All of our dogs are very picky eating senior's. I really did not expect much from this product but, all dogs willing eat the hip and joint chews daily. I bought two 90 count packages for our 4 dogs, at the end of 45 days I was amazed at the difference in their coats and skin. I have two dogs, one large and and one small. I gave the Greenies to both dogs to see how they reacted to them. My large dog loves them. He gulps them up in one sitting. My small dog doesn’t like them at all. I believe it is due to the oily smell they have. She took a couple of sniffs and goes the other way. I like the face they they are nice and soft and not hard on my dog’s teeth. I love that they’re are supplements to help keep my dogs coat nice and shiny. I give my large dog 2 per day based on his weight and he has no problem eating them. The bag is resealable to they stay fresh much longer. I plan to buy more of the Greenies Supplement for him. My two little dogs (a chihuahua and a chihuahua/daschund mix) really loved these treats! They were the perfect size for them as little dogs, plus they were all natural, so I felt good about giving my dogs these chews. I thought this product will be the long waited answer to my poor dog who has been suffering from hot spots and endless discomfort with allergy. I followed exact directions with a very small amount formulated in his food. His body immediately reacted to this product so badly with loose and very dark stool. I continued to give it in such a tiny amount mixed in the food, and his condition kept worsening. I had to conclude this product failed just like other supplements. My 11 yr old aussie mix Mary was diagnosed with Diffuse gastric cancer in September. This supplement was recommended by the vet technician, her senior dog was taking it and it made a difference in her daily life so we got some. This supplement has greatly improved one of my dog's health after only a few weeks of use. Penny is our rescue mutt: she's got some Golden Retriever and Korean Jindo in her, along with a mishmash of other breeds, but her coat and skin have always been in poor health. She's got a plethora of fun allergies to deal with that make her constantly itchy. Her skin issues were so severe from allergies at one point that we went to our vet to get her prescription medications. We started with monthly injections, but those quickly lost effectiveness after a few weeks. We switched to a daily prescription strength allergy pill–but during the spring and summer seasons when pollen and grass are growing, she's miserable and her itching is uncontrollable. It would get so bad that even petting her would cause her to break out into an itch-fit. She would scratch herself to bleeding sometimes, and our house was constantly littered with little tufts of fur from her itching. Her hair was always thin and brittle and she had almost no undercoat–a huge issue because we live in Alaska. During the winter months she could get so cold without any kind of undercoat protection, so we tried to help by getting her sweaters for the cold and to protect against her own destructive itching. We felt awful for her, and we found these supplements at a local pet supply store. We gave them a shot, and I couldn't be more impressed. After a few weeks, we noticed a big difference in her chewing and itching. After a month, her coat was starting to grow back and become stronger and healthier! Our bulldog has all sorts of skin issues: dry skin, yeast infections, hot spots, allergies, etc. He’d scratch and bite so much his skin would break and bleed at times. My husky mix had HORRIBLE skin allergies that turned into a fungal/bacterial infection. I like that it keeps my dogs coat pretty and shiney. I have a boykin spaniel and sometimes their coat can get dull. I also like that this has the Omega Fatty acids with other vitamins to support skin, coat and nails! I like the probiotics in there to also help with digestive health. I'm a big fan of medicinal mushrooms and know that they work well. However, they are also very powerful and not w/o danger or side effects. Considered how common feline hyperthyroidism is, people should be aware that some medicinal mushrooms contained in here, stimulate the endocrine system. My elderly cat stopped responding to his anti-thyroid meds, with thyroid hormone rising contstantly. I sent an email to Bixbi (the maker of these products) inquiring about the thyroid and Maitake's and Shiitake's endocrine stimulating qualities. Bixbi stated that they do NOT recommend the Superfood products for my cat with Hyperthyroidism. Purchased this product along with BSST to help our 7-year-old Golden mix build up her immunity to hopefully fight off any more mast cell tumors. While reading other recommendations, I discovered that it is good for older pets, as well, who may need their immunity bolstered simply because of age. So, we began giving it to our nearly 12-year-old Malamute. I have noticed a definite difference in both dogs! They are much more alert, and they look and act like they feel better. My dog kept having diarrhea all over the house very loose stool we just kept switching her dog food and nothing was helping, we put a little bit of this pet kale probiotic in her dog bowl about a tablespoon and her stool harden within a day and a half! I do not usually leave reviews but maybe our story would help someone else find answers for their pet. Our Pyrenees mix has suffered terribly with allergies. He had red staining around his mouth, paws and backside, would shake his head constantly, scratching at his ears, and was licking himself raw. The vet treated his inflamed ears, prescribed drops for them and recommended switching food from beef/chicken/grain to grain-free/lamb. We also tried other supplements and medications. Although the drops help for a day or two, none of these changes brought permanent or lasting relief. At 3 chews 2x/day (he is 100#'s), we are half-way through our first bag of Canine Skin and Allergy Supplement and his behavior has changed from restlessness and constant itching to calm, relaxed, sleeping out in the sun. He has stopped shaking his head and I have not needed to put the steroid drops in his ears for over a week. Adding the supplement was the only thing we changed. I don't think we are 'there yet' and want to try another bag but I do feel this is something worth trying. It is easy to use and he seems to enjoy his twice daily 'treat'.Lifeizgood
