i have a rottie who eats any type of snack. he even loves his allergy tablets. But he does not like eating these. I bought them because he eats blue buffalo kibble so i figured same ingredients won’t get him sick. well he grabs them excited and once he sees what it is he doesn’t not eat it. hours later if he is bored or hungry he’ll eat just to chew but not because he likes them. This was a new biscuit for my hyper boy to try and although it's not his favorite he seems to be ok with em. I think the part he don't like is the size the biscuits are. My boy is a medium sized dog but in my opinion the size in this bag would be great for a large dog. They do have the crunch factor for sure. They come in a resealable bag to keep them fresh and lock out any moisture. First. Per the AKC, It takes approximately 15 to 30 grams of garlic per kilogram of body weight to produce harmful changes in a dogs blood. That said, you have to feed your dog a lot of garlic cloves to kill Fido.Next, for those freaking out because they believe the product is actually somehow from China and mislabeled- consider the fact they have actually added Produced in Topeka, KS in big fat letters right on the face of the product. A quick search for slaughterhouses near Topeka Kansas brings up a pretty long list. In that China is a top exporter of pork and a bottom exporter of beef but the third highest importer of beef from the United States, its a far stretch to think that the beef is coming from China. In addition in the product ingredients it says Made in America with American beef. To add to that, if you start going down the list of ingredients and researching the top producers of those items, Chinas way down on the list except for the corn syrup which also mostly comes from the USA. For meat treats, these are my dogs favourite! She’s not picky when it comes to meat treats though, but she loves these. I buy them at Costco, and they’re not too badly priced, so these are what she gets, and she loves them! She literally dances in circles whenever I take one out. My dog is only 15 lbs, and if I give her more than half a stick, she gets nauseous, and throws up. So, I can only give her half a stick. I break it up into about 6 pieces, and I try to make it feel like she’s getting a lot, with half a stick broken up into pieces, then she won’t bark at me for more. It’s just a little dog psychology.. haha. If you just give the dog the entire piece, like my parents do, the dog thinks it hasn’t gotten very much. First. Per the AKC, It takes approximately 15 to 30 grams of garlic per kilogram of body weight to produce harmful changes in a dogs blood. That said, you have to feed your dog a lot of garlic cloves to kill Fido.Next, for those freaking out because they believe the product is actually somehow from China and mislabeled- consider the fact they have actually added Produced in Topeka, KS in big fat letters right on the face of the product. A quick search for slaughterhouses near Topeka Kansas brings up a pretty long list. In that China is a top exporter of pork and a bottom exporter of beef but the third highest importer of beef from the United States, its a far stretch to think that the beef is coming from China. In addition in the product ingredients it says Made in America with American beef. To add to that, if you start going down the list of ingredients and researching the top producers of those items, Chinas way down on the list except for the corn syrup which also mostly comes from the USA. The idea of just 5 ingredients is a great idea. This review is for the oven baked paw’some peanut butter. Looking at the ingredients list: oats, peanut butter, dry whey, canola oil and natural flavor. Everything looks pretty harmless except for “natural flavor”, not sure what it really means but I will give them benefit of a doubt. But because one of my dogs is prone to cysteine stone he is unable to try this treat, he is on a restricted diet. So this review is base on my other dog’s reaction, she is a picky eater but love treats! The first time I handed her the treat she just sniffed it, did not take the treat. That’s already not a good sign, but maybe she just don’t want the treat at the moment (sometime she has mood swings). We tried new treats all the time when she sniff it and like it, she takes the treat right away. So my hope for this treat decreases. After some time passed I tried handing her the treat, again sniffed it but did not take it. Before giving up on the treat I did tried again with no success 😕. My final verdict for this treat is that it’s probably not for picky eater and not for dogs prone to cysteine stones. I really love the idea of using simple real Whole Foods. It is