Truly a nice furniture kennel. Bought it without reviews, so took a chance. One of the containers was destroyed in shipment, but it’s packed with styrofoam all around so no damage! The locking mechanism seems sturdy. The bars seem sturdy. The boards are strong. The instructions are pictures, but easy to follow along with. My dogs are well behaved in kennel, so not sure how it will stand up with one who’s not. Overall, I’d recommend it!MML

I just bought this kennel for my dog, it lasted 3 months. When it arrived I noticed right away that the quality was not as sturdy as our other kennels. The wires/ bars are thinner than what I would say is the norm. My other 2 are definitely thicker. This is already falling apart. 2 small bars are broken off and the bottom bar under the door detached from the frame leaving this basically useless and not safe for my dog anymore. There is no option for a replacement or discount to replace. Save your money and get a different brand.Sjm81

I needed crates in which the door opened from the opposite side of every other crate on the market. I ordered 4 of the Go Pet Club Metal crates because they had the feature I needed. Disappointed in the gauge of metal used, still pretty flimsy once it's assembled. I would definitely not use these for a large breed puppy. Some of the wire welds were broken, Hayneedle is working with me on that currently. I love Midwest crates, but the door hinge is on the wrong side for my needs. Not sure if I'll keep these or not. My brother has pups to separate, so he may benefit from these.Sandra

Got this crate for our puppy for up at our camper. It’s the perfect size and she just loves it. When she wants to nap or it’s bedtime she just climes right into her bed inside crate and is a sleep in a matter of seconds. It’s her favorite place.Anonymous

I've had the crate cage for maybe 3 weeks and my one year old heeler has broken out. on one of the sides he pulled it loose from the frame and bent it inwards. Now I don't know what to do.Deborah

Good quality heavy duty cage for my Doberman puppy. The chewed the wires off the regular cage. Only concern is the tray goes under the metal grate at the bottom of the cage. Not good at all. He got his foot pad/toe caught in it. Also his collar caught in it. I forced the tray to go into the cage on top of the grate. Problem solved. Need to have an option of where to put it. Would recommend with supervision of your dog. No collars on when grate is not covered. Good tough cage. Neighbor bought same fir her bull dog puppy same age as my dobie. She likes it also. *The price was very reasonable and the size/construction was surprisingly sturdy. *As an added bonus, our cage has a side door that wasn't advertised. We almost didn't purchase this one since it appeared to only have the one door at the end. But our cage has a second door that swings out from the side panel. *We have always taken small (4" size) zip ties and secured the corners of our cages to provide added strength – in case dogs paw at the cage. I would still recommend zip ties although the cage seems to snap in place tightly. Of course, if you frequently fold down the cage, replacing zip ties can become cumbersome. *The plastic pan on the bottom is thinner than our last cage, but our dogs have not chewed or scratched at them previously, so this won't be a problem for us. *The carrying handle appears strong enough to lift the empty cage and will be useful. *Upper and lower slide latches are provided on each door. All latches have a rod bent at the end to help secure the latch. In the past, our dogs learned to shake the door until the latch slid over but this new design prevents the latch from sliding open.KYMom

I bought one of these and liked it so much that I just purchased another one. Both are the 42 inch size.I have 2 older 42 inch similar type kennels but they are a different brand and I paid a lot more for them. I think that the BestPet brand wire pet cage/crate/kennels are just as good as the more expensive ones that I have. In fact I was able to purchase two of the BestPet kennels for what I paid for one of the older kennels I have. I like the latches on the Best Pet kennels. They have a little "crook" on the end that prevents the latch from sliding open accidently. But it is easy for a human to open and close. I am an older woman and the kennels are easy for me to move around to the areas I desire to put them. They are sturdy, but easy to handle,and have the plastic slide out tray at the bottom for easy cleaning, I was unsure about this Brand at first because the price was so GOOD that I figured something had to be flawed with this kennel but I was very wrong. I do think it is a good idea to buy a couple of extra plastic trays or if you are crafty cut a piece of heavy duty plastic to have on hand when you change out a tray for cleaning. Plastic is just plastic so a heavy dog could cause damage to the tray .But the trays I got with my kennels are not flimsy at all. The kennel comes with a plastic handle that can be attached at the top. I live in a rural and at night the coyotes and other undesirable critters come out and I have had problems with Tom cats just mauling my young cats. So now I can put my kittens or young cats and puppies in kennels at night and I don't have to worry and fret about what is happening in the dark to them. Also, this will save me money in Vet bills. The cost of just one of the large kennels is about the cost of an office visit to the vet so I am very pleased to wake up each day and know that all of my "babies" are safe and happy. Included with the kennel is a wire divider that can be put in the kennel so you can keep pets separated from each other. I had one particular cat that had an injury that seemed to outsmart me and escape from any cage I tried to keep her in. She can't get out of this Best Pet kennel. I will buy a couple more of the 42 inch size kennels to have on hand because the price and quality is so great and I plan to buy a couple of the smaller wire ones to transport cats and pups to the vet in. I find the plastic cat carriers to be attractive but not so practical when you have a heavy cat or a "wild" cat or unhappy dog that needs an injection from the vet before it can be removed from the carrier to be tended to. These kennels come with a very fair 3 month Limited Warranty. (Send in the Warranty Card !!) If you are needing to purchase a new dog crate, this is the brand and model I highly recommend. Midwest had several levels of crates but I have found that you cannot go wrong purchasing the Lifestage's model. They are solidly made and last forever. I always purchase the double door crates. They have cheaper models & more expensive ones too. I would not recommend their icrate as they are cheaper but they are also not had solidly made as the Lifestage's. Spend the extra $10-$15 and purchase the Life Stages model. It is well worth the money. I have had great success purchasing there crates at Petco.com. I always receive my items within a couple of days. It is also nice when you have a Petco store nearby where you live. If you have any issues with the merchandise you received, they have always been very accommodating and made sure they did whatever was necessary to correct the problem, return the merchandise at a full refund and/or replaced the item. I have been very happy with Petco and the merchandise I have purchased!!!Shari L

