Both of our cats have tried this probiotic/prebiotic powder and have no trouble eating it as long as we mix it with wet food, which we normally don't buy for them. When mixing it with dry food, the powder just settles to the bottom of the bowl. My primary reason for choosing this powder was due to adopting a second cat, a young stray who was having loose stools. Our older cat was not having any issues. By the time I was able to try the powder, the new cat was no longer having the loose stools. He did throw up his dry food a couple of times, which we thought was due to eating too fast. Since trying the powder he has not thrown up. Was this due to the powder, I can't say for sure. I'm giving the powder 4 stars because the cats are tolerating it well and it seems to have helped with the younger cat. It would be better if this came in a solid form, like a treat, that the cats could eat without having to mix with wet food.Alfromil
I've been using product for about a week. The product comes with a small scoop to measure amount to put on food according to pet weight. It is a pretty good sized container. It says it's tasteless. The product dissolves instantly on wet food. I'm sure if you sprinkle it on a small amount of kibble and stir well your pet would eat it. The product changed my cats stool from light tan to a darker brown but hasn't changed his loose stool consistency. I will be honest and say I have used many products trying to get my cats stool to a normal consistency so this product may work very well for your pet. It would probably be worth a try.tiger
My poor old cat was having problems with his bowel movements. His stools were too soft and kind of runny. When I received Fera Probiotics Prebiotics I checked the ingredients and saw that there seemed to be lots of fiber per scoop. The fiber was my main objective. My cat is over 15 pounds so I gave him a full scoop every morning in his favorite wet cat food. Within 4 days, his stools had firmed up a lot. My cat is 12.5 years old and not very energetic, he mostly just lays around during the day, so I can't say there was any change in his overall behavior. He seemed a bit more content in the evenings when we sat together to watch TV. I am thinking that he might have been having a bellyache before I started giving him this product. I am going to keep him on this product for three reasons, 1. he seems to like it, 2. cleaning his litter box is much easier with firmer stools. 3. my granddaughter has gut problems and she uses probiotics for bloating, so I think that may have been part of my cat's problem too. My dog loves pumpkin flavor and food in general, so there were no issues with consumption. This particular formulation is labeled Gut Health which is great, but unfortunately, my dog's gut is extremely sensitive and every morning he vomited. I can't say for certain if Zesty Paws Probiotic Bites was the cause, but I took him off of the probiotic after a week and the vomiting ceased. Although I cannot continue using this probiotic, I would still recommend to friends and family with pets who have less sensitive stomachs. I was recommended Purina Pro Plan FortiFlora by my vet and have had great results. Since then I grab it at Petsmart when needed. My pitbull has a very sensitive stomach and often has issues. Since using FortiFlora, most of his issues have been resolved. He loves the flavor. I believe it's beef and it's so easy to give it to him. First an introduction to Barnie the bichon… He’s 13 years young with one, heart failure and osteoarthritis. Bert is old and has a few gas issues. Well a lot of gas issues really and sharing a room with him is sometimes not so much fun. I ordered 3 jars of the Allergy Immunity chews and 1 jar of the Allergy Skin Health. dog would not eat the chews. They smell awful and they must have tasted exactly like they smelled because he spit them out every time I gave him a chew. I even tried masking the taste with peanut butter, but he licked the peanut butter off and left the chew. The only way I could get him to eat the chew is if I wrapped it in chicken, and sometimes he would eat the chicken and still spit out the chew. It was so frustrating. I emailed the company and told them the situation. They told me to send back the 2 unopened jars and to donate the open jars or throw them away. After sending back the unopened jars they said that they are only replacing 2 jars even though I purchased 4.

