Best Dog Urine Remover For Carpet (Jan 2023 Update)

This was my first time using this carpet cleaner. My husband bought it off Amazon.. As soon as I sprinkled it all over the carpet my 7 year old daughter started complaining that she couldn't breath. We never had that happen with any other carpet powders before. Also this carpet powder is hard to sprinkle as it is just open has no lid with holes to sprinkle from like other carpet powders plus it's clumpy when you sprinkle it feels kinda wet. It didn't really take care of odors part of it didn't want to be vacuumed out of my carpet. I definitely not using this carpet powder ever again.october .k

All of Nature's Miracle products are amazing, but I was especially happy when this line came out because it's made with 86% plant-based surfactants. It's still tough as ever and has helped with our urine stains (marking territory issues!) but smells so good and feels more fresh. My household is busy, full of kids, dogs and constant traffic of everyone coming and going. Finding products that fit my lifestyle has been tough, aggravating, and frustrating. I was really excited to find biokleen and read about the actual science behind their products. I rolled up my sleeves and dove right into the worst room of our house- the dog room. Ok, so we have two chihuahua dogs and potty training them has been a complete nightmare, so when we are not home, they are left in our sunroom. This Bac-Out was a perfect solution- it was safe for my ceramic tile, actually got down to breakdown and absorb the mess, and completely eliminated the stains unlike anything else I have seen! As luck would have it, my son got a horrible bloody nose after this product arrived. I used it to spot treat the carpet from the trail he left through the house. It worked fantastic. I like the fact that I can pour it on the spot rather than having to spray and spray to cover the soiled area. It worked like magic getting all the blood out of our carpet. The stain lifted on the first try and took minimal effort with dabbing. I only had to apply the product one time to get the spot completely out of the carpet. The spots have not attracted dirt, and the carpet has not changed in texture where I used the product. It has a wonderful fresh smell. I’ve heard of this brand before but have never used it until now and wow, I’m impressed. It does an amazing job at removing stains and neutralizes odors. If you have kids & pets, you definitely need this. I have a Beagle who does have accidents from time to time especially when no one lets him out and he’s left by himself. I just blot up the mess (paper towels work best because I can just throw them away) then I squirt a decent amount on the stain and blot that up. The smell is gone and stays gone. I used this on my area rug and it didn’t stain or bleach it at all. It has a fresh lemon lime scent and it smells clean. So I was curious when it said this can be used for stains. On a different area rug in my living room, my son decided to use marker to color on my rug (I posted before & after pictures to show). Works good so far. The only issue I had was dispensing the foam. It didn’t come out very easily. Maybe I didn’t hold the can upside down enough. I had to use my hand to spread the foam. But it worked. The main thing is my cat is not urinating on my couch so far.petcogil

