I purchased the 4 step white version. This is a very light weight step & easy to move. However, the depth of each step is not as big as it looks in the picture. Each step is 4 inches in depth when you push the material in, but if you have a big footed dog that is not much for a sturdy climb. Plus, because it is so light weight, if the dog does not go up the steps exact center, the steps will tilt. And the material is not tacked down very good on the steps, so nails might stick in it making it harder to climb. If you have a small dog or cat, this will work good. I did not notice the 25 lb limit when I ordered & my beagle is a bit over that, but he tried to get up. I had to hold the steps to keep them from tilting as he was not exact center. And even tho he has his nails clipped, they still caught in the material some as it is very loose on the steps. And the steps just seem too small in depth for his feet. I bought this a couple of months ago so my Shih try could get up onto my bed. It is still not tall enough for a tall bed. She struggles and can finally use her back legs braced on the side of the bed to boost herself up. The steps are too narrow and it has taken her a long time to build confidence in using them. Our 5 pound Morkie is 10 years old and always been a fast and high jumper. I've gradually noticed her favoring her hind legs a bit from time to time, so immediately started researching ramps for her to get onto the sofa, where she lays most of the time. I recently purchased a DoggoRamp bed ramp and a couch ramp. As a dachshund owner, I have ramps all over my house. I've purchased ramps from various vendors and have never been fully impressed with my prior purchases. They've all done the job, but they haven't really been pretty or particularly well made. I think this is a well built product and would probably work for most dogs. I bought it for my 20 year old wobbly cat and it is much too steep. I got her to use them a few times but I could just see she was terrified, mostly going down them. I can see why, when you look at it from the bottom the angle is pretty intense for a small animal. If you have a bigger dog or a more agile cat, I think it would work. She is small and these are very tall, which I need, she insists on being on my bed but the angle is too much for her. I wouldn't hesitate to try them for your pet. My bed is higher than I can help, she uses a small cat condo, onto a low chair, and then onto the bed. We bought these for our 15 year old cat who herniated disks in her back in June. She was essentially paralyzed but can walk now and climb. These allow her to get up onto our bed which is quite high. The only problem is she sometimes forgets her injury and launches off the bed instead of going back down properly. I did Velcro a heavy cardboard extension on the top step so she would not get her paw between the steps and the edge of the bed. Well made steps and easy to assemble.James

There are so many problems with this staircase. I can't believe anyone would actually even leave a positive review. Here are the problems: First, the staircase wouldn't stay open by itself. It was very unsteady. It would often just close up if moved ever so slightly. Secondly, since the staircase is made out of cheap plastic, coupled with its very light weight, it would not remain still on a hardwood floor. Perhaps, it might be OK on a carpeted floor, but again, it is very light and this light weight causes it to become very unstable. Another reviewer said they had to added weight and wood to the staircase in an attempt to make it more steady, but seriously, should you have to go through that much trouble for a new product? Third, the design just feels cheap and flimsy. You almost feel like it's going to break. I returned it to Walmart the same evening. Stairs are sturdy and well-build and even though I wondered if they could be a little steep for my 10 lb, 10 month old Maltepoo, who generally tends to be somewhat of a "fraidy cat", I was wrong. This is a nice and sturdy product. However it comes in two pieces and the lower two stairs are connected to the top set up steps by the carpet. The carpet attaches to the steps with Velcro strips. The Velcro strips don't hold the weight of the animals going up and down the steps and they didn't stay attached very long. Once the Velcro comes off, the bottom steps slide around because there is nothing to keep the carpet in place to keep the bottom steps sturdy. I kept the product for almost 30 days and am returning them because my dogs won't use any of the steps that are slanted. They won't use the first step or top step at all. I called the company to send them back and it is costing me $23.00 to return the item. It can't be returned to Wal-mart. The steps are very nice otherwise.Kathleen

It's a 24 inch jump for our Finnish Spitz who is approaching 12 years old. These steps take her easily to the top of the bed and allow her to get down just as easily with no pressure on her back legs or haunches. Love that they're foam so if she should have a misstep, it's a soft landing.NjBd
If you used these in the living room you wouldn't need to apologize for its looks. If someone objects to how these stairs look send them packing and hug your pet. For a pet that can't jump up anymore this is a firm foam that my 20lb dog can maneuver easily to get in bed with us. Floor to couch or chair would be even easier. They don't wabble or slide, even on a wooden floor, when he launches himself from the top step. They would be a compliment to any room for a needy pet. Vacuums easily to remove even fuzzy shih tzu hair. In fact his fuzzy hair doesn't cling to this fabric compared to the other stairs we tried. Sticky roller works well too. Fabric doesn't lift away from stairs like the last set did. The fabric is very smooth which also facilitates cleaning. We aren't seeing impressions of his footprints depressing into the foam. The foam is firm enough it just bounces back. These stairs are NOT a block of styrofoam. We haven't had any stains so I can't speak for that. Wasn't as tall as I thought it would be. The quality was excellent and being shipped it still arrived in excellent condition. It was received clean and is was well-made. Sturdy and easy to put together. My puppies loved chewing the bottom step. They did a lot of damage so if you have chewers you will want to add a step protector or do something proactive. I also used my rechargeable Dyson to vacuum, don’t. The material is not designed for strong suction. It will stay looking great if you use a hand broom to sweep. I just purchased two more, we have four little dogs. It is very bad for small dogs to jump off furniture. We were told by our vet that it will cause arthritis in their joints so these steps are worth every penny.Ixoye
I really like it for my little girl, a 5 1/2 lb YorkiePoo. She can zip up to the bed in a flash, that is great for this older mom to not have to get out of bed to lift her up when she simply must get up! She often remembers she left a chew bone on the floor in the living room and she really, really needs to go back to get it for bed! My only complaint is the degree of slant is much too short for her to go back down. She cannot get her feet to the next step going down before she is tumbling down head first, because the next steps are steep with a narrow portion of the next step down not giving enough room for the back of her body to get on. I hope I am making sense, she is afraid after several tumbles all the way down. It is worrisome because to get down, she has to make a big leap off the bed. It is a big jump for a little one to make, I constantly worry that she will fracture something. That is my one and only complaint, I do like the stairs, I would buy it again, hoping one day we might find that problem resolved.
