This was a life saver. My pug is 15 and needs help getting up and down from couch. It has 3 positions so it is not steep for an older dog to use. It is ready to use right out of the box. Looks like a nice piece of furniture. It is not to long and can be used in the smallest spaces. The carpet like material on the ramp, also has slip resistant material on it (like what is on the bottom of socks). The dogs love it and it does not bother their feet. When going down the ramp, they can go as slow as needed and not slide down. I highly recommend this product. It will not work with really high beds or trucks unless you add to it. But it is perfect for anything else including cars (if needed) It is very light and easy to move around. It is very sturdy and does not move when dogs are using it. Even my younger dog loves it and she is scared of everything. The first day we got it we used treats to get them to use it. I only took a few minutes and they loved it. We had foam stairs before this but my older dog was still having issues using it. Because of the material of the stairs, when going down, it would force her to go fast and slide. This does not do that and allows them to go as slow as possible (I know I repeated this but it truly makes a difference for an older or injured dog/cat.)Nic

Just purchased this for my 70 pound elderly dog who has difficulty getting into and out of the car. I would have loved to keep this because of how well it was made, but it just didn't fit into the door opening of our new Equinox. Unfortunately the door didn't open wide enough. Also it wasn't long enough to use in the back lift gate. It was just too steep. Would be great in a regular car, but SUV's seem to be too far off the ground.Jodi
This is a nice sturdy ramp. I believe it may work well for vans but, with both of our cars (Chevy Malibu and Nissan Altima) the ramp does not have a level place to set it on. Our Golden Retriever tried it on both cars but it was to unsteady for her. I was very happy and a little surprised at how easy it was to return the product. I had a small sturdy table made to use this ramp along side my bed, and used velcro to secure the ramp lip to the table. So far neither of my dogs prefer using it, although both will use it when 'treat bribed'. Mainly because they're used to me picking them up. However, my aged cat loves to use it. In time and with patience all of my babies will use it. Meanwhile it's lightweight portability will make traveling with my babies for much easier. I have a senior dog that is having difficulty with stairs. I have several spots where a ramp is needed, with different rises, so I bought several ramps from several companies to see what would work best. My primary concern was length of ramp versus weight of ramp, as I have higher rises and in some spots I need to run several ramps with a landing pad in between. Discount ramps arrived the fastest. When they say lightweight, they mean it. It is not designed for anything other than a dog. It is very lightweight, which was what I was looking for because it will need to be set up and taken down repeatedly. However the design of the ramp basically has 3 aluminum rails that are the bottom edge supports and a center rail which run the length of the ramp, with a sheet of aluminum laid over the 3 rails and hinges in the center. The hinges don't relax to allow the ramp to go completely flat, so the ramp has a little bit of "spring" to it in the center. Also, because of my setup, a human has to step on the ramp in order to open and go in and out of the door. I am only 150 pounds, well under the weight capacity of the ramp, and I can walk on it without it breaking, but I can feel the sag of the sheet aluminum in between each of the rails where there is no support. It is holding with no issues, but I don't know how it will hold up over time. Also, one of the rivets in the center by the hinges popped the first time it was used, straight out of the box. One of my other dogs ran up the ramp and the "spring" in the hinge area seemed to be the cause of the rivet to pop as the dog caused the ramp to bounce slightly as it ran up the ramp. The ramp has been in use for 2 weeks now and no other issues have arisen. The other ramps I ordered from other companies have arrived and they are heavier, longer, and more durable, but are also not as easy to shift around. I have taken this ramp in the vehicle, since it is so lightweight, and it works well resting on the bumper of the SUV. Overall, it is an adequate ramp if lightweight is the primary feature you are looking for. It is the least expensive ramp I ordered, so the price is reflective of the sturdiness of the ramp.Pamela K.