I just received this crate a couple of days ago for my Saint Bernard mix pup. The size is perfect and he has tons of room to grow in it. The doors latch nicely and the crate is very sturdy. We received this very fast! The only downfall I had with this purchase was that when we removed it from the box and set it up, there was a decent sized crack (all the way through) on the tray. I won't be replacing the tray as I've spent enough on this crate. And fortunately for me, my 5 month old pup doesn't have accidents in his crate, but I'm sure if others received this, they would not be happy.tsjackie

I had been looking at the end table style crates thinking that would look nicer and less bulky then the 4' x 4' X-pen I have in my living room. But, comfort is the main criteria and I wanted my Whippets to feel they could stand and dig through a deep pile of bedding, so I went with this crate. I like to rearrange the furniture so I bought the double door style to keep my options open. For my two Whippets I bought the 42" x 28" size which has been more then enough room for them to lay side by side or end to end. It arrives flat, but you just fold out the sides and it is ready to go. It came with a handle so it could be 'portable', but at this size it is heavy and I don't plan to take it anywhere, so I didn't attach that. I left the X-Pen up for them while they made the transition, but they hopped into the new crate the minute I put it up and haven't been back in the X-Pen (even though it still has more bedding in it). The black wire instantly looked better then the metal of the X-Pen and I'm staining a piece of wood I put trim molding around for the top (I had it cut to size at Home Depot) so I'll have an end table style look, but the height and comfort the pups want for their 'cave.' Very happy and buying a second one to have at the office for the days they come to work with me. Both crates and the wood top are costing less then the end table style crate, so all three of us are happy!psh1

My husband and I got a puppy from the pound. She was only 2 months old when we brought her home. Using this crate for the first year help us keep our home intact! she would only be put in the crate when we were gone, that way we knew she was safe and not getting into trouble chewing furniture or peeing in the house. those two door design is fantastic! So easy to get them in and out. She loved her crate like a second home. We added blankets and toys, food and water and there was plenty of room for our little Savannah….even now when she weighs about 60 pounds she still fits comfortably.jay.m

I have two of this size (one door model). I have had these things for ohhh, 10 years…I raised three rotty's in them and kept various rescues of all animal kinds in them until I could get them off to rescue people over the years. They did duty in the barn area for poultry for most of the last 6 years and got messed on all over the place, were damp in the winter and were used like tables with a board on top. Ended up with another rescue that might stay…looked at em all poultry encrusted and dusty and cobwebby and shook my head thinking they're done. They have been through the wringer the last 6 years. I realized I really don't have the money to buy new so decided to try to clean them up as a futile attempt to not have to buy more. I had to at least try. 2 hours ,a bucket of warm soapy water, a scrubby , washcloth and a hose later…OMG. They cleaned up GREAT. The handles of the latches were slightly slightly rusty here or there where the black coating flaked off (about the only place it has flaked off and then only small spots), the metal tubes that connects the panels together a little dull, pitted and slightly rusty here or there and that is IT! They still work just fine and they look award winning good considering where they have been. If not for the latches and the connector pieces they could pass as gently used items despite what they have been through. So essentially, if you want a solid, quality crate that is priced reasonably and WORTH every darn penny….go with precision crates. One precision crate could very likely last you all of your adult life if you stayed with the same size dog. As it is now we have the two x lrgs, 1 mediumish, and 2 for 30 lbs or less dogs. And because I am so impressed with what I have,….I'm going to be buying this X-lrg 2 door version to fit in a spot where a single door crate won't work in my house. Remember- Don't throw away an extra crate that is in working order, donate it to someone who can't afford a crate or find a rescue group that needs it (crates are good for lots of different animals).Windchyme