My elderly Furbaby has recently started peeing in the middle of the night on the carpet in my dining area. She’s small so it took a minute to discover this new activity. If you're looking for a product that is great at lifting urine stains as well as the odor, I definitely recommend Nature's Miracle Urine Destroyer Plus. We recently got our first dog and potty training has been more than a bit of struggle. When it came to cleaning up his accidents, we started noticing that a lot of products after the first use (because he would go back to the same spot) didn't get rid of the odor which honestly played a huge part into why he was constantly going back to that spot. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money on anything else like I did. I was literally at the point of tears after buying a used sectional and realizing there was cat pee on a large section and it STUNK, like gag a maggot. I used vinegar, baking soda, then shampooed it with RugDoctor pet stain remover. Then tried Angry Orange Odor eliminator, then Rocco and Roxy urine odor remover (which actually did help but still left way too much stink in the bad spots) I used it like 3x. I was about to drag the sofa out into my yard and set it on fire. Literally. Then I decided to try 1 more thing… and thank God I tried this. It took care of 98% of the smell after the 1st treatment. This product is okay. It's not as phenomenal as a small shampooer would've been, but it does a good temporary job. I have a sectional which 3 dogs occupy basically all day long. There's dirt, there's hair, and there's a few mystery spots, which is what leads me to buy this product. Price isn't terrible, especially seeing as a little goes a long way with the foam, so, this will last you a while. What knocks stars off for me is the fact that a lot of the foam gets trapped in the bristles that I can't get use out of, and the foam sprays out of everywhere, making it a bit messy, and the part that sucks the most is it didn't get every stain out completely. It lightened them, definitely, but it did not fully remove, but from a distance, you wouldn't even know. This was my first time ever using this product. I like that this is a stain and odor remover that can be used on almost anything. Also this being non-toxic and cruelty free is important to me because I want to keep my children and pets safe from any harmful household products. This has no scent, which I don't like. This product is simply amazing and perfectly named. As a father of 3 kids also having 2 big dogs and 6 cats, stains and odors have become a part of everyday life and a constant battle until I tried this product. My sister has a dog that visits my home. He consistently marks one spot in my kitchen. I have tried multiple products. I was excited to this this product on the shelf. I have used it in the past and had forgotten about it. I used it today and the wall smells so much better. Thankfully it's a wood wall so I didn't worry about fabric checking. I can't smell the urine so we will find out if it works. We have been very happy with this product. Thanks goodness we do not have to use it often. But we use to have an older cat that would pee outside the little box while inside it. We were always cleaning. We ended up getting a gallon. The price worked out way cheaper for us at the time. We would bounce between this product and the white bottle one. I mopped with the Urine Destroyer diluted strong in water so house smells good again. I then soaked my clothes and the dog bedding for abut an hour in a bucket with laundry soap and a couple cups of the Urine Destroyer. The smell is gone! I have a 14 year old cat named Garfield. He's getting old and sometimes has accidents on my carpet. Spot Shot in the convenient spray can be the perfect solution. Have used this product (Spot Shot) for years with excellent cleaning results. However, I have been continually frustrated with disappointment for years now on NOT being able to use all in the12 oz. can I purchase … as the propellant near always runs out leaving 1/4 – 1/3 of the cleaner in the can stagnant …without enough propellant, the remainder is trapped in the can ~ the cleaner left is no longer an option to use and the remains are trashed ~ time after time ~yup, pitched in the trash. This product is not inexpensive and am throwing my $$ away by this constant defect…a real issue of concern for me …guesstimate per can I pay for and can not use, about $1.40 of product I end up throwing away…. adds up over the years to A LOT spent on throw away product…your defective package performance has been disappointingly consistent. Looking at reviews…know I am not alone in my concern of having silently harbored in frustration for years as your product is excellent for my need of carpet clean, but feel cheated as I continually pay for 12 ounces, but consistently get less less due to inadequate propellant for amount of contained product purchased. Let’s just say this product is as necessary in our home as electricity. My fiancé and I are known to spill spot shot is magic! It can remove red wine from white carpet and any food stain from our furniture and most recently, my favorite restoration hardware rug! I haven’t found another product that even comes close and the price is very reasonable. We keep a can of spot shot on every flooor of our house and actually give it to our friends for house warming gifts-they laugh at first and then we eventually hear from them later on “you weren’t kidding this literally gets out anything!”. I wasn't too excited about the lavender scent at first because I dont like the smell, but once I sprayed on the Bac-Out pet stain and odor removal, I was pleasantly surprised. Not only does it seem to work better than other leading pet stain remover brands, the aroma is quite pleasing and fresh. This product is easy to use, does not make your house smell like you just cleaned with heavy disinfectant, and it works great. Don’t listen to anyone who doesn’t give this 5 stars. They didn’t follow the steps, obviously. I have a worse cat pee problem than all of you combined and this was the only- the ONLY – product that worked. Just listen. We just moved into this new house with plenty of space for our three cats. The two females and one male are treated with premium respect- each has its own covered litter box in its own location, each receives two healthy portions of raw food daily and at least 4 hours outside. They return eagerly when called. They are seemingly happy and content with our situation. The male cat is not ours, it’s my mother's, and we’ve been watching him for 6 months. When we moved, he began lining one particular wall in my office with urine. Upon further inspection with black lights, there seems to be a sizeable 1-2 ft wide strip of urine lining the 20-foot wall. There is so much that I am forced to conclude that he couldn’t have done it alone. We learned the previous tenants had cats, and we believe our male is lining this wall to mark over pre-existing urine. This is the only explanation I have, hence the pretext about how we treat the cats, and as a graduate of animal behavioral science, I think I’m right on this one. So for the last month, I’ve been coming home, sniffing the air at the front door (20 to 30 feet from the urine wall) and dawning my gloves angrily as I get down and clean the urine wall and underlying carpet with every cleaner known to man. For my first traumatic war with the urine and the scent, I used the entire 32 oz, let it sit for three or four hours, blotted thoroughly, and then vacuumed with our specialized pet accident vacuum cleaner that has claws on one of the heads to penetrate deep into the shallow carpet. My story is perhaps a little more embarrassing than your typical pet stain story, in that it didn’t involve any pets, and instead involved me, a pandemic New Years Eve, my roommate’s champagne Jell-O shot recipe, and a whole lotta morning-after regret. After my parents’ carpet cleaner broke due to an ill-timed accident while I was at their place to pick up the thing, I went to Target on a whim. I knew I had to do something to remove the stain signifying my woes. I don’t know what the heck they put in this stuff, but it works so freaking well. I only wish I had a before shot to compare. You honestly can’t tell the carpet is stained if you don’t know what to look for, and my professional carpet cleaning appointment on Monday should fix the rest. I guess the “OXY” on the front label should have tipped me off that this product could severely bleach the color out of the carpet. I admit that this is my fault since I did not take the advice to test a small inconspicuous area first. The product certainly did remove the stain (a dark grease stain from spilled food), but in doing so also removed the color from the carpet, leaving a big obvious and unsightly light patch, almost worse than the stain. Definitely do test the product in some hidden area before using it on stains.MH Guy