I have been giving the Zesty Paws Aller-Immune Mini Bites to my 3-year old Boston Terrier. She historically has had some kind of skin allergies bothering her for her whole life. Various trips to professionals and special diets occurred previously. I was excited by the appeal of the Aller-Immune bites. These bite-sized "treats" boast Immune support and Seasonal allergy improvement. It hasn't helped my dog in this way, in fact she has been scratching more and more. It's tough to say if it's the result of this product or if the weather and flora outside is changing. When things balance out again, I will continue to serve the rest of the product to my dog and see if it helps her gut. My three dogs love these treats. I only gave the supplement four stars because giving them to two of my dogs seems correlated to their stools being more well formed and easier to pass while my third dog's chronic diarrhea has not been helped. I think the difference in result is due to the difference in he dogs digestive systems and maybe even in temperament. The dog with diarrhea is very high strung and was rescued from an abuser. She's very scared all the time and I think she merely has a very nervous tummy. My dog has had a rough summer with knee surgery, an infection in her paw and then an extremely bad ear infection which she's never had until her extended bout of antibiotics. Purchased this in desperation for my 9-month-old puppy who was vomiting and had diarrhea for two nights. I'm unsure of how well this product works mainly because I found my dog did not like taking it. I did not find it to dissolve well in his water and he did not want to drink his water with the packet mixed in it. Then I tried sprinkling it on his food which he ate but a large amount of the packet just settled on the bottom. I think you almost need to have moist food for it to stick. The little bit I got into him did not seem to make any difference but I know he didn't get their recommended amount and I did not get a lot days with him actually consuming it. I might try to administer it with moist food if he seems to have some digestive issues come up. For now, I didn't find the product to be either helpful or bad. It did not dissolve easily and was not easy to get my dog to consume it.corgi mom
The Tomlyn Pre & Probiotic supplement is a water soluble powder that mixes in with your dogs food or water. This product comes with 30 individually wrapped packets that contain a really, really fine white powder. I like that it is ground really fine because it makes it easier to mix. The only downside to that is that it can puff/smoke up if you are too heavy handed when pouring the product from the packaging. Each packet contains over 8 billion Colony Forming-Units (or CFU, for short) These organisms support good digestive health. I've been using this product for a week now and I love that I am putting good bacteria into my senior dogs gut. He has a yeast problem and probiotics are known to help with getting their gut health back on track. I leave my dogs food bowl full at all times so he can pick at it when he wants, so for this reason, I mix this product in with a tablespoon greek yogurt and he gobbles it up. I haven't noticed any side affect what-so-ever. my vet and i found this product while looking up options to help my 15+ year senior cat who struggled with chronic constipation for years. x-rays showed he was borderline megacolon but not quite. a low fiber diet and osmotic laxatives like miralax helped, but didn't provide full relief and it was easy to over- or under-dose the miralax. prn cisapride also helped, but it was just a bandaid on the larger problem. he wasn't dehydrated and his diet includes canned food with extra water to support his old kidneys. more accurately, we first found a veterinary research article about SLAB-15, a probiotic blend that showed clinically significant reduction in cat constipation and diarrhea. the combination of probiotic bacterial species in the tomlyn pre- and probiotic comes the closest to SLAB-15 of anything we could find that was also easy to purchase regularly. i've been using this product for a few months and am over the moon with how well it alleviates my senior cat's GI symptoms. he's much more comfortable now that he's not bloated, no longer strains to defecate, and no longer needs laxatives or cisapride. the powder has no smell or flavor. it dissolves well in water and i mix it into his wet food, but the powder is fine enough to shake and coat his dry food without him noticing (or at least he doesn't care). yes, this is the dog version of the product, but formula-wise, the dog and cat versions are exactly the same. with the dog version, you get twice as much product for the same price. it also seems that the dog version is the only one ever on sale. just note that the dog sachets are 2g and the cat sachets are 1g, so a cat would get half the 2g dog packet per day. it works out to about 1/2 tsp per day, or 1/4 tsp 2x day.sfaust

I do not usually leave reviews but maybe our story would help someone else find answers for their pet. Our Pyrenees mix has suffered terribly with allergies. He had red staining around his mouth, paws and backside, would shake his head constantly, scratching at his ears, and was licking himself raw. The vet treated his inflamed ears, prescribed drops for them and recommended switching food from beef/chicken/grain to grain-free/lamb. We also tried other supplements and medications. Although the drops help for a day or two, none of these changes brought permanent or lasting relief. At 3 chews 2x/day (he is 100#'s), we are half-way through our first bag of Canine Skin and Allergy Supplement and his behavior has changed from restlessness and constant itching to calm, relaxed, sleeping out in the sun. He has stopped shaking his head and I have not needed to put the steroid drops in his ears for over a week. Adding the supplement was the only thing we changed. My smooth coat collie had hot spots starting on the top part of her back toes last year. I gave her a supplement that seemed to make her lose bladder control. I stopped the supplement and all was good and the hair had grown back by then. Guessing this is a summer seasonal thing now as she got the same hair loss and pink on top of back toes this year. Used same supplement as last year and same loss of bladder control happened so I took her off it right away. She's fine now but still had to deal with the allergy toe hair loss thing. Bought the canine skin and allergy and it works great. Hair is back, no licking and no bladder control loss. She likes the supplements too. For her weight she should get 2 AM and 2 PM but I only give her 1 AM and 1 PM as a maintenance and still working great. My jack Russell liked them too but package says to keep them fresh longer, keep in fridge but that made them hard and he didn't like them as much then. His dosage was half a piece morning and evening. He was scratching a little at beginning of summer and this stuff worked for him with that too. I would definitely store in fridge if you have a little dog because the bag will last awhile and may get moldy. I was putting next days serving in sealed container outside fridge so not so hard for the little dog. My Border Collie, Riata, had a serious reaction to fleas. I treat for fleas often, but the flea load was heavier than usual this year. It was springtime and we had a ton of rain which means a ton of grasses and then a ton of mice. The mice brought the fleas. I thought she was just shedding heavily and then noticed that she was quickly going bald. On her chest and back she started looking greasy too with several small pustules here and there.