Finally, after buying several different brands that boasted 5-stars ratings and returning each one because of its sharp, unfinished wire ends/edges, this one arrived! No sharp edges! I just received this cage and the pan is broken, the bottom of the cage is bent. Wrote to the company as i want to return it and not sure i want a replacement ,it is really poorly made. Wish i could return it to Walmart ( my mistake i shouldve read more carefully )Now it looks like i'll have to pay to return. Would never buy from them again. The box that the cage came in wasn't damaged – so they packed already damaged cage ! Really upset about it as the price was ok.Galina

I have bought several crates, several different brands. I prefer the single latch, this crate is very well made. However the I crate is heavier. I have french bulldogs and like both brands. The tray is very good quality and the door opening is a little undersized but not bad. Overall I would buy this crate again. It is lighter weight and very portable. Happy with this crate.573ranch

I returned this because I didn't realize it had a metal tray and I thought it would rust and be chilly for a puppy we have coming. (It's winter time as I write this review.) Also I didn't find the handle that's mentioned. I would say the quality is medium by today's standards which let's face it are crappy. The gauge on this would be fine for a smaller dogs like Westies, Mini Schnauzers, Mini Poodles. The door hooks have a curve at the end which would make them secure. When I took it back to the store, I asked about a discount and received 15% off (the tax). I had previously bought one that was marked down by 50% because the box was damaged. I've owned dogs for the last 40 years. I've used MidWest wire crates for my last 4 dogs. This iCrate didn't disappoint. It's sturdy and and easy to put up and take down. I use them when I travel with my dogs too. My dogs only use their crates for sleeping in at night or napping in during the day. During the day, their crate doors are left open. I close the dogs in at night. I don't have an issue with my dogs trying to escape from their crates, so I can't speak to whether or not this would be sturdy enough for a dog that's determined to get out of their crate. These crates are more than sturdy enough for my miniature Schnauzer, Havanese, and Wirehaired Pointing Griffon. All three of my dogs love their MidWest iCrates, as did my previous dog! They go in them voluntarily and when told to "crate up". My only concern with the current crate I ordered is that that one of the latches isn't lined up quite right so it's a bit tight when closing the crate door. I bent it slightly and it works much better. I haven't had that issue with any of the previous MidWest crates I've used. I'm a MidWest crate fan.Eddie09

We bought this in April 2022 for our Rhodesian Ridgeback mix puppy. He was weeks old when we rescued him. He was a Parvo pup and barely survived, so rest and his own quiet space was highly recommended for recovery. We first used the divider which was great. However, as he grew, so did his strength. It definitely is not strong enough for large dogs. Even for short amounts of time. At the moment he is 6 months and 60 pounds. Thankfully he did not get out nor hurt himself! Easy to transport as it lays flat and easy to set up. My dog will likely grow to be a 50 lbs border collie but right now is about 14 lbs. I have set up the partition to give him 2/3 of the space and it is perfect for him. The double latch system provides security and ease of use. We also bought the mattress pad for this kennel and it fits under the partition if you are making the space smaller ( no need to bunch up on the usable side)Ron P

I am so happy I made this purchase! These crates were an important safety upgrade for me. The medium and intermediate fit perfectly into my Crosstrek with a little room to spare. I love having a second exit so I can grab them from the front or back as needed. I added the tie down kit to be sure I could attach everything easily. I also added the extra holes. I adopted an 8-month-old female terrier mix from the animal shelter the day after Christmas. She is really sweet and gives lots of kisses, but she has used the bathroom on the floor a few times and is kind of very active. Sometimes she barks at my 2-year-old male German Shepherd who is more mild mannered. I bought a large (up to 70lbs) crate for my terrier and she is so relaxed now. We have a 6 month old cane corso/pit bull mix, he was 55 lbs and he loves his cage! He's got plenty room right now but so far this cage has paid for itself! He hasn't always loved it. He's bent multiple spots attempting to bust through to get out (sometimes he has while we were gone). Although now after his neuter with his cone and about a month before also going in and out easily. Super spacious!mama

Very nice and easy to assemble. Unlike most of the other crates we have used, could only find one sharp edge which, of course, I cut myself on. But I love the how the gates lift up and slide down for extra security on the latch mechanism. Also, the tray is perfect and does not slide around once the crate is assembled properly. Our puppies love it! By the way, have two Frenchton puppies. Their combined weight is about 18 pounds. They travel very well together in this crate. We got the 24 inch.E.

This cage is deceitful. I purchased this cage and there’s no way this cage is 37” I have a 36” cage that my 1 year old, 60lb American Bully fits in, but is too big to fit in this cage. Highly DON’T recommend.Lashawn