hard to find pet foods/treats that truly uses Whole Foods. Most pet products have ingredients that we either can’t pronounce or simply don’t know what it is. With only a few ingredients, this treat easily passed my ingredient inspection (it is shocking how many dog treats have unsafe ingredients in them!), and my dog quickly took to them! I put them inside of treat dispenser toys and they pose a nice challenge for my dog to work on. Sigh, this is getting old. For some reason, when I order these online, they arrive already dried out and stale. I know, you're thinking, they're jerky, jerky is dried out. But, anyone who buys these religiously like us knows, when you get a fresh bag, the treats are bright red, flexible and smell good. When you get a dried out bag, they have lost their color, have almost white spots on them and practically break when bent. Our dog is addicted to these and he will not go near the new ones I just got. I normally go in club so I can pick out a fresh bag, but our store is completely out right now. I have 2 mini dachshunds. One of them will eat anything, but my rescue is EXTREMELY picky when it comes to treats. He will typically sniff treats, and then give me that look like "really mom?" and then he would leave the treat there and walk away from them. but since I saw these over a year ago, these Chicken Grillers have been the ONLY treat he loves! When I take him out to do his dooties he will come running back in as soon as I ask if he wants his nudges treat! He sits so happy watching my every move till he gets his treat! So my little 5lb chihuahua loves these treats. He is very picky when it comes to treats, these are his absolute favorite. The last few times I have bought them, the smell is awful! As soon as my dog heard the bag being opened she was eager to give them a try. Even my cat was intrigued. My dog is used to the dry crunchy dog biscuits, but these chews were a change of pace. If gave her just one at first, just to see if she was interested. She inhaled it so fast she just sat and waited for more! I have been giving her these treats for good behavior, and so far so good. (I even gave one to my nosey cat, and he loved them, too!) The package is great because it's easy to reseal and keep them fresh. They are great for a smaller dog breed, and even for my larger 50 lb pit-mix dog. However, these are relatively small for her. I'll give her maybe 5 at a time seeing as how they're small enough for my cat to eat, my dog would be only teased with just one. Thought these were great at first but they go stale too quick and get very hard. My dog liked them and they weren’t too expensive which is why I didn’t mind buying them at first because if he did t like them it was not a biz expense to toss them. My dog is pretty picky when it comes to treats. I have a good saver so I open bags take about half out and reseal everything. These treats are very hard and stale within two to three days. My dogs love these treats. As they age harder crunchier snacks are falling out of preference so small, chewy treats are a must buy for us. Even the youngest that could chew through a steel plate will eat these so I have to believe they taste good. There are a good amount of them in a resealable bag. You get a red heart, a black and beige bone, and a black paw print that is bordered in tan. I don't know if they have a different taste individually but my gang eats them without hesitation no matter is given to them. These are small enough that they could easily be used a training treat without busting their food budget. Bottom line? If you have multiple small dogs, varying in age this treat will go over big! Since my dog’s new diagnosis of diabetes, I had to find her some new treats. She loves her treats but she really isn’t supposed to be snacking between meals. I wanted something simple and healthy. These dog beef jerky sticks will fit the bill. I would like to make some homemade ones one day and see how that goes. For now these will work. The last few bags I've purchased (4x28oz) have not been very good quality. Either the recipe has changed or these are really old. They seem stale and are about 75% the size of what they used to be. I have older dog (15yrs) and her teeth aren't the best and I actually feel bad giving them to her because they're so hard and dry. If she didn't stare me down and wait for these as her after dinner treat, I wouldn't give them to her at all. Unfortunately, they've been hard to find lately so I feel I have no choice. Hopefully it's just a supply chain issue and will be corrected shortly. I really hope they aren't cheapening the product to save a buck, sucks when company's do that. In an effort to avoid shopping