We purchased the ramp for a large, tri-pawed dog who is sometimes afraid to go down a set of steps outdoors, and who has recently hurt his remaining back leg. We have tried to get him accustomed to the feel of it by laying it on the floor indoors in front of his food dish. We've had mixed success and recently, after a few weeks, we removed it. Because there is no latch to stabilize the hinged joint, it gives a little when he steps on it and it frightens him. I've only had it about a month but it is exactly what I needed. I like that it is fiberglass so I can leave it outside in the weather where I park my SUV. It seems durable and well made. The ramp grip material is very well adhered to the ramp. That and the fact that it is reasonably wide give the dogs a feeling of safety and control when using it. I don't expect the construction or grip material to deteriorate much over time. The ramp adjusts easily (by extentention, not by folding like some models) but stays as adjusted once you find the extension that works for you. Although I'm working with the dogs on an "exiting routine" (we just switched from a truck where the door opened and they could immmediately jump out), they took to the ramp with minimal training. As far as construction goes, this seems to be sturdy. It's plenty strong enough to hold my 105lb. dog. My only complaint in construction is that there is no lock to hold it open or closed. It just slides out and back in. Seems like it might be a little more secure with some kind of lock mechanism.My dog had no problem walking back and forth on it flat on the floor. The first time I tried to use it to get him in the back of my Jeep, though, he went up kind of tentatively, and he ended up sliding back down. It was a little too steep and he just couldn't grip in spite of the sandpaper-type surface. After that he didn't want to try again.So, I set it again the couch so it was at a lower angle, and we spent several days just having him walk up and down it between the floor and the couch. After that, we spent another several days with it on some carpeted stairs, bribing him to run up and down it to get food. After he got comfortable with that, we tried the car again. I still have to support him a little on the way up so he doesn't slide back, but it's definitely easier than trying to lift him to put him in the back of the truck! We have three dogs who don't really like jumping into the rear of our SUV so we thought we would try this ramp. One dog is a little over 150 lbs and we didn't know if this ramp could hold it. After a bit of coaxing the big dog used the ramp and after a few ups and downs uses it confidently. The ramp is strong, sturdy, and has a nice sandpaper like finish that gives the dogs traction. The surface of the ramp is quite rough (like sandpaper) which gives the dog good grip but it does mean some protection is needed for the car seats. I used a spare carpet tile. In short, after a "few" biscuits, the dog now uses the ramp with confidence and has made journeys out more pleasurable.James B
This is the second ramp we have owned for our Newfoundland, and Im a bit disappointed with this one to be honest. Its much bigger than I thought it would be I should have paid more attention to the measurements and is quite awkward to unfold when youre trying to hold onto a big dog at the same time. Its also tricky to get into the back seat of the car, which is where it has to travel because theres not enough space in the boot for it and the dog.However, its well made and definitely sturdy enough to stand up to the dogs 65kg weight. I just prefer the telescoping design we had before, for ease of use.
Well, my dogs still don't really like this thing. I think it's the "flexing" of the unit while they're walking on it. It's funny, the one that I thought would be the easiest to acclimate is the one who dislikes it the most. Luckily he's small enough that he can still jump up with having to use this. The one that I thought would be the worst was the best. I bought it for my older Aussie who while grudgingly using it to get up into the car, still choosing to jump off the tailgate rather than descending the ramp. Plus, the weird sandpaperish surface seems to bother their paws. I know it bothers my skin when I'm carrying it and it's brushed against my leg. Yikes, talk about rough grit sandpaper.

This is great- love how it could be a ramp or stairs. It could be a little higher with the ramp side, however the stairs work good for now with my little dog. I think the ramp is great if they have hip issues just like I said could be a little higher like the stairs are. The only thing I any not impressed with is that it only comes with one set of the sticky nonslip pads and they aren’t al that great at sticking to the bottom of the sides if you move it because of picking it up to clean the area underneath it- they call off. I wish this product would’ve came with either extra sets of those sticky nonslip stickers, or were already glued on to them legs and sides that would slide on the floor- better yet if they legs and sides were built with a nonslip think on them. These steps are not worth the price of free. They are incredibly cheaply made of thick cardboard, not even wood. The corner was broken off out of box, the legs do not clip on, it chips easily so when you pick it up they fall out. The "group" pads fall apart when you peel them off the adhesive, and so not stay in place. I will be returning it and would never buy it again.BB&B Customer
We bought these stairs to help our senior dogs. Our oldest is 13 pounds and 13 years old . Our youngest is 85 pounds and 7 years old. Our bed is high and the smallest dog wanted on and off the bed constantly. He is now able to get on and off by himself. The bigger dog use to leap onto the bed no problem. She is showing signs of struggle so we invested in these stairs! The stairs do flip to the other side as a ramp. But, I do not like the ramp as it is too steep! Both of the dogs refuse to use it! Works great on higher thick mattress bed. It is 26" off the floor to the top of the bed. He ( my Silky Terrier) is starting to get used to using it. I could not be any happier to have this sofa Ramp. I have 3 little dogs. 1 is a 13 year old Toy Chihuahua and the 2 others are Shi-Chi's one which was diagnosed earlier this year with intravertable disk disease. The surface was rather slippery and easily scratched. It felt like it was going to break down the middle when wallking on it but held our 100lb puppy. Unfortunately, the middle support bar that connects the two legs at the top just popped out, which I’m not even sure what held it together originally. But it’s wiggled out of place and now the stairs have no stability. I’ve tried gluing it back on (and letting it dry) with wood glue but the bar wiggles out every time after my dog uses the stairs.
