month old extremely active male yellow Lab, Gus, developed redness and a rash on his belly area while running him 5 miles every day in and around rice fields in Glenn County, located in the Sacramento Valley in Northern California. So I have a beabull, mostly English bulldog. He’s a 7/8 mix. Out of nowhere his cute little black nose started getting crusty and cracked. I waited a while and it didn’t let up. A friend said there was nothing you could do but I found this online. I didn’t think it would work but we are on day four and his nose is DRASTICALLY improved. He hates when I put it on (he does that with everything ever though) so I have to put some peanut butter on a spoon and have him lick it after I apply it to his nose or he’ll just lick it right off his nose. I bought this for my dog’s (14 year old Shar Pei) keratin buildup on his nose and paws. It dissolved the stuff great and I was able to wipe off the stuff on his paws after one application. That was really impressive. My dog has fairly mild Hyperkeratosis but his nose gets a fairly thick layer of buildup, and this product allows you to remove it fairly easily after a few applications over a couple days and a cooperative pooch. I was really impressed with how well it worked. I use it now preventatively which prevents bad buildup on his nose and paws, so all in all I’m certainly a big fan. I recommend at least the 2oz can if you think you’ll use it on the paws. The 2 oz can generally lasts me a couple months even with multiple applications per day.
