Zia is a 1 year old blue heeler and we've been searching for a bed that she wouldn't be able to tear through. At the price of these Casper beds, we figured this would be rugged and made well enough to stand against the teeth of a puppy. At first she loved the bed, and we trained her to go to her "spot" on the bed within a couple of days. Then one day I turned my back on her for 10 minutes and she had chewed a hole through the corner of the cover. The cushion was showing underneath, and I noticed this before she could eat the stuffing. With Casper's customer service being of such a high standard, I figured they would at least send us a replacement cover, but no such luck as this was a wedding gift to us (and they wouldn't make an exception in any case). We previously had this bed for years, and my dog loved it. When we replaced it, it was horribly disappointing. The center of the bed has no support at all. Our Weimaraner tries to lay only on the edges, avoiding the center completely. We called to complain, and Bean sent us another one which was equally as bad. We bought the medium bed for our first rescue border collie in the early 2000's. She passed in 2006. In 2008 we got two rescue border collies around 1 year or less old. They have enjoyed this bed ever since. The cover does not show wear and washes easily. The insert is soft enough to indent for comfort. The quality its outstanding. Our dogs are 15 now and the bed looks new. We also bought each of them their own rectangular memory foam bed ls from LL. Bean as young dogs and they still enjoy those.