in brick & mortar stores, we ordered several different kinds of the Blue Moon jerky products: 1) chicken jerky (Gizmo ate – these were ok but they are pressed / formed); 2) chicken jerky, natural cuts; (Gizmo loved but there were a lot of broken / small chip-like pieces near the bottom 1/3 of the bag which is a choking hazard for such a tiny dog – so I wound up having to trash quite a few which my wallet was not happy about); 3) chicken jerky for joint health; (Gizmo ate – these were ok but they are pressed / formed.); 4) chicken nuggets (Color seemed off – returned to store); 5) beef jerky (Gizmo enjoyed but experienced tummy issues); 6) pork jerky (Gizmo ate but experienced tummy issues) We have a 9 lb Pomeranian. Food driven, but somewhat 'discerning' and will not eat treats if they have fillers. See previous reviews. Gizmo ate one of these, and did not have any stomach issues afterwards, but he definitely enjoyed the 'natural' chicken jerky a whole lot more. Ultimately, these were just 'ok.' They are pressed and formed. He's an aggressive chewer which means that even though I wedged this into a Kong – he devoured it fairly quickly. I will let my dog pick her treats or play toys but when I grabbed the little green the one that was green and white looking like a tooth brush, and finally the one that looked like a alligator to my surprise I had accidentally ordered these(when I got home my duvet guy as just leaving a package). We usually have a mix of kibble and treats for during training sessions. My shepherd usually gets over them very quickly. These salmon treats are the one that is still high value. They cost more but are defintitely worth it. The salmon ones are more smelly than chicken but I can see the difference in all dogs that I have given these to.macho_nair
Turns out that my picky little Chihuahua/Papillon mix loves these treats. Which make me happy with all the wonderful ingredients. She usually snubs her nose at treats unless it is table scraps. But for the last few months she has been on a Dog Food/with the occasional Dog Treat diet. She is a little over 11 pounds and it is putting stress on her short little legs. If you dog is a little picky I would definitely go and get a bag of these great Blue Wilderness train Treats, Chicken Jerky is her absolute favorite. They do cost a tiny bit more but it is better than buying the cheaper ones that she won't eat at all that aren't as good for her. Oh yeah and the BEST PART is: That this product is Grain Free. Sigh, this is getting old. For some reason, when I order these online, they arrive already dried out and stale. I know, you're thinking, they're jerky, jerky is dried out. But, anyone who buys these religiously like us knows, when you get a fresh bag, the treats are bright red, flexible and smell good. When you get a dried out bag, they have lost their color, have almost white spots on them and practically break when bent. Our dog is addicted to these and he will not go near the new ones I just got. I normally go in club so I can pick out a fresh bag, but our store is completely out right now. I guess it's back to buying the smaller bags at local stores……Ugh
I have 2 mini dachshunds. One of them will eat anything, but my rescue is EXTREMELY picky when it comes to treats. He will typically sniff treats, and then give me that look like "really mom?" and then he would leave the treat there and walk away from them. but since I saw these over a year ago, these Chicken Grillers have been the ONLY treat he loves! When I take him out to do his dooties he will come running back in as soon as I ask if he wants his nudges treat! He sits so happy watching my every move till he gets his treat! I hope you NEVER stop making these! And I love the grillers because they are so soft and I just divide the full ones into three bite size treats and put them into his treat jar. They both constantly want to go outside just so they can come back in and get another treat! My other dachshund says (its kind of a growly bark- and very clear "I love you" when he is waiting for his nudges treat!!! I would give Nudges Chicken Grillers 10+ Stars if I could!!!!Bonnie
So my little 5lb chihuahua loves these treats. He is very picky when it comes to treats, these are his absolute favorite. The last few times I have bought them, the smell is awful! They smell like a pack of opened bandaids (smell a bandaid and you will know what I am talking about). It is disgusting! I did not think anything of it, yet this last bag I bought, he has been having pooping issues – like diarrhea, needing to go out way more than usual. I am going to stop the treats to see if clears up. If so, no more Nudges Chicken treats!Lsutigergrl