I've been using this product for a few years. First time I bought it to clean dirty carpet, and was amazed how easy the stains came off. Those weren't pet stains though. I can't say anything about it, as we don't have pets. Next time I tried it on a tea stain on my linen table runner. Tea leaves tough stains that tend to get darker. I was ready to throw away the runner so Woolite was its last chance. It worked!! The stain started getting lighter and disappeared. I actually had high expectations for this cleaner since I mainly use Clorox cleaners in my home already. The cleaner worked just great at making the urine smell go away at the moment but the next day it came back. I ended up doing multiple applications that sat on the (black light found) stain and followed the directions exactly. It didn't say whether I could expect a black light found stain to disappear so I didn't get my hopes up to much for that but I had really hoped that the smell would come out of the multiple (baby and cat) stains throughout my house. This worked pretty well at cleaning up toddler accidents and making it so it did not soak into the carpet leaving a black light stain. Basically, this cleaner seems to be a preventative cleaner. You clean the urine accidents up right away up and it prevents it from sinking into the carpet to avoid a smell and stain. I tried this and a homemade water vinegar and baking soda cleaner and used both on my carpets. Clorox was best for new stains and the homemade cleaner was better at getting the stain and smell out of old carpet stainsjennifer.f

Light scent keeps my headache to a minimum as I’m chemically sensitive. Removed the dog scent and dirt from my carpet. As others have mentioned, the smell is horrible. I got a trial size of this with my new carpet cleaner. I don’t enjoy carpet shampoos that leave a heavy perfume scent when you’re done, but this smell is definitely not it either!! Smells like wet dog. I have let the room air out with fans/ air purifier for a day and it’s still bad. I will probably end up going back over the carpets with my other shampoo to see if that gets rid of the smell.Jenna

This cleaner is great. A lot of people complain about the smell of the product, this product is supposed to be a deep cleaning disinfection solution. Not a cleaner that is full of masking smells. It’s active ingredient is hydrogen peroxide which is why it has the strange smell. I didn't know what to think from reading the other reviews. Some swear it worked, others say it was useless. Here's my experience. When my Bernedoodle first got sprayed, I used the hydrogen peroxide formula you read about all over the Internet. Although, it got all the yellow stain off his coat, the smell was still horrendous. I waited a week thinking it would dissipate over time but there was no improvement whatsoever. Accordingly, I set out to purchase a commercial product and settled on Nature’s Miracle. Initially, I didn’t think it had worked at all – I was in the camp of the 1 star reviews. But then I noticed a small improvement the following day, maybe 10-20%. You might think it was just time not the product, but trust me, after living with the smell for over a week I could tell there was an improvement not related solely to the passage of time. I called the Nature’s Miracle support line to ask how often I could reapply it without harming my dog’s coat. The agent advised repeat applications were fine as long as I waited a few days in between. More importantly, she advised that I should not rinse him off before using it, like you normally do before applying shampoo. That was my mistake with the first application. I had assumed he had to be rinsed first in order for the product to lather up. In any event, after a second “dry-coat” application Nature’s Miracle got rid of at least 90% of the smell…hallelujah! So, follow the instructions, apply it dry and repeat if necessary…it will work. My only advice to the company is to add “Do not rinse first” to the instructions. It just seems natural to rinse before shampooing your dog, washing your car or whatever so adding that little tidbit of information should help customers like me to apply it properly the first time.Hombre

This was an ok cleaner for pet related messes. I bought the one that has enzymes that is suppose to help neutralize the smell. I have a small chihuahua and even though she’s trained to go to the bathroom outside or on a pee pad, she still sometimes loves to go on any carpets/mats we have lying around our house. This spray helped with cleaning that up but I honestly didn’t really notice it helping to eliminate or neutralize the urine smell. It got most of the stain out but to get rid of the smell or to prevent her from going back to that same spot, I still have to take the carpet and wash it in my washing machine. It’s handy to have if she eats something bad and throws up on the tile or hardwood floor but in terms of neutralizing smell, not so much. Would I buy it again? Maybe. Unless I find something better out there.liisa.m

This is the second time in 3 weeks our black lab has been sprayed by a skunk. People had referred us to this the first time after the fact. This time we did the home remedy of 1 quart hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup baking soda and a teaspoon of dawn. We did that twice, then use a full bottle of Nature’s Miracle Skunk Odor Remover. Instead of using dog shampoo like the product recommends after sitting in the dogs for 5 minutes, we really worked in baking soda into the fir before we washed off this product. The dog barely smells and really, the only spot that smells very little is one spot lower on the back we missed. Overall I would recommend this!BlackLabBeauty