My smooth coat collie had hot spots starting on the top part of her back toes last year. I gave her a supplement that seemed to make her lose bladder control. I stopped the supplement and all was good and the hair had grown back by then. Guessing this is a summer seasonal thing now as she got the same hair loss and pink on top of back toes this year. Used same supplement as last year and same loss of bladder control happened so I took her off it right away. She's fine now but still had to deal with the allergy toe hair loss thing. Bought the canine skin and allergy and it works great. Hair is back, no licking and no bladder control loss. She likes the supplements too. For her weight she should get 2 AM and 2 PM but I only give her 1 AM and 1 PM as a maintenance and still working great. My jack Russell liked them too but package says to keep them fresh longer, keep in fridge but that made them hard and he didn't like them as much then. His dosage was half a piece morning and evening. He was scratching a little at beginning of summer and this stuff worked for him with that too. I would definitely store in fridge if you have a little dog because the bag will last awhile and may get moldy. I was putting next days serving in sealed container outside fridge so not so hard for the little dog. My Border Collie, Riata, had a serious reaction to fleas. I treat for fleas often, but the flea load was heavier than usual this year. It was springtime and we had a ton of rain which means a ton of grasses and then a ton of mice. The mice brought the fleas. I thought she was just shedding heavily and then noticed that she was quickly going bald. On her chest and back she started looking greasy too with several small pustules here and there. I bought a medicated shampoo thinking it was some form of fungus or bacteria, but then I started seeing these big fleas while I was bathing her. We heat with wood, so our air in the house is very dry, causing the dogs to itch. I bought this recently and started giving it to my rescued Chih mix. After about 7 days of the recommended amount for one dose only, his coat is silky smooth and his BM is in perfect form. I am so happy with the product. I also find that he has more of an appetite since he is a very picky eater. I will most likely start the second dose in another week to let his body get adjusted to the new supplement. Since starting this supplement 1.5 years ago, his eyes are clearer, his digestion is perfect, his coat is thick and soft, his allergies have subsided, and he even grew hair over an old scar he'd had for years! I have bought this brand before, so i knew it was good quality. I tend to rotate this with another mixed oil. It really helps with my dog's dry skin condition when added to her raw (meat, bones, offal) food. As with all supplements, it takes a good 30 days of use to notice any difference. This has completely stopped my dog from scratching and worked in the first 3 days. My dog has scratched ruthlessly since we got her. She was a rescue so we thought she had fleas. We bathed her and treated her and could never find anything on her, plus we live in the desert with not much of a flea problem. Then we noticed she would scratch when she got excited or nervous so we thought it was just a nervous habit. We moved into a new house with a big backyard and her stretching intensified to nearly neurotic. At least it was making me neurotic. We went to the Dog Supplies store and bought her this Grizzly Pollock Oil. I was afraid she wouldnt eat her food even tho it says dogs like the taste. She is finicky about even treats. I wouldnt say she loves the taste but she still eats her food so that means it must be really good according to dogs. But I literally noticed her less scratching almost immediately. Within 3 days she was scratching considerably less maybe 3-5 times a day compared to constantly aggressively stretching herself. And whimpering… poor thing. Since her finishing one bottle in about 3 or so weeks. Ive only seen her scratch 2 times. That was yesterday and we gave her a bath and no scratching at all. Shes been scratch free. UNBELIEVABLE! And not to mention hercoat is super shiny. She has course hair and it has even softened up a bit. Overall if your dog scratched and bathing isnt fixing it or flea treatments. Try this oil . I 100% recommend it even for all skin or coat issues and general health wellbeing. I give her 7 pumps twice a day on top of her dog kibble. She is about 65 pounds Shepard/lab mix. It has the recommended dosage on the bottle too. But I swear this has cured her and will keep it part of her diet as it has healthy oils in it for her heart and joints and overall functioning. Was a bit skeptical about the raving reviews but bought it anyway to try out. My dog has itchy and sensitive skin and sheds like a dandelion on bad days. Two chews a day for the duration of 2 bottles worth and his skin is surprisingly less itchy, shedding much much lesser too. I'm not sure if this is partly due to starting him on coconut oil around the same time as well, but what I did find was that even on coconut oil, not taking this after it ran out got his skin condition back to poor again within 2-3 weeks.
